3kliksphilip is the name of a group of Edutainment Youtube channels, hosted by the eponymous Philip Dyer. It is split up into three channels that focus on their own different topics and themes:

• 3kliksphilip is the most popular of all the channels, which focuses on news updates for Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO for short) and its Mission-Pack Sequel: Counter Strike 2 (CS2 for short), as well as the many in-game tests he's done within it. It also houses their Hammer map editor tutorials.
• 2kliksphilip is geared towards talking about other not-counter-strike games, general technology essays, internet culture and his adventures into AI Upscaling.
• kliksphilip focuses on Philip talking about his personal and internet life viewpoints, his trips abroad, as well as how his other channels are doing. Uploads of music he and his father have created also ends up on here.

Using the name 3kliksphilip as a collective name for the above channels is kind of a misnomer, as while it is the name of one of the channels, the oldest of them, and it's the most popular channel, they all differ in content (as described above), so it's not strictly accurate to credit 2kliksphilip for 3kliksphilip works or vice versa.^note Philip has tried to combat this for at least himself, with them preferring the "Klik-empire" when referring to all of their channels.In part because of Pop Culture Osmosis, this page also uses the 3kliksphilip name, but makes an effort to differentiate between channels whenever possible.

The name, as Philip explains here, derives from an old group name him and his friends used called "the three-click-a-teers", and it eventually morphed into "3kliksphilip" later on down the line. When they branched out into more broader topics, the names of the other channels got different designations too.

Philip also has a website, as well as a Twitter and even a subreddit. He is also one part of the Youtube channel CubicleBrothers, which is more off-beat and is full of game clips starring his friends that don't really fit anywhere else.

Let's go back in time, back...back...back... to the start of the tropes list:

• all lowercase letters: kliksphilip, 2kliksphilip and 3kliksphilip are all spelled with lowercase letters.
• Anti-Climax: Case Unboxing Millionaire #6 only lasts twenty seconds until Philip gets the knife skin 20 rolls in.
• April Fools' Day: 2021 has Philip publish two videos; one on 3kliksphilip which is silly, the other video on 2kliksphilip the following day which is treated dead seriously:
  • Atomic Amnesia Won Everything, which is a follow-up to a video they made about making a CS:GO music kit, but every song was replaced with the fan-favourite "Atomic Amnesia" song.
  • Userbenchmark - the April Fools that never ends, a review of the UserBenchmark site, and their weird obsession since 2018 with singing praises to Intel processors, while shunning AMD processors, despite other reviewers coming to the exact opposite conclusions to UserBenchmark's tests (which, conveniently, use metrics like "E-FPS", specific to their own site, and their metrics are so bad, the /r/intel subreddit has banned any benchmark posts on their CPU's). Phillips reasoning for making the video was to show how funny some of their reviews can be for those who know about PC hardware, and how dangerous their reviews are to those not in the know, especially since their benchmarks are among the first in Google's search results for a given CPU and GPU. This would continue for 2022 where Userbenchmark found increasingly petty reasons to shun AMD processors.
• ASMR Video:
  • THE CSGO Visibility Update, which has Philip talk in an almost whispering voice, as to not wake anyone up at 5am in the morning.
  • Lots of clicky buttons is full of...well, lots of clicky buttons.
• Author Appeal:
  • Outside of CS:GO and CS2, Philip seems to like the Deus Ex Universe games, and has inserted a few of the memetic lines of JC Denton into their videos. DiRT Rally is another game they've shown skill in, he's used Control as an example of destructible physics, and has also used his own Memetic Badass avatar Odgrub in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for a web series of its own. The Spyro series seems to be a nostalgia spot for him, even showing off the games' impressive graphics settings here for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy over on 2kliksphilip.
  • Using Topaz Gigapixel AI to upscale images whenever he can get away with it. It started out as a test of the product, in which 2kliksphilip upscaled old Counter Strike textures, as well as any images they had on their hard drive, and has on more than one occasion had verbal tics comparing his AI Upscaling tendencies to that of a drug addiction. For his 900K subscriber video, 3kliksphilip upscaled the skyboxes from the original Counter Strike with surprisingly good results.
• Bizarchitecture: CSGO Vs Reality is all about doors that don't align with their hole in the wall, space behind doors that get taken up by another portion of the map, and illogical window placement.
• Captain's Log: Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic, Kliksphilip has given monthly reports on life in the UK, as well as his opinions on the situation.
• Cool Mask: His Youtube channel picture on 3kliksphilip is of him with a falling surgical facemask photoshopped on top of his face.
• Comically Missing the Point: In the Leet Crew comparison video, the final variant of the then-new model update for the team has Phillip completely ignore the Race Lift for comedic effect, and says this;
  "He's got some larger glasses, but asides from that, not a lot has changed with this model at all. Oh, apart from the obvious thing....He's had a haircut."
• Continuity Nod: This video about eating a kilo of gummy bears gets mentioned in this video about the best subreddits:
  Philip: (talking about the forbidensnacks subreddit): ...and these gummy bears, which are actually soap. Not that gummy bears would fool me. I went off them a while ago...
• Cluster F-Bomb: The video on CSGO's swearing block list has him swear constantly. Justified, given that the entire point of the video is to report on words that are blocked, and ones that are not.
• Crossing the Desert: His videos on the Wadi Rum Desert (which he also visited at night), Jordan, and Petra qualify for this, as they were essentially holiday logs.
• Creator Breakdown: Invoked by Philip as a reason he created "The Neighbours Upstairs" on kliksphilip. According to the video description, his neighbours were being so loud and interfering with his work so often that Phillip made an entire two minute video out of revenge, making as much noise as possible while doing mundane tasks (like loudly waking up, loudly stomping down the stairs, dropping his dumbbells for no reason while working out), and it gets increasingly more and more weird as it goes on.
• Destination Defenestration: He created a new community game mode for CS:GO, "Defenestration", which is all about going through glass panels and rescuing the hostage in an unlikely location. He asked the mapping community to submit their ideas to him, and he hosted them on his server for review.
• Did Not Think This Through: Misunderstood videos of mine is all about when his videos give people the wrong message, or are seen in a different way than expected.
• Early-Bird Cameo: Philip mentions his defenestration game mode as "not ready" in this 2018 video, when the game mode was released as an april fools joke in 2020.
• Easter Egg: The Inferno Easter-Egg is all about the monitor in New-Inferno that has a random chance of displaying the menu for Counter Strike 1.1, the first appearance of Inferno in the series. The random generator in the map file is basically a coding Solve the Soup Cans, with timers and round starts also being taken into account as to when to show this easter egg.
• Edutainment Show: 3kliksphilip is one for Counter-Strike, while 2kliksphilip is one for general technology. kliksphilip is the channel where Philip voices his life viewpoints on various matters.
• Excuse Plot: Discussed in the CSGO's Map Lore video, where 3kliksphilip laments the removal of the text in-game that gives the Excuse Plot for the level in CS:GO, and notes that older games like Counter Strike: Source did include these pieces of information, but is now reserved for community credits.
• For Science!: The reasoning Phillip gives in Gummy Bear ANALysis for eating 300 grams of gummy bears.
• Forced Perspective:
  • This video on the 3D Skins collection in CSGO has 3kliksphilip explain skins made by Felix de Puiseau that used the Forced Perspective as a way of making the guns look different, such as the MAC-10 having tubing inside of the gun, despite it not actually being modeled like that.
  • In this video Philip makes a 3d-looking boat using nothing but stacked up 2D sprites (or "stacked dolly mixtures" as he and his friends call it).
• Gainax Ending: This video on what weapon can be thrown the furthest has the ending show a terrorist throwing a P250 that has an IBP sticker on it, which flies off into space, cruising round the solar system, and then into the sun.^* This is a reference to IBuyPower telling their players to throw games of counter strike for money.
• G-Rated Drug: Played for Laughs. Whenever Philip talks about AI image upscaling, his vocal mannerisms turn into something similar to that of an addict.
• Hell Is That Noise: "Comments and Stories on Social Media" is at least partially motivated by discussing the one song Phillip uses that often gets a negative reaction by his viewers; "Caboosing". Naturally, he constantly uses it throughout the video in awkward spots to annoy said people.
• Hitbox Dissonance: 3kliksphilip has various videos on Hitboxes, often when a faction or Counter Terrorist team gets a model update.
• Hiroshima as a Unit of Measure: Sometimes uses mundane objects to better represent the HmU (Source engine Hammer Units) measurement to those that may not understand it. In this video, he mentions that 71 bananas is 1000 HmU, as a way to measure the distance that chickens can get scared at with each type of weapon (it's the same distance regardless of weapon, 128 - 192 HmU, which as an another example, is 2 -3 crates right aside one another).
• Hurricane of Puns: "Everything you Never Wanted to know about Smokes" has Phillip start the video with smoke-related puns:
  Philip: ...and I believe the smoke grenades in Counter Strike 2 fall into the same category. For it's an often Fog -gotten topic, that's shrouded in mystery.
• Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Discussed in "Internet 'Experts'" on kliksphilip, where Philip mentions that people who claim to be experts online on a topic tend to lack the proper knowledge that actual experts on the topic have. He gives the example of his review of Doom Eternal getting negative comments from those who claim to be good at the game, criticising the way Philip played as if it was somehow wrong or inefficient (despite Philip playing First-Person Shooters for twenty years at that point), whereas actual Doom Eternal pro players who had commented had nothing but positive things to say about his review because they had the mindset of it being a review, not a player guide, and thus, adjusted their opinions accordingly.
• Leitmotif: Philip has a few recurring songs that he uses in his videos, the majority of which are created by Philip himself, David Randall, or his father. Digadig is the music used the most in videos, with Synchobonk and MS20 coming a close second and third respectively. Atomic Amnesia (and its MMX variant) are used for his "Case Unboxing Millionaire" series. Lies is used on the r/Place timelapse recap videos, while David Randalls' Holomorphic and They Have Returned are also used on the channel.
• Mad Lib Thriller Title: "Can you Gigapixel a Waifu?" comes off as this. The "Gigapixel" refers to Topaz Gigapixel AI, and the "Waifu" part refers to Waifu2x, an online upscaling tool.
• Malicious Misnaming: A Running Gag in the Userbenchmark April Fools videos, as a way of making fun of the site's bias of being against AMD products.
• Memetic Badass: In-Universe, Nigel Books in XCOM 2 is an unstoppable action hero who wears Nerd Glasses and does paperwork on the side, while in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Odgrub is a unrelenting fighter who never gives up and never uses fast travel (not when people are looking anyway) to complete his quest.
• Never Tell Me the Odds!: Averted on his "Case Unboxing Millionaire" series, as Philip specifically requests viewers to predict the amount of money he'll win or lose in a given session of buying crates.
• Nostalgia Filter: The topic of The Bitter-Sweet Curse of Nostalgia which is all about deconstructing this ideology.
• Non-Indicative Name: "Bailing out a Sinking Ship with a Spoon" is not what it sounds like. It's Philip's experiences with drowning in messages people send him from social media.
• "Not Making This Up" Disclaimer: In this video on a beta update for the demo viewer, they stress that CS:GO uses the ".dix" file format as bookmark points in the demo viewer.
• Obstructive Bureaucrat: "Splendid Speakers Spoiled by Stupid Silence" is all about how an EU power saving law that made otherwise-perfectly-good PC speakers hard to live with, as the speakers turn off to save power after 10 minutes of inactive use. The flaw with this, as Philip demonstrates, is that it takes three seconds for the speakers to turn back on when you use them from idle, which can ruin the start of a video, podcast, or really, anything that requires speakers.
• Official Fan-Submitted Content:
  • Invoked on 3kliksphilip, who has reviewed the skins in skin cases by contacting their creators for insight and how the skin was made, as well as personal opinions on them.
  • This cover was used in Case Unboxing Millionaire #4
• Only the Chosen May Wield: "CS:GO: Moving a Dropped Bomb" shows that the bomb in counter strike cannot be moved by any reasonable distance once dropped by a terrorist. And once planted, the bomb is fused to the ground.
• Orgasmic Combat: Sounds of 'Pain' talks about the trope being exploited in Source games and Global Offensive where players use a command keybind to spam a characters "pain" soundbyte in order to make it sound like...well, what the trope implies really.
• Outrun the Fireball: "Can You Escape a BOMB Explosion in 1 SECOND?" is basically this in CSGO video essay form. The very short answer is that unless you're falling away from the bomb, you can't escape it's radius in less than a second by running (but you can lessen the damage the further you are away.)
• Perfectly Cromulent Word: 3kliksphilip discusses the word "Pecklesteiner" in CSGO Vs Reality, and tries to find out if it's a real word, which supposedly means two doors that overlap in the middle for the key to go through both locks. The closest result was Pichelsteiner, a German stew. Pecklesteiner itself was then infamously used by Valve in a then-recent update log that fixed issues with two doors overlapping, and has been infrequently used in the CSGO community ever since.
• Post-Processing Video Effects: Mentioned in The Finest Pixels for CS:GO - Antialiasing, as it focuses of CSGO's graphics settings, such as FXAA making the model edges smoother.
• Precision F-Strike: In "The Horrors of CS:GO's Demo Viewer" he considers it a "fucking painful" chore to load Source demo's.
• Product Placement: Philip isn't adverse to using sponsorships in videos to fund his content, often making videos based around the product, and how it's good for his own uses, such as rendering CSGO maps or working from home.
• Real-Place Background: The premise of de_castle vs da castle is Philip analysing the differences between the community map "De_Castle" and the location it is based off of; Predjama Castle in Slovenia.
• Ridiculous Procrastinator: Over on kliksphilip, he's done two videos on the topic of the best Subreddits, the first video's list being compiled while he was procrastinating (which he lampshades at the end of the first video.)
• Rube Goldberg Device: The CS:GO Rube Goldberg Machine has Philip make such a contraption in the Hammer editor for CSGO, relying on the physics engine the game uses; Havok, to make domino's fall over, blocks fall down, and more. Also made a behind the scenes, which can be found here. Crosses over with Rube Goldberg Hates Your Guts, as a Counter-Terrorist dies at the end.
• Running Gag: So many:
  • Anytime Philip goes on holiday, it is inevitable that CS:GO will get an update that he can't cover until he comes back. They also went on holiday two days before CS2 was released into public beta.
  • The various catchphrases get repeated:
    • His shoehorning in of his channel names when saying "X clicks" then followed by his name said really quietly.
    • "Valve, please fix", which refers to whenever he finds a flaw in a recent update to a map or a weapon bug.
    • "Let's go back, back..back..back...", which is often used when talking about the past in some way.
    • This clip of Philip running on the streets, often whenever he refers to the outdoors.
    • Saying "Hell of a lot" wrong, often resulting in "hella-la-la-lot" or various other nonsensical variations of that phrase.
    • Philip throwing multiple pound notes into a bucket while wearing sunglasses, which is used as the filler footage in the "Case Unboxing Millionaire" series.
• Scenery Porn: "Making the Source Engine Beautiful Again" is all about how maps are detailed in the source engine, how lighting affects things in a level, as well as showing off some really nice textures that Valve could use, but don't (or in Dust2's case, got changed).
• Scunthorpe Problem: In this video on CSGO's swearing block list, Philip explains how to bypass certain words being blocked. A few days later, 3kliksphilip made another video that reveals that CSGO itself censored "Shattered Web" (the event name at the video's production time, as well as the name of the cases that drop) by complete accident.
• Serial Escalation: In What's the most damage in CSGO that can be dealt?, 3kliksphilip answers with 558 immediately, regardless of weapon combo or where it's shot from (but armor does make the total damage 547 instead). This then escalates to him jumping off of old Vertigo that sustains 4999 fall damage, and ends with him stepping on a Lego Brick that deals 2,147,483,264 billion damage.
• Short-Range Shotgun: Discussed in the 3kliksphilips 600k subscriber special. As with many other games, both CS:GO and CS2 adheres to this principle for balance purposes.
• Shout-Out:
  • Thor's Hammer gets a mention in "CS:GO: Moving a Dropped Bomb" when comparing the C4 the terrorists use to the hammer in question.
  • "Source makes me Cry" is a parody Shot-for-Shot Remake of the DX11 Crysis 2 demo
  • This sponsored video essentially advertising a Dell Inspiron laptop is formatted like Top Gear, with "Not Here" replacing the text on the logo. The thumbnail makes this more obvious.
  • "The Longest Most Best Ever Killfeed that ever was and it goes on and on and on and on and"^* Yes that is the actual name of the video uses this music from the Long Long Man commercials after Zool used it in his video on twitter.
• Signature Song: Invoked and Discussed as a topic in "Music - The Power of Association" in various ways, such as songs Philip likes the most are from his most impactful moments in his life. They then discuss how creators have a song many people know about, and how the music from Vsauce is associated with that channel. Philip also clarifies that while you are free to use his music, it comes at the cost of it always being associated with Philips content, not the person using it afterwards.
• Spoiler Title: Gummy Bear ANALysis is about eating a kilo of gummy bears, with predictable results.
• Standard Snippet: One of the few songs associated with 2kliksphilip not made by Philip or his father is Prelude, a song made by Kevin MacLeod.
• Take That!: The "Case Unboxing Millionaire" series was one to the idea of people thinking they can get rich quick through CSGO skins. He used the the convars unboxing simulator as footage for the video.
• Tech-Demo Game: The Unreal Engine 5 City tech demo is a massive sprawling city showcasing various Unreal 5 technologies. He stresses multiple times that, despite his best efforts, it brings his beast of a PC Rig to its knees.
• Tempting Fate: In "Business Email", Philips repeatedly tells people who send him emails via that line to not do so as it's strictly for business only. Even lamenting this on kliksphilip has people troll him and send him annoying emails anyway (something he foresaw people doing, but he admitted it couldn't be helped).
• Theme Tune: Atomic Amnesia is one for the "Case Unboxing Millionaire" series, which is often mixed with Atomic Amnesia MMX.
• The Faceless: In this video on his privacy, Philip attempts to respect others' privacy and blur their faces whenever possible.
• Third-Person Person: Philip constantly uses his channel names in place of his own name, and when mentioning the other channels, they will make it sound like the channel is ran by another person.
• Time Lapse: Phillip made an analysis video for Reddit's /r/place canvas in both 2017 and 2022 that are timelapses of the canvas's being changed over time.
• Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object: In this video, 2kliksphilip tested if the train in Grand Theft Auto V (The unstoppable force) would stop if a truck blocked the tracks (The immovable object). The truck yields.
• Urban Legend of Zelda: Invoked His videos on 3kliksphilip in particular are sometimes about determining if urban myths in Counter Strike are true or false, such as disproving health regeneration by going into water^note It doesn't work as health regen in water only compensates for damage take underwater by you drowning, not from outside forces or If you can avoid flash-bangs by using a different aspect ratio^note Flashbangs blind you, regardless of screen size
• Violation of Common Sense: CSGO Vs Reality is all about the unusual bits of CSGO that don't make sense, such as windows not lining up on either side of walls in Canals, the door frames in the game being much bigger than the player model, and doors that lead to rooms that cannot possibly exist (such as a door in Inferno that clashes with the space being used on the other side.)
• Visual Gag: In "Reddit's Best Subreddits", two of the titles for a reflect their subreddit; /r/Titlegore becomes Titlegroe, while /r/Crappydesign has the text skewed for some of the title to be off-frame.
• World Tour:
  • Philip has made travel logs available on Kliksphilip which has so far included him visiting the Wadi Rum Desert, a trip to Jordan, a trip to Petra, one to the The Lake District where he also did some Juggling, a trip to New Forest National Park... (twice), an adventure to Ottery St. Mary, Berlin, Iceland, and has also taken a vacation to Japan.
  • On 3kliksphilip, he made a travel log detailing the differences between de_castle (a map from a 2016 CSGO Operation) and the real-life Predjama castle in Slovenia with which the map recreates.
