For those who don't get it: last year or so, I once wondered what MGLN would be like if everyone was a couple of years older.
In the above mental image, Nanoha is 16 and everyone else's ages are adjusted accordingly. Nanoha just very very VERY narrowly survived her first encounter with Fate and explicitly would've died right then and there face-down in a pool of her own blood if Yuuno hadn't been available for healing. Hence why they're both so spooked that they seek each other's companionship: Nanoha because she seriously thought she was going to die, Yuuno because someone nearly died doing his dirty work for him so he blames himself no matter how much Nanoha insists that it's not his fault.
It's all very awkward, partly because they're both teens with no experience and partly because Nanoha is still injured and in pain.
<softly applauding with a nod>
An A-list execution, from an A-list author. Just the kind of high-grade thinking I've come to expect from you, amita.
And in case anyone wonders, yes, they do ponder afterwards about where they stand now. Was it a one-time thing and they're still just friends and accomplices, or was it a Relationship Upgrade? Nanona and Yuuno being Nanona and Yuuno, they ultimately decide to figure it out later and concentrate on the job for now.
A more pressing issue is that after this fiasco, Yuuno is seriously considering cutting Nanoha loose so as to not endanger her anymore.
Nanoha: No.
Yuuno: ...what?
Nanoha: I'm not leaving.
Yuuno: But if you get hurt like this again, I might not be around this time! You almost died! Aren't you the least bit afraid?!
Nanoha: Of course I am!
Yuuno: Then why?!
Nanoha: Because I promised. I promised to help you and I will see this through to the end, even if I have to do it on hands and knees. I'm not going anywhere. Besides, you weren't there. I was. I saw that girl's eyes. She didn't want to do this but she did it anyway. I want to know why.
Yuuno: But if you fight her in this condition-
Nanoha: As long as I'm alive, it's okay. Just watch my back.
As for Fate, she believes that Nanoha really did die from the beating Fate gave her but keeps telling herself that it was a necessary evil to achieve her goal. So when Nanoha shows up for some befriending, Fate is equal parts frustrated that she's in her way again and relieved that she survived.
Unlike most of the fandom, most of us here lie Yuuno. And some of us, me included, are completely okay with shipping him with Nanoha. I've always seen Nanoha as bi anyway.
Yeah, I personally prefer Nanoha/Fate/Yuuno over plain Nanoha/Fate (which is my second preferred choice of pairing)... as long as it actually involves Nanoha/Fate. Having Nanoha and Fate be merely heterosexual best friends who happen to be in love with the same guy is just... I'd say boring, except that I'm not averse to the same happening with other groups of anime characters (e.g. Ranma One Half). I don't know how to explain it other than Nanoha/Fate having something special about it in my heart. They just fit each other perfectly, you know?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. So… vanilla Nanoha with teenaged hormones? It'll 'Nanoha, produced by the CW, makers of Supernatural, Riverdale and the Arrowverse' Hotter and Sexier kinda thing?
Check out this link to Riverdale for the quickest way to understand what I mean.
Won't.
For what it's worth, it was Nanoha who started it.
Eh, I can't find myself in me to preemptively naysay it unless it ends up precluding Nanoha/Fate (i.e. it's strictly Nanoha/Yuuno rather than Nanoha/Fate/Yuuno).
... You know, we really should refine shipping notations for more than two people to avoid ambiguity between "all three are into each other" and, for example, "these two are into the third person but not into each other, and are willing to 'share'".
PS: I put "share" in quotation marks because it's arguably an inappropiate term that implies a person's capacity to love others is a limited commodity where each person's lot diminishes as you add more "recepients"; the most common counter-argument is that such a logic implies that a parent's love for each individual child they have decreases the more children they have, a notion that would be readily rejected by an overwhelming majority of people.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. These people would not be middle children.
Such little faith. You of all people should know by now that shafting alternate love interests is very much not my style, regardless of fandom.
And, really, why is Fate limited to just the one love interest all the time?
What, do blondes not get choices in this fandom or something?
I find that the Nanoha/Fate/Yuuno OT3 works best when Nanoha is the harem master.
Very difficult to come up with a reasonable reason for it existing in any other structure.
I've never bought Nanoha/Yuuno in any of its various forms — not because I object to it on principle or anything, but just because they have like zero shipping chemistry. If you're going OT3, the only real choice is Nanoha/Fate/Hayate, which is halfway canon◊ anyway.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I've seen and approve of Fate/Yuuno, FWIW. And I do admit that I've forgotten to clarify that I support Fate/Arf, Fate/Signum, Fate/Hayate, and Fate/Linith (persuming Linith is not dead) as well. It's just that my approval of those hinges on the inclusion of Nanoha/Fate as well.
Besides those, the only other romance options for her with any degree of canon-plausibility would be Chrono, Alicia, and Presea.
Plus all the official artwork that have the three together on their own. Some of them give the impression that Hayate is being treated the same way Fate gets treated in artwork where she and Nanoha are the centerpiece in a rather yuri-istic manner, or the same way she's treated in artwork where she's with one or more of the female Wolkenritter (which frequently has yuri undertones as well).
Speaking of the Wolkenritter... Poor Zafira doesn't get much love.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. At least Zaf hasn't been turned chibi, like basically every other magical dependant in the series. Arf, Rein, and Agito all seem to default to chibi mode to save mana or something, while Zaf is still a buff dude with some random furry bits.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Which kind of entirely proves my point that so few people in this fandom are willing to do much of substance with Fate if Nanoha isn't involved somehow.
I mean, a half-competent writer could totally get some mileage out of that.
Okay, I saw plenty of shipping material between Nanoha and Yuuno. Then again, I saw shipping material between Nanoha and almost everyone. There's the reason I see her as a massive flirt and tease.
You look at Nanoha and Fate's interactions in StrikerS onwards, especially after Vivio enters the picture, and tell me with a straight face that the idea of them being in a romantic/sexual relationship at the time is not more plausible than them being simply Heterosexual Life-Partners. Even Word of God all but spells out that they're indeed in a relationship. And that's before all the officially sanctioned manga spin-offs that explore Nanoha, Fate and Vivio's family life, with seemingly all of them deciding to stop pretending that Vivio's moms are anything but each other's girlfriend/unofficial wife (well, some would say "husband and wife", though arguments will arise about which of the two women is the husband/wife in the relationship).
As for Vice... I see Teana/Vice as much more plausible than Fate/Vice, honestly speaking.
... Speaking of Teana: Rainbows are straighter than Subaru.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Yes, but AU is a thing and starts way before Strikers.
Anyone still looks for fics between this and Cross Ange? Well, here it is.

Next chapter for Angelic Resonance, here.
Got some Ange x Signum Ship Tease going on...
Just in, the third chapter for my Lyrical Nanoha and Cross Ange fanfic is up. Link for the prologue is here.
Time for the two primary heroines to finally meet.
@Marq:
Oh come on man, is that really the best you've got?
You didn't even have Vivio excitedly waiting for Veyron-papa to get home from his work as a cleaner.
@amita: I think that idea's rather awesome, myself.
