"Great! Now we have to find the Messiah! And what's up with the new enemy's outfit? It's just crazy. As for you Chibi-usa, you seem to be distracted lately. Did you forget the reason you came here in the first place? You really need to stop playing around and start focusing on your training or else In the Name of the Moon, I'll punish you!”
Usagi Tsukino

(CWi Episode: "Show Stoppers")

Wanting to unwind after the intense developments of figuring out where to find the true Messiah, the girls flock to the Juuban Nature Park where a movie shooting is taking place. While there, Chibi-usa meets a frail but lovely girl who may turn out to be her destined best friend. Oh, and Mimete makes her debut by harassing the movie's leading actor.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Adaptational Context Change: In the original version, Usagi convinced Ami to go to the film screening by saying that the Messiah could be found there. In the Cloverway Dub, Serena promised Ami that they would search the park for heart crystals after the "babe" watching session.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Was U-Estern able to overpower Moon Spiral Heart Attack because she's a stronger breed of Daimon? Or was it because the other Guardians didn't use their powers to weaken her like the other Daimons before her?
  • Asshole Victim: The fan-women who ruined Mimete's cakes are given an extra dosage of paint from U-Estern.
  • But Now I Must Go: After warning the Inner Guardians about the Holy Grail, Setsuna takes her leave so she can assist Uranus and Neptune with finding the true Messiah.
  • Call-Back: Rei thinks back to her ominous visions when Setsuna explains to the girls about the grail's dangerous powers.
  • Cowgirl: The Monster of the Week is the Gunslinger Daimon U-Estern who wears a long poncho, has a cowgirl hat with a cactus, and uses a (paint)gun as her main weapon.
  • Composite Character: This version of Mimete serves as a fusion of Usagi (particularly her Season 1 self) and Minako. Like Usagi, she's a slacker when it comes to studying, relies on other for fighting and even used a similar introduction during last episode's On the Next segment. And like Minako, she has orange as her main color, loves idols, is a romanticist and is unlucky when it comes to finding love for herself.
  • Contrasting Replacement Character: Mimete to Eudial. In the past, Eudial used a personalized computer program that targeted victims based on their accomplishments and talents. Here, Mimete only goes for male celebrities that strike her fancy. And while Eudial was more direct in finding the target and wasted no time in attacking them, Mimete prefers to hang around to enjoy the presence of their celebrity crush only to attack out of convenience. Also, while the head witch used a modified gun to expose a victim's Pure Heart, Mimete would summon her Daimon to personally oversee the Pure Heart removal via Forced Kiss.
  • Damsel in Distress: Mimete orders U-Estern to pick on Little Miss Cotton Candy to force the Guardians Inner and Outer to let her leave with the Pure Heart.
  • Dark Lord on Life Support: Even though the Messiah of Silence has awakened, she admits that she still feels very weak and requires the Professor to bring her Pure Hearts to turn into life energy.
  • Delicate and Sickly: Hotaru admits that she gets seizures whenever she pushes her body to do something strenuous.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Usagi tries to convince Ami to go to the park too claiming that the Messiah will be there to watch the film shoot. Ami seriously questions why the Messiah would do such a thing to which Usagi is unable to provide a believable answer. Fortunately for her, the blue nerd gives in.
  • Dub Name Change: The Cloverway dub changes Yusaku Eda to Joshua Ita.
  • Evil Plan:
    • Now that the Holy Grail has been revealed, Professor Tomoe is instructed to find Pure Hearts worthy to be sacrificed to his Messiah so she can use as energy. He then gives a lesson to the Witches 4 on how the Daimons will retrieve Pure Hearts and present them to him.
    • Mimete thinks to herself how celebrities (especially men) must have exceptional Pure Hearts as they're hard workers who inspire everyone with their amazing works of art.
  • Family-Friendly Firearms: The Gunslinger Daimon uses a gun that shoots paint.
  • Forceful Kiss: A variant. Instead of locking lips against the unwilling target, U-Estern simply gets close enough where she sucks the Pure Heart from his body followed by her swallowing it.
  • Forgot About Their Powers: The Inner Guardians don't consider using their special moves against the Gunslinger Daimon.
  • Friendship Moment: Hotaru makes an effort to save Chibi-usa's hat before it can fall in the water. And when she has a seizure after her running fit, Chibs stays by her side to make sure she's okay. Afterwards, the two girls formally introduce themselves while spending the their time together at the park.
  • Gang of Bullies: A trio of women proclaiming to be Eda's fans get in Mimete's way by calling her suspicious and stepping on her cakes.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: The Messiah of Silence appears as a young adolescent girl who sits on a throne room filled with stuffed animals and toys.
  • Healing Hands: Hotaru uses her healing magic to cure Chibi-usa's bleeding knee.
  • Hidden in Plain Sight: In her civilian disguise, Mimete is able to waltz around the film set without anyone noticing.
  • If I Can't Have You…: Outraged that her precious Yusaku fell in love with his coworker Yumi who reciprocated his feelings rather then following along with her delusional one-sided love fantasy, Mimete transforms and orders her Daimon to sic him.
  • Internal Reveal: Sailor Mercury deduces that the weirdo fangirl who attacked everyone was "Eudial's replacement".
  • It's All About Me: After Yusaku apologizes for his rude fanclub while tasting some of her cakes, Mimete believes that he's fallen madly in love with her.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Minako offers to take Chibi-usa to the park because that's where Yusaku Eda will be shooting a scene for his movie in. And Usagi, who was against taking her daughter in the first place, changes her tune and offers to take her.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": All the Inners are grossed out after seeing the Daimon gobble up Yusaku's Pure Heart.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: Along with using the Grail to turn into Super Sailor Moon, she also gains a new finishing move called Rainbow Moon Heartache.
  • Non-Answer: Neither Uranus or Neptune respond to Mars' question on why they can't work together.
  • Only the Chosen May Wield: Professor Tomoe informs Mimete that the Holy Grail will actually choose the one to utilize it's power when the time comes.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite their animosity towards Eudial, some witch was thoughtful enough to place a vase of flowers on her desk.
  • Random Transportation: Much like with Eudial driving off from random locations, Mimete does the same thing when she leaves the Death Busters base to work. In her first mission, she comes out of the closet in a public furniture store.
  • The Reveal: We finally see what Professor Tomoe's face looks like without the shadows.
  • Riding into the Sunset: Inverted. The Sailor Guardians make their In the Name of the Moon entrance with a western sunset background. Played Straight with Mimete who hightails out of the park like a loser.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: A group of Eda's fans stop Mimete from getting close to their precious idol. Though they do so believing that she's another pesky fan rather then a supervillain who's out to kill him.
  • Romance on the Set: In-Universe. When the cameras are away from them, Yusaku is revealed to be in an intimate relationship with the leading lady Yumi.
  • Running Gag: Makoto takes the time to admit that Yusaku Eda reminds her of her heart-stomping senpai.
  • The Sacred Darkness: Sailor Pluto conjures a ball of dark underworldly energy called Dead Scream.
  • Shout-Out:
  • The Slacker: While the other witches are paying close attention to the professor's lesson, Mimete is busy daydreaming about her idol crushes.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: The moment Setsuna leaves Rei's room, she disappears before Usagi can reach out to her.
  • Transformation Sequence: Sailor Moon's new super transformation is called Crisis Make Up!
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: With her Daimon destroyed along with being outnumbered by the Sailor Guardians, Mimete resorts to running away like a yellowbelly.
  • Villain Opening Scene: The story begins with Professor Tomoe visiting his newly awakened Messiah and learning that he must capture extra special Pure Hearts to strengthen her body.
  • Wham Shot: Hotaru and Chibi-usa arrive at the former's house who's father appears to welcome them. He comes closer and he's revealed to be the Mad Scientist himself.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Artemis reacts in disbelief over Ami choosing to go to the movie shooting with the rest of the gang.
