Concern: Duplicate trope.

I'm concerned Out Giving Birth, Back in Two Minutes is more or less identical in usage with Instant Birth: Just Add Labor! - "childbirth happens unrealistically fast". The description of OGBBITM makes it seem like it's supposed to be more like "Censored Childbirth" or "Cut to Black Childbirth" but combined with the title I think people are getting it confused with "a really short childbirth", which would be redundant with IBJAL. Even if it's a unique concept, since OGBBITM is so small, it may be worth merging the two tropes together into a trope like "Unrealistically Brief Childbirth".

Birth that happens offscreen/during a timeskip 6/ 44

1. Bizarre Alien Reproduction: In The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, Carl Wheezer is targeted by what can only be described as a facehugger, and it impregnates him... in his butt. While Jimmy and Sheen are both disturbed by this, Carl and the other characters treat it as an Unusually Uninteresting Sight, and in the end, it's never shown how Carl gives birth to the alien; it just... appears.
2. Delivery Guy: f a doctor or midwife shows up, the guy is off the hook, and the birth usually takes place away from the camera.
3. Characters.Goblin Hollow Ben Jr.: From the announcement Lily was pregnant with him and finally giving birth, it was only a few strips. More so that 4 strips later, we see him as a child. Express Delivery is also more accurate.
4. The House Bunny: Harmony gives birth offscreen as the rest of her sorority fights for recognition... and comes back with her new daughter while still in her hospital bed.
5. Wild Kratts S 1 E 37 Stuck On Sharks: Razor-Mouth goes offscreen to deliver her pups.
6. Goblin Hollow: Lily gives birth between comics.

Short childbirth 11/ 44

1. Somewhere, an Equestrian Is Crying (regarding general trends in My Little Pony fanfic): Whenever a birth is portrayed, it is often presented with the same sort of dramatic tension that human births are often portrayed with, (complete with the pain labor causes). The issue with this is that, due to their quadrupedal body design, horse births are usually very quick and easy (a necessity for prey animals to avoid detection by predators). In fact, humans are something of anomaly among mammals for the difficulty of our births, a direct result of the shifting of organs and tubing during the shift to bipedalism altering the path a baby takes to exit the mother's body and making it much more likely for things to go wrong — quadrupeds would simply not have these issues. Further, few fics are accurate enough to portray equine pregnancy as eleven months (as opposed to a human's nine months).
2. CalvinAndHobbes.Tropes J To P: Implied in one Sunday strip, in which Susie and Calvin are playing house. Susie walks in the door, saying, "I stopped by the hospital on the way home from work!" and reveals their new baby (which is a rabbit). Of course, this could be justified by the fact that these are two six-year-old kids who likely wouldn't understand how giving birth actually works.
3. Characters.Stampys Lovely World: Aqua disappears offscreen for maybe 30 seconds and somehow, Sherbet was born inside the 'Top Paw Dog Assault Course'. For what it's worth, the character in question is a Minecraft dog, who naturally give birth this quick.
4. Jeff Foxworthy: During a routine on childbirth, Foxworthy mentions that the shortest amount of time a woman can spend in the hospital to give birth (assuming everything goes well) is six hours.
5. The Love Triangle in FireClan: Gingertail gives birth surprisingly quickly.
6. The American Credo (about misconceptions held by 1910's Americans):
   • "That Polish women are so little human that one of them can have a baby at 8 A. M. and cook her husband's dinner at noon." (#46)
   • "That when a society woman has a baby she is a complete wreck for months afterward, but that a washerwoman can have one at eleven o'clock in the morning and with perfect comfort go to a movie the same afternoon." (New #33)
7. Radar.Odd Squad: Another scenario has Bouldy, Orla's rock replacement, suddenly produce 16 rocks offscreen. Arctic Mr. O and Oceana both theorize about whether Bouldy just gave birth to 16 children, or if he produced fingers. The latter theory was likely an attempt to avert the Toilet Humor trope, as it does seem like Bouldy also pooped out rocks.
8. Futurama S 6 E 16 Law And Oracle: Chief O'Mannahan ducks into the bathroom for a minute and comes out holding a baby, no prior indication that she was even pregnant.
9. La Petite Histoire de France: Ysabeau always heats up water when Guillemette visit, because she gave birth to her sixth child after laughing at a joke, and pretty much sneezed out the ninth.
10. The Last Man on Earth: Carol gives birth while sleeping, only finding out when she wakes up in the morning. spoiler:And then she has another painless birth shortly after when the second twin comes out while Gail and Tandy are arguing on whether to induce labor or not. Erica is greatly annoyed at this.
11. The Star: The birth takes place over a fight scene that last several minutes.

Brief recovery 2/ 44

1. Characters.Dimension 20 Escape From The Bloodkeep Maggie: Is back on her feet killing enemies just a few hours after giving birth. Is about brief recovery from labor, not the labor itself.
2. Exodus Borealis: Pregnant vupfox have little to no decreased effectiveness as workers, and the morning they give birth they're back out on the job while their newborn is wandering around the island following one of their parents. Another short recovery example.

Misuse of IBJAL or other pregnancy tropes: 9/ 44

1. Too Many Babies: Understandably, the work may gloss over all that in favor of skipping straight to the Cuteness Overload that a bunch of babies embody. Might be a better fit for a different trope.
2. Analysis.Chosen Conception Partner: Stories that focus on titillating female audience typically do something to alleviate or circumvent this dilemma to avoid Fetish Retardant. I think the trope the writer might be looking for in this situation is Clean, Pretty Childbirth.
3. Retail: Marla's water breaks in the 4/5/2012 strip. She's holding her daughter in the 4/9/2012 strip. Redundant with IBJAL - it's even IBJAL's page quote.
4. Characters.Insaniquarium Prego: When she's about to give birth, she doesn't show much shock beyond a somewhat surprised expression. The character is an Explosive Breeder; this bullet looks more like Dull Surprise.
5. Family Guy S 3 E 19 Stuck Together Torn Apart: Peter is talking to a very fat woman (one of his ex-girlfriends) when suddenly a baby simply falls out of her, causing her to shout out to her offscreen husband, "You were right! I was pregnant!" Surprise Pregnancy is also accurate.
6. Family Guy S 3 E 1 The Thin White Line Peter and Brian prank the occupants of a Teen Pregnancy Center by putting their hands in bowls of warm water while they are sleeping. They quickly leave the room and start giggling to each other as the sounds of many crying babies are suddenly heard from offscreen. A pregnancy-themed variant of Warm Water Whiz.
7. Futurama S 3 E 4 The Luck Of The Fryrish: The Screaming Birth is subverted when Fry's mother turns out to be screaming at the sports game on the radio. OGBBITM's page insists it's the opposite of Screaming Birth; it isn't and subverted Screaming Birth is more accurate.
8. Wandavision Episode 3 Now In Color: Because this show is intended to be an Affectionate Parody of a '60s/'70s sitcom, it avoids all the messy details that attend a real birth (blood, pooping, vomiting), but because it's going for wacky hijinks and a scared papa, it does give us a bit of Screaming Birth. Misuse of Clean, Pretty Childbirth, since it doesn't mention a timeframe.
9. Draw Your Own Story: While Ayane describes it as painful, she's remarkably nonchalant about the whole thing. More misuse as "Painless birth".
