But yes, if he winds up leaning too heavily on some flimsy Watsonian explanation for the inevitable titillation, while ignoring the Doylist angle, then I foresee a lot of facepalms in this game's future.

It'd be one thing if he manages to come up with an explanation that genuinely does make sense - like, people's clothes don't go with them when they travel to the dream-scape (or whatever the hell this place is), and it affects people of all genders equally. That would at least be consistent and somewhat thematically appropriate. But it seems just as likely that we're in for another "she blanks through her blank" situation.

Meet Madame Rosewell, she teleports through her tits. In fact, her tits, which are scientifically death standedly called teleportits, are actually big. As such, you can see the more Rosewell teleports through her tits, her teleportit tits became somewhat stronger and bigger as a result.

So, Kojima should just pull a Yoko Taro?

Kojima should just be honest like the Creator of Senran Kagura and Valkyrie Drive or George Kamitani and his own games (Dragons Crown, Odin Sphere, etC) and just say he likes boobs for the sake of liking them.

Like, seriously. This has broken my weirdness limit. I'm just going to ignore this, unsubscribe, and wait for the day I walk into a local Gamestop and see a picture of Naked Norman Reedus covered in octopus tentacles holding a fetus on a shelf somewhere. I'll know the game's done and I can actually figure out what the f'ck is going on, instead of obsessing over tiny details and stupidly vague symbolism - the day Hideo Kojima ever makes a video game that's utterly straightforward is the day the three major console companies settle their differences and merge into one, console-making conglomerate.

Boo. Hisss.

Finally, something that doesn't involve analyzing.

The game won't be a Horror game, there'll be moments where the game breaks the Fourth Wall, and there will be humor.

A Death Stranding clue that apparently nobody else found until now.

Double bump, because we have a news update!

Brojima has evidently found his female lead!

Yong has come up with 3 possibilities based on the clues he's scrounged up:

• Stefanie Joosten: Based on A) her visit to Guerrilla Games from a while ago and B) the fact that Kojima wore one of her merchandise hats in the most recent episode of HideoTube.
• Emma Stone: Based on A) the fact that La La Land has become one of Kojima's favorite movies (and Emma one of his favorite actresses) and B) the movie came from Summit Entertainment, which is owned by Lionsgate, which is the name on the beanie.
• Emily Blunt: Based on A) the fact that she was in Sicario, another Lionsgate movie that Kojima loves and B) Emily's one of his favorite actresses too.

While I'd have a heart attack of joy if it turns out to be Emma, I won't be surprised if it's Stefanie.

EDIT: If I could go on a tangent: it just hit me that Emily Blunt will be appearing in another Lionsgate movie which just so happens to feature a certain voice actresses who's worked with Kojima previously. Just blew my mind thinking about it.

Ok, you know what? Forget what I said.

I mean, I get what you're saying, and I don't know if he's ever had an actor/tress with that level of recognition working with him. It's just amusing that this would be seen as validation for his status.

Hideo Kojima's been revered/praised on the same level as creators like Stan Lee and Joss Whedon, at least to my knowledge.

I really should stress to you guys (and especially myself) that this is still a rumor. Having said that...

Holy Eff, I think (THINK!) I've called yet another thing.

That's it. Sony's E3 presentation will start (or end) with a gameplay video of Death Stranding and will reveal Emma Stone as the female lead, either like how they revealed Kratos in last year's E3 or how they revealed Mads in the TGA video last year.

I know E3 isn't until 3 months (it's every June, right?) from now, but screw it. I am with the Force and the Force is with me.

Somebody level with me. Is this what it's like to keep tabs on a Hideo Kojima-directed game?

That you find damning bits and pieces of what appears to be evidence and you somehow put two and two together, but then it gets to a point where you don't know what's a real piece of evidence or a Red Herring and you end up in a descent into madness?

Because at this point, I barely know what's real or not...

I stand by my previous statement.

I just want to see gameplay. The "stick" and "rope" analogy, or whatever it was, sounded interesting, kind of like Journey.
