Lodgeworld is a series of light novels adapted from roleplays between Craig Bayfield and Tricia Greiner. Sega City is a bustling metropolis which is recovering from a golden age of superhero activity. In that time it has become a gathering point for people born with superhuman abilities. The plot revolves around the residents of an open-house lodge outside of the city for powered individuals to live. Each novel revolves around a different theme and set of characters from the ensemble cast.
So far the novels are:
- Double Act - Tricia Greiner is caught in an accident which grants her electricity based super powers and introduces her to the powered world of Sega City.
- Eternal Optimism of the Exceedingly Average - Craig Bayfield has only just started off in the real world, holding down a job and apartment, when his childhood imaginary friend returns to tell him how he -should- live his life.
- Saygrem - Stressed Bayfield has separated from Craig and has decided that to be his own person he needs to walk his own path, he travels to another world where a holy war is ravaging the land and becomes tangled up in affairs.
- Passing Time - The story of a young girl on the run with her father, a rebellious youth being raised in a monastery and a young girl thrust back in time to the home of her parents at the start of their relationship. All three tales mingle and combine in a story of time travel, gods and parental bonds.
- Normal - Craig Bayfield is tired of being mixed in with all of the insanity of the lodge and its growing family of powered citizens, in a fit of anger he proclaims that he would be happier if everyone were normal. He wakes up the next morning to find he got just what he wished for.
- Brotherhood: Anonymous - Reporter Ken Ellis finds himself tied up in a story regarding cults who abduct young children and raise them to revile the ideals of parenthood. In his investigations he meets Brother Seven, a child abducted so early on in life that she does not know of life outside of the cult.
Two special discontinuity books are set in an alternate future.
- Confessions of a Combat Waitress - Jane Matthews is a waitress at a small Sega City diner and she enjoys talking about the political climate of the city in days gone by and in sharing her wisdom she attracts the attention of some of the figures from those old times.
- Grief - Amberleigh Anderson is dead, killed by an anti-power protester. Consumed by grief, Stressed uses her death as a platform to abandon his life in Sega City and return to the world of Saygrem to finish off the work that he had started there years ago.
Lodgeworld provides examples of:
- Aborted Arc: Stressed and Tamara have often gone on offworld adventures
- Achilles' Heel: The three sisters are reduced to lifeless dolls when their necklaces are removed.
- Alternate Continuity: The "15 years later" novels take place in a world where Isaac's riots overtook the city. In main continuity there was a peaceful resolution.
- All There in the Manual: Lee Cypher, a main character, started appearing in the cast while the novel with his introduction was being written.
- A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Read: Penny's initial arrest is because she awoke to her telepathic abilities in class and found out what all her classmates thought of her.
- And I Must Scream: Sapphire's first century of existence was spent in a darkened void with no air or light hopelessly searching for the portal creating sword which could help her escape.
- Ascended Extra: Quirky Mini Boss Squad members Bird and Irvine have remained in the cast long after the Anti-Lodge arc ended.
- Bad Boss: Indra Ketaki. She points guns at 9 year old girls to prove points, shoots hostages to make them co-operate. One can only imagine what she's like to work for.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Cari is powerful, threaten her and become a block of ice.
- Big Bad: Doe in the Doe arc, Bling in the substance arc and Ethan King in the Anti-Lodge arc.
- Big, Screwed-Up Family: Craig's extended family consists of his wife, three fragments of his own soul, his daughter from the future and his father who he has only met as the photographer for his wedding. Adding in his half-soul brother's girlfriend and her sisters and their boyfriends, the majority of the cast is related to Craig somehow.
- Blessed with Suck: Tricia's electricity powers burn her hands unless channelled through special gloves.
- Brought Down to Normal: The point of the Power Suppressor Serum as a way of policing powered citizens. Also Goddess Ruby had her powers sealed.
- Bullying a Dragon: Navi cannot resist doing this. Reynold also enjoys pushing Indra's buttons.
- Card-Carrying Villain: Professor Bling. Justified in that being a super villain is bored billionaire Lucian King's hobby.
- Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are: Subverted by Doe who used this trope to trick Cari in to leaving another character defenseless.
- Crazy-Prepared: Ethan King, oh heavens, Ethan King. Any event that transpires in the plot he is aware of and has a solution ready.
- Creepy Basement: Joked about often. When it came in plot it's actually just a boiler room with convenient pipes to handcuff Tamara to.
- Despair Event Horizon: Navi's year of imprisonment in the facility.
- Diabolus ex Machina: Ethan King's near limitless supply of hideout spots. So far we have had his penthouse above King Corp, the laboratory underneath the trainyard and the suburban mansion. He switches between them whenever justice comes for him.
- Differently Powered Individuals: Empowered Citizens (EPC).
- Disposing of a Body: Navi usually does this by having the earth swallow up the body. The fact she has done this more than once is worrying.
- The Dulcinea Effect: Lee dedicates himself to Cari based on -a description- of her.
- Dysfunction Junction: And how.
- Equal-Opportunity Evil: Quirky Mini Boss Squad, Anti-Lodge, comprises of 2 black people, a teenager, a blonde and an olive-skinned mercenary of ambiguous nationality.
- Expy: Craig and Tricia are direct author avatars and John Doe in both looks and story is heavily based on Sylar.

Fake American: Irvine. He claims to be American despite being the only character in canon to outright speak like his British creator. - Fantastic Racism: The general attitude of Sega City towards powered citizens. It eventually lead to a protest group being formed.
- The Farmer and the Viper: Subverted by Navi. After restoring Doe's soul and seeing him returning to his old ways she outright kills him to prevent this trope from happening.
- Fate Worse than Death: Sapphire's imprisonment in the abyss. The novel adaption goes in to detail of how her body reacted to the lack of oxygen.
- For the Evulz: Lucian King's life story, more or less.
- Friendly Enemy: Lucian King has become this since he started living at Double Act.
- Future Me Scares Me: Ruby, who witnessed her future self killing her friends, without seeking context she got in to a battle with and ended up killing her future self, having to live the remaining years with the knowledge this would happen to her. Eventually she is able to realign the concept of fate to avert this, it costs her all of her powers as a Goddess, however.
- The Ghost: Doe's soul after it was severed from its body. It haunted the three sisters.
- Homage: Too many to list, though the settlement arc and its build up pay a lot of respect to both X-Men and Heroes.
- I Am Your Father: Inverted. Craig was surprised to discover Kay was his daughter when everyone else knew.
- I Have You Now, My Pretty: Any scene Doe was alone with Tamara or Navi. Moreso Tamara as he spent more time with her trying to sculpt her to fit the dead wife shaped hole in his heart.
- Idiot Ball: Navi catches it whenever she gets hot headed for protection and held it tight enough to cut off brain circulation when she had access to a mirror spirit which leached off of her soul in exchange for brief visions of her inner desires.
- In Harm's Way: Stressed often vanishes for months at a time to "adventure".
- Just Think of the Potential!: Professor Bling invents nano technology to convert a normal human into a biomechanical sleeper agent running on his operating system. Why? ...we'll think about that later. But -think of the potential!-
- Karma Houdini: Despite being convicted of more than one murder and arrested for trying to destroy a prison... Navi is surprisingly free and well-adjusted. Also the entire Anti-Lodge were arrested and back on the streets within a day.
- Knight Templar: Stressed and Ken, one who tried to kill an entire world to stop war and the other who lives and breaths justice more than Batman.
- Love Makes You Evil: Navi would kill for Lee and in fact has when she joined up with the Psychos For Hire.
- Immortality Begins at Twenty: All of the immortal cast, with the sole exception of Cobalt, look between 20 and 40 years old, forever.
- Last of Their Kind: Lee is, to his knowledge, the only half-angel in existence.
- Let Us Never Speak of This Again:
Audience-Alienating Era plotlines. Any evening where Kim decided to have fun with the lodge cast.
- The Power of Blood: Doe's natural ability is to transfer copies of people's souls via their blood.
- Psychological Torment Zone: The Facility, under management of Kiro Ward.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Viki gave Navi some pretty harsh ones over the course of the years.
- Ret-Gone: Many early characters and concepts since the start of the novel series.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Ruby's quest to circumvent destiny itself so she would not go renegade and be killed by her past self.
- Unexplained Recovery: Thanks to Amberleigh and her healing abilities, the entire cast. Stressed's ability to not be dead.
