The '60s actually had a Seinfield Is Unfunny "death of the hippie" moment. As the folk music wave crested and the Vietnam war wound down, we got the Disco era...with mock "hippe" funerals happening in places as the hippie became passe.
The Dead Kennedys were real protest music: angry, in your face punk rock... until they cashed in and politics changed. Green Day...I like their pop stuff but when they try to get political...sorry guys, you're not worthy to tune East Bay Ray's gituar. Given that many "politcal bands" are signed with major record labels...The Man Is Sticking It to the Man...so no..

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Something tells me you're close to my age - for which I'm only thankful.

"Did you expect somebody else?"I'm a child of The '80s, so I saw a lot of The '70s that carried over. Disney was a victim the Sienfield Is Unfunny trope because they have t be some "family friendly".
The movies and tv specials from the 70's, 80's are just as cringe-worthy and Totally Radical as those of The '90s and The New '10s. Only when their child starts to teh crazies, thanks to the internet we see it as it happens.
The lame writing, the sappy aesop at the end. I can't stand the Disney channel. I love Cartoon Network and anime, but I'd rather drink molten lead than watch any live action disney show.

(So I'm not completely irredeemable. I have not watched much of Star Trek, but what little I have seen I really did enjoy.)
I'm having to learn to pay the priceMidna said, "The original Super Mario Bros. and 2J are almost quaint compared to what the series became in the SNES era..." Understandable. I've played SMB 1 in the recent past, and thought it's amazing how there is no map, and few power-ups. And yes, I understand that SMB 1 builds on ideas from Donkey Kong as well as Mario Bros, and that it is similar but differetnt from Pitfall.
On watching Tsukasa Hojo's Cat's Eye for the first time, thirty years after it was made, it's fascinating. The girls avoid getting caught in clever ways. However, it would have seemed much more amazing if I'd watched it quite a few years ago.
Okay, we can still be friends.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseStar Control II. The game's combat controls are clunky and awkward, and the rest of the game is a prime example of a game giving you too much freedom. The galaxy map is so utterly massive and the game gives you little idea of where to go.
The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall.
I played the best one first and spoiled the rest for myself.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'I suppose Runescape could count as this for me? Back in high school, my girlfriend and a mutual friend tried to get me to play it. I tried it for about an hour or so and all I could think was, "Run, escape." It just bored me to death.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I finally got a chance to see "Hello Kitty" by Avril Lavigne...
I liked some of her music, it was a guilty pleasure. And "I'm with you" is a sweet love song...but "Hello Kitty?"
Yeah...it's bad. Not just the Unfortunate Implications, but the lines about "spin the bottle" and slumber parties...from a 29 year old "adult" woman.
My only ray of hope is that she'll be signing this horrid mess at state fairs and on Disney cruise ships well in to her 40's.

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48I think the point is that Seinfeld used to be considered good.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIt's still good. I watch it whenever it comes on and it's still hilarious
Oh really when?Exactly.
I don't think "Hello Kitty" was ever considered good.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThe reason it was made is because, even though her time in the spotlight is done here in America, she's Big in Japan. Like, doing the theme to a One Piece movie big. So this was her idea of a way to "thank" her audience, I suppose.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI had a feeling that's why she made it.
I wonder what the Japanese response to it is.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I have been reading various analysis as well as seen some playthroughs of MGS 2. Although I knew that the game was polarizing, I had no idea that the game was that polarizing that fans will not acknowledge its existence as the 'true' sequel to MGS 1. Fans got trolled, Critics got trolled, the whole gaming community got trolled and Kojima basically got what he wanted. Nowadays, most gamers aren't as shocked at the game as we now know that we are not going to play as Snake and the events of MGS2 may or may not be an illusion. The game was impressive for its time and it is strangely prophetic what with the whole Meme theory, now the internet is evolving at an alarming rate as well as censorship. MGS 2 is pretty much polarizing but it isn't as shocking nowadays as fans, haters and new players know what to expect nowadays.
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."Before recently, my main example would be how little interest I've ever had in playing the original Metroid.
However, The Pinball Arcade released High Speed a bit back, and playing it... it has not aged well. Uninteresting playfield, basically one goal at any given time (involving excessive shooting of target banks followed by the single ramp), and the only thing the audio does for me is remind me that the game exists to... glorify running red lights? It doesn't even make it sound exciting or rebellious, let alone the genuinely dangerous and counterproductive practice that it is.
It's hard to believe that it temporarily saved the pinball industry.
One more to add: Walrusguy. Yes, he basically revolutionized the Youtube Poop genre. But he's so dated now, with the sloppy editing and sources that everyone's seen to death and all that (primarily the former). His famous "Bowser the Foodstealer" saga and that one where Mario and Luigi travel through time are just about unwatchable now.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerYouTube Poop in general is kind of an outdated thing that's really gone on long past its expiration date. (And I'm talking as someone who used to make it and used to be decently popular for it.)
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I thought it was kind of weird they did a spoof of Frozen. I don't know, isn't that kind of recent?
I like to keep my audience riveted. They always do spoofs of popular movies ASAP to cash in on their hype.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseI prefer the YouTube Poop spoofs of the older stuff like The Legend of Zelda CDI games.
I like to keep my audience riveted.Mah boi!
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseInasmuch as I enjoyed the Nintendo 64 games, they are graphically inferior to most games nowadays but they amazingly stand up to the newer games in fun.
