This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Except the meter would be off.
But yeah. Doesn't do anything for the Cyborg page.
Not right away, not right awayI would like to move the page quote from Mistaken for Index to Out-of-Context Eavesdropping, where it fits much better. Objections?
none from me.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.So, is it alright to remove the Cyborg quote, or does someone know a better quote? (Because I don't)
I'd say remove.

The self-demonstrating quote on Forced Tutorial feels like a Overly Long Gag. Can it be shortened?
Good grief, that quote is even longer than the page description. I think we can just replace it with something from the Quotes page. I like the Penny Arcade one.
For Cyborg, the obvious choices would seem to be either;
Terminator: (with or without italicised bit)
Kyle Reese: The Terminator's an infiltration unit, part man, part machine. Underneath, it's a hyper-alloy combat chassis - micro processor-controlled, fully armored. Very tough. But outside, it's living human tissue - flesh, skin, hair, blood, grown for the cyborgs. The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy. But these are new, they look human.
...or the sequel:
John Connor: Holy shit! You're really real! I mean, you're like a machine underneath, right? But sort of alive outside?
Terminator: I'm a cybernetic organism. Living tissue over a metal endoskeleton.

I like the second quote.
According to the discussion page, Quotes.Cash Cow Franchise is mostly negative in tone. Are there any positive quotes?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThat's one of those tropes that's inherently complainy by nature. I can't even imagine how one could express the idea "this piece of art was created for the sole purpose of cashing in on its brand recognition" in a positive way. (Why do we care, anyway? As long as the page quote itself is alright.)
For Forced Tutorial, we could move the current "quote" to the Self-Demonstrating/ namespace. Any of the first four on the Quotes tab looks good to me, though the Penny Arcade one could use some trimming.

What's better for Mistaken for Index, include the punchline or leave it as just the relevant first line? (Unless anyone else has a better quote)
Chandler: Oh, I think this is the episode of Three's Company where there's some kind of misunderstanding!
Phoebe: Oh. Well then I've already seen this one. (turns off TV)
I'd support moving the self-demonstrating version of Forced Tutorial. Would the stinger have to be removed as well?
Not right away, not right awayWouldn't make much sense as it is, should be altered or deleted I reckon.
For Make Me Wanna Shout, I think it's appropriate that Skyrim gets the page quote but just "FUS RO DAH!" is too in-jokey. The alternative on the Quotes tab is better:
"They say Ulfric Stormcloak murdered the High King... with his voice! Shouted him apart!"
I'm down with that suggestion. While I am a Skyrim fan, I fully recognize that the existing quote doesn't make much sense to someone who isn't.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Created the page for SelfDemonstrating.Forced Tutorial and moved the old "quote" there. Not sure how to trim down the Penny Arcade suggestion. Seems concise enough for me.
Oh yeah, that one's fine actually. It was the one above it I was thinking of.
I'm leaning towards the Penny Arcade quote myself.

Made the change for Forced Tutorial and Cyborg.
Proposal for Protest Song: "To fan the flames of discontent."
It's the motto of the Little Red Songbook, published by the IWW since 1909, probably the greatest continuous collection of protest songs ever.
The quote right now is fitting, but it's too long and verbose to match the examples of the trope.
The quote for Explosive Overclocking doesn't address the trope actually happening - we are merely assured via Pot Hole that it happens soon afterwards.
I like the Shards Of Honor quote down there.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanFor Explosive Overclocking, I like the Star Trek Voyager one.
The quote on Future Shadowing seems pointless without context. What do you think?
Agreed.
I'd like to propose moving the quote on What Measure Is a Non-Human? (which is about the questionable personhood of non-human sentient beings in general) to Not Even Human (it's perfectly alright to kill non-humans, no moral qualms involved). I'd suggest replacing it with this for WMIANH:
"I don't give a damn if you're a machine, Maxwell. Are you a man?"
— Winston Churchill, Doctor Who, "Victory of the Daleks"

Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Page quote for Cyborg consist of a ridiculous poem about a cyborg charmer that describes absolutely nothing about what cyborgs are. You can change the word into "man" and it would probably say the same thing.
