Comic Books

  • In Raina Telgemeier's graphic novel Ghosts a minor detail is that the two sisters are fans of an obvious Expy of this movie. A poster of Anna and Elsa lookalikes appears on a bedroom wall, and the sisters sing a song called "Let It Out".
  • In Ms. Marvel (2014), Nakia complains that her best friend Kamala does not seem to have time for her anymore (actually due to Kamala's double life as Ms Marvel), and accidentally quotes the lyrics from "Do you Want to Build a Snowman". Kamala does not miss it and instantly teases her about it.

Fan Works

  • Prince Jewelius, the Big Bad of Loved and Lost, is an Expy of Prince Hans. At one point, he sings "Love is in Bloom" with Twilight and dances with her in Canterlot's streets as homage to the "Love Is An Open Door" scene. He even says "Oh, I already have!" when Fluttershy says "You won't get away with this!"
  • In Pretty Cure: Magic of the Rainbow, Hugtan is said to idolize Elsa.
  • In Unbreakable Diamond, Protean Rain, there's a flashback to Josuke and Fubuki's childhood. During the part where a young Fubuki is being avoidant of Josuke following the time he healed Fubuki's broken leg with Crazy Diamond, there's an exchange cleverly referencing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?", but spoken.
Josuke: Fubucchan, let's go out and play! I haven't seen you in a while, it's like you disappeared! … Do you want to go eat ice-cream?
    Fubuki: Go away, Josuke!
    Josuke: Okay, bye...
  • In Welcoming Chiho, when Rosemary muses about what their baby's favourite movie will be, Hitomu suggests Frozen.

Literature

  • In The Dresden Files short story "Christmas Eve", Mab (you know, the Queen of the Winter Court) gives Harry a gift for the little Maggie, a ring that plays "Let It Go" (Harry notes that it is possible he's heard the song enough to make his teeth itch) and until noon, gives its owner a certain amount of influence over the forces of winter.
Harry: Just out of curiosity, is it going to be possible for her to freeze someone's heart and turn them into an ice statue?
Mab: Those are the powers in the motion picture. Should I have cheated her?

  • Two examples from Kasia: Connor's aunt Linda (who's originally from a fictional Scandinavian country) dressed as Elsa on Halloween (Connor mentioned earlier that Disney costumes were all the rage that year), and late in the story, Connor's mother tells her law professor husband "Just let it go... or is that copyrighted too like 'Happy Birthday' used to be?"
  • In On the Spectrum, Clara takes Alastair backpack shopping to help him fit in. One of the available backpacks has Anna and Elsa on it. Clara thinks that, although it's more socially acceptable than it used to be for a boy to wear a princess backpack, a Bully Magnet like Alastair probably couldn't get away with it, so she gets him a Superman backpack instead.
  • Juniper Sawfeather: In Echo of the Cliffs, Juarez posts on a conspiracy website asking if anyone knows any myths about rock people. Someone brings up the trolls from Frozen.
