It doesn't apply in-game. But it does seem out of game that most people who aren't able to make peace side with the quarians, and I'm wondering if that's worth noting somehow.
Yeah, but we're talking how they were intended to be seen. And actually, I sort of agree with your point on Earn Your Happy Ending as well - basically, as I see it, if any of them were meant to be the best, it was Synthesis, but I think it was really meant to be up to the player. The main point is that I think that Destroy definitely wasn't meant to be the best, so the Unfortunate Implications/What Measure Is a Non-Human? entry wouldn't really fit.

I included the "they are all bad" part as a tongue-in-cheek comment about my opinions.
I don't think so, because then we would be making a trope about the possible roleplay-ish reason the player in question had for not getting peace, and I think it isn't worth it. (note: I don't know if I understood what you meant)

The only thing that could appear as Unfortunate Implications is the whole "synthetics vs organics" nonsense that the Catalyst says. We see a lot of examples of synthetics being at worst Not So Different than organics and at best even more understanding and fast to forgive, yet the Catalyst goes on about how these two factions can't possible get along. All in all he says that these two similar groups of people could not reach peace unless one of them is eliminated or the two merge (so that the differences between the two groups dissapear). So it seems that this diversity causes endless, unavoidable war (which goes against the themes of the series as well)

Instead, I have learned a horrible truth of existence...some stories have no meaning. There's enough holes in the Catalyst's argument to fly a Reaper through, but that's still not Unfortunate Implications for the same reasons as before - there's no synthetic intelligences in real life. I mean, I understand that some people are drawing a more broader analogy, but I think it's a reach.
It just seems like this is basically an out-of-universe example of the trope: despite the geth being portrayed more sympathetically, most of the players I've encountered that couldn't make peace chose to side with the quarians, because they're more humanlike (or in some cases because they romanced Tali). We do this kind of thing with similar tropes sometimes, so I was wondering if it might fit, on the YMMV page if nowhere else.
But it sounds like it might be more trouble then it's worth, so probably best to leave it out.
It is a bit of a reach, yes, and I didn't see many people sharing my opinion on this, so I wouldn't mind my previous interpretation of Unfortunate Implications not appearing. Sometimes we tend to force too many tropes into a work heheheh.
My opinion is that the issue regarding the quarian-geth peace is basically a possible reaction that some players could have had when taking a choice, which also seems to be a reach.

Instead, I have learned a horrible truth of existence...some stories have no meaning.Like I said, I'm prepared to drop it.
Went through the first folder in the main page for 3. Only one problem that I saw.
Bag Of Spilling: The first bullet needs rewording. Your guns and armor does not carry over, and you get to buy them regardless of whether you had them in 2. Bullet 3 needs to be deleted, or at least noted to be an aversion.
#IceBearForPresidentWouldn't the aversion actually be an Old Save Bonus?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Actually yeah.
#IceBearForPresidentCame across this lovely sentence on the Better Than Canon page. All pot holes are preserved.
I've already reverted it to the way it was before the immature stab. Is there a way to view all of the pages that link to a specific page, in this case the Mass Effect 3 page? (I have nothing better to do today than prowl the internet anyway. X3)
"Fine! If you're so enamored of that object, then I suggest you get your own feces analyzer."If you click on the button labeled "related" (to the right of the "edit page"/"locked" button on the top), you can see a list of every page where the current page is linked to.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Oh well, I agree that the pothole needed to be removed. That was vandalism. Anyways, is there a page someone needs help with?

Instead, I have learned a horrible truth of existence...some stories have no meaning. So any word on whether the pages will be unlocked soon?
#IceBearForPresidentWell, since the vandal still hasn't given up, I don't think it would be a good idea.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.The vandal stroke again on both the Broken Base (Videogames) and Internet Backdraft (Videogames) pages. I edited back to normal both entries. This is getting tiring...

Yeah, I got him.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Which vandal was this? I thought the pages were locked due to general controversy, not because of any single specific troublemaker.
It's because of a single person with a lot of time on his hands and a lot of sockpuppets. He uses proxies. He also posted on the forums under the names Remus D. Duck, Kaidan Shepard and Caius Ragnarok.
Instead, I have learned a horrible truth of existence...some stories have no meaning.Perhaps not related to the original purpose of this thread, but still some Mass Effect related cleanup that needs to be done: Could someone familiar with Mass Effect take a look at the Abusive Precursors page? The section on Mass Effect is rather long and contains many bullet points. I'm not sure what needs to go, but I suspect that at least some of it does.

Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. Not really sure how to condense all that down, but yeah, some of it needs to go. This is why "time-point writing" is such a problem.
Shortened it a bit by cutting a few unnecessary details. Still needs some work, mainly by combining the remaining points, but it'll be easier now that it's shorter.
Though I would like a second opinion on a few points, especially the quarian portion and the Reaper's capability for indoctrination. I don't think the former really qualify as precursors seeing as how they are a part of this generation, and I'm not sure whether the latter bit qualifies as natter or is a good fit.
#IceBearForPresidentI cleaned it up a bit—didn't do much, admittedly, but it's a bit more organized now, I think. I don't normally like using third-level bullets, but I think they're appropriate in this case; there's just too much there for one paragraph.
As for the quarians and indoctrination: I think the indoctrination is definitely appropriate for the article. After all, much of the Lost Technology they left behind is specifically designed to indoctrinate anyone who gets near it, and that definitely fits with the trope, IMO. Mention should probably be made of the Keepers as well.
The quarians are a bit more tricky; personally, I'm fine either way re: having them on the page.
So are there any plans to unlock the page right now? Things seem to have calmed down - it's been three months.
Again, it's only been a few days since his last tantrum. He's waited weeks before.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.And there are still plenty of Mass Effect fans pissed over the ending to 3, keeping it locked until that dies down completely would save us a lot of headaches.
There's no best ending, they are all bad . Err actually I would avoid mentioning "Earn Your Happy Ending", "best endings", etc. It's something too YMMV even for YMMV. All endings have pros and cons (I am talking about pros and cons in-universe, not about their quality) and it's not clear if any ending is better than the other. The only "bad" ending is that one where Earth gets vaporized, the others are in the same level.
Unfortunate Implications does not apply because of the reasons that were mentioned previously.
What Measure Is a Non-Human? also doesn't apply to the Geth-Quarian War, and Tali always says that Legion has a soul.
