Why yes! He doesn't forget ye!
- "THINK YOU CAN TAKE ME?" "DON'T FORGET ME!" "YER DONE!" "BEHAVE!"Explanation The masked soldiers of Mor Ardain love calling their attacks with incredible frequency compared to other enemies, as if the programmers made a typo when adjusting the frequency of their battle cries, and are usually encountered in large groups, meaning that their quotes often overlap with each other and even overpower the party members. The thick Scottish accent helps to make them more memorable. There was much mourning when this was patched to be less frequent.
- Has become an Ascended Meme as of the introduction of Challenge Mode, at least in the English version. The description of one of the challenge battles is this: "Imperials mostly small fry, get forgotten easily. But these ones not done! Friends think friends can take them?"
- "Think you can take me?" found its way into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate when Pyra and Mythra were added, via Mythra's down taunt. She will also sometimes say "You're done!" when swapping in from Pyra.
- "EMERALD IS GREEN!"Explanation In an early cutscene, Consul Dughall yells at Captain Padraig for capturing Nia and Dromarch instead of Pyra despite being told to look for the Aegis specifically as well as the unique color of her Core Crystal. In the process, we find out that Padraig doesn't seem to know what color "emerald" is, requiring Dughall to explain it to him rather forcefully by waving a green vase in his face. Thanks to that conversation, fans are bound to bring up this line whenever emeralds or the color emerald is mentioned, as if it isn't common knowledge.
- "Blushy-crushy."Explanation This example of Tora's Buffy Speak has became especially popular due to the sheer absurdity of the scene it's tied to and the fact that the Japanese audio reveals it's a translation of Moe, of all things.
- *angry Welsh Catgirl noises*Explanation Nia is voiced by Welsh actress Catrin-Mai Huw, who provides her with a Welsh accent so thick that it would break your knife if you tried to cut through it. Combine that with Nia's short temper and Deadpan Snarker tendencies, and you get this.
- "Firegirl Nia" Explanation While not quite as thick as Catrin-Mai Huw's accent, Fireman Sam was notable for having Welsh accents.
- "Aaaaaaand we're yur!" Explanation Sometimes when traveling a long distance, Nia will say "Aaaaaand we're here", but her welsh accent makes her pronounce it as "Yur".
- Pyra drinking teaExplanation The shot of Pyra, well, drinking tea in Chapter 4 has also been pretty exploitable.
- "The salt here is lovely."Explanation A variant used to mock people who are disproportionately upset over silly/minor stuff, such as the character's inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Derivates from the phrase Pyra says during the scene, "The tea here is... lovely."
- Mythra's squatExplanation One of Mythra's Idle Animations is to squat, resting one hand on her chin, and look around impatiently (even during scenes like in the middle of a conversation), which fans quickly caught on and liked.
- This picture of Mòrag◊ is often used alongside the phrases "This is the culmination of years of training!" and "There's a reason why I'm Special Inquisitor."
- "I am Roc! Always have been, always will be!"Explanation Roc's summon quote in battle. However, it's memetic due to the context that it's not defined as male or female when it comes to mercenary missions, often referring to this quote as an explanation.
- "I often wonder whether we are growing as a people... or in fact, regressing."Explanation This quote of Amalthus is sometimes used on internet forums as a response to particularly questionable posts and comments.
- "These 'I got KOS-MOS!' posts keep getting smarter/subtler..."Explanation In the game's early days, there were many people posting screenshots of KOS-MOS' post-pull screen, excited that they had finally obtained the extremely rare and powerful Blade. Although such posts have died down considerably, people will use this to poke fun at ANY screenshot that includes KOS-MOS in it, no matter the context, even if it comes from official sources.
- "I'll bash you up proper next time, I swear!"Explanation Nia's quote whenever she loses a fight is also a very memorable quote due to the potential number of times powerful enemies such as Territorial Rotbart can get in your way and instantly kill you. It is even more popular due to Nia's Welsh accent when using English voices.
- Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrosa.Explanation The battles against the Gigantic Artificial Blade Rosa are memorable for being ludicrously campy and over-the-top, but arguably their defining characteristic is Bana's extreme Large Ham performance, where he emphatically rolls his R's especially when pronouncing Rosa's name. It's quite common for people to spell out Bana's Trrrilling Rrrs phonetically when talking about him and/or Rosa.
- "Wrong! But also right! Truth is complicated!"Explanation From the confrontation with Bana in Chapter 6, where he plans to use Giga Rosa to assassinate Queen Raqura and start a war between Uraya and Mor Ardain to bring him back into power. It's used as an alternative to "Well, yes, but actually no." And yes, there's again the factor of his Large Ham delivery.
- "I love you, and all you guys!"Explanation A reference to when Rex rejects Nia. Due to the way it is said, it is typically referred to as Rex wanting a harem or jokes about Rex being very dense.
- "Rogue! Rogue! Rogue! Rogue! Rogue! Rogue! Rogue! Rogue! Everbero! Rogue! Rogue! Rogue! Rogue! Rogue!"Explanation The Phantasms's very frequent battle cries. Very commonly associated with the battle track "Monster Surprised You" due to that song playing in this battle.
- Malos the Tank EngineExplanation A decent amount of the English voice actors for this game have done work for Thomas & Friends, but Malos's is the most notable due to its sheer Playing Against Type.
- "In Indol, there are a great many paintings that depict all manner of hells... but I think... real hell... might be closer to something like this." Explanation Used in a similar manner to "I often wonder if are growing as a people or in fact regressing". An example of this being used is for cringeworthy comments and videos mainly to show disgust.
- Mythra is a simpleton Explanation Because of Mythra's reckless use of her Aegis powers, Brighid and Lora both called her out on it, labeling her as a "simpleton". Fans have started to affectionately refer to Mythra as "best simpleton" due to warming up to her Character Development, making her appear more than just a prickly Tsundere as she did in the main game.
- "Indeed!" Explanation During the cutscene where Malos summons Ophion on Rex and Pneuma, when Pneuma points out that it's Ophion, Malos shouts out the word. Typically used to show how much Malos shouts, but also used in a similar manner to M Bison's "Of Course!".
- "Flora heals an aching soul!" Explanation Dromarch's Botany Field Skill voice clip whenever the player checks a Botany collection spot. Because Gormott has a ton of Botany collection spots, expect to hear this particular voice clip a lot.
- "I like your attitude!" Explanation Rex's combat chatter when encouraging his current Blade. Considering how often he says this in the early game, some players consider it Rex's take on "I'm really feeling it!"
- "I don't get it, but I'm not complaining!"Explanation (SPOILERS) Rex says this after unlocking Pyra and Mythra's combined form and using her Reality Warping powers to match Jin at lightspeed. Used whenever something goes unexpectedly in one's favor, or something cool happens without explanation.
- Ponytail Mythra Explanation (spoilers) In Chapter 8, Rex tells Mythra that he preferred her hair in her Pneuma form, where she had long green hair in a Tomboyish Ponytail. Many fanartists found it to be a fetish just as much as Rex does, and starting putting out art of base form Mythra either tying her hair in or already wearing a similar ponytail.
- The Architect watched too much hentai. Explanation (spoilers) Klaus, the Architect, has created Alrest out of guilt and is the "lighter" half. Due to game being known for heavier female fanservice than its predecessor, the fandom assumes his more noble half is "a man of culture" and "not quite 100% light".
- Klaus destroyed the world for Welsh catgirls.Explanation (spoilers) While Cat Girls have certainly been done before in both anime and video games, catgirls with Welsh accents like the Gormotti (and particularly Nia) are as far as we know unique to Xenoblade, so one variation of the above meme claims that Klaus went ahead with the experiment to fulfill his very specific fetish.
- Spin to Win Explanation Mythra's Lightspeed Flurry (which boosts Art recharge on critical hits) combined with her solid critical hit rate allows Rex to fire off several Arts in rapid succession—two of which, Double Spinning Edge and Rolling Smash, involve him spinning to strike the enemy. The meme saw a revival with Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed, as Rex still has both Arts in his moveset in that game, and Double Spinning Edge even comes with Lightspeed Flurry's effect built in, making it just as spammably powerful as it was in this game.
- Zeke is Sans Explanation (spoilers) In New Game Plus, Zeke's Eye of Shining Justice becomes an actual ability that he can unlock from his second Affinity Chart. Once activated, his left eyepatch gains a blue flame as he becomes much faster and his damage output skyrockets, leading to comparisons with fellow Memetic Badass Sans and his own glowing left eye along with his hidden, yet powerful fighting capabilities.
- Rule 5 of the Salvager Code Explanation Rex cites several rules of the Salvager Code throughout the game, with Rule 5 being the only one that's unknown since Mythra leaves before Rex can say more than "Always be-" Fans like to come up with their own idea of what Rule 5 is or claim that Rex not saying it will lead to calamity, with one popular variant using audio from a condom PSA with a voiceover that sounds extremely close to Al Weaver. The meme saw a bit of a resurgence with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 due to the lead heroine, Mio, possibly being Rex's daughter with Nia, leading fans to joke that Rex would make Mio's boyfriend Noah memorize the Salvager Code (including Rule 5) as an Engagement Challenge, and again with Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed, where a comment from Rex explaining nonbinary gender identities created jokes that Rule 5 was about supporting LGBTQ rights.
- Mankini ToraExplanation The concept art book for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition features an unused swimsuit option for Tora depicting him in a sling bikini. The Squicky Fan Disservice as well as Tora's own controversial reputation has led to it being commonly spammed as a kind of troll image.
- The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 CurseExplanation A joke "curse" which states that anyone who criticizes the game's female character designs for being too Fanservicey will eventually be revealed to have even more depraved sexual interests and/or be a registered sex offender.
