  • Adorkable: Usagi's quirky, Kindhearted Simpleton nature, on top of him displaying unprecedented levels of tact, adds up to him being a charming dork who brings levity to the heist team.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: There is some disagreement among fans on whether Rohan, as he appears in this part, is a Rohan that belongs to the new reality started in SBR or if he is the same Rohan from Part 4, somehow transplanted from the original reality to the new one.
  • Fanon: Albeit this is mostly a joke, fans believe that the song that Dragona was jamming to when they got pulled over was "One Kiss", by Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris.
  • Fan Nickname:
    • Before Jodio's name was revealed in the first chapter, many fans called him "John JoJolands", coined by YouTuber Aeonstar.
    • Usagi has been nicknamed "Hot Dog Guy" because he was eating a hot dog in the first image shown of him, or "Pink Guy" because of his resemblance to the Filthy Frank character.
    • 4chan has taken to using the name "Ringo Rapeagain" for the crooked cop who attempts to molest Dragona, due to his resemblance to Ringo Roadagain from Steel Ball Run and because he reappears in Chapter 2 just as rape-y as before.
    • Before his name was revealed, some fans called Charming Man "Knife Guy" due to his weapon of choice.
    • Some fans have nicknamed the girl who bullied Dragona "Evil Yasuho" due to her being an awful person who looks a lot like Yasuho.
  • Improved Second Attempt: A recurrent criticism of Araki's art was the lack of diversity in body types, especially when it comes to fat people, who are almost always designed with Gonkish proportions compared to the rest of the cast. As such, Meryl May Qi being a (mostly) realistically proportioned Big Beautiful Woman was well-received among the people who had held the previous criticisms.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Jodio. While he is a drug-dealing brat, his reaction of resigned misery to his sociopathy diagnosis, combined with a narration that implies that it is hard for him to be happy like normal people can make it easy to pity him at least a little.
  • LGBT Fanbase: The part started receiving a lot of attention from LGBT readers just after the first chapter was released due to Dragona's gender nonconformity, with some fans interpreting them as trans, nonbinary, or genderfluid.
  • Memetic Mutation: Has its own page.
  • Moe: Smooth Operators and The Matte Kudasai are praised for having very cute and lovable designs for Stands, doubly so after Dragona even refers to Smooth Operators as "my kids".
  • Narm Charm: Most readers find Jodio's name to be ridiculous, but his strange name fits in with the usual weirdness of the series and has generally been seen as funny. Doubly so for Spanish speakers, since his name sounds similar to a very crude profanity in the language ("to fuck", which Jodio is the adjective tense of joder, "fucked"), but at the same time, given his unscrupulous personality, many find it a surprisingly fitting Meaningful Name.
  • Self-Fanservice: Fanart often draws Dragona with a bigger chest than in canon.
  • Trans Audience Interpretation: That Dragona went as far as to get breast implants has led some coming to the conclusion that they're actually a trans girl, and Jodio (who refers to them as "big brother") just doesn't realize it. Others interpret Dragona as genderfluid or nonbinary, the latter of which have long been part of Hawaiian culture.
  • Unexpected Character: When Chapter 1 released, there were many, many theories as to who the Japanese person mentioned could be (Joshu and Josuke being the favorites, with Yasuho and Daiya being distant seconds). Pretty much no one guessed it would be Rohan Kishibe. Not only that, but that he would look exactly the same, and have the same Stand, as he did in Diamond is Unbreakable.
  • Values Dissonance: One of the first pieces of trivia we learn about Dragona Joestar is that they only ever eat watermelon for breakfast. In America, this can raise a lot of eyebrows, particularly since Dragona is Ambiguously Brown and it's implied by the racist Hawaiian cop that they might have African heritage specifically, when eating watermelon is infamously considered a racist stereotype of African Americans. However, in Japan, watermelon is considered a luxury item — for Dragona to be eating it as often as they do is meant to be an indication of their demanding standards and their ability to afford to live above their means because of the money they and their brother earn from their criminal enterprises. Araki apparently caught wind of this and decided to change their favourite food from watermelons to papayas when the first volume of the manga released.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: When Dragona's design was first revealed, almost every viewer assumed they were female due to their highly feminine appearance, which includes the presence of surgically-enhanced breasts. Even the fan translators are not sure whether to regard them as an extremely feminine man, a transgender woman, or nonbinary. No solid answer has yet been taken from the work itself, so a solid portion of the fanbase uses 'she/her', another major part uses 'he/him', and a third chunk sticks to 'they/them'.
  • The Woobie: Poor Dragona can't catch a break, the very first chapter has them getting sexually assaulted by a corrupt cop and having to be saved by Jodio, nearly dies after getting their throat slashed open by Charming Man, and a later flashback reveals that as a teen they've been heavily bullied and assaulted, both physically and sexually, for their gender-nonconformism, and when Jodio took revenge on said bullies it indirectly caused their father to lose his job and leave the family on top of that.
