Tessa Lynne Thompson (born October 3, 1983 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor and musician. She's of (mestizo) Hispanic, Black and White ancestry.
She's best known for playing Jackie Cook on UPN's Veronica Mars, and her roles in films like Dear White People, Selma, and Creed. In 2017, she made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, starring opposite Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston. In 2018 she stated her attraction to both men and women, while choosing not to label herself bisexual.
