• "SODA, COLOGNE AND A CHEETAH, TO MASSAGE TODAY HUGE COW!"^Explanation A misinterpretation of the first season anime opening, "Sono Chi No Sadame", courtesy of a very drunk Vinesauce Joel. The actual lyrics are "Sora, koboreochita futatsu no hoshi ga".
• Every time a strange or ridiculous event takes place in the later parts, fans often say that "This all happened because a carriage crashed in 1880 England".
• Fans have widely parodied the fact that Dio and Jonathan, even at twelve years old, already have the voices of grown men.
  • Another much ridiculed point is how hideous-looking Dio's father Dario is, bringing fans to wonder just how such an ugly dude could have such a devilishly good-looking son.^* To be fair, his mother certainly seemed easy on the eyes.
• "Even Speedwagon is afraid!"^Explanation A panel of a frightened Speedwagon with Jonathan Narrating the Obvious after Dio reveals his newfound vampire powers. Some interpret this as Speedwagon himself talking in third person, which wouldn't seem out of place due to his personality.
  • It's fun to make variations of his name: Speedbump, Rapidtrolley, Fastkart, Velocityvehicle, Co-Producer Speed Weed, REO... who is nervous, impressed, timid, astounded...
  • "Speedwagon withdraws coolly."
  • Speedwagon also has the Fan Nickname Moewagon, due to his devotion and support of Jonathan.
  • Speedwagon is also labeled as "best girl" or "Waifu/Wife" material.
• Zeppeli punching a frog has become widely memed as being one of the series' first truly absurd moments, as well as kickstarting a long chain of apparent animal cruelty seemingly always involving dogs and frogs.^* Though in this case, the frog was unharmed, and Zeppeli didn't intend to harm it in the first place.
• "You thought this would be [X], but it was I, Dio!" (alternatively for the one after comma: "Kono Dio da!") ^Explanation Another Dio classic. Originally, it was a boast to Erina about stealing her first kiss from Jonathan during the start of Phantom Blood. The phrase got so popular that it's used as a punchline for a Bait-and-Switch joke for just about everything or any cases of someone/something named 'Dio' elsewhere.
  • Dio's Stardust Crusaders dub VA seemed to be aware enough of this to use it as confirmation to who he was voicing.
  • The English dub even uses that specific phrasing when the original line was closer to "Your first [kiss] wasn't JoJo. It was I, Dio!"

• Jonathan feeding Danny a grape was widely mocked by the fandom, saying that Jonathan was a terrible pet owner and that Dio "was just cremating Danny."
• Many fans found it difficult to sympathize with Jonathan's father after he pretty much played favorites with Dio, with many joking that "he pretty much had it coming" when he adopted a kid who burns dogs alive.
• "Tell me... To undo your injuries, how many innocent lives did you consume?"
  • "I don't know. How many loaves of bread have you eaten in your lifetime?"^Explanation One of the oldest memes in fandom. The comparison is so silly it's funny, and made funnier by most versions of the meme using the grammatically-awkward "breads" instead of "loaves of bread". Especially since Dio hasn't even been a vampire for more than a few weeks at this point, so it's not as if he's been eating people for a long time. Just change "lives consumed" and "bread" with other words and it's hilariously exploitable.
• "NANI WO SURUNDA?! YURUSAN!!!"/"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?! HOW DARE YOU!!!" ^Explanation Jonathan's surprise/shock when Dio kicks his dog for no reason, with the Japanese phrase itself being a typo. Despite saying it only once as a kid, it became his Catchphrase and videogame taunt (likely due to the aforementioned grammatical error). It was used a lot on forums to show surprise/shock.
  • "DIOOOOOOOOO!!!"^Explanation Said when Jonathan discovers Dio kissed Erina by force (and other times), and then fights with him. People usually make use of this quote when Dio appears or does something evil.
  • The scene where a frustrated Jonathan repeatedly screams "Dio! DIO DIO DIO!" and rolls down a hill has been humorously cited by fans as "the entirety of JJBA in a nutshell."
• "Dio did nothing wrong!" ^Explanation A tongue-in-cheek way of justifying Dio's absolutely horrid acts, such as: "Danny attacked Dio first", or "Dio accidentally bought poison from Wang Chan thinking it was medicine and gave it to George".
• "I Reject My Humanity" also known as "I'm Throwing Away My Humanity". Widely memed in various contexts, ranging from Dio being a furry, to Dio being unable to use CAPTCHA, to jokes about "Reject Modernity, Return to Monke", a meme further helped along by Dio's voice actor also playing the ape-like Beast Titan from Attack on Titan.
  • The dub is no slouch either: "I'm About To Become So Much More", which is no surprise as Dio's dub voice actor played a more-than-human pirate in Soulcalibur VI.
• Goodbye, JoJo! ^Explanation Dio has a propensity for Gratuitous English in the 2012 anime, and delivers the line with some pretty awkward pronunciation and emphasis, along with the fact that he sounds like Kermit the Frog as he says it.
• I can even lift this (heavy) rock! ^Explanation A surreal moment after Zeppeli heals Jonathan's arm, he demonstrates his restored strength by lifting a rock about the size of a bowling ball. The problem is, he's never shown bending down to pick it up, and he just sort of lifts it from the bottom of the screen at the elbow as if it appeared in his hand. A minor meme that didn't pick up quite to the level of most others listed here.
  • "Can pick up a boulder, with relative ease!" ^Explanation This also drew memetic comparisons to a lyric in the DK Rap from Donkey Kong 64 about Chunky Kong lifting rocks.
• You fell for it, fool! Thunder Cross Split Attack!^Explanation The signature Hamon attack of Dire, which became widely parodied by the fandom, and similar to KONO DIO DA, has been randomly inserted into punchlines as a non sequitur. It's also evolved into a rickroll-esque image.
• An image of Henry Cavill from the Enola Holmes trailer as Sherlock Holmes was widely memed by the fandom, photoshopping Jonathan's colors onto him and Zeppeli's colors onto a man in a top hat next to him. The image has spawned many memes of people suggesting Cavill be cast as Jonathan Joestar should a live-action adaptation of Phantom Blood ever be produced.
• Erina is the strongest Joestar ^{Explanation (NSFW)} It's often jokingly said that Erina is the most powerful member of the Joestar family. Why? Because she was able to survive Jonathan's "massive Joestar cock". Originated as part of the "Oi, Josuke" meme (see the Part 4 page), but has since taken a life of its own.
