Couch Gag - Bleep.

Boo-Boo and Benny: Little Buddy Trouble

  • Adults Dressed as Children: As part of one of Top Cat's scams, Benny dresses like a cute little Victorian kid.
  • Big "NO!": Top Cat screams "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" when Benny folds his $10 dollar bill into origami, letting it blow away in the wind.
  • The Cameo: Hoppy appears on a box of cereal.
  • Commonality Connection: Boo-Boo and Benny realize that they have a lot in common and begin hanging out together.
  • Friendless Background: Mildew reveals that all his friends have abandoned him.
  • Honey Trap: Played with. TC acts as if Benny was merely pretending to be friends with Boo-Boo as part of a scam, unaware that Benny was actually sincere in his friendship with him. TC even calls Benny a "honey-pot".
  • It's All About Me: Yogi defends his actions to Boo Boo by saying it wasn't personal, it was just about him and his feelings alone, oblivious to how much more selfish this makes him sound.
  • I Warned You: Top Cat warns Yogi that Boo-Boo will ditch him altogether, but Yogi brushes this off. Soon enough, Boo-Boo starts hanging out with Benny 24/7.
Top Cat: I hate to say I told you so, pal, but I did.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Top Cat, big time. In order to break up Benny and Boo-Boo, TC tricks Yogi into feeling sorry for himself and suckers him out of $10 to break them up. He also acts as though Benny was in on the scheme as a mere Honey Trap, upsetting Boo-Boo.
  • Mythology Gag: A bedtime story mentions Dino-Boy.
  • New Friend Envy: Yogi becomes jealous that Boo-Boo is friends with Benny. Likewise, Top Cat becomes jealous that Benny is friends with Boo-Boo.
  • No, You Hang Up First: Benny and Boo-Boo, while talking on the phone, have an affectionate argument over who should hang up first.
  • Organic Technology: Yogi's arm squeezer is a living snake. The snake even parrots the iconic "It's a living" line from the Trope Codifier, The Flintstones.
  • Plot Parallel: Boo-Boo and Benny's plots directly mirror each other.
  • Pseudo-Romantic Friendship: Boo-Boo and Benny's 'friendship' has so many romantic undertones. For example, at the store, Boo-Boo gets down on one knee to ask Benny to...hang out with him. The narrative also treats them as though they are lovers and that TC and Yogi are jealous exes.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: As part of his Street Urchin ruse, Benny makes puppy-dog eyes to maximize the most money from Wally Gator.
  • Split Screen: Used to juxtapose the Yogi/Boo-Boo scenes with the Top Cat/Benny scenes.
  • Steam Never Dies: As part of their plan to break Boo-Boo and Benny up, Top Cat and Yogi arrive on a steam train called the Friendship Express.
  • Street Urchin: Benny disguises himself as a poor, homeless orphan as part of a scam.
  • Traintop Battle: After learning the truth, Boo-Boo steals Top Cat's dirty money and runs away on top of the train.
  • Two Scenes, One Dialogue: Boo-Boo and Benny have the same dialogue, just in different locations.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Boo-Boo is livid when he learns of Yogi's plan to break him and Benny up.
  • You're Insane!: Benny stands up to Top Cat, saying that Boo-Boo means more to him than anything else. Top Cat says that's crazy talk.

The Box Thief

  • A Day in the Limelight: Subverted. At first, this episode appears to be one for Snooper and Blabber, but the limelight is promptly taken by Augie, Yakky, and Shag.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: "We must remain focused and- oh look, a sandwich!
  • Delayed Reaction: Grape Ape shows how he will kick the thief out of Jellystone. Mildew cheers along with the rest of the crowd until he realizes that Grape Ape kicked his house.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Peter might be a slightly deranged otaku, but he's not letting kids run around with swords!
  • Everyone Is a Suspect: Blabber states that everyone in Jellystone is a suspect, so they need to stay vigilant.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: In-Universe, the characters have names for fans of their unboxing videos. There's the Yak Pack, Potamus Pals, Big Belly Boys, Jabber Fans, and Huckleberry Honeys.
  • Felony Misdemeanor: Stealing is a relatively mild crime compared to other crimes out there, yet the citizens explicitly state that the thief is pure evil. They act like the thief was a murderer.
  • Flying Postman: This episode reveals that Peter is a mailman, delivering mail in his magic flying balloon.
  • Ironic Echo Cut: Blabber states that the thief is pure evil no matter how small and innocent they may appear. The scene immediately cuts to Augie saying that she and the other kids are small and innocent, making them prime targets for the thief.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: The rest of the town deliberately hides from Mayor Huck and the detectives the truth about the packages. As a result, Snooper and Blabber didn't actually solve the crime, but they celebrate like they did anyway.
  • Literal Metaphor: Grape Ape shows that he will literally kick the thief out of Jellystone. Unfortunately, he ends up kicking Mildew's house into the sea.
  • Kilroy Was Here: When Wally goes into the sewers, you can see writing on the wall that says "Yogi Was Here".
  • Ninja: Led by Peter, the kids disguise themselves as ninjas to return the boxes.
  • Older Than They Look: Snooper and Blabber may be older than they seem. They claim that they have been detectives for 34 years, even though they don't exactly look it.
  • Running Gag:
    • When Yakky reveals that she took the boxes for her unboxing videos, the citizens reply "We've all been there" and proceed to show their own unboxing videos.
    • Inch High, Private Eye being unboxed.
  • Schmuck Bait: Peter finds a sandwich in the middle of the street and thinks it's a good idea to eat it. It went just as well as you'd expect.
  • Sewer Gator: Wally gets stationed in the sewers as part of the town wide search. He complains about the smell but admits he likes it down there.
  • That Cloud Looks Like...: While searching the rooftops, El Kabong points out a cloud that looks like a banana.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Huck swears that he will never forgive whoever stole everyone's mail.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Yakky. She took everyone's packages so she could do unboxing videos. She was going to return them, but everyone started freaking out.
  • Web Video Series: In-Universe. Just about everyone in the town has their own unboxing video series.
  • Would Hurt a Child: At first, the town is willing to hurt the thief even if they're a child.
