That actually reminds me of a phrase I've wanted to use: "Never mad science magic, it doesn't end well!" Which, admittedly, is the main reason there are so many Wights in my magical settings. Speaking of, I've pretty much formed VU!Loki's characterization on the spot, so her Establishing Character Moment (act like a normal pretty little princess and say weird shit) also helped establish her to me. So, did anyone else here ever have such accounts?

Besides that, regarding Space Liner I'm not sure if I should wait for Miller before posting for the Sickbay group. I'll likely post for Jake later today, who admittedly would point out the weirdness of Phagora's conception. Other than that, I'll be posting for The Midnight Stitcher soon enough- I was incredibly embarrassed that I Failed a Spot Check regarding Tanuki's post for Durnem.

Just to note; I was in a bit of a rush when I posted last for Ethoya and have made some changes and clarifying edits. The gist mostly remains the same, but a few tweaks and differences.

Speaking of edits, I did include a thing for Jake with my latest post. Though regarding Ethoya: Well, Discoverer doesn't want to subvert his people's free will. If making them slaves is the only answer, he'll just feel even shitier.

In general I feel like I'm going stir-crazy. I really want to introduce some more characters, but I'm not sure which groups would be accepting. Does anyone else gets those moments their brain feels like it is burning, wanting to do something (however uncertain) you can't really focus or want to do anything else?

Well, Discoverer doesn't want to subvert his people's free will. If making them slaves is the only answer, he'll just feel even shitier.

That was the thought Ethoya couldn't put her finger on; while she only meant, personally, to suggest that the Discoverer's people should do it to themselves (not terribly different from using recreational drugs, which, obviously, she has no issues with), it simply wouldn't occur to her, personally, to assault another's mind that way.

(An interesting tack, I suppose, would be to argue that there really is no such thing as free will, a relatively common doctrine in many philosophical circles. I'm skipping a few steps, but from that perspective, the choice is really between the Discoverer's people suffering as they are enslaved by their own misery, ennui, and base natures, over which their so-called "free will" has absolutely no control, or liberating them from the same. But there's another idea outside of Ethoya's folksy, hedonistic philosophy. And against my own Enlightenment values, I hasten to add.)

Hmm, how differently would things have gone otherwise? I would find that useful information when it comes to further fleshing out Discoverer's personality. Oh, now I think about it, since I eventually want Natalie to spot him: What would Ethoya's opinions be of the nanoslime?

May or may not post tonight. My periods of activity have become very weird since Thursday. But I'm on break now for the next week, so I hope to be posting more frequently, if not every day. smile

On the subject, can you give me any estimate on when you might post in Frontier, Ladytanuki?

What would Ethoya's opinions be of the nanoslime?

Mystified, initially; many Western and Japanese tropes don't readily translate into Uelane when played heavily. (Ethoya's knowledge of sci-fi tropes in particular is limited to something akin to Planetary Romances, and even those are pretty new to her.) And Natalie has a tendency to give names without quite explaining them, which wouldn't help. But while conversations about their worlds would be a mine of miscommunications and misunderstandings, they might get along splendidly speaking of more down-to-Earth and universal topics.

[up][up]How about soon?

Also, as I am randomly looking over Kkutwar's post in Space Liner:

Speaking of which, how much of your magic have you taught Princess Emille so far? I'm sure she must be quite the student.

I actually LOL'd when I read that, because Emille learning about magic is a major plot point of Porcelain Wonderland. Though she doesn't learn about it from Lucina. Needless to say, this is another interesting reaction I'm going to have to write when my turn comes...

Oh, is there any Space Liner character capable of teaching magic? Jake Ronso would try that as the first option, before offering something more... Drastic.

Hmm... Minerva in theory could teach magic(spell PDFs), but she prefers guns. Mari would inquire as to wether they want to take the easy way(become a youkai) or the hard way(become a monk). Junko would attempt a more hands-on form of training. Kokoto... wouldn't want to teach magic due to her powers being the deforming variety.

[up][up][up]Well, Sinistrina would make for an excellent instructor... but I think it would be better if it wasn't one of my characters, especially not one from the same story as Emille.

[up][up]Yeah, none of those would be good options. Junko maybe might work, though Full-Contact Magic would just be absurd on a doll.

Speaking of magic, I totally forgot that I could have had Lucina react more strongly to Phagora's comment about witches (and I am about 90% sure she indirectly mentioned Rebecca there)... but I guess I could do that in my next post, as she was too busy dealing with Emille's reaction and Phagora devouring that pig anyway.

OK, hiding is over, I wanted to bring Cira back after the complete remake and felt Dream wasn't fitting because another version of him had been there before. HOWEVER, the character was so heavily changed and updated that Dark!Cira and Light?Cira/Sii-razh are for most purposes not to be considered the same person.

So Sii-razh is more like a Lighter and Softer Spiritual Successor or something. Or not. Still adjusting things. But if you assume they are not the same person at all it will be easier, even if in my mind they kinda are alternate versions of each other. Anyway, I would prefer to have introduced Sii-razh/Light?Cira to Dream... but then I wouldn't resist making him interact with Gwenafer, which could have been interesting, but would be a terrible, terrible distraction.

[up][up][up][up]At the very least, she'd learn how to roundhouse kick people. Maybe learn how to punch magic at things. Junko's more of a "teach skills to not die horribly as a Magical Girl".

Of course, all my technical teachers are either on another world(from which I'm currently not planning on dragging into Space Liner), or would flat out deny teaching a doll magic.

Well, Light?Cira/Sii-Razh knows something that may be called magic, but it is probably different from magic of most settings, and is only one of the many types of magic in mine... Still, it could work? But he is busy exploring ruins... I mean, an abandoned theater tongue

EDIT: the typo war carries on.

Hrrm... And here I thought attempting to subdue Maggie in the same post was being hasty.

I'll spring my attempt at temporarily incapacitating Maggie, or fail trying on my next post.

Matter-of-fact, I'm going to start doing dice rolls for this shit. Which means I should probably start coming up with stat sheets for my folks... which I would have gotten around to anyway.

@Eterna: Wait, that was Cira!? Damn, maybe I should have had Sinistrina interact with him after all. I've been wanting to do that in Dream II, but then he disappeared from there and I lost that opportunity. Though all I'd have to do is have her take Rebecca to the theater and that can still happen. (In fact, I'm surprised you're putting him in the theater rather than Club Pluto... but I guess the former is fitting too.) Then they can start a necromancy club there. evil grin

Daird, are you fine with that idea? And maybe drag Ryya there (and Kokoro if she isn't all freaked about it) just for the lulz?

In other news... I'm in a perfect position to have the Four Bardic Sisters all suffer some really terrible fate. All four are in some sort of danger, and all I'd have to do is escalate it. I'll hopefully post with Ferisen soon, and let's just say... it won't be pretty. Like she said, souls easily detach from the body, which if done for too long will kill the person. So if Eterna and Will don't want Tagui and Ruka to be in mortal peril, I think I can have Ferisen send them off to another Dream location before that happens.

[up][up]Heh, I've been thinking a lot about stats for my characters myself... specifically The Six Stats, and how they would be distributed if they needed to reach a total of 70. For the example of the Four Bardic Sisters:

Gliosem: STR 7, DEX 9, CON 12, CHA 16, INT 12, WIS 14 (Quirky Bard)
Ferisen: STR 7, DEX 10, CON 10, CHA 10, INT 18, WIS 15 (classic Squishy Wizard)
Emriel: STR 12, DEX 18, CON 9, CHA 13, INT 8, WIS 10 (classic Fragile Speedster)
Amiluet: STR 10, DEX 14, CON 12, CHA 12, INT 14, WIS 10 (Jack of All Stats)
And Sinistrina for the heck of it: STR 4, DEX 10, CON 14, CHA 10, INT 20, WIS 14 (STR as a Dump Stat)

@ladytanuki

Dark!Cira was a necromancer, but more in an almost priest-like, "speaker of the dead" sense or as a Willing Channeler of their rage than as a reanimator, and current Cira, while capable of necromancy, is generally interested in other things (like curses) and finds "mere" corpse reanimation tasteless.

On the other hand he does deal with spirits, as well as magical objects or locations, or immortal magi, and he could decide to turn himself into a lich or a variation of one if it was within his reach, consequences be damned... so it does make sense to make him interact with someone who faced the consequences and found out they aren't pretty.

EDIT: Wait, don't kill Feri! Tagui could try to push her back into her body with his power after he realized it wasn't trap, which would happen fast if she started fading or unraveling ir being dragged away. All at the cheap price of making him go blind.

@Tanuki: Is there something specific you're wanting to accomplish regarding Emriel? Noire is mainly having her freak out because she's been presented representatives of two different groups who she thinks might be the Original Angels. Of course, 'Teal Mouth' also more or less claimed that she's actually Noire so...

@Miller: Hmm, should I wait for you first then? Admittedly I'm not feeling the drive to post today (I'm highly wanting to watch the Power Rangers movie), though nonetheless think it would be prudent for me to post for Gabriel & Anna before Celica arrives- I can definitely see Gabriel being somewhat embarrassed/surprised to be hugged by a cute gynoid like Minerva.

More generally, I'm starting to wonder if I should fill people in more often when I'm hoping for their characters to notice/react to certain things my characters say/do. Like, I'm surprised none of the Starlight group reacted to Jake pulling a bunch of flowers from nowhere- Figured Shireen or Phagora would note the edibility of some flower types.

[up][up]Makes sense. In terms of becoming a lich, I'd imagine Rebecca would strongly discourage it, while Sinistrina would be taking Cira's side (in a very snarky way). Sounds like their capabilities fall right into Cira's field of interest otherwise. Plus so far it seems that Cira would take the opposite attitude toward necromancy that Moreena did in Dream II, so that would be interesting from Sinistrina's perspective. Though overall, I guess this means the two don't absolutely have to interact - I'll see what Daird thinks.

And I don't plan on killing Ferisen per se, or at least not having her lose her sentience and ability to interact with others. Since the Four Bardic Sisters drugged themselves to end up in Dream, if they die in there, they'd potentially be trapped in the Dream as a non-communicative spirit for a very long time (I got the idea from Inception, where if you die in a dream while drugged, you end up in limbo). So that would give them a very good reason to ensure that their body and/or soul survive at all costs. So no, Tagui doesn't have to go blind - and it would seem odd that he would make that sacrifice for someone he doesn't like (at least that's my impression) anyway.

[up][nja]I think Lucina and Emille just would have seen it as a common parlor trick. For Emriel, I was imagining a full-on argumentative fight between her and Noire (the latter does have her sword at the ready) with Ashleigh being stuck between as a peacemaker.
