Heartwarming / Naru-Hina Chronicles

Given that it's a doujinshi that put a lot of focus on romances between Naruto characters, particularly the one between Naruto and Hinata, expect to see a lot of these moments.

Vol. 1: Chapters 1- 8

Chapter 1

• The two children that Naruto, Sakura, and Team 8 are trying to rescue hug each other in relief, causing Hinata to smile at that sight.
• After falling down the waterfall, Hinata wakes up and notices Naruto's jacket covering her. She remembers that he tried to save her and she hugs the jacket before waiting for him to come back. However, once Naruto comes back later on, she's shocked to see all the injuries on his body. As a result, Hinata cries, blaming herself for what happened to him. Naruto then reassures her by saying it was his choice to try and help her, and pulls her into a hug, calming her down:
  Hinata: Ooh! Naruto-kun. Thank you.
• Naruto keeps coughing, resulting in some blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. After shedding some tears at that sight, Hinata cleans up the blood with some cloth and, being this close to Naruto, decides to do their First Kiss.

Chapter 2

• Iruka helps Naruto with asking Hinata out on a date by telling him to treat it as if like it was an A-rank mission. He then mentally notes that Naruto must really like Hinata if he's acting so shy towards her given that he's never been a shy guy, not even with Sakura.
• Naruto nervously asking Hinata to go on a date with him while giving her a flower, to which she naturally accepts while having Tears of Joy.
  • Ino giving some advice to Naruto by telling him to take Hinata to a romantic restaurant. Admittedly, she does that while also calling him an idiot for not having thought about that already, but she clearly wants what's best for her friends.
  • Meanwhile, Sakura is smiling, happy for Naruto.
• At night, Sakura is shedding tears while thinking about the missing Sasuke. The next few panels show the latter having some "weird feeling", implying that he sensed Sakura's reaction.
  • Meanwhile, while sleeping, Hinata is excited over having her first date with Naruto, while the latter is dreaming of her giving him ramen, with a pleasant smile on his face.

Chapter 3

• The date doesn't go like Naruto planned: During their picnic, he accidentally knocked Hinata out, he tried to not say anything stupid (resulting in the two of them barely talking), and it started to rain, causing the two of them to go to Ichiraku instead (the one place Naruto tried to avoid for once). Afterwards, Naruto deems it a failure (much to his disappointment) and tells Hinata that he'll see her around. After making a few steps away from her, she runs up to him and hugs him, telling him she doesn't care where they go and that she just wants to be with him, much to his great surprise.
• Later on, Naruto and Hinata are sitting on a bench. Hinata apologizes to Naruto for jumping onto him, only for him to say he should also apologize:
  Naruto: I wanted today to be so great. A perfect date. I tried to do everything Ino said I should do. I set up something romantic, and I knock you out. I tried to be a gentleman and not open my big mouth and say something stupid, but we ended up not saying anything at all. And to top it off, it starts to rain, we get soaked through and end up at the one place Ino said I shouldn't take you. And I just felt that I had let everyone down. Especially you. But when you came running up and said you didn't care where we went, that you just wanted to be with me. I realised I hadn't been me all day. [grins at her] So I'm sorry for being so late to our date. Hee hee hee! Hinata-chan!
  • He then says she really looks pretty in a dress, making her blush. They move closer to each other and...
    Naruto: Um... Hinata-chan. Can I...
    (She kisses him on the mouth, and he kisses her back.)
    Naruto: [grinning at her while she's smiling at him] Hey. You never let me finish asking!
• Sakura having Tears of Joy upon seeing Sasuke in the Hokage's office:
  Sakura: You're... You're home!

Chapter 4

• Sasuke explains why he came back to Konoha: After dealing with Itachi, he felt he had no purpose. He then thought about where he had been the happiest and realized that being in Konoha was when he would occasionally not think about revenge:
  Sasuke: So... what I'm saying is... I really missed this place.
• The first thing Naruto does after being reunited with Sasuke... is punching him on the head and calling him a baka. They insult each other while Sakura is once again angry and ready to hurt Naruto. In a funny way, it is heartwarming to see that their classic dynamic is back after all this time:
  Kakashi: [looking exasperated alongside Tsunade] Not even together for five minutes, and it's like they've never been apart!
• When Sasuke is leaving with the ANBU guys, Sakura notices that he's smiling at her, making her blush:
  Sakura: [thinking] D... Did... Did Sasuke just... smile at me?
• Hinata was afraid that Hiashi wouldn't approve of her relationship with Naruto because the latter is not exactly up to Hyuga standards, even going so far as to lie to her father by claiming Naruto was just a friend while the latter was present. However, it turns out Hiashi was not against her daughter dating Naruto. He then tells her to go apologize to Naruto and that he expects the two of them to be present at the Hyuga residence the next day so they can have a talk and lay down some ground rules, much to Hinata's happiness.
• Sakura tries to reassure Naruto by telling him that Hinata probably doesn't want to break up with him just because they had a fight, as lots of couples have them.
• Hinata, while wearing a kimono, finds Naruto at Ichiraku. She starts to apologize, only to be interrupted by Sakura saying:
  Sakura: Um... Hinata?
  Naruto: [blushing, smiling widely, and with stars around his head] Hinata-chan so pretty!
  Sakura: [smiling and pointing her thumb towards Naruto] I think you got him as soon as you walked in here!

Chapter 5

• While hanging out with Konohamaru, Hinata nervously asks Naruto if the two of them could go somewhere alone and do "boyfriend girlfriend stuff". Both of them leave without Konohamaru noticing immediately, with the next page showing Naruto and Hinata running while laughing and blushing at each other.

Chapter 6

• Ino wakes up at the hospital and shows concern towards her Aunt Hotaru. Sakura reassures her that Hotaru will pull through given that Tsunade is working on it. Ino then remembers that her aunt is pregnant and asks about the baby. Much to Ino's relief, Sakura tells her that the baby is fine.
• Naruto and Hinata sharing a tender moment where they're kissing and hugging each other. This is followed by Naruto smiling at Hinata and expressing how surprised he was when she thought about going somewhere alone and do "boyfriend girlfriend stuff".
• Naruto, Hinata, Kiba, and Akamaru come across Mina, who is crying alone in the forest. She tells them about Ino calling her a coward at the hospital because she brought Ino to the hospital instead of helping Hotaru. They try to comfort her, with Naruto saying she did the right thing while Kiba agrees with him:
  Mina: [blushing and smiling] Oh... umm... A... Arigato Kiba-kun.
  Kiba: [blushing] Well... umm... I'm just agreeing with Naruto that's all.
• Akamaru is heavily injured by Rokuro. Mina realizes the only thing that could save him is a Jutsu that Tsunade has forbidden her from ever using because it could kill her. She performs the Jutsu regardless for Akamaru and Kiba's sake.
• Akamaru is healed and Mina survives the Jutsu, but can't move. Kiba has to tell Tsunade about the dangerous situation Naruto and Hinata are currently in. Mina tells him to leave her there, but Kiba will have none of it and decides to carry her in his arms.

Chapter 8

• Naruto is in his Two-Tailed Fox form, behaving like a wild beast. He's scaring Hinata, who trips and is about to fall into a crater. Fortunately, Naruto comes back to normal and saves her in the nick of time, much to her relief.
• Sakura recounts the stuff that happened in the month following the day they had to deal with Rokuro:
  • Inoichi (Ino's father) gave a stern lecture to his sister Hotaru before hugging her non-stop for ten minutes.
  • It turns out Iruka is one of Hotaru's former classmates. He has visited her several times at the hospital, making her happier as a result. To the point that Ino thinks there is something between them.
  • Kiba has gotten really close with Mina after she saved Akamaru. At one point while at the hospital, Kiba tried to help her back into bed. However, she fell off and dragged him to the floor, resulting in their Official Kiss.
• Naruto tells Sakura that he's been unable to say "I love you" to Hinata the other day. She reassures him by saying that, having seen these two together, she's sure he'll be able to say it sometime.
• Not only are Sasuke and Sakura going on a date, but Sasuke is the one who asked her out instead of the other way around.
  • They then tell Naruto the story of how it happened: Sakura frequently visited Sasuke in the ANBU cells and he eventually started talking to her; she didn't care what he had done and supported her during the hearing; she made his 6 months probation and suspension feel like nothing before helping him settle back in his home; and after spending all this time together...
    Sakura: And then... He asked me out!
    Sasuke: It just... suddenly came out. 'Sakura, would you go out with me?'
    Sakura: I was so shocked. But said yes!
    Sasuke: The next thing I know... we're in each other's arms.
• Naruto telling Hinata how cute the latter is when she worries about him, making her blush once more.

Vol. 2: Chapters 9- 16

Chapter 9

• Neji arrives to defend Tenten against her abusive ex-boyfriend Yori by hitting the latter. She then learns that Neji previously hit Yori after the latter broke up with her. Neji admits he did so after seeing her cry back then. He then cups Tenten's face in concern and calls it pretty while she's blushing. This is followed by him berating himself for being so inappropriate towards her, only for Tenten to tell him he can be as inappropriate with her as he wants and she kisses him, silencing any protest from him.
• Over a year after they started dating, Naruto is still unable to say "I love you" to Hinata. He apologizes for not being able to say it and thinks she must hate him for that, but she says she could never hate him and that being alone for so long makes it hard for him to give his love to anyone, even to her. Hinata then says she can wait forever to hear him say those words. Hearing this, Naruto immediately and finally says those three words, much to her joy as they kiss each other passionately.
  • After such a kiss, they decide to go outside and get some air. Naruto smiles at Hinata, causing her to ask him what is it. He walks up to her, cups her face, and tells her she's "so beautiful" before kissing her again. This is followed by the next morning, the two of them lying together in the same bed after they had Their First Time:
    Naruto: [thinking while smiling] I know Hiashi-sama is gonna kill me. But right now... I just don't care.

Chapter 10

• Because of what Rokuro did to his body, Naruto is dying. He then hears both Hinata and Sakura crying for him, and this motivates him to not give up and to survive this situation. Later on, he wakes up in a hospital room and finds Hinata sitting next to him, having fallen asleep. After she slowly wakes up, Naruto smiles at her, calls her "Sleeping Beauty", and asks her if she was having a nice dream. She wastes no time giving him a big hug, relieved to see him safe and sound.

Chapter 11

• During the previous Chunin Exams, Shikamaru and Temari were having an argument. Said argument was interrupted when they arrived at the hotel Temari was staying at, making her realize he was walking her home. She was so touched by what Shikamaru did that she kissed him.
  • In the present, after Temari explains why she kissed him (saying that she was grateful to see him act like a gentleman and that it felt nice to be treated like a girl and not just a warrior), Shikamaru complains about how time-wasting this conversation is and decides to make-out with her, much to her pleasure.
• Hinata finds Hanabi crying, who then explains she made a fool out of herself to Konohamaru (whom she has a crush on) by punching him on the head after he touched her forehead with his hand. Hinata then reassures Hanabi by saying she's sure Konohamaru will forgive her little sister if the latter asks him. Why? Because much like Naruto, he's "very sweet, very kind and always forgiving". Hanabi thanks her for what she said, as it made her feel very better.
• Naruto helps Takara against two jerks who wanted to steal her box. He does so without asking anything in return. When he's about to leave, Takara decides to help him find an item he needs to proceed to the next part of the Chunin Exams.
  • Naruto also compliments Takara by saying she must be an awesome fighter if she was able to hold off two guys with only one arm.

Chapter 12

• Ichiro thinks Naruto and Takara are flirting with each other, and he decides to punch the former. When Takara angrily asks him why he did this, Ichiro says he didn't like the way she and Naruto were flirting with each other. She then angrily asks him why he would think that, and he admits that he was a little jealous. Takara's taken aback by that and Ichiro says he wants them to be more than friends. Observing them, Naruto decides to leave them alone and go find the item he needs.
• Tenten tries to concentrate on her duties as a blocker, but she's unable to stop daydreaming about Neji, with Mina commenting that Tenten did this four times within an hour.
• The two people in charge of surveilling the gate to the Forest of Death are a married couple named Kenji and Miko. They have a cute moment when Kenji compliments Miko for bringing some breakfast while the latter expresses how glad she is that they were assigned to the same gate.

Chapter 13

• On his way to the stadium, Naruto comes across Ino, who is a medical-nin for the Chunin Exams. Upon recognizing him, she looks upset and tells him to go quickly before the blocker she's been assigned to arrives, as the blocker in question is none other than Hinata. In this case, it's clear Ino wanted to prevent the couple from having to deal with the awkwardness of fighting each other.
• Sasuke comes across Lee as one of the blockers, who allows the former to talk to his medical-nin, which is Sakura. When she tells him that time's nearly up, Sasuke tells her he was trying to help Naruto find an item, only to interrupt himself and quickly tell her that he missed her.
• After Naruto defeats her, Hinata gives him a good luck kiss for the remainder of the exams.

Chapter 14

• In the audience, Hanabi notices Konohamaru arriving next to her. She gets nervous about it given what happened earlier on, but she is surprised to see him offering a box of chocolate to her so she would forgive him for whatever he did that made her hit him. Hanabi tries to explain it wasn't his fault, only to simply accept the gift and kiss him on the cheek, much to Konohamaru's surprise. He then sits next to her, much to her joy as she feels like they're on a date.
  • Hinata arrives immediately after. Konohamaru assumes he took her seat, causing Hanabi to be sad over this date already being over. Fortunately, Hinata decides to let him keep her seat, and mentally notes "They must have made up. So cute!"

Chapter 15

• Ichiro got injured during the fight because of a dumb mistake he did and Takara berates him for what he did. He responds by pulling her closer to him and kissing her, causing her anger to be replaced by the joy of kissing him back.
• Naruto's joyful expression over finally becoming a Chunin.
• Upon realizing that Hinata was jealous when she saw him lying on top of Hanajima, Naruto reassures her by holding her hands in his and saying:
  Naruto: Hinata! I love you. And you should never have to be jealous of anyone. You're the only one I want, there will never be anyone else other than you, OK?
• While going on a walk with Hinata, Naruto tries to tell her something that seems to worry him, but decides against it. She then tearfully tells him to not do this again, as he promised her to not bottle things up anymore after what happened with Rokuro and to come to her if he had a problem, before reminding him he's not alone anymore. After Naruto says it's just some stupid idea he got in his head, Hinata tells him to tell her anyway. He finally explains that, after almost being stabbed by a sword during the fight at the stadium, he thought about what could happen in the future regarding the two of them:
  Naruto: Hinata, we both know the dangers of the Shinobi life. But I want to be Hokage one day, and that means I'll be taking more dangerous missions, facing death a lot more. I... I... I'm worried... that... you won't want to... stick around... worrying everytime I'm out on a mission.
  Hinata: Oh! [grabs him in her arms] I don't think I'll ever stop... worrying about you Naruto. I... I love you too much. [about to kiss him] I hope you never die, but I would rather love and lose you, than lose you twice.
  Naruto: I told you... Just a stupid idea!
• Naruto learns that Shikamaru and Temari are dating. He promises them to not tell anyone about it.
• At 2 AM, Naruto hears some knocks at the door. He opens the door and finds Hinata, carrying a backpack and crying. He lets her stay in for the night. When Neji arrives the next morning, he refuses to tell Naruto what happened, as it is between Hinata and Hiashi. Hinata decides to tell Naruto, revealing that her father told her to break up with her boyfriend because the latter was reckless with the explosion at the stadium and that she should find someone more appropriate for the clan's image. She had a fight with Hiashi over it and decided to leave the Hyuga residence to come to Naruto's appartment. Naruto agrees to let her stay and tells Neji he can tell Hiashi that Hinata has made her choice and is staying with him, whether he likes it or not. Before Neji leaves, he smiles at Hinata and tells her he's glad she's making her own fate. She smiles back and tells him "Arigato."
• When Naruto explains he's not sure whether or not he should use the money that the late Jiraiya left to him, Tsunade reassures him by telling him he shouldn't worry as Jiraiya left him that money to do with as he wanted.

Chapter 16

• Hinata's reaction over seeing the new house she and Naruto will be moving in, as she is so excited that she's ready to move in that night:
  Naruto: So. Do you like it?
  Hinata: [gives him a big hug] LIKE IT?! I LOVE IT! IT'S OURS!
  Naruto: Whoa?! Hahaha.
• Hiashi agrees to Hinata's terms so that she will forgive him, but he also has some terms of his own: among other things, he will not accept Naruto and the latter will not be welcomed in Hiashi's home. Hinata is outraged by this, but Naruto tells her it's okay as he doesn't want her to lose her family because of him.
• Shizune has to find someone who can be a diplomatic messenger, whose job would be to run important messages between the heads of Konoha and Suna. If she doesn't find one, she'll be forced to take on the job herself (which she doesn't want to). So far, all of the Shinobi she asked for that job said no. Shizune finds Naruto, explains her problem, and asks him if he would be willing to take that job. He declines, much to her disappointment. Fortunately, Naruto realizes that Shikamaru might be willing to accept her offer. Much to Shizune's joy, Shikamaru does accept it, partly so it will allow him to see Temari more often.
• After Tenten comments that Hinata is becoming "quite the little house-wife", Hinata imagines herself as Naruto's wife and faints. When she wakes up, Naruto is carrying her in his arms while Tenten is carrying their shopping bags:
  Hinata: W... Why are you carrying me?
  Naruto: You fainted. So I'm carrying you home.
  Hinata: Oh! You... You don't have to do that.
  Naruto: It's OK. I enjoy holding you.
  Hinata: Oh.
  Tenten: [thinking while smiling] So sweet.

Vol. 3: Chapters 17- 24

Chapter 18

• Gaara has noticed some changes in a certain someone, more so since Shikamaru's arrival in Suna:
  Shikamaru: [nervous] And... Umm... Who is that?
  Gaara: It's OK to have secrets. I'm sure, when she's ready, she'll tell me. But I hope the change you bring to her is making her happy. She definitely seems to be happier more than I have ever seen her before.
• Gaara asks some advice from Naruto regarding his relationship with Matsuri. Naruto tells him that, unlike when they were kids, they're not alone anymore and he should just trust her. After Naruto leaves, Gaara surprises Matsuri with a kiss:
  Matsuri: [thinking] Oh?! Gaara! Finally. [speaking after they stop kissing] Gaara. Just what came over you all of sudden?
  Gaara: Naruto gave me some advice. And... I want to.. to tell you that I love you.
  Matsuri: Oh! Gaara... I... [hugs him] I love you! I love you! I love you!
• Naruto and Shikamaru are leaving Suna when Gaara notices Temari's sad look. He tells her he can see that Shikamaru makes her happy when he's present and sad when he's not, and to just say goodbye to him properly. Happy to hear that, Temari runs up to her boyfriend and plants a kiss on his mouth:
  Temari: I'll miss you. So hurry back OK, Shikamaru.
  Shikmaru: I'll miss you too, Temari.

Chapter 19

• Shikamaru orders Naruto to hide his face until they meet Tsunade, who will then decide what to do, as Shikamaru doesn't want someone they know to freak out over seeing Naruto alive. Unfortunately, they come across Hinata and Sakura, with Naruto noticing how sad Hinata is due to him being declared KIA several days ago. All four of them meet Tsunade at the hospital, but she's too busy to hear what Shikamaru has to say, who has enough and tells Naruto to finally reveal himself. Everyone else is shocked to see the latter alive. Hinata tearfully and angrily slaps Naruto for not revealing himself to her sooner, saying she hates him before saying she missed him so much, while Naruto comforts her in his arms. At the same time, Shikamaru is willing to tell Tsunade and Sakura what happened, but he also tells them they should give Naruto and Hinata some room, which is then followed by...
  Naruto: Hinata, I... I'm sorry for all this mess. I didn't...
  Hinata: Naruto. Don't talk.
  [They kiss.]
• Naruto realizes there is something important he forgot. After putting a lot of effort, he remembers that he has the cure for Mina's disease in his pocket, thus saving her life.
• Naruto is feeling sadness over the ninjas he had to kill to get the cure. Tsunade tries to comfort him by keeping him company for a while and telling him he doesn't have to say anything else.
• Mina wakes up and sees Kiba smiling at her. He says he's been waiting to see her cute smile again, to which she naturally does in response. Mina then tells him she wants a kiss from her boyfriend and he happily gives her The Big Damn Kiss.
  • Sakura notices what they're doing and mentally notes "Awww. That's so sweet."
• Ino comments to Sakura how dreary things were this morning, but things are looking up again now that Naruto's back and Mina's gonna be OK. Sakura agrees and comments it's so good to see Hinata smile again:
  Ino: I'm so happy for [Hinata].
• When they return to their home, Hinata offers to Naruto to get some dinner for them. However, he grabs her hand and pulls her into his arms, telling her he's not really that hungry and he just wants to hold her in his arms and to kiss her.
  • After they kiss, Naruto tells Hinata what he had to do to get the cure for Mina. It looks like he learned from his mistakes and he's more willing to talk to his girlfriend.
• In the middle of the night, Hinata hears Naruto having some nightmare. Once he wakes up, she wastes no time trying to comfort him.
  • Hinata reveals to Naruto that, when she thought he was dead, she had nightmares where he was injured and calling out to her. Fortunately, those nightmares went away and she thinks his nightmares will do the same eventually. Then, before kissing her again, he says this:
    Naruto: Hinata. I'm so sorry. I wish I could promise it won't ever happen again. But the only promise I can keep is to love you every moment we're together.
  • They then have sex, where Hinata tells Naruto that he's what makes her the happiest, and he says the same thing about her. And after they reach the climax, they say "I love you!" to each other, this time in unison.

Chapter 20

• The previous night, Sasuke really wanted to see Naruto after learning that the latter was still alive, only to be disappointed when Sakura told him it would be best to let their friend spend some time with Hinata first.
• While waiting for Naruto and Sakura, Sasuke admits to Hinata that he "actually missed having the knucklehead around" when the latter was thought to be dead. Hinata giggles and tells him that he's "just a big softy under all that cool exterior", although Sasuke tells her he'll deny it if she spreads it around.
• Tsunade tells Naruto she can't use any jutsus to make him remember everything that happened the day he almost died without any risk. He's upset over this, but she tells him she just wants to protect him from any more harm before noticing he's smiling and asks him why he's doing that. Naruto replies that when she's acting all caring like that, he just kinda feels like she's his mom and it feels nice, making Tsunade blush. She then playfully tells him that if she adopts him, maybe he'd listen to his mother and do as he's told for once.

Chapter 21

• After Naruto, Hinata, Sasuke, and Sakura finish watching a romantic movie, Sakura thanks her boyfriend for sitting through it, knowing it's not his kind of movie, and kisses him on the cheek, making Sasuke blush and smile.
• After Hinata giggles over the fact that Naruto is planning to go the library, her boyfriend playfully pulls her closer to him in response and tells her he loves her so much, to which she naturally responds by saying she loves him too.
• Even after Tsunade told him it would be too dangerous, Naruto still decides to learn how to use a jutsu that would allow him to regain his memories. Why? Because he completely forgot about Sai and he wants to remember his friend.

Chapter 22

• Konohamaru expressing his happiness over being with Hanabi (who has become his girlfriend following the Chunin Exams) to Naruto.
• As Naruto can't stop thinking about how upset Hinata gets when something comes up between them and Hiashi, he decides to have a chat with her father for Hinata's sake.
• As it turns out, Hiashi initially wasn't at all in favor of forcing Hinata to break up with Naruto, as he did not see the latter as a threat to the Hyuga clan's reputation and was even arguing in his defense, but he was forced by the rest of the clan to agree with this solution.

Chapter 23

• Naruto being outraged over the prospect of the Hyuga clan severing all ties with Hinata if he refuses to fight Hiashi, saying that she's too good and too kind to be treated like some sort of disposable object.
• Hotaru mentions to Iruka that, because of what Ino said earlier on, she keeps thinking that he'll propose to her. Iruka suddenly gets nervous when she says that. He then asks her what would she say if he did propose to her, which is followed by him proposing for real. Much to his surprise, Hotaru says yes and they hug each other.

Chapter 24

• Tenten and Neji kissing each other while they're alone... until Kakashi appears nearby.
• Naruto is embarassed to learn that Hinata and Sakura have read his Icha Icha novel. However, they both praise his novel for how well-written it was.
  • He mentions that Jiraiya had never read his novel prior to his death and Naruto thought he wouldn't like it. Sakura tells him she thinks he would have been proud.
• Naruto is hiding something behind his back. He finally admits it's a gift for Hinata to apologize for his mood the previous day, that he was planning on surprising her with it, and that maybe they could go out on a date. She tells him he didn't have to do this, but he replies that he really wanted to while blushing, making her smile and blush heavily.

Vol. 4: Chapters 25- 32

Chapter 26

• Upon realizing that Naruto defeated him, Hiashi smirks and thinks about how Minato should be proud that the latter's son has become a strong ninja.
  • Naruto smiling upon hearing the crowd cheering for his victory.
  • When he notices the presence of Hinata and Hanabi next to him, Hiashi calls them his "beautiful daughters".
  • Hiashi tells Hinata she does not have to be with him while he's injured:
    Hinata: But Father you're...
    Hiashi: [smiling] Hinata, I'm happy that you are worried about me. But Naruto is hurt too, and he fought me so he could be with you. I think it would be a nice idea if you were with him. And tell him... he has won the honour of the Hyuga clan. I just hope he doesn't demand something too... outrageous.
    Hinata: [smiling, blushing, shedding Tears of Joy, and giggling] You never know. And... thank you.
  • Soon after, Hinata runs up to Naruto and gives him a big hug. It doesn't take long before they kiss as well, celebrating the fact that they're completely free to continue their relationship.

Chapter 27

• Upon seeing Naruto awake in his hospital room, Hinata immediately hugs him in relief. Naruto then asks her to tell him that she loves him, as he needs to hear it, and to just hold him while he's sobbing. Hinata, having no idea that he just had a nightmare where he remembered more of the things that happened to him at the Nation of Steel, does both of these things, trying her best to comfort him.
• After Naruto told Tsunade what he saw in his nightmare, she tells him to not let those deaths burden him:
  Tsunade: You have a good heart. You shouldn't blame yourself.
  • After Tsunade leaves, the couple has this conversation:
    Naruto: H... Hinata? Could you... say it again?
    Hinata: I'll say it as many times as you want. I love you.
    [They hug each other.]
    Naruto: I'm sorry for asking again. I just need to hear it, and have you hold me.
    Hinata: It's OK, Naruto. I'm here for you. No matter what.
    Naruto: I know. And knowing it helps me. It makes me feel... happy.
    [They move their lips closer to each other.]
    Naruto: But there is something else I want too.
    Hinata: I know. A kiss.
    [They do just that.]
  • This is followed by Naruto crying. Hinata tells him to lie down and rest while she remains by his side.
• After seeing Matsuri with injuries and with her arm in a sling following the explosion of the communications tower in Suna, Gaara shows some concern towards her by asking her if she's alright. After she explains the situation regarding the explosion, he tells her to go and see a medical ninja, insisting upon it. Matsuri smiles and blushes over Gaara worrying about her, and thanks him for that.

Chapter 28

• Hinata is preparing some lunch when Naruto arrives and put his arms around her waist:
  Hinata: Oh?! Naruto?! You're awake. I'm just making some lunch. Did... Did you want something too?
  Naruto: [kissing the back of her head] I... I'm not hungry. I woke up and... you weren't there... I missed you.
  Hinata: [blushing] Oh! Well you seem a lot better today.
• While walking around, Naruto and Hinata come across Kiba and Mina. The latter kisses Naruto on his cheek, thanking him for saving her life. This is followed by Kiba expressing how grateful he is for what Naruto did.
• Naruto and Hinata are eating some ice cream on a seat. Naruto is then reminded "...of a really good memory. A happy one." He reminds her of when they ended on some seat (which may or may not be the same one they're currently sitting on) during their first date, when Hinata didn't want to go home and he was all down because things hadn't gone the way he wanted to:
  Naruto: I scooted over a little... and then you did. We got closer and closer. And I went to ask you if I could k...
  [She interrupts him with a kiss once again.]
  Hinata: [smiling and blushing] Yeah. I... I know. I remember how nervous I was. Until we... we kissed.
  Naruto: [smiling] It felt right... didn't it? I was nervous too. But I'm so glad it ended well. And that I got you.
  Hinata: [resting her head against his] It's so nice to hear you talking about something nice, and smiling a little more. Mmmm. I just know you'll be back to your old self in no time.
  Naruto: Yeah. I know I've been down a lot. But... I'm trying to cheer up. And... with you being there for me... I'm sure I'll be fine.
  Hinata: That's so sweet. ... I love you, Naruto.
  Naruto: I love you too, Hinata. More... More than anything.
• Neji put his hand on Tenten's shoulder while they're walking, making her blush. He asks if she's OK with him doing that, and she replies it's OK and that he doesn't have to keep asking. This is followed by Tenten asking Neji if he's still up for coming over so she can cook them a romantic dinner once they return to Konoha, to which he replies with "of course".
• Hinata brings up the favor that the Hyuga clan owes to Naruto. He looks sad as he doesn't want to think about it. Blaming herself for making him sad again, she apologizes and hugs him, which is followed by Naruto saying it's not her fault. Hinata then whishes she could do something more for him:
  Naruto: Hinata... You are doing something. Just being here for me when I need you makes me feel better.
  Hinata: [blushing] Really? Is that all you need? Is me to be here?
  Naruto: Yeah. You're all I need. I guess you are my medicine.
  Hinata: [smiling and resting her head against his shoulder] Oh Naruto. That's really silly... but sweet.
  Naruto: It's true though. I feel happier when you hold me.
  Hinata: Then I'll have to hold you until you get better.
  Naruto: I may hold you to that, Hinata.
  Hinata: [giggling before grabbing his hand and pulling it] Hey come on. Why don't we go see a movie. We can hug each other. And... sit in the back row.
  Naruto: Why would we want to sit in the back r... Oh!
  [He blushes and smiles at what he just realized.]

Chapter 29

• Naruto kisses Hinata on the couch. She then asks why he kissed her, to which he replies:
  Naruto: Just for being a wonderful girlfriend, and for making me ramen for breakfast.
  Hinata: Awww! That's sweet of you.

Chapter 31

• Right after Yori and Sadako threw Japanese insults at each other, Sadako faints from the fight she just had and Yori shows some concerns towards her while catching her in his arms. Naruto tells Yori that maybe the latter should take care of her until she's well again. Yori is reluctant at first, but it doesn't take long before he agrees with Naruto. He even tells the latter how to find Rokuro.
• After learning from Rokuro that Hotaru befriended and manipulated Naruto when he was younger in order to extract the chakra of the nine-tails fox from him, Ino tells Naruto that her aunt did a lot of bad things when she was younger that she now regrets as a different person and that he should at least speak to her, especially given she's marrying Iruka and how important the latter is to Naruto.

Chapter 32

• It begins at the hospital, with Hinata lying on a bed and Naruto sitting on a nearby chair. He comments with a chuckle that it's usually the other way around before adding that he's glad she's feeling better now. Naruto does so while petting her head, with Hinata blushing.
• While standing next to some vending machines, Naruto meets Tsunade. The latter asks him if he has any answer about something she asked him a while ago. As it turns out, Tsunade asked Naruto if he would like to be adopted by her, thus becoming her son. After giving it some thoughts, his answer is yes, with the two of them hugging each other afterwards:
  Tsunade: Thank you Naruto. I will try to be a good... mother.
  Naruto: And thank you for... wanting me. I'll try to be a good s... son.
• Team 10 are walking around only for Temari to appear and call out Shikamaru, blushing at him. Ino comments that she's acting pretty weird, only to notice Shikamaru blushing as well. This is followed by Shikamaru and Temari walking towards each other and kissing, much to Ino and Choji's confusion. In the middle of their kiss, they express how glad they are to see each other again.
• At the BBQ restaurant, Ino has fun at the expense of Shikamaru and Temari by asking the former "Don't you wanna get smoochy again?" Eventually, he has enough and decides to kiss Temari, telling her he'd rather be doing this anyway. While they're kissing, Ino is smiling tenderly at them (before thinking to herself that she seriously needs a boyfriend).
• Naruto meets Hotaru, with the latter being deeply sorry for what she did to him when he was younger. He then explains to her all the pain he went through because of that before saying that he decided to put his past all behind him when he became a ninja. Ultimately, while what she did still hurts him, Naruto decides to forgive her. Hotaru is so happy that she hugs him.

Vol. 5: Chapters 33- 40

Chapter 33

• Ichiro and Takara are on duty in Konoha when they have the following conversation:
  Ichiro: Oh come on Takara, just for a little while.
  Takara: Not while we're on duty.
  Ichiro: We're hardly on duty here. We're just waiting for the teams to arrive.
  Takara: Well... Maybe just for a minute.
  [Smiling, he puts his arm around her shoulders and she blushes.]
  Ichiro: This isn't bad, is it? You don't have to be so serious all the time.
  Takara: Well... since we're not being serious, how about a kiss?
  [They do just that.]
• When Team 8 meets up with Team 7, the first thing Hinata does is give yet another big hug to Naruto.
  • Kurenai asks Kakashi how is Naruto, given what he's been through lately. Kakashi replies that Naruto seems fine, but he worries that the latter is putting on a brave face and keeping his pain locked away. Kurenai then says that Naruto is a strong man and she thinks that having Hinata by his side helps him a lot. She says that in a panel where Hinata is still hugging Naruto and blushing, with the two of them smiling.
• Naruto is thinking about what favor he will ask of the Hyuga clan and has two ideas: either ask for Hinata's hand or ask them to stop using the Caged Bird Seal. After taking into account all the pros and cons, he decides to go with the second option, thus allowing him to fulfill the promise he did to Neji during their first Chunin Exams.

Chapter 34

• Naruto and Hinata realize that the whole area around them is covered with explosive tags. Hinata suggests she can guide the two of them with the Byakugan:
  Naruto: That would mean you would have to take point! Are you sure you want to? I mean... I don't want you to get hurt by going first y'know.
  Hinata: [smiling] Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Besides, I would still probably end up going first anyway when the others arrive. At least going now means we can plot a path through for them by marking a route out. And we get to scout out the camp.
  Naruto: [smiling] You got a point there Hinata. Smart and beautiful. So then... take the lead.
  Hinata: [thinking and blushing while being chibified] Oh Naruto! He's so cute when he smiles and I can't help but blush when he compliments me. Oooohhh! And on top of everything, I get another chance to impress him.

Chapter 35

• Naruto tells Hinata what one of the guys he captured in Chapter 33 said to him:
  Naruto: That guy called me a monster for what he saw in the base. For what I did. And I can't help but think...
  Hinata: [turns around to face him] I know what you're going to say and don't think that. You are not a monster, Naruto. You are the kindest person I know. Just think... Monsters don't mourn the deaths they cause.
  Naruto: [pulls her closer to him while smiling] Thank you, Hinata. I don't know why... but hearing you say that makes me feel better.

Chapter 40

• When Shikamaru appears, Temari immediately hugs him and expresses how glad she is to see him. Shikamaru is taken aback, but says he's glad to see her too while blushing and smiling at her.
• While at the hospital, Konohamaru tries to reassure Hanabi by saying he's sure Hinata will be fine given how strong she is and the fact that both Tsunade and Sakura are there to help her.
  • Hanabi says that her sister hasn't been badly injured since her first Chunin Exams. Hiashi reminds her that Hinata was able to pull through quite well. He then says he is also concerned, but that he has faith she'll be OK given that "she has shown more and more of the Hyuga resolve."

Vol. 6: Chapters 41- 48

Chapter 41

• Sakura gets angry upon seeing that Naruto managed to sneak off from his hospital room again. However, she calms down when she sees him wanting to visit Hinata in her hospital room.
  • Hinata reminds Naruto he needs to heal and thus should remain in his room. He says he knows that, but that he also missed her and wanted to see how she was:
    Hinata: [smiling] Awww... Th-That's sweet, Naruto. I m-missed you too. I guess... if I could get out of bed, I would be visiting you too.
• Sakura decides to make a deal with Naruto: She'll bring him ramen for lunch if he promises to stop sneaking out from his room. Naruto is drooling when he agrees, while she smiles in response.
• Sasuke asks Sakura if she has given any thought to something he asked her a while ago, which was to move in with him. Sakura is hesitant as she thinks he asked her as part of his rivalry with Naruto, given that he asked her "practically as soon as Hinata moved in with Naruto" and that it felt like he had to do the same thing "just to stay in the game":
  Sasuke: Sakura... I admit. They gave me the idea. They looked happy together, I just want that for us. But I want it because I want it, not because of any other reason.
  Sakura: I want to be with you too. I just wish I didn't feel the way I do.
  Sasuke: Listen... You trust me right? Then believe me when I say that I want you to live with me because I... I love you. And I want to be with you. Nothing more.
  [They hug each other.]
  Sakura: Oh I love you too, Sasuke. I'm sorry for being a pain.
  Sasuke: It's OK. So... Does this mean you will?
  Sakura: I... I think I will.
  [They kiss.]
• Hinata visits Naruto in his room by using a wheelchair. He tells her he's having some second thoughts about the Caged Bird Seal, as he thinks forcing the Hyuga clan to stop using it might cause trouble to his relationship with Hinata. She reassures him by saying he should do it because it's the right thing to do, and that he shouldn't worry about making the clan hate him as she's sure most of the clan will love him for releasing them from that seal. Smiling, he thanks her for listening and making him feel better.
  • Hinata thanks Naruto for being a good influence on her, as she became more confident and a lot more stronger ever since they got together.
  • Before she goes back to her room, Hinata asks Naruto if she can get a goodnight kiss:
    Naruto: Oh... Now I see why you really came over. Hee-hee.
    Hinata: [blushing and smiling] W-Well... Err... N-No... Not at f-first. I just... Well... M-Maybe it was. Tee-hee.
    Naruto: Ha-ha. Hinata... You only have to ask.
    [They kiss.]

Chapter 42

• Naruto's request of getting rid of the Caged Bird Seal is granted, allowing the entire branch family to no longer be forced to have it.
  • As Naruto is leaving the Hyuga residence, Neji catches up to him, expressing that he can't thank Naruto enough for what he did to the branch family and that they will all prove to him that it was the right thing to do.
  • Naruto then says he has to leave as he promised Hinata he would tell her everything as soon as he was finished. Neji comments that he always keep his promises, a nice nod to what Naruto promised to him during their first Chunin Exams.
• After getting his seal removed, Neji goes to see Tenten and kisses her, surprising her by how unusually bold he is being. She then notices much to her shock that his seal is gone, which is followed by him explaining what Naruto did. Tenten comments that she's really happy for him and that she's never seen him smile so much:
  Neji: I am happy, Tenten. And I was thinking... Instead of just going to see a movie, I... I want to take you out for a nice dinner.
  Tenten: [blushing and smiling] Oh? A nice dinner?! So... Do I have to wear something nice?
  Neji: It doesn't matter. You're beautiful no matter what you wear.
  Tenten: Really? Wow... You're being really complimentary today. If I didn't know any better... I would think you were trying to seduce me.
  Neji: [blushing] I'm being too over-zealous... I will try to calm myself.
  Tenten: No... I think I like you like this. So... Try to seduce me a bit more
  [They kiss and Neji slams the door to her apartment behind him to do you-know-what.]

Chapter 43

• In general, this chapter and the other chapters making up this vacation arc are heartwarming, as they focus on Naruto and his True Companions chilling out and having fun together at this resort village, on some much-needed vacation after all the dramatic situations they've been through.
• Ino admits to Tenten that she's kinda jealous of the latter and all the other girls as they all have boyfriends while she's still single. Tenten tries to reassure Ino by saying she's sure the latter will find someone.
• Naruto and several of his friends go to some cafe. Naruto then mentions that one booth behind Temari is very likely the same one that he and Jiraiya sat on a few years ago. Both Kiba and Hinata tell him they could go somewhere else if he's too uncomfortable to be at a place that reminds him of his sensei given how much he misses him, but Naruto says it's OK as he knew he would remember stuff about Jiraiya when they came at this cafe.
• During the flashback about Shikamaru and Temari having dinner with the former's parents, Shikamaru opened the door and was amazed to see Temari wearing a dress. She was embarrassed upon realizing she was the only one to be overdressed. Temari then asked her boyfriend what did he think of her look:
  Shikamaru: [blushing] Well I... Err... I... think you... look great. I wouldn't worry about dressing up though. It's a nice distrac... I mean... Err... Nevermind.

Chapter 44

• Ino was the subject of a bet by some guy named Kobiru, who betted he could go on a date with her and told his friends she was so desperate to find love. Upon learning about it, she gets angry and punches the guy hard enough to send him through the wall. Some of her friends arrive and Ino tearfully explains what happened. Choji tries to calm her down and she ends up crying on his chest. Choji and their friends then try to make her feel better after what just happened.
  • During this vacation, Ino is sharing a room with Sakura and Hinata. The next morning, Naruto, Sasuke, and Choji all come over to the three girls' room to see if Ino is alright. She keeps claiming she's alright, but Sakura (not fully buying it) tells her they're all here for her if she needs to talk:
    Ino: Yeah... I know. Thanks.
  • Before they leave, Ino tells Choji to wait up and bend down for a second. She then kisses him on his cheek, making him blush in surprise:
    Choji: [blushing] Huh?! Err... I-Ino?! Wh-What are you...?! What's that for?
    Ino: It's just a thank you for being such a good friend last night. And for being there when I needed one.
    Choji: [smiling and rubbing the back of his head] Oh... That's OK, Ino. I mean what are friends for?
    Ino: But still... Thanks. [crosses her right arm with his left arm] So... Care to escort your friend to breakfast?
    Choji: Now you're talking.

Chapter 45

• Naruto encouraged Yoshiko to tell her feelings to some guy she was in love with despite the fact the guy already had a girlfriend. Yoshiko was hesitant as she didn't want to make things awkward, but Naruto, speaking from personal experience given how Sakura was aware of his feelings and was still friends with him, reassured her that it might not be such a bad thing to do.

Chapter 46

• Upon realizing that Naruto is back at the hot spring, Yoshiko runs up to him and gives him a big hug, happy to see her friend again after three years.
  • Sakura casually mentions that all it took for Naruto and Hinata to be together was to fall off a cliff. Yoshiko is confused, leading Naruto to briefly explain:
    Naruto: [grinning and blushing at Hinata] Actually, Hinata fell... I jumped. And I would do it again. Ha-ha.
    Hinata: [smiling and blushing at him] Aww... That's sweet. Ha-ha.
• Naruto tells Yoshiko the whole story on how he fell in love with Hinata. Yoshiko then compliments them by saying they make a cute couple:
  Naruto: [smiling and blushing while Hinata, also smiling and blushing, is resting in his arms] Yeah, people say we fell twice, once off a cliff, the next into each other's arms. Ha-ha.
  • Yoshiko tells to Naruto and Hinata the story of what happened between her and the guy she was in love with, whose name is Takuma. At first, they remained friends after she told him how she felt about him. Later on, Takuma was no longer with his girlfriend, came to see Yoshiko, and eventually asked her if she was still in love with him. Surprised by that question, she was a little hesitant before admitting she still had feelings for him. He then said "Good." before hugging and kissing her, and they have remained together since then.
  • Takuma arrives in the room, which is when Naruto and Hinata learn that Yoshiko and Takuma have been engaged since the previous week.
• Hinata tells her girl friends that she is worried that Naruto might be in love with Yoshiko. Sakura tells Hinata to simply talk to him given that she always tells him to talk to her if he has a problem. Hinata then thanks the girls for listening to her.
• After spending some time thinking that Naruto might be in love with Yoshiko, Hinata finds his boyfriend in their room, the latter preparing a supper so they can spend some time alone in a romantic way:
  Hinata: [smiling and blushing] Oh Naruto. It's wonderful.
  Naruto: [smiling and blushing] Hinata, tonight I wanna make you feel special. A thank you for putting up with me. Especially since... the memory thing.
  Hinata: Naruto... You always make me feel special and happy.
  [They passionately kiss.]
  • Later, Hinata tells Naruto that the latter rarely does romantic stuff for her, and she doesn't mind that, but that it also feels nice to be pampered like this once in a while:
    Naruto: Well, Hinata, I know I'm not the best at this kind of stuff. But I'll try... for you.
    Hinata: Oh... That's OK, Naruto. You don't have to.
    Naruto: [smiling at her while turning her face towards him, making her blush] Hinata... I'm serious. I want to make you happy, like you've made me happy.
    Hinata: [putting her drink down] N-Naruto! Y-You always make me happy!
    Naruto: Even so... If there's anything you want... Just ask. I'll do anything.
    Hinata: [coming far closer to him] R-Really? Anything?
    Naruto: Anything you want.
    Hinata: Anything at all? No matter what it is?
    Naruto: You just have to ask.
    Hinata: W-Well I.. U-Umm... I want you
    Naruto: Well... I'm right here.
    Hinata: [starts removing her outfit] N-No... Naruto. I... I mean I want us to... Well... Y-You know...
    [They proceed to do a make-out session.]
  • During that make-out session, Hinata has Tears of Joy while telling Naruto that he makes her so happy.
  • Before they have sex and after Naruto finds some condom, he's shocked to see Hinata being so forward by acting all erotic, while she hopes he doesn't think she's a pervert because of her behavior. They then continue where they left off, telling "I love you" to each other, all while a ring box can be seen in Naruto's backpack...

Chapter 47

• Worried about Ino, Choji decides to go talk to her in her room. While talking with him, Ino cries over what happened with that jerk the other night and the fact she's single while so many of her friends are so happy with people they love. Choji tries to reassure her by saying he's single too, but he also has friends and yet he's not sad. He says he's there for her if she needs to cry and that she's great. Ino calls him a good friend in response, only for Choji to add that she's beautiful too. She blushes and is confused over what he just said. Choji doesn't really know what to say to that and ultimately decides to kiss her, much to her shock.
• Hinata finds Naruto at a ramen restaurant, where he was having a discussion with Yoshiko and Takuma. She asks him what were they talking about that was so interesting it made him lose track of time. Naruto replies it was the best subject ever:
  Yoshiko: Yeah, he's been telling us all about you, Hinata.
• At the end, everyone's dancing with their lovers, except Choji who is alone and sad. He hears someone asking him if he wants to dance with her. He turns around and is surprised to see Ino being the one asking him that question, all while wearing a pretty dress. After she says that he owes her a dance, Choji apologizes for kissing her. Ino says it's OK, that she was surprised by it, and that, while she won't say she didn't like the kiss, she doesn't know what to think or say. She then asks him to give her time to sort out her feelings. He agrees and they proceed to dance.

Chapter 48

• Sasuke and Sakura are waiting for Naruto and Kakashi. Sasuke has cornered Sakura against a tree and is very close to her when this happens:
  Sakura: [blushing and smiling] You know... We're supposed to be waiting for Naruto and Kakashi to get back.
  Sasuke: [smiling] I know. But why can't we have some fun? I'm far more interested in you right now.
  Sakura: Really? How interested?
  Sasuke: Very...
  Sakura: [giggle]
  [They kiss, which is followed by him pulling his arms around her.]
  Sakura: Sasuke, that's my shirt. [giggle]
• Mina sees herself as a failure for being nothing like her parents and for disappointing them by becoming a medic instead of focusing on fighting. Hinata then tells her she's not a failure and makes the following speech, which manages to cheer Mina up:
  Hinata: You can only ever do your hardest. I know what it's like to not fall into the high standards set by a parent. To feel like you are a failure in everything you do just because you can't please those you care the most for. It took me a long time to get the courage, to get the confidence to stand on my own and be happy. Trust me... You can only ever Be Yourself.

Vol. 7: Chapters 49- 56

Chapter 49

• Hinata is worried over the fact that Naruto has agreed to the ANBU's request to join them, given how dangerous ANBU missions are. Her boyfriend promises he'll make it up to her somehow, to which she says he can make a start by promising her he will keep himself safe and come back to her no matter what happens. Naruto smiles at her and says he was gonna promise her that anyway.
  • After Hinata says that she will miss Naruto during his ANBU training, he decides to have lunch with her anywhere she wants, even some place other than Ichiraku for once. She's very pleased when he agrees to go to some teahouse with her.
• After getting into an argument with her parents, Mina is thrown out of their house. She comes to Kiba's house and explains her situation while carrying a suitcase. Kiba suggests that she stays at his house, but she replies that she doesn't want to bother him. Mina then says that she'll be staying at some hotel for a day or two, until she can get some proper camping equipment. Kiba's sister Hana has heard what Mina said and will have none of it, saying that she will stay at their house and there's no arguing about it. The medical-nin says "I... I guess for tonight I cou...", only to be interrupted by Hana making it clear she can stay for far longer than one night. Mina eventually accepts their offer before Kiba decides to take care of her suitcase. She says she can make supper for the Inuzuka so she won't be a burden, but Kiba tells her she doesn't have to and should instead make herself at home and relax. She smiles and blushes while agreeing to this.

Chapter 50

• After returning to her house, Hinata notices Naruto's coat on the coat rack, indicating that he came back from his training. She's so excited that she leaves her own coat on the floor without even bothering to put it on the rack and immediately tries to find him in their house, all while shouting his name. Hinata finds him asleep on his bed and smiles tenderly at him. She then climbs on the bed and lies against his body. Naruto briefly wakes up and the first thing he does is put his arm around his girlfriend after noticing her presence.
• Kiba returns to his house after another mission. Much to his surprise, he finds Hana adding the Inuzuka fangs on Mina's face. Mina explains to her boyfriend that his mother and Hana said she was like a member of the family and asks him what does he think. Kiba replies that she always looks fine to him, but she does look hot with those markings on her, making her blush. After Hana leaves, the two lovebirds express that they missed each other before kissing.

Chapter 51

• Hinata is worried that Naruto wants to break up with her. Sakura tries to reassure her by saying there's no way he would do such a thing after everything he's done just to be with her.
• With Hinata worried that Naruto might break up with her, Sakura, Ino, and Mina all decide to help her by going alongside their respective boyfriends to the same restaurant where Hinata is supposed to meet her boyfriend.
• Hinata faints after Naruto yells to their friends that he's trying to propose to her. After she wakes up, their friends decide to leave so the two of them could be alone, thus allowing Naruto to do what he could not do in front of others.
  • Hinata walks up to Naruto and nervously asks him if he really was trying to propose to her. He confirms it and says he was trying to make it special to show how special she is to him. His girlfriend says he could have simply told her that he loves her without doing a flashy proposal and it would have been just as special to her. This is followed by...
    Naruto: [having a slight blush and grinning at her] Well then, in that case it's settled. Hee-hee.
    Hinata: Settled?! W-What are you saying?
    [Naruto stands up from his chair and gets down on one knee.]
    Hinata: [thinking, blushing heavily, and smiling with her eyes closed] OhMyGod, OhMyGod. He's down on one knee. He's gonna propose, he wasn't put off. Don't faint, don't faint, don't faint.
    Naruto: Umm... H-Hyuuga Hinata... [holding the opened ring box] ...will you do me the great honour of marrying me?
    Hinata: [putting her left hand on his right cheek, making him blush] Uzumaki Naruto. I-I would love to marry you.
    Naruto: [standing up and smiling] Are you serious? You know you can't change your mind. Ha-ha.
    Hinata: [giggling] I'm sure.
    [They kiss while embracing each other, with Hinata having the ring on her left ring finger.]
  • Not only does Naruto's proposal to Hinata happen on the 1000th page, but it's the first page to be in color. Since then, it has been a tradition for every thousandth chapter to focus on a romantic moment between Naruto and Hinata (with the 2000th and 3000th pages also getting the color treatment).

Chapter 52

• Hinata wakes up in the morning, lying on top of the sleeping Naruto and the two of them being naked underneath the bed sheets, thus indicating they had sex the previous night to celebrate their engagement. Upon waking up, she blushes and smiles while resting her head on her fiancé's chest. Hinata even has a heart above her head while she's thinking "Mmmm Naruto!"
• According to Hinata, not only have their friends paid for the meal, but they have also thrown them an engagement party where they have invited more people.
  • Naruto is upset that Hinata thought he was going to dump her. After she explains how she came to that conclusion:
    Naruto: I know. I guess I can't blame you. I love you after all.
    Hinata: [blushing and eating while being chibified] Yes you do! *munch*
    Naruto: [also eating while being chibified] I'm such a sucker for you *munch*
  • Naruto learns he has to report in for an ANBU mission. Hinata is upset because she wants to tell the news about their engagement to Hiashi, but she doesn't want to announce it without her fiancé and she has no idea how long Naruto will be gone during that mission. He grabs her hand and tells her it's an exam mission. This means it will likely be not threatening and he will be gone for one day or two at most:
    Hinata: [smiling] I hope so. But we have to do it as soon as you get back.
    Naruto: [smiling] Deal.
• Kakashi meets Hinata at some park. Smiling at her, he tells her that Naruto told him about the engagement and he takes the time to congratulate her for it. He also says he will keep it a secret as Naruto told him Hiashi isn't aware of it yet.

Chapter 54

• Kurenai being impressed by how confident Hinata is during her fight against Touji:
  Kurenai: [thinking] Hinata?! She's like a different person... So battle confident! ... It's completely opposite to her normal self! Is this... really because of Naruto?!

Chapter 55

• After Hinata heard Sakura scream Naruto's name, making her believe that he died, she is relieved to learn that he's still alive later on.

Chapter 56

• Naruto has turned into his four-tailed form and fires a Tailed Beast Ball at a Golem controlled by Touji, forcing everyone to take cover. When the attack is over, Hinata realizes that she's been protected by the fox chakra, indicating that Naruto must be in control.

Vol. 8: Chapters 57- 64

Chapter 57

• When Team 7 and Team 8 return to the village, Naruto praises Hinata over her fight against Touji:
  Naruto: I'm really impressed Hinata. You're really strong.
  Hinata: [blushing slightly] W-Well... I... I... I did have a l-little advantage. I'm not sure I would have done any better than you if you had the Byakugan.
  Naruto: Still Hinata, you were awesome out there.
  Hinata: [blushing further and smiling] N-N-Naruto... Y-Y-You th-thought I w-was awesome... O-Oh... Umm... Errr... Umm...
  • This is followed by Kurenai, Kiba, and Shino all expressing how proud they are of Hinata for what she did:
    Hinata: [blushing, smiling, and rubbing her right eye] Oohh... Guys... You're gonna make me cry. [sniff] But... Thank you for saying. I'm happy you're all proud.
• Tsunade can't help but be worried about Naruto, even though the latter is strong and so is the rescue team she assembled. Shizune tells her that she's becoming more of a mother everyday. Immediately after that, Naruto arrives in the Hokage's Office alongside Hinata, Kakashi, and Kurenai. Tsunade's eyes widen and she smiles upon seeing him safe and sound. Her adopted son explains that they would have come sooner but they stopped for ramen, only to be interrupted when Tsunade hugs him in relief and he hugs her back while reassuring her that any injuries he had are gone.
  • Naruto takes the time to announce to Tsunade that he and Hinata are engaged. He does so while he and his fiancée are hugging each other in a way that shows how ready they are to take the next step.
  • After a comedic scene where the Hokage incorrectly assumes Hinata is pregnant and makes fun of Naruto by asking his fiancée if she's sure she wants the responsibility of looking after him, Tsunade says she's happy for the two of them and congratulates them.
  • In response to Tsunade's question, Hinata says she thinks she'll be fine with this and that she'll be very happy as Naruto's wife, all while blushing and smiling at him:
    Naruto: [blushing and smiling at her] Hee... Thanks Hinata... I'm glad.

Chapter 58

• After returning to their house, Naruto and Hinata spend some time lying together on the couch, enjoying how comfy it is:
  Hinata: [smiling and blushing] Ha-ha... Naruto, that tickles my neck.
  Naruto: But you're so tasty Hinata.
  Hinata: I'm not a bowl of ramen, Naruto. Hee.
  Naruto: [smiling and blushing] Ha-ha, I know, but you're just as lovely and enjoyable.
  [She turns her body around to put her arms around him and he puts his arms around her too.]
  Hinata: Oh... Am I?
  Naruto: Of course you are, Hinata.
  Hinata: Well... I think you're just as enjoyable.
  [They kiss.]
• At the dinner, Konohamaru saying how awesome Hanabi was for knocking some guy out:
  Hanabi: [smiling and blushing] Aww... Konohamaru... That's so sweet of you.
  • Hanabi being excited when hearing that her sister is getting married, to the point of wanting to be a bridesmaid.
  • Naruto learns he should have asked Hiashi's permission to marry Hinata, as it is tradition and a way to show respect to both the family and the head of that family. After the blond ninja humbly asks for his blessing and permission, Hiashi agrees to it. He then puts his hands on Naruto and Hinata's shoulders while saying "Just remember, marriage is a big step, and you're still only nineteen years old.", wanting to make sure they both thought about it properly.

Chapter 59

• Mina's conversation with a man named Hideki Nishimura during her mission, talking about the Mikon family skill that she's afraid to use because it causes a change in state. The old man says his father told him that "anyone can gain power, but only through intelligence can someone use it wisely." He continues by telling Mina that she's intelligent enough to see the flaw in that skill and to know how to use that skill without a downside. The old man believes that she can use it wisely. Mina blushes and thanks him for saying such a nice thing to her.
• Angry after learning that the Fourth Hokage was his father, Naruto confronts Kakashi for keeping it a secret from him. Kakashi makes it clear to Naruto that he believes the latter should have known about it much sooner. He then explains it was done to protect Naruto and the village given that 1. Naruto's parents had many enemies of great power and 2. he is the host of the Nine-Tails Fox, making it too risky to let these information be known by more people than those who already knew. Naruto calms down a bit after hearing that explanation. However, he still feels anger over the way he's been treated during all those years. Smiling, Kakashi comes up with the idea of bringing the blond ninja to the training grounds so he can release that anger and not keep it bottled up.

Chapter 60

• After fighting Kakashi at the training grounds and talking to him about his control of the fox chakra, Naruto is told by his sensei that he should control his anger and accept the change in order to control the chakra. He then smiles while saying he'll just have to try it that way, causing Kakashi to smile and comment that the blond ninja isn't angry anymore after what happened at the hospital.
• Before announcing the big news to him, Tenten reassures Neji (who was worried that the dinner he did for the two of them caused her to be sick) by saying the meal was delicious and it was sweet of him to do it.
  • Neji is shocked to learn that Tenten is pregnant as a result of when they celebrated his removal of the seal. When she asks him if he's okay with her being pregnant, he replies with this:
    Neji: [blushing] Tenten... You know I love you. Having a child will not change that. It will change much for us from now on. I admit... I'm not sure I'm ready for it, but... I will be there for you.
    Tenten: [blushing] I know you will be. Just... take some time to get used to this idea.
    [They hug and smile.]
    Neji: I will. I'm sorry for not being more enthusiastic.
    Tenten: It's OK. I know you will be later. I love you, Neji.
    Neji: I love you too, Tenten. Very much so.
• Given that Naruto now knows about his father, Kakashi decides to talk to him about his mother. He mentions that, just like Naruto, she liked ramen and used to play pranks, much to his student's surprise.
  • Naruto looks sad and says he wishes he could have gotten to know them. Kakashi then puts his hand on his shoulder and tells him:
    Kakashi: Trust me... Naruto, anytime you want to know what they were like... just look at yourself, and you'll know.
    Naruto: [smiling] Really? You know... That sounds kind of a cheesy thing to say, Sensei... but... well... it kinda makes me feel better.
    Kakashi: [smiling] Well, I'm glad you do. But it is true, Naruto, I can see your parents in you. You are your parents.

Chapter 61

• At some café alongside Sakura, Sasuke, and Kiba, Hinata is worried over Naruto after the latter angrily left the hospital. After Sasuke makes everyone notices that Naruto is entering the café, Hinata immediately runs up to her fiancé and gives him a big hug in relief, doing it so fast that Sakura doesn't realize Hinata has already left her seat until the former turns her head towards said seat.
  • Hinata mentions to Naruto that she's been promoted to jounin. He praises her for that, saying she really deserves it and that she's really strong before suggesting they should go out and celebrate.
• At their house, Naruto explains to Hinata that he learned the Fourth Hokage was his father. He says he took it bad because of the way he was treated when he was younger even though he was the son of a Hokage. Hinata tries to make him feel better by saying that most people probably were unaware of his lineage given that his last name is Uzumaki instead of Namikaze. She then adds that not only did this happen a long time ago, but he managed to get a lot of respect by himself, not because of his father. In her mind, this is much more satisfying. This makes Naruto blush before agreeing with her.
  • This is immediately followed by Hinata asking Naruto to stay with her in her room not just for this night, but for every night from here on out. This greatly surprises Naruto before she says what follows:
    Hinata: [blushing and smiling] I know what you're going to say, you promised my father and Tsunade-sama. I know we still do sometimes sleep in the same bed, but... I want to do that a lot more. I... I like it when we lay down together. I like sleeping in your arms. I mean... All of your clothes are in here anyway. Besides, we're in a different situation now, we are engaged after all. It wouldn't be so bad if we shared a bed.
    Naruto: [blushing and smiling] Yeah, I guess you're right. I did make the promise in a different situation. OK then... I'll... sleep in here from now on.
    Hinata: [going underneath the bed sheets] So then... Now that that's all settled, let's get to bed so we can get all comfy. Coming Naruto?
    Naruto: [thinking and blushing while having blank white eyes and looking chibified] So nice! [speaking and going back to his normal appearance while grinning and still blushing] Y-Yes... I'm just coming.
    [He goes underneath the bed sheets and lies down. She rests her head against his chest, the two of them having rather pleased expressions.]
    Hinata: Mmmm... So comfy. My Naruto.

Vol. 9: Chapters 65- 72

Chapter 66

• In a flashback set during the canonical Time Skip, we have Mina's sensei and teammates trying to put her at ease over having to fight her teammate Taiki during the Chunin Exams.
  • Sakura, Ino, and Hinata all attended the Chunin Exams to support Mina. Ino questioned Sakura why they were doing this even though they only just met Mina. The pink-haired kunoichi replied that just because they only just met Mina didn't mean she wasn't their friend. The fact that they spent a lot of time studying together and that they got along well was enough for Sakura to consider her a friend.

Chapter 67

• Shikamaru returns to his appartment, with Temari telling him she was worried for him after hearing the explosion. He explains that he's OK and that he and Naruto had to deal with some thieves. Shikamaru apologizes for making her worried, but Temari asks him if it was a big fight given that he sounds tired. She also notices that he's looking down, making her ask him if something happened to Naruto and if the latter is OK. Shikamaru replies that his friend is fine before adding that he's tired and should get some sleep. However, Temari can sense he's all tense and stressed, leading her to ask him what's wrong while putting her arms around him before kissing his shoulder. Shikamaru replies that the thieves brought up some painful memories and that he would much rather forget those memories and relax instead. With their faces so close to each other, Temari tells him that maybe she could help him forget and... relax. This makes Shikamaru blush as he says it could work. Although this is followed by her making it clear she won't do it unless he has some protection, with his shocked face indicating he probably has none.
• Naruto returns to his house, reuniting with Hinata. The latter notices that her fiancé's right sleeve is all sown up. She pushes the sleeve to reveal bandages on his arm, confirming her suspicion that he used the Katto-Ken again. Expecting an angry reaction from her, Naruto is surprised when she gives him a hug instead:
  Naruto: H-Hinata?! A hug? I thought you were mad?
  Hinata: [blushing and looking worried] I just don't like it when you use that technique. You get hurt so much. Even for you it takes a while to heal fully. And in the meantime... your arms will be sensitive and weak. I won't even get a proper hug from you.
  Naruto: Oh... So not getting a hug is what's wrong? ... Hinata, it's not that bad, really.
  Hinata: But still, it concerns me that you will live with the pain.
  Naruto: The pain is not that bad, my arms feel more numb than anything else. Maybe a little tingly.
  Hinata: I can't help but worry about you Naruto. I love you.
  Naruto: [blushing and smiling] Hinata... I love you too. You know that.
  Hinata: I know. ... Come on... It's late, you must be exhausted. Let's go to bed.
  Naruto: That... sounds great.
  [They kiss while having their arms around each other.]
• The next day, Naruto and Hinata are walking around Konoha, with the former saying he will go to the hospital before seeing her for lunch at Ichiraku. They then have this conversation that shows how devoted Hinata is to her fiancé:
  Hinata: [blushing and looking worried while having her arms around his left arm] But are you sure you don't want me to come with you? F-For moral support? I really don't mind you know.
  Naruto: [blushing and smiling] I know. But you said you had shopping plans.
  Hinata: But I can put that off until later. I want to be there for you.
  Naruto: But you've been wanting to do some shopping for a while now. What about the new clothes you want?
  Hinata: B-But... Wh-What if you need me? For support?
  Naruto: Then I'll come find you, and you can help me then. Listen... Don't worry about me Hinata. Just have fun shopping today... OK?
  Hinata: [smiling] OK... I'll see you later then Naruto.
  [She walks away and they wave at each other.]
  Naruto: SEEYA LATER.
  Hinata: Yes... I'll see you at Ichiraku's for lunch.
  Naruto: [sighing while smiling] What did I do to get lucky enough to have Hinata? [becoming chibified and stroking his chin while nodding] Perhaps it was the fact I've saved the village on numerous occasions. Yep... That must be it... A reward for all my good deeds.
• Neji goes to Tenten's appartment in order to talk to her about when he said they should get married after learning that she's pregnant:
  Tenten: [blushing and looking concerned] And? What have you come to?
  Neji: [looking regretful] I know how I asked you was... a surprise, and it was wrong of me to rush in without fully considering my reasons. To be honest... marrying you has never been on my mind. I was content to just be with you, but... I realised I... I cannot be without you.
  Tenten: [looking away] You... You can't be without me? Neji... I want to believe you... but... how do I know?
  Neji: Tenten... Please, you have to believe what I say. You have to trust what I say to you is the honest truth. [grabbing her hand] I know I am a proud person, and... I... I think of my honour, and act with only upholding that image, letting it guide me quickly, without thinking about what I want. But I'm not here to do that. I'm following my heart this time.
  [He's blushing while tears are coming out of Tenten's eyes.]
  Neji: And my heart tells me that I need you, that you are the one I want to be with. I don't care if we get married, with or without a child, all I want is to have you by my side, for me to be beside you. I need you in my life, Tenten... I love you. I love you more than anything, and I will do anything to assure that I never leave your side.
  Tenten: Oh... N-Neji!
  [She kisses him, surprising him. He puts his arms around her while kissing her back. They then break the kiss and rest their head on each other's shoulder while being in each other's arms.]
  Tenten: I... I love you too, Neji.
  Neji: Tenten... I hope you can forgive my actions.

Chapter 68

• After noticing Shizune blanking out, Tsunade tells her to take the rest of the day off. Shizune is shocked and says she's fine to work, but her boss insists not only because she's a hard worker who doesn't take time off as it is, but also because Tsunade is gonna need Shizune more and needs her to be focused. The Hokage tells her to do it for her and Shizune reluctantly agrees to take a day off.
• Hinata apologizes to Naruto for being a Clingy Jealous Girl after what happened with Nanami, leading to this conversation:
  Naruto: [smiling] You have nothing to be sorry about. Besides, you're cute when you're jealous.
  Hinata: [blushing] Really?! Cute?
  Naruto: Yes. Although there is no need to be. Hinata... You know I love you, right? So you don't have to be jealous of anyone... ever.
  Hinata: I just... can't help it. I spent so long trying to get you, I can't stand to see you with anyone else. Especially if you're in... those kinds of positions. I... just... love you so much.
  Naruto: I love you too. And the ring on your finger is a symbol that I am yours, that no matter what, you and I are one. Just remember that, and when we get married... you should know it to be even more true.
  Hinata: [smiling] You're... mine? Ha-ha.
  Naruto: Always, my dear sweet Hinata.
  Hinata: Aww.

Chapter 69

• Tayuya has a hard time understanding why Mina is willing to help her even though they're supposed to be enemies. Mina explains that, given that Tayuya is in pain, it doesn't matter who she is and the Konoha ninja has to help her. She continues by saying that no one should be left to suffer if it can be prevented and that she can at least try to save her. After Mina says that Tayuya has nothing to lose given that she can't go back without the scroll and get what she needs to live, Tayuya ultimately agrees to let her enemy help her.
• At Ichiraku, Naruto is wearing a new jacket that Hinata has bought for him. He thanks her for it, but she then gives him a new version of one of his old coats. Naruto likes it of course, much to Hinata's pleasure, and he says what follows:
  Naruto: [smiling and slightly blushing at her] This is perfect. Thank you Hinata.
  Hinata: [smiling, blushing, and looking away from him] O-Oh... I'm sure you've had plenty of better things. I bet it's nothing in comparison to say... a free ramen voucher.
  Naruto: [grabbing her left hand] Hey... Hinata... Come here. [grabbing her by the waist and pulling her closer to him] If it's from you, then nothing can compare to how great it is. Not even a voucher for free ramen.
  Hinata: Oh... I see.
  [They passionately kiss.]

Chapter 70

• At the Konoha Hospital, Sakura is finally able to get a break, allowing her to meet Sasuke who was waiting for her for lunch. While they're in each other's arms, she asks him if they can go to somewhere close for lunch, making him guess that she needs to get back sooner than she thought. She confirms it, given that she has to take care of Tsunade's patients:
  Sasuke: I understand, Sakura. But I just don't want you pushing yourself too much. You look tired already.
  Sakura: [smiling and blushing] Sasuke... It's sweet you worry, but at least lunch will be a break. You know... For showing your soft side to me... I think a reward is in order.
  Sasuke: [smiling while their lips are very close to each other] You know... I only show my soft side for these rewards. Heh-heh.
• Gai and Lee congratulating Tenten regarding her being pregnant and engaged to Neji. Gai tells her that not only will she make a fine mother and wife, but her and Neji's child will be brave and strong like his parents... through "the power of youth", of course. He also tells Neji how proud he is of the latter... before crying in an over-the-top manner.

Chapter 71

• Sakura asks Naruto to come with her and Sasuke for a mission that she's been assigned. Naruto is reluctant to come because he's waiting for other things going on that he can't tell her. Sakura asks him if his reluctance has anything to do with her leading the team, given that the last time they've been on a mission where she was the leader was when they were at the Nation of Steel and he almost died (which is something she has been blaming herself for). However, Naruto makes it clear that it has nothing do with that mission and that no one is to blame for what happened back then.
• Hinata is disappointed that Naruto decided to not wear his cloak for the recovery mission. He says he didn't want to get it damaged or dirty on his first day of wearing it. However, he promises to her that he'll wear it on his next mission. She responds by blushing, smiling, and giving him a hug.
  • Sakura smiles at the sight of Hinata hugging Naruto and gets the idea of asking Sasuke if he wants to hug her while they're walking too.
  • Sakura notices that Sasuke is distracted. She convinces him to tell her what's on his mind. He says that it's been almost three years since he came back to Konoha. However, looking back, Sasuke finds it strange he became such a different person after dealing with Itachi. He still had problems after that. However, it all changed one day, but he can't remember why. After Sasuke says that he's probably just thinking into it too much, Sakura grabs his hand and, while blushing and smiling at him, reminds him that he can talk to her if he ever needs to. He smiles back and says "Yeah... I know." They Almost Kiss... only to be interrupted by Naruto telling them to get a room, much to their annoyance.
• After putting on her contact lenses due to her glasses being broken, Mina blushes and hugs Kiba, the latter blushing and hugging her back, while she comments that she can see her "handsome boyfriend at least."

Chapter 72

• Sakura is enraged upon learning that Tayuya was one of the four ninja who helped Sasuke leave Konoha years ago. She tries to attack the red-haired kunoichi, but Sasuke restrains her by grabbing her arm. He tells his girlfriend that it was his decision to leave the village, which led to all the pain she and Naruto went through. Therefore, it's wrong to punish someone else for his mistakes (which is quite a contrast to his attitude in Shippuden). He also tells Sakura he knows not only that she hates what happened years ago, but also that she won't let it stand in the way of what she does best, which is healing people. Even though she's still upset, what he said does calm her down.
• Naruto and Hinata sharing a tender moment while they're settling in the room they were given for the duration of the mission.
• Naruto is concerned after seeing Sasuke looking troubled by something. He worries about his friend possibly leaving Konoha again and talks about it with Hinata:
  Naruto: I mean he did it once, he could easily do it again. I... I... I don't want him to, but... I... I'm...
  Hinata: You're afraid to go through it all over again, aren't you? But Naruto... he has changed, he has so much to stay for this time, a life, a love, so many friends...
  Naruto: Yeah... I... guess you're right about that.
  Hinata: Naruto. He may just have something on his mind, so don't worry, OK?
  Naruto: [putting his right arm around her shoulders] You know... [blushing and smiling at her while she does the same thing] How can I worry about anything when you're with me?
  • The two of them come across Hideki Nishimura, resulting in Naruto immediately removing his arm from Hinata's shoulders. However, two pages later, Hideki reveals that he saw the arm and tells the Uzumaki not to worry about hiding it:
    Hideki: It's good to see some romance.
• At a karaoke bar, Lee hears someone singing "Carry Me Away" by Amy Studt and likes the sound of that voice. Upon seeing the girl who is singing, Lee is speechless and blushing. Not too long afterwards, the girl, named Arekusu, notices the spandex-wearing ninja after her friends point out his presence. Lee then nervously tries to talk to her before presenting himself and kissing her hand. He says he's here with his sensei, to which Arekusu suggests he could bring him along so they can all have fun. After Lee leaves to fetch Gai, she turns her head towards her friends and, while clearly being lovesick, asks them "Wasn't he just the cutest guy you have ever seen?!"

Vol. 10: Chapters 73- 80

Chapter 73

• Naruto convinces Sasuke to talk to him about what's been bothering him. Sasuke says he feels like he doesn't deserve to be happy after what he put everyone through. Naruto tries to tell him that was a long time ago, but Sasuke interrupts him and brings up the fact that he hurt Naruto and especially Sakura when he left Konoha. He mentions when she said she was willing to come with him and that she loved him. Despite imagining a fresh life by staying in the village, he still chose to turn away because of his ambitions and anger, hurting her in the process:
  Naruto: Sasuke! She forgave you that a long time ago. We all did. You've changed from that guy who left.
  Sasuke: I know I've changed, but what right do I have to deserve to be happy with her after I put her through so much?
  Naruto: You have every right! Sakura is in love with you, and you make her happy!
  Sasuke: [having a small smile] Yeah... she does. I still have no idea how she could love someone like me... but I know she does. And I said that she does make me happy.
  Naruto: That's what I was saying.
• At the karaoke bar, Lee accidentally touches Arekusu's hand. He apologizes for it, but she makes it clear she doesn't mind it at all. Lee then put his hand on top of Arekusu's, the two of them smiling and blushing.
  • Gai is about to leave the karaoke bar alongside Lee. However, the former notices Arekusu's disappointment before telling Lee to stay and that she could enjoy the company of a young man like him. Smiling, Lee agrees with his sensei before the latter leaves.

Chapter 74

• Naruto finds Hinata resting against some railing and surprises her by putting his arms around her waist. He asks her what she was thinking:
  Hinata: [looking at her right hand with her ring on it] Oh... Just about the future, that's all. [while Naruto is kissing her on the cheek] I still can't believe I have this ring on my finger.
  Naruto: [smiling and blushing alongside her] Yeah? Well, sometimes I can't believe that I got so lucky enough as to have you as my fiancée. Hee-hee.
  Hinata: [turning her face around to look at him] Lucky huh?! Well, I guess that means we both have luck in love, to be paired with each other.
  Naruto: [looking at her seductively] Well... I guess the next question is... Do I get any luck today? 'cause I really do feel lucky right now.
  Hinata: N-Now now... Naruto, we're on a mission you know.
  Naruto: [his lips being pretty close to hers] What... So I can't even get a kiss from my fiancée?
  Hinata: Oh... Well, I'm sure you can.
  [They kiss.]
• Naruto feels bad for hurting Jiraiya (who was under mind control) during their fight. However, Hinata asks him if he really thinks Jiraiya would have wanted to do what he was doing. She tells her fiancé that, ultimately, he helped his sensei, with Naruto agreeing with her and feeling better as a result.

Chapter 75

• While fighting the bandaged man, Sasuke is surprised to hear Sakura saying his name even though she's too far away for him to be able to hear her.

Chapter 77

• Sasuke is angry at Naruto for purposefully allowing Evil Sasuke and Karin to escape given that they may have the answers to what happened to him three years ago. He's still angry at his friend even after the latter reveals that he sent clones to trail Evil Sasuke and Karin because of bigger things at stake. This is followed by Sakura being able to calm Sasuke down by saying:
  Sakura: I know you're upset, but that doesn't mean you should take it out on someone else. Naruto said he has clones trailing them... If there are bigger things involved, then we must let him do what he must.
  Sasuke: [upset] But... what he... what that other me said... the things I can't remember... the choices I've made in the last three years...
  Sakura: [putting her hand on his shoulder] ...are what have defined who you are. So please.
  Sasuke: I... I'm... I'm sorry, Sakura... Naruto.

Chapter 78

• Choji meets Ino at her house and wants to talk to her, wanting to know why she keeps pushing him away. At first, she's unwilling to say why and he tells her to not be angry for what he possibly could have done. She then tells him that she's not angry and to just hold her in his arms. He does so, the two of them remaining quiet for a moment. Eventually, Ino asks him, among other things, if he's willing to risk their friendship by being closer to her. Choji replies that he doesn't see that a risk, but rather as their friendship while they're growing closer. He tells her that, more than anything, he just wants to be her friend and to be with her. While crying, Ino says she's scared as things like that never last long for her and that the longer they're together, the more she doesn't want it to end. Choji tells her she's not going to lose him. After she says that it always happen:
  Choji: Ino... Those other guys... they didn't see what they had, or who they had within their reach. I've known you for a long time and... I see you for who you are and... it's beautiful. Inside and outside.
  [Ino looks at him in surprise for a moment]
  Ino: [putting her hands on his shoulder] Chouji... Come down here a second.
  [She rises from her feet and they kiss each other while blushing.]

Chapter 79

• Late at night, Naruto goes to the room he's sharing with Hinata and joins her in the bed. Right after he put his arm around her, she smiles and blushes.
• While watching a horror movie, Arekusu and Hanajima hold onto Lee and Shino respectively during a scary scene. Soon after, the two girls are shown smiling while the two boys are shown blushing.
  • After the movie is over, Lee asks Arekusu if he can walk her back home. At first, she's hesitant, but Lee guesses it must be because her place is a mess and tells her he can just walk with her without coming inside her place. She calls him a sweet guy and agrees before holding his hand and blushing.
• Kiba telling Mina how proud he is of her for beating Tayuya, protecting the client's property, and showing a great kindness to her enemy. She tells him that what he's saying is making her blush, to which he replies, while blushing slightly himself, that she gets cuter when she blushes like that and that he likes seeing her blush a little.

Chapter 80

• Naruto tells Hinata that he hasn't told her what he saw in the Namikaze scroll yet because he can't get his head around it or how he feels. He does promise that he'll tell her when he's ready. She then kisses him on the cheek and says "Good.", the two of them slightly blushing.
• Tenten and Neji ask Naruto and Hinata if the latter two could come with them and provide moral support when announcing the big news to Hiashi. Hinata immediately accepts before being reminded by Naruto that he was already planning to do something else. Ultimately, he agrees to come with them for moral support. During a moment where Tenten and Neji are in another room, Hinata looks sad and apologizes to Naruto for not asking him first and not remembering he had something else to do. Smiling, he tells her he's still gonna do it later and to not feel bad about it. This makes her smile before they kiss once again.

Vol. 11: Chapters 81- 88

Chapter 81

• On their way to see Hiashi, Hinata keeps looking at Naruto and blushing. He notices that and asks her why she's doing that. Still blushing, she smiles and says it's nothing, unable to tell him that he looks so handsome with his coat.
  • Hinata faints when Naruto incorrectly guesses that she's thinking about babies. When she wakes up, her fiancé tells her "OK Sleeping Beauty... Time to wake up." Blushing, smiling, and doing her trademark Shy Finger-Twiddling, Hinata asks him "B-But... Doesn't Sleeping Beauty get a kiss from her prince first?" Naturally, Naruto agrees and takes this opportunity to kiss her on multiple places on her body, making her tickle.
  • Upon seeing this romantic moment, Tenten gushes over how cute these two are. This inspires her to plant a big kiss on Neji, much to the latter's surprise.
• At the hospital, Sakura notices Sasuke next to a vending machine and asks him why he's here instead of being back at the apartment:
  Sasuke: I just didn't feel like sitting alone in that place. Too quiet. So I thought I'd wait for you here.
  Sakura: [blushing and smiling] That's sweet of you, Sasuke. But you should have gotten a nurse to come tell me, I had no idea you were here.
  Sasuke: I didn't want to bother you too much.
  Sakura: Well, still, I'm glad you're here.
  [She kisses him.]
• Sasuke tells Sakura that he's worried he might be just a fake version of himself and that Evil Sasuke might be the real deal. She tells him he's not fake, but the man she loves and cares the most for in the world. He asks her how does she know he's not fake:
  Sakura: I just feel it... inside.
  Sasuke: I see... You just know it! [coming closer to her face] Well... I guess that's good enough for me.
  Sakura: [blushing] It is?
  Sasuke: I'm not sure who I am at the moment. But... if you believe I am who I think I am... then... it doesn't seem so bad.
  [They hug each other.]
  Sakura: I'm glad I can make you happy so easily, Sasuke.
• Learning that Hanabi is grounded and thus can't go on a date with Konohamaru for at least two more days, Naruto tells Hiashi it wouldn't be a bad idea to make an exception and let her go for that night. After all, Konohamaru will be going on a mission soon, so she may not be able to see him before he leaves and it would extend her punishment if she had to wait another week before seeing him again. Thus, Hiashi could let her go have her date with her boyfriend and she could then finish her grounding afterwards. The Hyuga Clan Head agrees, causing Hanabi to be quite joyful as she thanks Naruto while leaving. As it turns out, the Uzumaki was not 100% certain when Konohamaru would be leaving for a mission, but ninjas are always going on a mission soon. He simply made Hiashi assume that Konohamaru would be leaving at some point during the next two days, all so Hanabi could go on her date with her boyfriend.

Chapter 82

• Hanabi explains to Konohamaru what happened to her in the previous chapter. He comments that he'll be sure to thank Naruto the next time he sees him.
  • This is followed by Konohamaru and Hanabi expressing how much they've missed each other since the previous week. After he asks if she wants to grab something to eat and head to their usual spot, she agrees and excitedly grabs his hand to pull him forward.
• Hanabi nervously asks Konohamaru if he loves her. He replies that he likes her a lot and cares about her, but he doesn't understand if it is love:
  Hanabi: Hinata knew she loved Naruto when she was younger than we are now. I'm not saying I know if we are in love but... I always think about you and want to be with you... Couldn't I be love? I just... want to know.
  Konohamaru: Hanabi... we have a long time to figure that out. [smiling and blushing] For now, just know that I really care a lot about you. I mean come on, you're smart, pretty, fun to be around, and...
  Hanabi: [smiling and blushing] And?
  Konohamaru: [grinning] And... you have a kick-ass right hook. That's just awesome when you knock a guy out.
  Hanabi: [giggles] Oh... Kono... you know how to sweet talk a lady. Now come here and give me a kiss right now my sweet boyfriend!
  Konohamaru: Oh-ho-ho at once Hanabi!
  [They kiss, with hearts appearing near their heads.]
• Naruto notices that Hinata seems a little distracted and correctly guesses that it's because Tenten and Neji are getting married so soon while they haven't set a date for their own wedding yet. The Uzumaki says "Listen... If setting a date is important to you then...", only to be interrupted by the Hyuga telling him not to worry about it given that they at least have time to think about the day, unlike her cousin and the latter's fiancée.

Chapter 83

• Mina comes across Taiki, one of her teammates. She's still sorry for using her technique on him during the Chunin Exams, but he reassures her by telling her to let that go already given that it happened years ago. As he says, if he "didn't want to risk getting [his] ass kicked now and again, [he] wouldn't be a ninja." Mina still feels guilty for it, but Taiki tells her that she should stop:
  Taiki: Now that you used the technique successfully, and stopped yourself, you should be proud, and I feel like I helped in a way to make you a stronger ninja. Hee-hee.

Chapter 85

• After the ANBU interrogation is over, Sakura smiles at the unconscious Sasuke. She hopes that her boyfriend knowing what happened after he killed Itachi and before he returned to Konoha will give him back a little more peace, while Tsunade comments she's sure he'll be happy to know he's not a copy after all.
• While reading the most recent part of his erotic novel, Naruto imagines the heroine to look just like Hinata and the hero to look just like himself. What follows are several panels depicting a romantic Big Damn Reunion (which includes The Big Damn Kiss) between the two protagonists, told in a way that gives the impression that Naruto was inspired by his own feelings towards Hinata to write it.
  • After Hinata is done reading the new part of Naruto's book, he asks her what does she think of it. Resting against his arm while blushing and smiling, she replies with "I thought it was very romantic, Naruto. You are such a sweet hearted romantic at heart."
• Sakura was worried for Tsunade given the whole thing about Jiraiya and Asuma, so she told Shizune about it. The latter decides to interrupt her few days off just to convince the Hokage to take a break, even bringing some alcoholic drink with her. Tsunade agrees and, while taking a sip of the drink, thanks Shizune for coming back in to look after her.

Chapter 86

• This chapter begins with Tsunade and Shizune being more relaxed, with the former thanking the latter for making her take a break.
• Arekusu asks Lee if she's not intruding in his life too much given that they've only known each other for a few days and yet she has moved in with him and they spend a lot of time together. He reassures her by saying he doesn't regret anything that has happened between them, with the two of them smiling and blushing at this moment.
• Tsunade is confused to see Jiraiya having his face markings, only to smile when she realizes that Naruto must have been responsible for it to make his godfather look more like his old self.
  • She then sits next to Jiraiya and talks about Naruto, how much he has grown in the past few years, the fact that he's engaged to Hinata, how much the latter has been such a good influence for him, and the fact that Tsunade is now a mother to him. Sometimes, Tsunade and Naruto would talk about Jiraiya and how the latter was like a father to the Uzumaki. She tells him he'd have been a good father and maybe they've have been good parents as a whole.
  • Eventually, she comes closer to him and says:
    Tsunade: But... The truth is... and I don't know if you can even hear me when I say this, but... The truth is... I'm nervous. Because I... I... I'm... I'm in love with you. And... I've missed you so much, *sniff*
    [She kisses him on the mouth, with tears coming out of her eyes.]
  • Tsunade is taken aback when she hears Jiraiya speaking even though his coma should prevent him from having any reaction like this one. After thinking about it some more, she becomes more hopeful over the possibility of waking him and Asuma up.
• Lee carrying Arekusu on his back. The former tells the latter that she did very well during training, making her blush and thank him.
  • When Lee tells Arekusu they should go to bed after dinner, she comments on how very forward of him it is to want to go to bed with her. He panics and once again bows down while saying that his intentions were pure, only for her to smile at him and say "Lee, I know. From what I've learned of you so far, you are a gentleman, and would never take advantage of me." They then continue on their way to the apartment, with a heart appearing next to Arekusu.

Chapter 88

• When Naruto tells Hinata he wants Teuchi to cater for their wedding, she thinks he's joking before realizing he's serious. She's reluctant to agree to his idea. However, Hinata's taken by surprise when he says it's the one thing he'll ask for regarding their wedding. She then smiles and blushes when Naruto says he wants their wedding to be everything she dreamed of and that, ultimately, all he wants is to marry her and have Teuchi cater.

Vol. 12: Chapters 89- 96

Chapter 89

• Naruto explains to Hinata why he insists on having Teuchi cater for their wedding:
  • As it turns out, Ichiraku is one of the few reasons why he never ran away from Konoha. When he was a little kid, there was one day where he thought the village would hate him forever after some mother accidentally knocked him down some stairs when she didn't want him to play with her kids (although the mother later apologized as she didn't mean to knock him down those stairs). However, Teuchi heard him crying and, after cleaning Naruto up and putting band-aids on his cuts, decided to serve him ramen for the first time. While making the ramen, Teuchi asked the young Uzumaki several questions. To Naruto, this was the first time someone was interested in who he was.
  • Smelling the ramen for the first time made Naruto feel safe, reminding him of a more caring memory that he couldn't remember. When the ramen was put in front of him, he had no idea what to do as no one ever gave him anything that they didn't have to. Teuchi told him it was on the house and to not worry about it. Eventually, Naruto had a big happy grin on his face and thanked the cook for the meal.
  • After Naruto finishes his story:
    Naruto: So... that's why it's so important to me, Hinata. I guess you could call it a thanks.
    Hinata: [smiling while her mouth is pretty close to his] You're so sweet.
    [They kiss, blushing while doing so.]
  • This is followed by the two of them playing a playful game where Naruto is pretending to be a stalker coming to get Hinata and she's pretending to be in distress over it (but they are both clearly enjoying it).
  • Then, Hinata asks Naruto if what he saw in the Namikaze scroll is stressing him out and she reminds him that he knows how she feels when he's keeping things from her. He says there was something in that scroll, but he can't tell her yet because there are too many questions going around in his head:
    Hinata: It's OK, Naruto. [kissing his shoulder] If you are not ready, it is OK. I just don't want you to hide that you're hurting.
    [They hug each other.]
    Naruto: I love you, Hinata.
    Hinata: I love you too.
• Hotaru asks Ino and Choji if she should send one or two invitations for her wedding. Her niece blushes and nervously tries to answer the question. Choji sadly looks down, already expecting her to say Hotaru should send two invitations. However, much to his shock, Ino nervously says he's her boyfriend and thus only one invitation will be needed.
  • This is followed by Hotaru telling them that they "are cute as a pair."
  • After Hotaru leaves, Ino notices that Choji is staring at her and asks him why he's doing that:
    Choji: [blushing and smiling at her] You called me your boyfriend. That's the first time you've ever said that to anyone.
    Ino: [looking down and blushing heavily] W-Well... We have s-slept together so... that kinda sealed the deal on it.
    Choji: [grinning] And you told your aunt I'm your boyfriend. [looking concerned while putting his arms on her shoulders] But Ino... seriously now... you're sure you want to make it official? Do you feel ready?
    Ino: No... [turning around and putting her arms on his shoulders] But Chouji... I'm still scared that this won't work, but I realize... that I want it to actually be something. I want to be with you.
    Choji: [blushing] Yeah? Really?
    Ino: Yeah.
    [They kiss.]

Chapter 90

• Naruto and Hinata having some private fun after they took their shower together.
  • After a brief visit from Kakashi and Sai, Naruto sees Hinata wearing a shirt that reveals a significant percentage of her cleavage. He comments that wearing the shirt just rose the temperature 10 degrees, making her giggle before she says:
    Hinata: [smiling] Well... I'll get some cool drinks to cool us both down.
    Naruto: [resting his head against her shoulder and smiling] OK. Love you.
    Hinata: [blushing] Love you too.
• The next day, Naruto is training on his jutsu while also having a picnic with Hinata. This in turn reminds them of when they had a picnic during their first date. Hinata says that, even though it didn't go as planned, it was still a great date:
  Naruto: [grinning and slightly blushing] Well, since we ended up kissing, I'll agree, hee-hee.
  Hinata: [smiling and blushing] Hee-hee.
  Naruto: And... I have to say... you've changed a lot since then and... well... you've also grown more beautiful.
  Hinata: R-Really?! You think so?
  Naruto: Believe it.
  • This is followed by a cute moment where Naruto is enjoying a lunch Hinata made for him while she's cuddling him.

Chapter 94

• Naruto panics when he thinks about how hard it'll be to read the book about time-space jutsu and that he'll never work it out. However, Hinata interrupts him with a Motivational Kiss, which definitely calms him down.
  • He tells her that the reason why he's letting this training get to him so much is because, unlike other trainings he's done (where if he fails, he just loses a boast), a promise he's done depends on this. She reassures him by saying "You won't let anyone down. You never do, you'll do it."

Chapter 95

• After witnessing Naruto failing his jutsu again, Hinata insists on the two of them taking a break. He's unwilling at first, but he ultimately agrees while smiling. His fiancée replies with "Good.", with a heart appearing in her speech bubble.
  • The following panels show the two of them snuggling each other while resting against a tree and watching the sunset. When Hinata comments on how lovely it is, she notices that Naruto is still thinking about his training and she reminds him that taking a break from training includes thinking about it. He sheepishly apologizes for it and she tells him to relax. When he asks her if she could do something to help him relax, she smiles and slightly blushes while saying "Oh... Sure." before they have a passionate kiss.
  • After the kiss, she rests her head against his chest, the two of them smiling and blushing. She tells him she can hear his heart beating. He playfully asks her if she can hear her name, but she playfully replies that she hears the word "ramen" instead, making him laugh and her giggle.
  • While looking at the sunset, Hinata tells Naruto that these kind of sunsets always make her think of him. He's confused by what she said and she then explains that the orange in the sunset is "so brilliant and strong, and makes [her] think of [him]." Blushing, she admits that, when she was younger, she used to find a quiet spot and just let the feeling wash over her. She would close her eyes, hug herself, and imagine it was Naruto and his warmth. This is illustrated by a flashback showing Hinata and an imaginary Naruto with their Part 1 designs. However, she makes an over-the-top horrified face when she realizes that it makes her sound so creepy, only for her fiancé to tell her while smiling "No, it doesn't."
  • Naruto then asks Hinata "What do you mean 'my warmth'?":
    Hinata: [slightly blushing] Well... the sun's warmth would just flow over me, and I would imagine it was yours instead. I... I a-always knew you would make me feel warm and safe in your arms. [smiling and looking at him] But now I don't have to imagine. I can do as I always dreamed, just reach over and feel it.
    Naruto: [smiling and slightly blushing] Yeah. And I can feel the warmth from you too.
    [Their lips are now pretty close to each other.]
    Hinata: I guess if we are both feeling it... then we must be one...
    Naruto: Yeah... we are one.
    [They kiss.]
• The next morning, Hinata wakes up and finds a letter from Naruto next to her. In the letter, he wrote that he got up early to do more training and that he really enjoyed having her around the previous day. As a result, he made a small breakfast picnic that he left in the kitchen so they can have breakfast on the training field. The next panel then shows Hinata smiling and blushing at what she just read.

Chapter 96

• Naruto finds a Hiraishin kunai that must have belonged to his father. As a result, he has a tear coming out of his eye given that he never expected to touch something held by one of his parents, though he doesn't quite know how to feel.
  • Naruto also finds a pouch that belonged to his father. He finds some pictures of his parents, resulting in the young Uzumaki having some Tears of Joy as he looks at them. Among the pictures, one of them has Kushina taking Minato by surprise. Another has Minato and Kushina looking happy, the latter being pregnant with Naruto.
  • After finding the pictures, Naruto wonders if they would be proud if they could see him:
    Naruto: [looking surprised] Huh?! That was a weird feeling. [smiling and closing his eyes] Hmm... It's like I have the sense they are proud of me. What a weird feeling.
• Feeling bad for the baby fox due to his mother being dead, Naruto decides to bring the small animal to his home instead of leaving him all alone. Grinning, he asks Hinata if he can keep him. After the latter licks the Hyuga's nose, she smiles and blushes while accepting her fiancé's request.

Vol. 13: Chapters 97- 104

Chapter 99

• After an emotional moment where, among other things, Sasuke explained to Sakura how he felt when she tried to convince to not leave Konoha and that he finds it easy to blame what he did back then on Evil Sasuke, she tells him that she forgave him long ago and she keeps forgiving him every time he shows his tender side to her, but also that, as much as she loves him, she can't live with revenge in their lives. He apologizes and asks her to stay with him. She thinks he wants her to stay for the night at his apartment, but he clarifies by saying he wants her to move in with him:
  Sakura: [looking shocked] You... want me to... move in with you?! Why are you asking that so suddenly? Don't tell me it's only because of all this.
  Sasuke: You could say it only pushed me into something I should have asked you before. You practically live there anyway, and most nights you stay over. But mostly... I want you there, even when you're not around. I want to look around and see that your presence is around me, in the little touches you would bring.
  [She hugs him tightly.]
  Sasuke: ... Sakura?
  Sakura: [slightly blushing and slightly smiling] Sasuke... Let's just go. OK? I love you.
  Sasuke: [slightly blushing and slightly smiling as well] I love you too.
• Naruto and Hinata making out at their house and enjoying every second of it.

Chapter 100

• Naruto and Hinata talk about Kosuke's connection to the Kyubi. She says they should keep an eye on his behavior and be wary of any other similarities between these two. His fiancé then looks sad and says he just wondered if the elders and the Third Hokage talked about him in this way. Hinata then interrupts him with a Motivational Kiss. After the kiss is over:
  Hinata: [smiling and blushing] Don't feel so bad, OK?
  Naruto: [smiling and blushing as well] OK... I love you so much, Hinata.
  Hinata: I love you too.
  Naruto: [hugging her from behind while grinning] Hee-hee. You know that was a cheat though, right?
  Hinata: No... It was a pre-emptive strike.
  Naruto: Funny...
• Kei asks Mina why she used her family's secret technique against Tayuya:
  Mina: I... don't know really. I guess... I was tired of letting everyone down, when it came to fighting. Though... it scared me to use it... and still scares me thinking about it.
  Kei: I know. You showed bravery in ignoring that fear, Mina. Well done.
  Mina: [smiling] Oh! Thank you, Kei.
  • Mina asks Kei if she wants to hang out for a while after talking to Tayuya. Kei declines, saying her mission is taking up all her time. However, Mina says they can go get some ice cream. Kei is silent for a moment, seemingly considering the idea, until she admits that a break would help. This makes Mina give a hug to her friend.

Chapter 101

• Anko worries that her protégées don't have as much time to socialize as other teams and that Kei in particular has become a workaholic. Kakashi tries to reassure her by saying:
  Kakashi: You've looked after those girls just fine. You've done all you can. If you think Kei works too much, then lower the mission load.
  Anko: I'm not sure she would like that.
  [The two of them are looking at each other seductively.]
  Kakashi: You're her sensei, and her friend. You'll do what's best for her in the end.
  Anko: You think so? [pulling down his mask] I knew there was a reason I liked you, Kakashi.
  [They kiss.]

Chapter 102

• Upon seeing Arekusu's sad expression, Miho correctly guesses that the former thinks the latter is Lee's girlfriend. However, Miho makes it clear to Arekusu that Lee is like a little brother to her. Thus, Arekusu has no reason to be jealous.
• After seeing Hinata flirting with Naruto when the latter comments that he's gonna work on his book, Tenten smiles and blushes at that. She comments that the Hyuga is such a flirt with her fiancé and that she used to be so shy around him. Hinata blushes and does her trademark Shy Finger-Twiddling while saying that she was just playing around. This is followed by Tenten saying she wasn't criticizing:
  Tenten: I just thought it looked cute; the two of you acting like that.

Chapter 103

• Naruto apologizes to Hinata for asking a picture of her being naked. She then tells him that, while she was embarrassed that he asked her that, he shouldn't feel bad about asking:
  Naruto: [blushing] I just didn't want to make you uncomfortable.
  Hinata: [blushing as well] Well... Maybe one day. OK?
  Naruto: OK.
  [They kiss.]
• Naruto and Hinata having another tender moment after Tsunade has left their house.

Chapter 104

• Naruto reading the ending of his book to Hinata. While she does wish Tai and Taya (the book's hero and heroine) had gotten married at the end, Hinata nonetheless tells Naruto that it was so good and that she's very proud of him, all while kissing him on the cheek. This in turn makes him grin and rub the back of his head.
  • They then start making out, in a way that would lead to the two of them having sex. However, they're interrupted by Kosuke jumping onto their bed. Naruto tries to make him leave, but he fails at doing so. The Uzumaki tries one more time, but he's interrupted when Hinata says:
    Hinata: Naruto, just leave him be. He just wants to sleep.
    Naruto: But... we...
    Hinata: [blushing, smiling, and extending her arms at her fiancé] Does it really matter? All I want to do is hold you. Can't we just cuddle up for the night?
    Naruto: [blushing and smiling] Yeah... Sure. That sounds perfectly fine, to me.
    [They hug each other, the two of them pleased by that.]

Vol. 14: Chapters 105- 112

Chapter 105

• Naruto and Hinata hugging each other one last time before he leaves on his mission, all while reassuring her that he will come back safely.
• After Sasuke explains to Sakura that he sees his forehead protector almost like a symbol of his two sides, he says that it sounds crazy to think that a piece of metal and clothing can mean something like that. His girlfriend reassures him by hugging him from behind and telling him "It doesn't sound crazy at all." He's glad to hear that and, after tying his forehead protector around his head, says the following with determination:
  Sasuke: I'm happy, I have friends, I'm in love. My life has a meaning. This is the side that comes from this symbol, and I will shatter that tainted reflection.

Chapter 108

• Karin tells Sakura there's a room that Sasuke shouldn't go into. The pink-haired kunoichi asks her "Why do you care about 'my' Sasuke?" given that Karin already has Evil Sasuke. The red-haired kunoichi explains that she failed to protect her own Sasuke, being blind to his growing darkness, and that she's willing to help Sakura make sure the real Sasuke doesn't see something he shouldn't. Even though she's jealous of Sakura having the life she's always wanted to have with the real Sasuke, she's ultimately unwilling to let him go down a similar path as his evil clone.

Chapter 112

• Sasuke beats the crap out of Evil Sasuke after seeing the injuries the latter did to Sakura. While doing so, his forehead protector falls off his head. Evil Sasuke then tries to make the real one admits that they're more alike than he thinks. Sasuke has a concerned look over what his evil clone is saying until Sakura makes him notice his forehead protector on the ground and reminds him of what he said about it several chapters ago. This allows Sasuke to calm down and reject his evil clone's arguments.

Vol. 15: Chapters 113- 120

Chapter 114

• Naruto berates himself for allowing Seireiko to escape as a result of not being willing to kill Yori. He brings up when the latter asked him if he honestly thinks he will become Hokage without killing his enemies. His parents reassure him by saying what follows:
  Minato: Naruto, I never became Hokage because I was good at killing.
  Kushina: Naruto, you have a good heart. That's why it's hard on you. But, don't think that it's a bad thing. I'm proud you have that kind of self-control. I knew too many shinobi who were too ready to kill or easily passed it off.

Chapter 115

• Sakura is trying to heal Karin, only for the latter to angst and tell her there's no point in living given that the red-haired kunoichi betrayed the man she loves (Evil Sasuke in this case) while Sakura has the real Sasuke as her boyfriend. Despite understandably not having a good opinion of Karin as a result of the latter stabbing her several chapters ago, Sakura tries her best to cheer her up by telling her, among other things, to give herself more respect.

Chapter 119

• Minato tells Kakashi that he's just glad Naruto had some good teachers, thus not only praising Jiraiya, but also his former student he's talking to.
  • Kushina having a discussion with Naruto, thus allowing her to learn more about her son for the first time.
  • When Naruto tells his mother that he found real love when he met Hinata, he proceeds to gush over his fiancée, doing so while blushing and having a grin so wide it's adorable:
    Naruto: She's a little shy at times, but when she blushes, it just makes her so much more cuter. I used to think she was a little weird, since she used to faint all the time for some reason. She still does, now and again. But she's smart, beautiful, kind, and gentle. She can be really strong, too. She doesn't think she is, but I KNOW she is.
  • Naruto is concerned over the fact that his parents have a limited time among the living. Smiling, Kushina decides to reassure him by telling him "But no matter what, we'll always be with you, in some way; because we love you and that will never fade."

Chapter 120

• The chapter begins with one of the former captives thanking Yuko for saving herself, her son, and all the others. In response, Yuko is humble, blushing, smiling, and rubbing the back of her head while saying "Aww. Ya making me blush."

Vol. 16: Chapters 121- 128

Chapter 124

• When Sasuke and Itachi are having a discussion, the latter brings up Sakura:
  Itachi: But, what about you? Are you happy? That pink-haired girl is cute. You're lucky.
  Sasuke: Yeah. Sakura means a lot, to me.
  Itachi: I can see it.
  [Sasuke turns his face away in embarrassment.]
  Itachi: Don't get embarrassed. Mom always said you would be a heartbreaker.
  • This is followed by Itachi pointing out that Karin seems very heartbroken and he suggests to Sasuke to go talk to her, with the younger brother agreeing to do so. It's nice to see both Uchiha brothers showing concerns for her.
• Hinata telling Minato and Kushina about her romance with Naruto.
  • Kushina is upset over the fact she and Minato only have limited time among the living. After a moment of silence, Kosuke jumps into her lap. At first, Kushina is surprised, but she smiles as she thinks he just wants to make her feel better. She then pets him while calling him a good boy.
• At the hospital, Naruto mentions to Tsunade that his parents are at his house. He notices that she looks upset and asks if he said something wrong. Tsunade tries to pretend there's nothing wrong, but Naruto doesn't buy it and interrupts her by hugging her and telling her she's still his mother. The Hokage smiles and thanks him for that:
  Naruto: I'm happy to have you as my mom. No matter if my birth mom is here or not, you'll always be my mom, too.
  Tsunade: OK, OK. I get it, Naruto. You're a sweet son, to me.

Chapter 125

• After Naruto explains to his parents about Hinata's fainting habits, he says "It's kinda cute. I enjoy having to carry her home or somewhere, when it happens outside." He says that while kissing his unconscious fiancée on her forehead. The fact she's smiling and blushing indicates she's able to feel the kiss despite being unconscious. Both of his parents smile at what he said, with Kushina saying "Aww. That's cute."
  • Naruto asks his parents if they approve of Hinata:
    Minato: Of course, we do. She's quite a catch.
    Kushina: Not that you really need our approval, after all this time.
    Naruto: I know, but she means a lot to me, and... well, I just want to know that I would make you guys proud of who I chose to spend my life with. [petting the still unconscious, blushing, and smiling Hinata] I really can't see myself living without her.
  • Naruto tells his parents that Hinata has loved him for years, but it took him a really long time to notice her feelings for him. He told the Hyuga about the guilty feeling he's had over this and, even though she said it's OK, he still can't help but have that feeling. Minato reassures his son by telling him that just because him noticing her wasn't instant, it doesn't mean he did anything wrong. He adds that it doesn't matter if it's the first or the fifteenth girl he sees and that he should be happy when he does see them.

Chapter 126

• Hinata reveals to Minato and Kushina that Naruto once placed graffiti over the monument faces. After her fiancé makes an Oh, Crap! face, she apologizes while blushing and smiling over embarrassing him like that, but Naruto tells her "No, it's OK." while having his arm around her. Kushina then smiles and tells them they are so cute together.
  • Naruto asks his parents if they were ever like him and Hinata. Minato smiles and blushes while saying "Well... I dunno." As for Kushina, she tries to keep a straight face and says "Maybe just a little." This causes Naruto to grin and giggle.
  • After a comedic moment where Kushina shames Naruto and Hinata for sleeping in the same bedroom before getting married, Minato tells his wife that their son and the latter's fiancée are deeply in love, just like how they were. This is followed by a tender moment between the Fourth Hokage and his wife, indicating that their feelings for each other haven't changed after death.
  • While having this tender moment, Minato and Kushina are surprised to notice that Naruto and Hinata are gone. They then realize that the latter two are in the kitchen. While there, Naruto apologizes to Hinata for not saying hi properly after coming back from his mission. She says it's OK given that they have important guests. He says that shouldn't have stopped him from saying hi and decides to correct this mistake:
    Naruto: [blushing and smiling at her] I'm home, Hinata.
    Hinata: [blushing and smiling back] Welcome home, Naruto.
    [They hug each other.]
    Hinata: I am glad you are safe and sound.
    Naruto: I'm glad to be back home, with you.

Chapter 127

• Hinata tells Kushina that she's concerned over Naruto's nightmares he's had since that one mission where he was reported to be MIA, saying that he should be talking to someone better than her over it. Kushina tries to reassure her by saying:
  Kushina: Hinata, you being there for him is all you can do. If you feel this way, talk to him. If you truly think he needs help, then tell him to go. [grinning and holding her fist] And if he doesn't listen to you, bash him on the head!

Chapter 128

• Tsunade and Kushina have a not-so-friendly discussion with each other that is interrupted by Hinata, who makes the following speech:
  Hinata: Sorry to interrupt, but why don't we go on and dish out the dinner? I'm sure Naruto and his father will be down soon. He can detect ramen from quite a distance. And I think it would be nice to have it all set out, with both of his mothers waiting for him. Honestly, I do not think anything would please him more. Having his real mother and the mother who chose him, and having a wonderful dinner with them. It's something he needs. Or at least, that is my thinking.
  • Naruto walks downstairs and hugs Tsunade while calling her "Mom". Kushina looks upset after he said that, with Tsunade feeling bad for her. However, Naruto notices his real mother's reaction, grabs her by the wrist, tells her she's his mom too and to come closer, and puts his arms around both of his mothers while having a large grin, causing his two mothers to smile.
• At the hospital, Gai is upset over Miho being in a coma. Lee, alongside Arekusu, tries to make him feel better by telling him "Miho is strong. She will pull through; I just know it." This in turn causes Gai to be his optimistic over-the-top self again while saying that the power of youth will help her pull through.

Vol. 17: Chapters 129- 136

Chapter 129

• Naruto is upset over the limited time his parents have among the living and angsts about it. He tells Hinata that maybe this is his punishment for having a good life and that he's destined to be alone. However, his fiancée interrupts him by reminding him he's always fought against destiny. He then says that he sometimes believes in destiny, telling her "I believe you were destined for me."
  • This is followed by Hinata telling him:
    Hinata: This situation is not a whim of fate, Naruto. It is sad, yes, but do what you always do: look ahead, slam your hand on the counter and shout out, 'I make my own fate!'
    Naruto: ...
    Hinata: Naruto, you've not let fate get you down before. You shout at it, so everyone can hear your defiance. [putting her hand over his] You never give up. Don't start now.
    Naruto: [with a small smile] Do I really shout a lot?
    Hinata: [blushing, smiling, and resting her head on his shoulder] Believe it. Tee-hee.
    Naruto: Oh, funny.
  • Kushina comments to Tsunade that she thinks she scared Naruto as much as she scared herself regarding what just happened with her hand. Tsunade then says:
    Tsunade: This isn't easy on either of you. But, Naruto has faced plenty in his life. He'll pull through. Besides, he has Hinata with him. I've never known him happier than when he is around her. She'll get him through it, too.

Chapter 132

• Ino mentions to Hotaru that her father and Choji's father are worried that Ino and Choji are going to ruin the Cho-Shika-Ino tradition given the possibility of the two of them getting married to each other (thus one of them would be giving up their clan name). Her aunt tells her to just ignore them and that all that should matter is that Ino and Choji are happy with each other. This makes her niece smile and blush, who then tells Hotaru to remember that advice in regards to her own relationship with Iruka.
• While being worried, Hanabi asks Konohamaru if he wonders about other girls. Smiling tenderly at her, he asks her why would he wonder about others when he has her.

Chapter 133

• At one point during the flashback, Naruto as a baby was crying, with Shizune trying her best to calm him down to no avail. Tsunade decided to give him a stern talk. However, immediately after she took him from Shizune and held him in his arms, he stopped crying, much to her surprise. This causes Shizune to smile and say "I guess he just wanted you, Lady Tsunade. Hee-hee."

Chapter 134

• Tsunade was willing to let Jiraiya take care of Naruto as she didn't want to get attached to him. However, her motherly instincts kicked in when she came back home and Shizune told her the baby had a fever. After spending a moment making sure Naruto was okay, Tsunade smiled and told Jiraiya that she was going to keep his godson around a little bit longer. What follows is a montage showing Tsunade and Naruto spending several joyful moments together.
• After learning that his dream of becoming Hokage caused Tsunade to leave, Naruto starts tearing up and blames himself for that. However, she apologizes for leaving him before smiling at him, putting her hand on his cheek, and telling him "You gave me so much, and for that, I will love you as my son. Forever."

Chapter 135

• Tsunade explaining to Naruto what she felt towards him during the events of the Search for Tsunade arc:
  Tsunade: The world had changed in an instant, from a dark lonely place to a brighter one. My son would be OK. I finally believed it, and it made me happy.
• While admitting that he just needs to think it over a little more, Naruto forgives Tsunade for abandoning him. She then tells him she's there for him if he wants to talk about it before they hug each other:
  Tsunade: I love you, Naruto. Don't ever doubt that. You're my son.
  Naruto: I love you too... [crying tears] ...Mom.

Chapter 136

• When Naruto returns home, Hinata can tell that something is bothering him and she tells him he should talk about it. He then asks her "Can we save it for later? I just got back." He asks that while kissing her on the cheek, making her blush and smile.
• After Naruto finally lets all of his anger out of his system, he asks Hinata why she's never scared of him when he's like that:
  Hinata: Naruto... Truth be told, I am scared. I was scared just then. But, I trust you, and I know you would never intentionally hurt me.
• While talking with Tenten about her bachelorette party, Neji has some humorous banter with her where he says that he sometimes wonder if she's ready for the married life. She says she is and, while blushing and seductively looking at him, that there are certain appealing qualities:
  Neji: Like?
  Tenten: Living with a rather handsome young man, who makes my heart pound. And...
  Neji: And...?
  Tenten: [about to kiss him] I get to kiss you whenever I wa...
  [Unfortunately for both of them, she's interrupted by a sudden urge to throw up caused by her pregnancy.]
