    Pre-Release theories

Part 9 will be an adaptation of parts 5 and 6.
Part 7 was a mix of parts 1 and 2, with minor references to 3. Part 8 seems to be a mix between 3 and 4 with a little bit of 5. So part 9 will be similar to parts 5 and 6. Bonus points if it leads to the 2 timelines merging at the end or a new one is created.
  • For now, this doesn't seem to be the case. While Jodio takes a lot from Giorno, nothing in particular implies any major relation to Part 6, although given Jodio's narration implying the heist will go wrong, it's not impossible at this point.

Part 9 will be set in space
Part 8 is in 2012. Araki pretty much only has the choice of going further in the future or using more AU/time travel shenanigans at this point, making sci-fi a likely genre change. Maybe Stands will have been discovered by science.
  • He could go back in time or set it at the same time if it's sufficiently isolated from Part 8; Part 5 could potentially have taken place at or before part 4 with just a few tweaks.
  • For now, Jossed. It's just Hawaii.

By the end of Part 9, there will be a stand called Dirty Loops
It's not like Araki doesn't know who they are.

Araki is writing JoJo in a sort of trilogy fashion...
..and Part 9 will close a trilogy in the new universe. Parts 1-3 could be called the "DIO Trilogy", as it begins with Dio in Phantom Blood, the Stone Mask influence in Battle Tendency, and the end of DIO in Part 3. Sure, DIO is dead by Part 3's end, but his influence lingers in Parts 4-6, with Mr. Nijimura in Part 4, Giorno in Part 5, and Pucci in Part 6. Parts 4-6 can be considered the "Jotaro Trilogy", as in Parts 4 and 6, he's a major ally, and in Part 5, not so much, but still there to help.As for Parts 7 and 8, and the eventual Part 9, despite the vast difference in time periods from P7 (1890) and P8 (2011), there is a character who influences events in both parts, and which is why Parts 7, 8, and possibly 9, can be called the "Johnny Trilogy". Johnny is the protagonist of Part 7, and dies in Morioh in Part 8, while still influencing the curse of sorts. Not only that but he's also A distant relative of Part 8's Kira, so maybe Johnny or the SBR race will be mentioned or a key factor of Part 9.

Part 9's protagonist will not be directly descended from Josuke, but rather Kyo Nijimura
She is after, part of the Joestar bloodline too.
  • To late to tell if confirmed or Jossed, but Jodio and his brother Dragona are the grandchildren of both Joseph and Suzi through their mother Barbara Ann.

Part 9's Protagonist will have a solar-powered Stand
It could be a perfect excuse to bring Hamon back into the story.
  • Jossed. November Rain's power is rain-based.

Part 9 will take place in either an African country or the black community featuring a black Jojo

If an African country, might take place in South Africa during the Apartheid, and the Amoral Afrikaners present would be a cheeky callback to the Nazis in Part 2. If a black community, most likely Japan's Nigerian community where Part 9 Jojo is blasian and related to Josuke 8, or the United States, to make relating to it easier for a Japanese audience.

  • There seems to be more black people in Jojolands than other parts, but to the letter, Jossed. it takes place in Hawaii.
  • Dragona Joestar is implied to be a biracial Black man with a stand named after a singer who is herself a biracial Nigerian English singer, so if he and Jodio are full siblings and there isn't a later twist that they don't have the same father after all or that Jodio is adopted, that would technically make Jodio a Black Jojo, albeit one who is extremely pale.

The protagonists of Part 9 will be a pair of twins
Their names will be "Jonah" and "Joanna," and they are nicknamed "the JoJo Twins" by their friends. In a form of Sibling Yin-Yang, their Stands will have a Day and Night theme to them. One is stronger in sunlight (which can be an excuse to bring Hamon back into the story), and the others' strength depends on the phase of the moon.
  • Jossed. Dragona is older than Jodio.

The main character of Part 9 will be blind
Every other Jojo in the SBR-Verse has some kind of handicap (Johnny being bound to a wheelchair, Josuke's amnesia), so it would make sense that the next one would have one too. Since there have already been handicaps based on lack of body parts and mental handicaps, a sensory one would be the natural progression.
  • Jossed.

JoJo Lands will take place in the original continuity.
Jossed, it takes place in the SBR/JJL continuity.

JoJo Lands will feature another Alternate Universe Counterpart of a villain from the original continuity.
Part 7 featured a counterpart of Dio and Part 8 a counterpart of Kira. Therefore Part 9 could feature a counterpart of Kars, Diavolo or Pucci.

JoJo Lands will be cross-continental.
The title could refer to the plot being about chasing after a villain who's hot on the trail of multiple countries to spread their negative influence, à la Carmen Sandiego. From this, the Stand Theme Naming could be based around all seven continents.

JoJo Lands will show the origins of the Devil's Palm and Wall Eyes, while also introducing a new landform that gives out Stands.
The title could be referencing the landforms in the SBR universe that gives people Stands at a price.

Part 9 will not be called Jojo Lands
The announcement specifically referred to it as a "Tentative" (subject to change) title. And it would feel wrong to have two parts, let alone two parts in a row, that have such similar names.
  • Half-Jossed, the official name has been revealed to be "The JOJOlands"

Part 9's protagonist will be a counterpart of Giorno (with a different name)
And the story will involve a power struggle between him and his brothers, who will be counterparts of Donatello Versus, Ungalo and Rikiel. Only this time, rather than being Dio's sons, they will probably be the sons of Diavolo's counterpart (who actually won't be the Big Bad of Part 9, his death being what leads to the power struggle between the four brothers). Also, "Giorno"'s right-hand woman throughout most of the story will reveal herself as the real Big Bad in the final chapters of Part 9, becoming the first female Big Bad of the series.
  • Considering that the official pre-release plot synopsis is "the story is about a boy who goes on to become extremely rich in the subtropical islands" the theory of at least the protagonist being a parallel to Giorno seems to hold water, as it would be a similar theme of rising in power.
    • Now that the first chapter has released, it's easy to say that Jodio is closest to Giorno out of the past Jojos, being an out-and-out criminal.

Part 9 will feature Gappy in some shape or form.
Since by the end of Part 8, its stated that Soft & Wet: Go Beyond can cure her disease & the Higashikata curse, and we don't see this idea fully realized. The new story arc might even go further into the Spin and what that means for Stands in the SBR-universe. He might even meet or become an ally to the new protagonist.
  • Or, alternatively, one of the allies is the child of Gappy and Yasuho.

Part 9 will have a stand called "Uptown Funk" and a stand that is a Billie Eilish Reference
He has stated that they're some of his favorite pieces of modern music.

Emporio will appear in Part 9...
... and he'll already be an adult, or even an old man, indicating that the SBR universe has moved past the original universe. He'll be an ally of Part 9's JoJo and may mention that he came from another universe to Part 9's JoJo, but it will be presented just as a trivia, rather than as a major plot point - and no one will believe him (though this part's JoJo will probably pretend they believe in order not to hurt his feelings).

The Part 9 protagonist is the descendant of both Steel Ball Run's Joseph Joestar and his ex-girlfriend
Araki confirmed in a 2022 interview that the protagonist is a future descendant of Joeseph Joestar. In his introductory chapter, he is shown to have a girlfriend who he wanted to treat with the money earned from working for Lucy Steel, only for circumstances to leave him trapped in America and eventually meeting and marrying Suzi Q while they were working for the Steel Ball Foundation. It's likely that his Japanese girlfriend was unknowingly pregnant on the day he left, and the next protagonist will be descended from their child. As Joseph and Suzi didn't have any other children besides Holy, plus with Kei dead and Josuke (who was made from Holy's son Yoshikage and Josefumi Kujo) not mentioned when discussing the future protagonist, this is a likely lineage for the next JoJo.
  • Jossed. The protagonist Jodio and his brother Dragona are the grandchildren of both Joseph and Suzi through their mother Barbara Ann.

The JOJOLands' central theme will be the Moon.
Based on this New Year's card Araki created, which also serves as a teaser for The JOJOLands, the thing that takes the most focus is a rabbit. One observed form of New Year's is the Lunar New Year, which devotes itself towards the rotation cycles of the Moon. On top of that, rabbits are commonly believed in Japan to be envoys of the Moon. Combining those two aspects and the fact that Araki had created the teaser for New Year's, it seems to hint towards something lunar being at play for Part 9.

  • It's more likely that the image was simply referring to 2023 being the Year of the Rabbit.

The Main Villain of Part 9 will have a Stand Ability based on the Mandela Effect

The stand of Part 9's Jojo will be called Blackstar
  • First of all, there's the obvious similarities between the Album's name and the name of the people the whole series is about: The Joestars. They're even marked by a Black Star birthmark!
  • Part 9 is likely going to be the Grand Finale of Jojo due to Araki's age, and Blackstar was the final album David Bowie released before his death, with heavy themes of death within.
  • The tagline of The Jojolands, "This is the story of a boy that... comes into a great wealth" can be easily tied back to individual lyrics of Blackstar. "Comes into a great wealth" seems to imply that the protagonist of Part 9 will recieve an inheritance so you could say that the part was triggered due when "Something happened on the day he died". In addition, due to the tagline confirming the protagonist to be male, it is very likely that they are the counterpart to Giorno, since he is the only male Jojo to not have a counterpart in the Steel Ball Run universe. However, since the part seems to be framed around the ocean rather than the mafia, he's "Not a gangstar".

  • Jossed, it's November Rain.

Alternatively, the protagonist’s stand will be called November Rain

In official art, the word November is seen on the protagonist’s collar.

  • Confirmed!

During run (All current theories should go here)

The Japanese tourist that Jodio will try to steal from is Josuke
It wouldn't be surprising if the previous protagonist appeared in this part. Him having such a powerful stand would explain why Jodio implied that he and his crew were easily defeated. Alternatively, it would be Yasuho, referencing how Giorno stole from Koichi at the start of Part 5.
  • Jossed, as the tourist is Rohan Kishibe.

King Crimson will make an appearance
Every part in the new continuity so far has featured a main villain stand from the previous continuity. As we've already seen The World and Killer Queen, it makes sense that a character would have King Crimson, likely an alternate version of Diavolo or Doppio.
  • One possibility is having the user of King Crimson be a member of the Higashikata family due to each member having "King" in the name of their stand. The user might be Jobin and Mitsuba's second child, who may also be an alternate version of Doppio or Diavolo.
  • Well, Usagi’s The Matte Kudasai is named after a King Crimson song…

Jodio and Dragona are descended from Diego
Dio could have had some illegitimate children, so it is possible that Jodio and Dragona's father could be a descendant of Diego. This would increase Jodio's similarities to Giorno.

Jodio and Dragona’s father is dead

Barbara Ann is Doppio
Many are assuming that the missing father of Jodio and Dragona is a Brando to fulfill the Dio connection Giorno had (and the Dio in Jodio's name). However, Part 8 ended by reiterating that Holly was Joseph and Suzy Q's only daughter, which previously led to speculation that there was a son we didn't know about due to Exact Words. What if that's actually still true? That the father was a Joestar, Joestar isn't Barbara Ann's maiden name, and she just lied to her kids? What if the sweet mother that Jodio and Dragona are working to protect is actually the Doppio to a sinister Diavolo who lied about their family tree in order to hide in plain sight? (...and she could still be a Brando)

The heroes will be on the receiving end of a Heel Realization
While previous Jojos were unscrupulous at worst, with Giorno being a gangster and Jolyne a delinquent, our main characters this time around are smugglers and thieves. What I'm guessing is that sooner (around the end of the first arc) or later (sometime near the halfway point) they'll get caught in a job gone wrong (maybe even with one of them being killed) and they'll get the heroic traits that usually comes with being a Joestar.

The Japanese tourist that Jodio and Co. are trying to steal from is an adult Tsurugi
Jossed. It's Rohan Kishibe.

Jodio and Dragona have some black ancestry
Dragona has noticeably darker skin than Jodio and dreads. It's possible that their father is at least part black, and Dragona merely inherited darker skin than Jodio.

Alternatively, Jodio and Dragona have different fathers
Considering Dragona looks substantially different from Jodio, it would also make sense that Dragona’s father was either native Hawaiian or African-American, whilst Jodio’s father is the descendant of Diego.

"Hot Dog Guy" will have a Joji song as his Stand
His similar appearance to Pink Guy from Filthy Frank is not coincidental and is an intentional reference.
  • Jossed His stand is named 'The Matte Kudasai' after the King Crimson song.

Jodio will have something similiar to Johnny's Dark Determination.

Meryl May will betray the group.
And potentially already set them up for failiure with the heist.

Dragona's gender identity will never be elaborated on beyond Chapter 1
Chapter one refers to Dragona as "He" and says he was born male but he has breast implants. It will never be addressed again and remain up to the reader's interpretation.
  • Chapter Two adds on the rapist cop referring to Dragona as masculine, but given he's a Jerkass whose only interaction with Dragona was discovering that they have a penis amidst sexual assault, it's not hard to assume he was purely going off of Dragona's genitals.

Meryl May is the main villain.

Meryl May is a rock human.

The Japanese tourist will be Joshu.
There’s no reason for this, but it would be funny because he's the character everyone would want to appear least. He also seems more like the type of person to own a diamond worth millions than Josuke.
  • Jossed. It's Rohan Kishibe

A (minor or major) villain Stand power will relate to money.
Due to how important the concept of wealth seems to be in this part, one of the antagonists will use money to attack - either literally like Milagro Man in JoJolion, or using their own money to empower themself or trigger a certain effect (similiar to Scott Fitzgerald in Bungo Stray Dogs)

Holly Joestar-Kira died after the events of JoJolion.

Josuke and Yasuho are married.

Hot Dog Guy has a very powerful stand.
  • Semi-confirmed. The Matte Kudasai has great versatility but we haven’t seen enough of it yet.

Dragona will die at some point.
This will make Jodio lose one of the few people he cares about and keeps his ruthlessness in check, starting a Protagonist Journey to Villain.
  • Alternatively, it could be a Heel Realization that makes him regret his actions.

There will be an animal Stand User
It’s been a while since an animal Stand User has appeared, so it would be fitting to see one in this part.
  • The animal Stand User could be a dolphin. It makes sense with the island location, and dolphins are very intelligent.
  • Seemingly confirmed, as there's a cat with a stand that can manipulate string in Rohan's villa.

There will be another plant Stand User
Since Part 7 and Part 8 each feature a plant Stand User (Sugar Mountain's Spring and Les Feuilles, respectively), Part 9 could feature another one.

Part 9 is a thematic Perspective Flip of Part 1
This is the first time since Dio was adopted in Part 1 that the main characters are brothers, but this time we're seeing things from the other side. While Part 9 most obviously takes from Part 5, Giorno subverted Jotaro and Koichi's expectations of his connection to Dio, and arguably took more after Jonathan despite his criminal lifestyle. Jodio, on the other hand, has open and proudly selfish motives that parallel Dio's and line up almost word for word with Diego's. While Part 1 has been described as Dio's Origins Episode despite Jonathan being the main character, this time we could be seeing that story from (Jo)Dio's perspective directly. With that in mind, we could see other parallels to Part 1 that Part 7 didn't cover (like a situation similar to that of Dio's adoption and Dario's intent to exploit the Joestars being an explanation for why the family tree in the first chapter of Part 9 contradicts the one given in the immediately preceding chapter).

Out of of all the Jojos, Jodio has the least noble goals, being Only in It for the Money and is seen doing henious actions almost immediately, namely selling drugs to Hot Dog Guy. However, he's still moral and is still clearly the protagonist, but it could easily be seen how he could crack, especially as his after-the-fact narration still seems to have an assholish tone to it. There's also the small fact that his name contains "Dio", who is generally regarded in Jojo as being the ultimate avatar of evil.

Related to above, Jodio will end up Lonely at the Top
The narration outright states that Jodio will end the story a very wealthy man. However it's likely that in doing so he would commit increasingly heinous acts to accumulate said wealth, which could either lead to people that Jodio cared about like Dragona either dying or leaving him out of disgust, leaving him filthy rich but alone and with no one to share said wealth.
  • While it could be just a wonky translation, the return of the narration in chapter 8 now says that "this is a story of one boy becoming filthy rich". One, not multiple.

A major character will die of COVID-19
It would go to show that even in the JoJo world, no matter how powerful you are, you can still die from the disease. Even moreso if the death involved is one of the stronger Stand users of the story.

Jodio's quest to become rich becomes figurative as well as literal
He does become a filthy rich bastard in the end, but perhaps learns he can't rely on his own power and learns about The Power of Friendship.

None of the heroes will have any humanoid stands - but the antagonists will.
Most of the main casts of previous parts have had primarily humanoid stands, with only a few swarm-type or non-humanoid Stands thrown in the mix, while villains were more varied and were allowed to have more 'monstrous' Stands. Jojolands will invert this order, as it would befit the part with the most morally ambiguous main cast to have Stands more associated with villains than with heroes while the opposite will be true of the antagonists, minor and otherwise.
  • This seems to be fueled even further in Chapter 2. None in the Caper Crew have a humanoid Stand: November Rain is abnormally huge for a Stand and spider-like, Smooth Operators is a Swarm-type Stand of tiny tank-threaded robots, The Hustle is an integrated Stand that doesn't even have a spiritual form, and The Matte Kudasai looks like a small animal more than anything else.

The Hot Dog kid is Meryl May Qi's son
She seems to vouch for him a lot, and their facial features are very similar.

"Bling Bling Baby" will play a role in the plot
In JoJolion, a character mentions a baby that was found by the ocean covered in jewelry. Nothing about it was ever explained, and it was never mentioned again. This could have been foreshadowing for this part.

The descendant of a Steel Ball Run racer will appear
We haven’t seen any descendant of a racer other than of Johnny and Norisuke, so it would be possible to see another ancestor.

Paco will die early in the story
His Stand is seemingly less versatile than the Stands of most major characters, and killing him would show off the power of whatever threat they’re dealing with.

Dragona will have to fight Jodio
There's a strong possibility Jodio will turn evil and has even been diagnosed as a psychopath. This can lead to Dragona having a heel realization that they need to turn over a new leaf and stop their brother.

Paco's Stand is a reference to the Pillar Men
His muscle control will be revealed to extend to all sorts of Body Horror like being able to absorb entire people, expose his rib cage to ensnare opponents, spin his arms fast enough to create Razor Wind, or shoot blood from his veins.

Paco is a Rock Human
  • Paco is still in high school at 19 for mysterious reasons.
    • The Rock Humans' long hibernation was previously established to have them miss human life events like this.
  • He was known to be overweight until recently.
    • The Rock Humans were established to molt their bodies every 6 years, gaining an entirely new appearance.
  • Paco has a passive obsession with thievery over normal hobbies for his age like video games and has no qualms about this that the other characters do.
    • This lines up with descriptions of why the Rock Humans can't fit in human society.
  • Paco has a distinct facial pattern and a strange ear injury said to have bitten off by his abusive father.
    • Rock Humans tended to have unique, slightly inhuman physical features, and a tendency to attract negative relationships.
  • One translation described his muscles as being "chiseled like a rock."

The main villain will appear early in the story
One of the main criticisms of JoJolion was how little Tooru was fleshed out due to how late he appeared in the story. To make up for this, the main villain will be introduced early on and be very fleshed out.

Jodio will be revealed to have been adopted.
Noticeably only Dragona is shown with the Joestar birthmark, and he noticeably looks completely different from Jodio. To parallel Jodio's similarities with Dio, it will be revealed that Jodio only thinks he's the biological brother of Dragona but was secretly adopted and is actually of Brando heritage, and will use that reveal to throw his adoptive family under the bus.

Part 9 takes place in an alternate universe to Part 7 and 8

In Part 7, Valentine notes that in all the other universes, the Steel Ball Run was organised to hunt special diamonds instead of corpse parts. With how much emphasis is placed on the diamond that Jodio and company needs to steal, perhaps it could be one of those diamonds? This also acts as an In-Universe explanation of the retcons applied to the Joestar family tree.

Jobin will somehow come back from the dead
This wouldn’t make any sense, but I just really want it to happen.

Jodio will become the Big Bad
He already has a dark side, but over the part, he will slowly become worse until he is the biggest threat in the story.

The meaning of "The Mechanism" will never be explained

The mechanism and the flow are the same thing

Joshu will be the Big Bad
In between the parts, he has Taken A Level In Badass and become more mature and powerful, and he uses his influence and money from the Higashikata family to become a crime boss who leads the organization that Jodio works for.

There will be a stand referencing Billie Eilish
Araki has stated that he has listened to her music and he often includes contemporary music references, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see one of her songs being references, possibly "Bad Guy".

Whitesnake will make an appearance
While the part seems to be more influenced by Part 5, if this is the last part Araki might want to include some references to Part 6 as well, such as giving a character the main villain's stand, possibly an alternate version of Pucci.

The Jojolands will feature a Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul Shout-Out.
Araki is well known for his love of Western media and sprinkling references to them throughout Jojo. Given the this part's focus on the protagonists as drug dealers, it's only fitting to reference one of the most famous series about that.
  • Confirmed as of the second chapter, in which the undercover DEA agent attempting to entrap Jodio is a direct reference to the scene of Badger being arrested by the same.

Rather than King Crimson appearing, a character based on Doppio will only have Epitaph as a stand

There will be no stand upgrades this part
While characters in the series have often gotten upgrades to their stands such as Soft and Wet: Go Beyond, this part will not have any, at least for the heroes, as the past two parts gave the protagonist a stand upgrade and it might be overused if it happens again. The characters might become stronger and gain new abilities, but not an overpowered upgrade.

The Speedwagon Foundation will make an appearance or at least be mentioned

Tōru will be shown to have some influence on the plot
Considering he's shown to have lived as far back as the 1940s, he might effect the story in some way. It could also allow the chance to provide some more depth to his character.

Jodio will undergo character development similar to Jolyne but end up like Jotaro or Giorno as a result.
In Part 6 Jolyne underwent a lot of character development that resulted in her becoming more like her Thrice Great Grandfather Jonathan, compared to the other prior JoJos at the time that is. Jodio will likely undergo similar development but as he is the least noble of the JoJos thus far, he will end up something closer Jotaro or Giorno as a result. Jotaro due to his after the fact narration containing his current assholish attitude but Giorno due being something of his closest counterpart in the original universe and largely having the most static character development compared to the rest.

Jodio is a Decoy Protagonist and Dragona is the true Jojo of the Part
With the possibility that Jodio might turn evil somewhere in the story it's likely that Dragona (who had the trademark Joestar birthmark, something that Jodio, the supposed protagonist lacks), who step in as the new main character, possibly after his brother crosses the Moral Event Horizon. Bonus if "Dragona" is just a nickname or alias and his real name is either Jonathan or Giorno.
  • It's unlikely that Jonathan will be her name, since that was the name of the part 7 protagonist (Johnny), it might be more likely that he will embrace being a woman and call herself Jolyne

Hot Dog Guy's real name is Frank N. Furter, or some variation of it
Many people have made comparisons between him and Pink Guy, which could be represented as the "Frank" in his name. Rocky Horror's general camp tone is very similar to that of Jojo's, and its frankfurter guys look funny sausage cuz hes the hot dog guy
  • Jossed. his name is Usagi Alohaoe

Part 9 will have more Joseph flashbacks
Just like Part 8 had Johnny and Lucy flashbacks, Part 9 will follow up on Joseph's presence in Lucy's last flashback. We might see some of his life in Atlantic City and how Jodio's parents ended up the way they did. Like Johnny and Lucy, this might also show us a final fate for Joseph.

More Corrupted Character Copies of Golden Wind characters will appear.
With Jodio already being a more selfish version of Giorno, The JOJOLands might be featuring other darker versions of Golden Wind characters. However, even if those characters appear, they might not be outright villainous; for example, while Jodio is a darker version of Giorno, he still has the redeeming quality of loving his brother and his mother.

  • A counterpart of Bucciarati who takes troubled individuals under their wing, only to exploit them for selfish reasons and manipulate them into committing worse and worse acts via lovebombing and guilt-tripping, until they're in too deep to disentangle themselves from a life of crime.
  • A counterpart of Abbacchio who suffers from a troubled past, but is drowning in too much despair to help anyone or do anything with their life. Alternatively they are an alcoholic Addled Addict with all that implies.
  • A counterpart of Mista who fell into a life of crime through no fault of their own, is really bitter about it, and uses that as an excuse to take whatever they can from anyone more privileged than them.
  • A counterpart of Fugo who has a similar short temper, but makes no attempt to rein it in and allows it to dominate them.
  • A counterpart of Narancia who pretends to be a Deliberately Cute Child in order to get away with stuff, possibly as a way of scamming people.
  • A counterpart of Trish aiming to overthrow their parent for purely self-serving reasons.
  • A criminal squad or Criminal Found Family that has neither Team Bucciarati's brotherhood nor La Squadra's Villainous Valor. They're so selfish and cowardly that they'd abandon or betray each other in a heartbeat to save their own skins.
  • A counterpart of Prosciutto who is a Manipulative Bastard big brother-type figure convincing his partner (a counterpart of Pesci, naturally) that he knows best about everything, and that the partner is too stupid/weak/incompetent/soft-hearted/etc. to be able to do anything on his own. And unlike Prosciutto (or Keicho), he has absolutely no genuine care for his partner; in a life-or-death situation, he’d decide his partner had outlived his usefulness and only focus on staying alive himself (at best) or sacrifice his partner to save himself (at worst). He would justify this by saying to himself that if his partner was weak enough to die in that situation, he didn't deserve to live.
  • Counterparts of Sorbet & Gelato (or Squalo & Tiziano) who are so unhealthily codependent that their Stands need to be in perfect sync in order to function. Alternatively, they are in a Destructive Romance and proclaim to love each other, but have an incredibly toxic relationship.
  • A counterpart of Risotto who doesn't care about their underlings in the slightest and would gladly send them to their deaths if it got him what he wanted.

We're Going to Meet the Mysterious Stranger who Saved Josuke in Part 4
The reveal of Rohan in chapter 2 has led to a Rewatch Bonus of some older issues of Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan. Certain Part 8 landmarks of Morioh were previously noticed on a map of what was assumed to be Part 4 Morioh, and Rohan also ran into a sign mentioning the Higashikata family as if they had some local authority as in Part 8 rather than just a normal family as in Part 4. With the reveal that a completely identical Rohan exists in the SBR continuity, the potential for those stories to have been in the SBR continuity all along suddenly exists. The one problem is that the very same Rohan chapter also features original universe characters like Okuyasu, Koichi, and apparently Josuke. However, there's nothing actually confirming that they are the versions of those characters we know, and not SBR counterparts of them (just different counterparts than Kei, Yasuho, and Gappy).

So it's possible that we've seen a character in Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan who looks almost exactly like Josuke, but is not actually him. Just like we saw a character who looked almost exactly like Josuke in Part 4 who never ended up being him (despite time shenanigans at the end of the Part). My theory is that the multiverse will become relevant in Part 9 beyond what we saw in Part 7, and at some point this alternate "Josuke" is going to end up in the past of the original continuity, just in time to save a family trapped in a blizzard.

As in, the character who, while not neccessarily outright dumb, also isn't the most intelligent member of the team and may usually be the first to fall under the effects of an enemy Stand, but makes up for it by being The Heart and a reliable ally. May also be a Plucky Comic Relief.

Rohan and Tsurugi are the same person
After the events of Part 8, Tsurugi started writing manga under the pen name Rohan Kishibe. Tsurugi could easily have grown up to look just like Rohan, and a huge Bait-and-Switch like this wouldn’t be out of character for Araki. It's also notable that the villa Rohan is in has five bedrooms, which would be strange for him to rent out if he was supposedly on his own. Conveniently, Tsurugi has four other living siblings (five if we count the unborn child of Mitsuba and Jobin) - Haato, Joshu, Daiya, and Josuke. Added points for both Rohan and Tsurugi's stands having something to do with paper.

November Rain will evolve to have a devastating ability involving the spin
With Soft and Wet: Go Beyond being able to utilize the Spin to launch basically non-existent soap bubbles, and Tusk being able to utilize the Spin with its different acts. It is possible that November Rain will continue this trend, and somehow incorporate the Spin with a new ability. What may happen is that Dragona may die, thus prompting Jodio to have a breakdown. This would make him so mad, that November Rain would evolve a new ability involving Spin out of sheer anger with Jodio then proceeding to use this ability to absolutely demolish his big brother's killer.

The reason that Jodio said that him, Dragona, Paco, and Usagi were nowhere near enough to accomplish the diamond theft will be more complicated than simply "Rohan uses Heaven's Door to curbstomp all four of them".
Because that would be predictable and boring.
  • Confirmed. Rohan starts off with the upper hand against Dragona, Paco and Usagi, but he backs down quickly once Jodio threatens his lava rocks.

Meryl Mei Qi will join the protagonists, and serve a role similar to Joseph Joestar in Stardust Crusaders, in that she's the oldest, and most experienced of the protagonists who has a Weak, but Skilled stand similar to Hermit Purple.

Rohan Kishibe here will be a Rock Human.
It was previously mentioned in Part 8 that Rock Humans tend to have jobs that allow irregular work hours, and that people like mangakas who tend to take breaks are very suspicious because of this.

Jodio's actual condition will be revealed and it wont be psychopathy.
He says he is a psychopath specificly. However, he cares about people around him genuinly (namely his brother and his mother). And he is impulsive, beating up the cop unnecessarily and trying to get a better look at Rohan because hes a huge fan. He even gets pissed because the cop lied to him to get an arrest and considers it dirty, which seems to be less because its an insult to him and more because he considered it filthy and immoral in general. This makes it more likely that hes a sociopath or something different that often gets confused for psychopathy.

There will be a Shout-Out to Undertale.
There's no evidence for this, it would just be funny.

Guesses for the cat's stand name

The cat is a rock animal.

The cat is owned by Meryl May, who made this heist as a set up.
  • Jossed. The cats are owned by someone else.

The cat is a reincarnation of Tama/Stray Cat

There's going to be a reference to Hawaii: part II in the story

Barbara Ann was disowned by Joseph
It would explain why she and her kids didn't appear in the family tree in Part 8. It would also make her the opposite of Shizuka from Part 4, being exiled out of the family instead of adopted into it.

The rapist cop from the first two chapters will return as a stand user in a later chapter.
And he will be given the Cioccolata treatment.

Rohan Kishibe works for the Speedwagon Foundation.
This is why he is investigating the lava rocks.

Rohan Kishibe is the same Rohan as appears in Diamond is Unbreakable
  • A throwaway line from near the finale of Stone Ocean reveals that Rohan seemed to be unaffected by the effects of Made in Heaven, so it most likely wouldn't be too great a stretch to presume that he managed to avoid the timeline reset and continue on with his life as though nothing happened. This also lines up with how, unlike every other reimagined character, he has not only the same name and Stand, but also appearance and (from what we've seen) background.
    • I already want to call this Jossed. The new universe created at the end of Stone Ocean is not the same as the Steel Ball Run universe.

The string really is a security system.
Except it is closer to a guard dog, because it is a Rock Animal.
  • Jossed. It's the Stand of the three cats.

The cats don't have a Stand, they are a Stand.
Somebody, possibly someone who was also trying to rob Rohan, will be revealed to be the "cats'" Stand user, which would explain their odd appearance.
  • There's a whole bunch of cats following the group as they leave from Rohan's villa, so it's likely somebody or something is controlling or influencing them.
  • Looks to be jossed, since chapter 8 ends with the reveal of the now dead cats' remains. If they were a Stand, they wouldn't leave behind corpses.

There is only one cat among the attackers, even though it seems like there are multiple.
Amongst the group attacking the gang is Tsurugi, who is using Paper Moon King to conceal the identities of the attackers by making them look like cats.

If the cats' owner is using a Stand...
Their Stand would possibly be named Sung Tongs from Animal Collective, based on the album cover. The name "Animal Collective" would also make sense, provided they own more than just the strange cats.

Charmingman's Heel–Face Turn will be a drawn out process, with occasional moments showing that he's just allying himself with the team for his own benefits, as well as moments showing that the team (mostly Paco and/or Dragona) still doesn't trust him.
Only for him to go through a Becoming the Mask arc and genuinely becoming a trusted member of the team.

The villain will be a social media influencer.
Not only could this potentially play into the Lava Rocks somehow & be relevant in the current social climate, but would also just be fucking hilarious.

The Howler corporation will be the main antagonist faction of the Part and a direct counterpart to Passione
Howler has already been established to be interested in the lava rocks and something the group will have to deal with, and it makes a lot of sense that a Part that so clearly references Part 5 would name the main villain group after a King Crimson song.
