Different question. Would it be too out of character for Shinn and Athrun to have a normal conversation in the Minerva's cafeteria - specifically, the following conversation?

Anyone ever thought about what would happen if Lelouch vi Britannia would be thrown into the Universal Century circa One Year War? Which side would he bolster with his talents?

Also, about that proposal of CCA!Amuro Peggy Suing back to the One Year War... what do you guys think about him repainting the RX-78 into the Nu Gundam's white/black color scheme, complete with Londo Bell logo on the shoulder?

Who Lelouch sides with depends on what he makes of their methods and motives.

That, or he'd take the existence of Char Aznable as a challenge ("Brilliant mysterious guy who hides his face? That's my shtick!")

In my opinion Lelouch would most likely hate the Earth Federation for being so grossly corrupt he'd see them as a horrible abomination of the EU and Chinese Federation.

For Zeon Lelouch would (Again in my opinion.) find Zeon to be Britannia but on crack. Not even Britannia would go so far as to kill half the population of Humanity for any reason.

Without any of his compatriots or Suzaku, I'd expect Lelouch to find a way to act as a third party, condemning both sides for the Atrocities of the running War.

To make that into a good story you'd have to find a way to get Lelouch a (and I stress this.) MASSIVE reserve of troops, resources, and infrastructure. All of these are easy enough to find in the U.C. Really I could see Lelouch getting Side Six and the other neutral colony clusters to join up with him, then infiltrate/raid Side Seven for V Project Data or head to Pezun and "Convert." Some of their scientists to aid his cause. Either way it gets Lelouch all of the needed factors to offer something better to the UC. The Tech level and whether or not he can make a difference in the One Year War however, depends on when Lelouch arrives (After the One Week War/Operation British? At the Start of the original series? Towards the end of the OYW?) Plus how does the issue of Geass get addressed? Would heading into a completely different universe cut off his power?

I love the idea as UC needs more quality Fanfiction, ESPECIALLY in the Crossover section, here's hoping you'd do it.

I was actually thinking that Lelouch would ally himself with Char. That's the closest thing UC has to a third faction at this time, considering the AEUG wouldn't be around for a few years.

As you pointed out, another issue is the one of Geass. Does it have anything to do with Newtype powers? Lelouch was always a pretty bad pilot - but if he can use a psycommu, that turns around real fast.

Maybe he'd join the AEUG and try to shape it into something that would oppose more than just the Titans.

But the AEUG hasn't formed yet. I don't know when exactly it was founded but it definitely wasn't anytime before 0083.

The reason why I thought he'd join Char is because of Char's animosity towards the Zabis plus his fame allowing him to visit certain people in certain facilities without raising suspicion - people Lelouch can Geass.

Actually come to think of it the two are pretty similar, only Lelouch didn't have a colony to drop. This does not reflect well on Lelouch.

Lelouch also had a Morality Pet/Chain in the form of Nunally, though, which somewhat helped him keep in mind the "create a kinder, gentler world" part of his goal that comes after the "OBLITERATE BRITANNIA!!!" part.

And there's the big question: if Lelouch came into the UC alone, what should be his motivation for interfering in the war? He's not the kind of guy for whom For the Evulz works...

First off, at what point in the CG timeline are we talking?

At the right time in the war, Lelouch may believe that mutually assured destruction is an inevitable conclusion to the war unless he takes action.

A few more thoughts for this fic.

The more I think about it the more I realize that if Lelouch doesn't have someone to act as his Moral Compass or keep him from going completely nutty then the UC is in for a world of hurt. I'd send Lelouch in with one of two things.

1: A way back to his universe. Be it some act of Geass wizardry or Trans-Dimensonal tech, if he has a way back then he's got a clear goal to work towards.

2:Someone has to go with Lelouch. Send Kallen, Nunnally, Suzaku, C.C., Jeremiah, somebody has to with him and be trapped with Lelouch in the UC.

An interesting factor to keep in mind when plotting this as well.

Remember Lelouch's physical frailty? Yeah that's gonna hinder his Mobile Suit piloting on Land and it'd probably kill him if he went down to earth and then tried to come back up.

As for when to do it... That's a tough call. I'd hate for it to be any time during R2 since Leliuch goes a wee bit cuckoo around R2. Maybe during late R1, say just before The SAZJ?

I am only passingly familiar with Code Geass, but it might be interesting if the phenomenon that gets Lelouch into the Universal Century is at least partially a product of psycho-fields... like perhaps they create a weakness in the UC dimension that people can fall in through, you know? Say he then turned up in the UC right around the time of the Axis Shock.

If you pull Lelouch in from a point in the CG timeline where he can be certain that Japan would be boned without him, he might be desperate enough to try and manipulate events in the UC towards building more psychoframes and smashing them together in the hopes of creating a psycho-field that he can use to get home.

Unrelated SEED idea. Would it be too forced of a joke to have Heine pull some acrobatic awesomeness in his GOUF Ignited and, upon being asked by Luna how he did it, he smirks, pats her shoulder and quips "This is no ZAKU, girl."?

I think everyone's done that. Hell, I'm doing a "This is no Serpent" joke among my many planned UC references in my work.

I'm not so sure everyone does that; I've personally never seen that particular joke in any Gundam fanfiction I've ever read.

Still, the hilarity of that scene would be only second to the one where Gladys is looking for Luna to inform her that she gets the shore leave she asked for, asks Shinn about it - and a visibly nervous Shinn says that he hadn't seen Luna in a while, despite Luna currently being less than five meters from him, in his room, in a partial state of undress, and Gladys can see her hair sticking out from beneath the blanket on Shinn's bed. No, they were not having sex - but they were still violating fraternization regs and a superior officer just walked in on them. Of course Shinn would be scared.

The "No Zaku, boy! NO ZAKU!" line is one of the oldest and most cherished Gundam memes. You haven't looked hard enough.

And then the punchline is Talia Gladys giving Shinn a condom and asking him that if they can't be good, they'd better be careful.

Cue Luna popping out of the bed and freaking out along with Shinn.

Nope. Gladys just pretends that she didn't see anything this time and neither Shinn nor Luna give any reason to intervene later (ie. they keep their relationship private and do their job as before). Shinn doesn't even realize she noticed Luna until Gladys is already gone.

Luna would be the primary supplier of hilarity, mostly via her Genre Savvyness^note "Called it." is her Catchphrase and mid-combat trolling taunts.

Another unrelated idea. What do you guys say to the prospect of Sayla getting to contribute a bit better during the original series due to Revil sending the White Base a fully kitted-out Ground Type Gundam? Wouldn't even be that much of a burden concerning resupply, since it has an 80% parts commonality with the GM... though it also makes me wonder: could a Gundam[G] be converted for space use?

The Origin actually does that exact thing. Instead of a [G]Gundam, Sayla and Sleggar get custom GM's.
