Say, do the various undead creatures in this franchise count as examples of Artificial Zombie? I think they do, whether the end result was something the creators aimed for (e.g. Tyrants and Hunters) or not (standard zombies, which are technically failures as living bioweapons, but nevertheless do have some marginal use as Cannon Fodder).
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. They're more of a Technically-Living Zombie, seeing as they're mostly creatures that mutated into a form that resembles The Undead (even the ones that "revive" are established as being in a near-death state rather than medically dead).

TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerWhat about the husk like zombies in 2 and Veronica, including in the latter's case zombies that literally rise from the grave? T Virus is pretty all encompassing.
Well, I don't see anything that makes those two tropes mutually exclusive. They're Technically Living Zombies that are created due to a man-made virus (either intentionally or, in case of "technical failures", still proven to be useful enough to take into account), so they're Artificial Technically Living Zombies, right?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Been playing Resident Evil Revelations 2 and it's actually scary what the hell. It's been like a fifth of a century since Resident Evil's been scary.
The Afflicted are goddamn horrifying to look at. There's this one model that has a bunch of faces stitched into its stomach. It's almost enough to justify yet another addition to the "Like Zombies, but not quite" list Resident Evil's famous for. Seeing them in Raid Mode is almost comical given their tortured appearance does not mesh with the arcade style gameplay.
BTW why does the trope page list Tomboy and Girly Girl? Moira is a shorthaired punk Sir Swears-a-Lot and Claire is gaming's original Biker Babe with a thing for leather jackets. Neither is particularly feminine, and regardless of the debate over which one's moreso the gulf isn't nearly deep enough to justify calling it that trope.

Sheesh we're never gonna leave that city behind are we?
Though that probably was the most exciting time during the series.
#IceBearForPresidentI just hope this game won't turn out like the bomb that was Operation Raccoon City.

As I watched that trailer I kept desperately wishing the upload date was April 1st. Desperately.
"By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.""HOPE IS DEAD"
I pray this hasn't superceded the RE 2 remake.
Well Capcom managed to steer support back with Revelations 2 and the 2 Remake let's cut that with more Zombie Call Of Duty.
Mileena MadnessSteven Blum!
I actually lik... Well... Didn't hate Operation Raccoon City. The biggest problem it had was a lack of randomness; there's no director like in Left 4 Dead so they sort of expect you to play through the levels again and again with only your own abilities varying a bit.
Characters where cool. Zombies as an environmental hazard idea was cool. Abilities where cool. Concept was cool. Controls can be described as "Slightly Janky" even by RE standards though.
And the opening couple levels are actually really great; it really only completely falls apart when it stops being canon. The game could've worked if it ended when you saw Leon crash that car. The final bit with the metric craptonload of Crimson Heads that bum rush you unless you know exactly what you're doing is just frustrating, not challenging. One of my worst gaming experiences that was.
So actually looking forward to Umbrella Corps. Same idea done better?

Bleye knows Sabers.
As someone who grew up with Resident Evil, I can't say I like anything past 4.
It's not that games like 5 or Raccoon City were exceptionally bad or anything, it's just that Capcom is straying away from survival horror, what it did best, and instead trying to be something it isn't. Valve already did 4-player zombie co-op and they did it damn well. Tripwire already did horde survival mode and they did it damn well. Capcom is trying to emulate all these popular games, particularly aiming for a multiplayer focus, and instead of giving us a solid and unique product, they're content to give us a diluted and derivative product that someone else has already done way better.
So yeah, I don't think the last few RE games have been terrible, they're just mediocre, and there are games out there that do what they do far better to begin with. Capcom to me needs to stick to its roots, do what IT does best and do what IT'S good at, not what someone else is good at. And I really wish they'd drop the multiplayer. Remember Outbreak? Yeah, multiplayer's never really done so hot for RE. I want a good singleplayer Resident Evil survival horror experience. Co-op at most. Not team-based third person shooter multiplayer games with zombies and Resident Evil namedrops.

"By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion."Honestly Outbreak with four player RE 4 gameplay would have worked
My biggest issue with Resident Evil is how completely bush league Umbrella's approach to lab safety was.
It's a part of their charm.
I feel like Resident Evil is very much a prolific enough series that it's capable of making enough games to appeal to both the "Survival Horror" and "Horror action" camps at the same time. Which seems to be the way they're going with the Remake and Revelations 2 being followed up by a straight-up arena shooter.
Bleye knows Sabers.Capcom understanding how to do survival horror might not really be a thing anymore, because of their staff leaving and such. they've lost a lot of talent over the years, I think the only relevant person left is Shu Takumi (creator/head writer for Ace Attorney), everyone else like Kamiya and Mikami is off doing other stuff.
Um, what about Yoh Yoshinari?
Also, something I wanted to bring up.
A new Resident Evil movie is com—!
("We know! But it's the stupid-ass Milla Jovovich BS all over again!")
Hey! Let me finish! A new Resident Evil movie is coming and it's totally different from the Milla Jovovich movie! And it's in CG! See?
("Huh? Wha...?)
The script is from Makoto Fukami, who wrote for Psycho-Pass and School-Live!!
("Go on...")
And it's got music from Kenji Kawai!
("Isn't he the guy who did the music for Ghost in the Shell?")
The very same one! It'll be a totally original story with Chris Redfield, Rebecca Chambers, Leon Kennedy, and hopefully others from the games!
("Hmmmmmmm....")
And it's coming worldwide in 2017!
("Wait a minute, isn't that the same year as the next (and hopefully last) live-action Resident Evil movie?")
Uh...maybe?
("Hmmmm. We're considering pre-ordering our tickets for the Hype Train...")
Um...ok?

I was actually hoping that Capcom would keep making more of these CGI movies, the previous two were pretty good and were all that the live-action ones should have and failed miserably to do so, so I'm happy we will have more of them, and if it follows the same pattern as the previous two,we should expect RE 7 to come out shortly after this movie.
I'm MUCH more hyped for this movie than the Final Chapter(let's hope it IS Final Chapter. Then again, let's remember that Friday The 13th also had a "Final Chapter"...which was the 4th movie...out of a ten...And that's not counting Freddy vs. Jason neither the remake...),that's for sure.
I'm honestly hoping "worldwide release" means they're planning an English dub.
I mean, I'm not an über fan of RE, or zombies, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only who'd want this CGI movie to be in English.
And besides, there's the possibility that I might watch it. In the future. Although it would make sense to watch the other two CG RE movies first...
whhat makes you think it won't get an English release? It's Resident Evil, remember?
I don't know, I just have a sneaking suspicion that we might have to settle for subtitles...

I think the RE 2 remake might use assets that were used in The Umbrella Chronicles and/or Darkside Chronicles so the devs can save on time in creating new assets, but maybe they will really start from scratch.
If they reuse assets, then I hope they don't do what they did with the RE 1 HD remaster by just stretching all the textures and adding silly sharpening filters.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.
