Possible heroes in The Marvels
  • Mackie Mcmorrow
  • Anelle
  • Elysius
  • Beast
    • Confirmed
  • Moon Dragon
  • Deathcry
  • Kismet
  • Phyla-Vell
    • Phyla has been introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in a small role, albeit significantly altered and with no connection to Mar-Vell. While this does make an appearance in The Marvels much less likely, it does set up the possibility for these characters to at least cross paths in the future.
  • Noh-varr aka Marvel Boy.
  • Adam Brashear/Blue Marvel
  • Valkyrie

Hulkling will have an Adaptational Backstory Change, if he appears in the sequel.
  • If Hulkling does appear, he would have a change in his history in the MCU, due to his biological father, Mar-Vell, being genderflipped, age lifted and killed off in Captain Marvel (2019).
  • It's possible that the only change is that Mar-Vell was Hulkling's mother instead of his father.
  • It's also possible that Hulking will become a Composite Character, with Skaar serving as the MCU version of Hulkling.
  • Another possibility would be to have Genis-Vell (Mar-Vell's other biological son from the comics) be Teddy's father instead. Given how little we know about her and her apparent age, it's not absurd that she may have had a son. This would also work better timeline wise if they want to have Teddy be a teenager when introduced, as Mar-Vell died in the 1990s.
  • Hulkling does not appear.

G'iah will make a brief cameo in the film, or at least be mentioned by Fury or Monica.
  • She probably won't play a big role in the film, but it would be great for G'iah's friendship with Monica to be mentioned in passing.
  • Dar-Benn uses the bracelet to siphon off some of G'iah's powers to make her less of a Game-Breaker.
  • Jossed. G'iah is absent.

Maria Rambeau will appear in the film
  • Despite being killed off in Wandavision, Maria Rambeau will still make at least a cameo in the film. This could be a flashback, a recording left by Maria during the 5 year gap, or she isn't really dead.
    • Confirmed via flashbacks.
  • Another possiblility, is her multiverse variant as Captain Marvel appears in the film. This means her variant from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is still alive or exist in other universes.
    • Broadly confirmed, in a post-credit scene, though this variant is identified as Binary rather than Captain Marvel.

The apparent absence of Talos in the film is a potential spoiler for Secret Invasion.
  • Despite being in the first entry, Ben Mendlesohn is not confirmed for the sequel. This could be a hint that something will happen to him in Secret Invasion.
    • Confirmed. He's killed by Gravik in Episode 4.
  • Another possiblility is that Talos is posing as Nick Fury again
    • Jossed. See Above.

The Marvels will chronologically take place before or during ''Secret Invasion':.
  • Fury will learn from the Kree, that the Skrulls have invaded Earth. This causes Fury to leave midway through the film, to focus on the Invasion.
  • Jossed. The movie is after Secret Invasion.

The X-Men will make their MCU debut in this movie
  • Between Carol's long history with them (Wolverine and Rogue especially), Kamala being implied to be a mutant in this timeline, and just the fact that it would be a good way to include Jean Grey's original, long-forgotten codename of "Marvel Girl", it just works on multiple levels.
    • Semi-Confirmed. The Mid-credits scene has Kelsey Grammer's Beast and Professor X is mentioned. However, the scene is OUTSIDE of the MCU, with scene potentially inplying that the X-Men might not exist yet in the MCU.
      • It all depends on if they meant the MCU or just the particular universe.

As a result of this movie, Carol's powers will be toned down a little
  • In Endgame, she ignored Thanos' punches, which would utterly destroy anybody else. And when he attacked her using the essence of the Power Stone, she just went flying and didn't have wounds of any kind. She's also able to fly to almost any part of the universe in a few hours. Writing about somebody so insanely powerful is hard, since there are very few problems she couldn't solve with brute force. Reducing her powers, from Made of Indestructium to just Made of Iron, would make the life of writers way more easy, and the "Swap places and swap powers" plot could be a good way to do it.
  • Confirmed. Though this only makes using her powers difficult, not weakened.

The movie will further acknowledge Carol's whereabouts in the 25 year span between Captain Marvel and Avengers: Infinity War
  • If Fury ever summoned Carol before the Snap?
  • If and when Carol previously return to Earth? And if she was in still in contact with the Rambeaus?
  • Why Carol and Monica had a falling out with each other?
  • The movie confirms that Carol was away from Earth for most of the last 2 and half decades. She still kept tabs on the Rambeaus, but not enough for Monica's approval. Though, Carol did visit Maria, when Monica was Blipped.

Carol's powers made Maria sick.
  • This would explain why Carol has kept her distance from everyone, as she knows her superpowers can give off lethal amounts of energy. This is likely an effect from the Tesseract/Space Stone. And while her powers are only harmful in frequent exposures (like with radiation), Carol doesn't want to take any chances.
    • It would also definitely explain why Monica acted so cagey about her when she was brought up in Wandavision.
  • Jossed.

Krysten Ritter will make a cameo as Jessica Jones.
  • In the comics, Jessica and Carol are close friends, despite their different personalities. However, the MCU was initially unable to feature both characters together, due to Marvel's TV & Film divisions running separate from each other and Marvel's exclusive contract with Netflix. Thankfully, this is no longer the case, which could mean Jessica could team up with Carol in the future.
  • Jossed for now.

Adam Brashear/Blue Marvel will appear in the film
  • Adam Brashear could be introduced into the MCU with a small role in the film, as Adam has been a love interest for Monica Rambeau in the comics. Monica's portrayor, Teyonah Parris has previously expressed interest at adapting Monica's and Adam's relationship.

The trio unknowingly carry the same "supergene", that's why they're connected.
  • In Kamala's case it was explicitly stated that her powers come from some kind of mutation, and wearing the Djinn bangle only brought them to surface. Who's to say the Tesseract and the Westview Hex didn't do the same with Carol and Monica?
    • Jossed. In the official trailer, Monica explains that she, Carol, and Kamala all have light-based powers and that the Big Bad has somehow "entangled" them.

Kamala will be torn on her romantic relationships
  • Kamala's subplot will have her dealing with her unresolved feelings with Kamran, Kareem and/or Bruno (with Kamala finding Bruno's Love Letter in her locker). By the end of the film, Kamala will choose to break things off with all of her suitors. She does this so she can grow as person and stop her suitors competing for her love. It will also give Marvel some time to decide which suitor she should be paired with.
    • Since the movie is only 105 minutes, Kamala's plot will mainly be like a more in focus version of Peter in "Civil War" in working with her hero and wanting to impress her. She may have something small as a tease for the future but it probably won't be a full on subplot. Plus Bruno, Kamran, and Kareem are either on the other side of the country or the planet.
  • Jossed. Kamala's love life is never acknowledged.

Carol and Monica will make amends with each other
  • Monica is somehow upset with her "Aunt" Carol, such as when Jimmy Woo mentions Carol in Wanda vision. In the trailer, they even tell Kamala that "we are not a team".
    • It is likely that there will be an argument between the two on how Carol never came or visited Monica, or ever came when Maria died, with one of them feeling guilty about the other, and it could be highly likely that they'll apologize as well as reconcile with each other.
    • Because Monica was "snapped", when Maria died, Monica may assume that Carol was not with Maria at the time of her death. However, Carol likely frequented Earth during the 5 year gap (as the surviving Avengers now trust her). Carol may be keeping her distance, because she feels guilty for not stop Thanos's snap in time.
  • The theory is confirmed. Monica viewed Carol as abandoning the Rambeaus. It's also confirmed that Carol visited Maria during the 5 year gap, and that Carol was still reeling from Maria's death.

The movie will reveal that Aamir and Tyesha will/have become parents
  • This is why Tyesha is absent at Kamala's house in the recent trailer. She is either receiving care for her pregnancy or she is taking care of her new baby. Having Aamir and Tyesha as new parents would further expand the multi-generational aspect of Kamala's family.
  • Jossed, though Muneeba harps on Aamir on starting a family.

More Ms. Marvel Characters will appear in the movie.
  • Despite the movie's trailer only showing Kamala's family, the film will also feature Kamala's friends and allies (Bruno, Nakia, Zoe, Kareem, Kamran).
  • Photos of Bruno and Nakia are seen in the movie, but neither physically appears.

The MCU versions of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm are S.W.O.R.D agents stationed at S.A.B.E.R.
  • The film will end with these 4 S.W.O.R.D. astronauts experiencing another space incursion mid-flight. They survive the distortion, but are genetically altered. And the film ends with the foreshadowing of the Fantastic 4.
    • Building on this, they could be a four-person exploration crew that S.W.O.R.D. uses to identify unknown phenomena: Reed and Sue are the scientists, Johnny is the spaceship mechanic, and Ben is the pilot.
    • Alternatively, they'll hew closer to the classic origin where the four stole a government owned rocket to "beat the red commies" and have the four steal a S.W.O.R.D. space vessel to investigate an anomaly that only Reed thinks is significant.
  • Jossed.

By the end of this movie no country on Earth will care (or at least should not care) about Wakanda or Talokan.
  • In the preview we see a S.A.B.E.R. space station of a size equal to anything in Star Trek, we see ships buzzing around the space station, and Fury and Rambeau are both very well aware that there is a jump point in Earth orbit. This means that trade on a galactic scale should be possible. Why would you fight Wakanda when you can trade with other species for vibranium? With a station that big there is no way to keep the Talokan hidden, again no one should care about the Talokan vibranium because they can trade for vibranium with intergalactic species? In addition with all that tech they should be mining the solar system and in the MCU there is more then likely vibranium in the asteroids spread through out the solar system which should be easily accessed?
    • Because if Earth is ever cut off from space and vibranium is being used in significant portions of tech or construction, then it becomes very important to control the domestic (so to speak) supply. Also, it can do some nasty stuff in the wrong hands.
  • Jossed. S.A.B.E.R.'s space station is destroyed, though the personnel all survive.

Carol will become a Broken Pedestal for Kamala midway through the film.
  • Since Carol is a stone cold military-trained woman who likely has little patience for Kamala's Ascended Fangirl behavior, it will culminate in her giving her a "The Reason You Suck" Speech that critiques Kamala's worship of a woman she barely knows. Alternatively, Kamala learns that Carol committed some morally gray acts that shatter her perfect vision of Captain Marvel.
    • Subverted. Carol really did kill the Supreme Intelligence and then somehow collapse the sun Hala orbited, but eventually she and Kamala are still cool.
  • Monica might call out Carol for abandoning the Rambeaus, with Kamala blindly defending her. Carol will point out Monica is unfortunately right, leading Kamala to disavow Carol.
    • Jossed.

The movie will address what Carol has been doing for past 30 years
  • In Secret Invasion (2023), Gravik and his group resents both Fury and Danvers for not upholding their promises of finding them their home which motivated them as well Carol's lack of involvement with the earth. So, this movie will finally explains what she been doing for past 30 years.
  • Carol briefly alludes to her absence on Earth in Avengers: Endgame, where she points out how other planets don't have the Avengers to rely on. This implies that Carol has likely been helping other parts of the galaxy, similar to the Guardians of the Galaxy. One popular fan theory for her absence in Avengers: Infinity War is that Carol was busy assisting the survivors on Xandar from Thanos's attack.
  • Carol's whereabouts are briefly highlighted, but not fully explained.

Kamala will get Carol and Monica to make amends
  • Once she gets the full story of why Monica is so disdainful towards Carol, Kamala will try convincing them to patch things up so they can better work together against the Big Bad.
  • Confirmed.

Dar-Benn is related to Ronan the Accuser
  • Not much is known about Zawe Ashton's role of Dar-Benn, other than she is a Kree warrior who wields an Accuser Hammer. One possible theory is that Dar-Benn is either the sister or daughter of Ronan, with her hammer formerly used by Ronan.
  • This plot twist would also expand Ronan's backstory, after many have criticized past movies for not utilizing his character better.
  • Not Directly. Dar-Benn only references him as her predecessor.

The Flerken kittens are descendants of Goose.
  • Confirmed! They're her kittens!

The Marvels will be connected to Season 2 of Ms. Marvel.
  • It is already confirmed that Ms. Marvel will have a second season, so it is likely that The Marvels will be connected in some way to the second season of Ms. Marvel. We might even get hints of The Inventor as a future Big Bad in Ms. Marvel season 2.
    • A 2nd Season of Ms. Marvel has not been confirmed yet.

The "jump point" Monica is investigating is somehow related to the Hex
  • In the teaser trailer, Monica gets swapped with Kamala while she's investigating a Negative Space Wedgie outside the space station. If you look closely, it's makeup looks somewhat similar to The Hex and, if you pause at the right time, even the shape seems hexagonal. Whatever phenomenon this is, it will be revealed to be something similar to the Hex, and maybe show that reality warping-powers create a hexagonal shape - potentially setting up hexagons as an Arc Symbol as the Multiverse Saga continues.
  • Jossed. But it still could be an Arc Symbol.

Dar-Benn wants to exterminate the Skrulls because of the Kree Empire's peace offering at the end of Secret Invasion
  • Much like Ronan before her, Dar-Benn is pissed that the war she and/or her fellow Kree participated in was All for Nothing, and now she's become a similar Defector from Decadence who wants revenge on Carol and Fury for causing that to happen.
  • Mixed. Dar-Benn was focused on revenge on Carol for nearly destorying Hala. Dar-Benn uses the Skrulls as collateral damage.

Kamala gets her comic-accurate powers
  • Part of the process to break the malfuctioning connected powers with Carol and Monica involves Kamala getting Brought Down to Normal - after which the Super-Skrull machine, now firing blanks after all hero DNA has been scrubbed out of it, is used to trigger her mutation.
  • Jossed. Kamala keeps all her powers after the entanglement is undone. It's actually Monica who makes the Heroic Sacrifice.

Carol's call for help is answered by Valkyrie.
  • In a recent TV spot, Carol calls for assistance from an unknown individual. A blast of light appears, looking very similar to the portals used by Heimdall and later Thor. It's safe to assume the individual(s) are Asgardians. If the rumors are true, the individual is likely Valkyrie. This theory has some weight, as not only was Tessa Thompson rumored to be on set for The Marvels, but the Marvel Fandom has pushed for the pairing of Valkyrie/Carol.
  • Confirmed. Valkyrie rescues Skrull refugees.

After past speculation, Carol will undergo Adaptational Sexuality for the sequel.
  • The sequel will officially confirm that the MCU version of Carol is either Bisexual or a Lesbian. With Valkyrie's involvement in the film, the movie could reveal that Carol and Valkarie are dating each other.
  • Additionally, Monica may learn that her mother's relationship with Carol may have been more than just friends.
  • Unclear. Carol refers to Valkyrie as her "friend," and a kiss on the cheek is shared between the two.

The stinger will tie into the plot of Deadpool 3
  • Extremely Possible, as Beast and the X-Mansion both appear.

    Post-Release

Explanations of how Monica survived
  • She flew to the Earth of the new-to-her reality under her own power, but collapsed and/or landed near the Xavier School for Gifted Children.
  • She passed out soon after closing the rift, and would have died floating in space if not saved by the Phoenix Force.
    • The scene itself mentions that Binary saved her, though it doesn't say if that was in space or on Earth.
    • Most likely the X-Men were alerted to the opened rift, Binary went to investigate, and found Monica there.

There are Kree who don't fully blame Captain Marvel for Hala's state
  • It's just that the eventual victor of the civil war was someone who calls her opponents in the civil war "heretics" and blatantly obviously puts all the blame on Captain Marvel, so they keep their opinions to themselves for their own safety.

Meta-wise, Carol is now a Disney princess
  • She has a dress.
  • She sings.
  • She saved the day.

We just need Disney to come forward on it.

The Young Avengers lineup
  • The film ended with Kamala Khan meeting Kate Bishop and discussing the gathering of a potential team. The other potential members will include any of the following characters...
    • Cassie Lang
    • Peter Parker / Spider-Man
    • America Chavez
    • Riri Williams / Ironheart
    • Hulkling
    • Billy Kaplan / Wiccan
    • Tommy Shepherd / Speed
    • Eli Bradley / Patriot
    • Skaar
    • Kid Loki
    • Miles Morales / Spider-Man
    • Phyla-Vell
    • Kareem / Red Dagger
    • Sprite
    • Shuri / Black Panther
    • Kidpool

      • That's way too many characters, and I suspect they won't introduce new ones for the movie, if it ever happens. Also, Sprite is a normal human being, no powers, as of the end of the Eternals.

Fury originally intended for Peter Parker to lead and gather the Young Avengers.
  • Which was the reason for himnote  to attempt to mentor Peter in Spider-Man: Far From Home. But since recent events have made that more complicated note , he turned his attention to Kamala. Which makes some sense, as Kamala's personality is very reminiscent of Peter's around the time of his introduction — that is, before life beat the crap out of him.

Not just an Ascended Fangirl, Kamala has an actual crush on Captain Marvel.
  • It seemed pretty much like typical fangirling from the start of their interactions, but the tone of delivery on that line "O Captain, my Captain..." sounded like something...deeper.

Carol lent the house in Louisiana to Aamir and Tyesha.
  • Maria is dead, Monica is assumed to be, and Carol spends most of her time in space, so she doesn't need the house but probably would want it in the hands of someone who knows about her. Aamir is a twenty-something guy with little money, so as much as he appreciates the Jersey City community, he and his wife jumped at the offer of a free house even if it's on the other side of the country. The Khans were just helping their son move in.
  • I interpreted this as the Khans just helping Carol move house, they're too deeply tied to Jersey City.

Dar-Benn is the Kree Emperor mentioned in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

The people of Aladna are psychic.
They knew the team was called 'The Marvels' without anyone telling them. Aside from that, they mostly use it to coordinate their elaborate song and dance numbers.

Secret Wars
This film will involve some kind of Avengers v X-Men deal. An incursion will take place between 616 and the one shown in the mid-credits scene, which is implied to be the FOX universe.

Monica will appear in X-Men 97
If this isn't actually the FOX universe.

Allah really did answer Amir's prayers.
Doesn't seem like a coincidence that just after this, the ship crash lands despite falling from outer space and everybody on board is relatively unharmed.
