I know the scene you're talking about, and its a good example, but I can't see it in that pic.
That image looks like a volcano with a lava flow. Way off what the trope is about.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI don't see anything either. I could guess, but even that would be weak.
Check out my fanfiction!Add me to the group that can't see jack in that picture.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."+1 for "pic says nothing about the trope in and of itself".
I can't even tell what that is, let alone how it illustrates the trope.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenQuite a few more Lazarus paintings here.
Don't think Lazarus was an example. He was dead dead and he came back from the dead. Not Only Mostly Dead.
Correct.
I thought it aint necessarily so, but it makes more sense that it'd be foreshadowing. Maybe third times the charm, how about Zero from Mega Man X?
Clock is set.
How about this pic?
He just looks dead to me.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. That is just Impaled with Extreme Prejudice
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIndeed.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
It'd be nice if Only Mostly Dead, Not Quite Dead, and Staying Alive had pictures to help distinguish them. This picture◊ comes from Asura's Wrath centuries after the character fell into lava. He's about to make an Unexplained Recovery.
EDIT 1: On second thought, yeah it really does just look like lava, a shame they didn't use the usual texture. There's a ton of Lazarus paintings, how about either of the first two on this page?
EDIT 2: And now I know Lazarus was dead instead of Only Mostly Dead... in that case, Zero from the Mega Man X series has had this happen at least twice, three if you count the transition to the Mega Man Zero games.
