I've thought about it, and I think we should make a forum about aspiring amateur authors making their own stories around here. We could bounce plot-bunnies, critique our works and review our progress together, for the fun of it.

I'm the one that made Soundscape. I'm thinking of expanding the roster of species, but I'm not sure over what to use. Care to give suggestions?

I'm that guy working on Dangerous Detour. It's german, so there probably won't be many people who can help me. :( It's about anthropomorphic characters, so there probably won't be many people who would actually read this. :(

It's in the same section as On-Topic Conversations.

I'm writing a series.

Meaning: I'm rewriting the first chapter over and over again because I just can't seem to play my cards right with it. :p

I'm writing a story on hitRECord.

My two main goals are to fix the pacing issues and get away from the almost Talking Heads. This started as a script idea, and I decided to write as prose, and now I also want it to be converted to proper script at some point, so now I've got chunks of near-solid dialogue that aren't QUITE detailed enough for prose.

I'll start the second draft when I'm actually done with the story. Right now I'm just having fun with Urban Fantasy and Celtic Mythology.

I also have a webcomic.

Updating at glacial, very irregular pace.

Contains some profanities and senseless violence.

I'd post the link here, but I have a new account, so if any of you ever happen to be on Wattpad.com, look up my novel "Ships in the Night." It should have a cover image of a moonlit bay (and no, it's not the 1D fan fiction that will also appear). (No, really)

I have a handful of original concepts on hand, but the most valuable one to me is one called Fanz. After going through many different reimaginings of the concept, I've accepted it as a teens-and-up animated urban fantasy-soft science fiction-supernatural horror-action-blue dramedy about a partial alternate history of this world in which people who are mega-fans of animation, sports, tabletop games, video games, music, and films have superhuman abilities (though rarely make superhero or supervillain alter-egos and usually just do good or evil as themselves with powers), and specifically focused on six weirdly eclectic young people (four eighth graders, an eleventh grader, and a fifth grader) being trained by their eccentric and unconventional high school principal (basically myself as I would act in a cartoon world) and other administrative staff members based on some of my old friends from fifth grade how to use their powers and make sense of the confusing world they live in. I fantasize about it as an Adult Swim show in the 2020s, though if it actually does go into genuine production as an animated series, it will probably be vastly different from the way I like to think of it as. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

It can't be helped.

Someone made a really terrible review show. Yeah I review music. Since I'm just starting out I'm experimenting with different types of humor. My next video will be a deadpan review of The 5th Wave. I also plan on some humorless reviews of a couple albums I consider near perfect. Next is probably In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.

Also, if anyone is wondering, I use Sony Vegas 13 to edit and the microphone is built into the computer.

When Camp Nanowrimo rolls around, I'm going to be writing something I've entitled This Silly Thing Called Reality. It's exactly the Mind Screw the title implies, and alternate worlds are a major theme.

My Deconstruction / Reconstruction of the Asian-American Gangster stereotype in comic books seems to be gaining a lot of steam. My gangster-superhero character has technically appeared already in a Hitrecord project, so I'm going to post the script's prologue on Hitrecord after another two or three weeks of tweaking, because in the first week of May I'll be having the script read by my theater group.

Also, my in-progress novel Moonflowers has taken a pretty unexpected turn. I forgot to bring folklore from my own fucking heritage into the story until around last week. Like, I brought in Chinese folklore, Celtic folklore, general shamanistic/animistic beliefs, Hades and Persephone, and even a tiny bit of Vodun, but somehow I forgot about the Philippines, where I'm actually from. So I'm like "FUCK IT, WHERE MY FILIPINO DEITIES AT?"

And now the moon-goddess Mayari has shown up really fucking late to help my part-Filipino-American family with the Wild Hunt's curse on them. Since Spain Catholicized the fuck out of the Philippines for the past few centuries, the once-powerful moon-deity barely has a foothold outside of the islands or the Filipino diaspora. And even then, she didn't hear about the family's trouble for a month because the Filipino side of the family doesn't even know her name, to say nothing of actually asking for help.

Part of me wants to rewrite the damn story to bring her in earlier, but I'm pretty sure "LOOK GUYS, A MOON-DEITY IN A STORY CALLED MOONFLOWERS WITH CRAPTONS OF MOON AND CELESTIAL IMAGERY" is enough. Also, I'm pretty sure readers are going to spot something in the finished story that I didn't even realize I put in.
