The Ghost, the Trickster and Molly McGee is a Crossover between The Ghost and Molly McGee and Avengers: Endgame by Epiclot214.

Loki has died. He has a chance of being revived, but he has to assist Scratch in making Brighton miserable to earn his life back. But when Molly McGee shows up, things get complicated for the trickster who turned into a kid.

This fanfic provides examples of:

  • Actually Pretty Funny:
    • When Loki learns how Daryl got the school staff sent to jail, it’s probably the hardest he’s laughed in years.
    • Amora laughs when she discovers Loki is stuck in his kid form.
  • Adaptational Badass: In this universe Bobby Daniels was given powers similar to Captain America's in an experiment during the time in the military.
  • Affably Evil: Lady Death is a very polite and kindful person to everyone (even Loki and Scratch) who is implied to be just a Punch-Clock Villain.
  • Aliens Love Human Food: Loki likes Earth's junk food as seen in chapter 5.
  • Been There, Shaped History: It turns out Loki is the one who first inspired the story of the Christmas Carol. He made someone back in Victorian London go through a similar ordeal to what Ebenezer Scrooge goes through and that gent wound up telling Charles Dickens about it. Turns out it was part of a promise he made to his mother to do one good deed a year. And he really isn’t happy about not getting credit.
  • Being Good Sucks: Loki and Scratch’s attitude towards Molly’s class on how to be nice.
  • Composite Character:
    • This version of Loki takes some parts from the MCU and some parts from Young Avengers comics.
    • Lady Death has taken The Grim Reaper's place as a chairman of the Ghost Council.
  • Commonality Connection: Loki manages to become friends with Andrea because they've very much in common (both are Prima Donnas with big egos (and, unknown to both of them yet, both have family issues)).
    • And both are adopted from other worlds.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He may be dead and a kid but that doesn't mean Loki still can't snark it up.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Loki doesn't like that people don't know about him or only known that he's Thor's brother.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Things like compassion and true friendship really are alien to Loki. Having said that, seeing Molly’s determination and the kindness of others in Brighton is starting to have an effect on the Prince.
  • Exact Words: When Scratch tries to use Loki's infamy to get into the club, they're both rebuffed by the bouncer; as he points out, the club's for famous ghosts, and Loki, with his new living body, no longer qualifies.
  • From Bad to Worse: As if Loki’s current situation wasn’t bad enough, now Heimdall’s starting to sense his magic and the other Asguardians are zeroing in on him.
    • Also, Amora the Enchantress is after Loki too. In chapter 24, she finally finds him.
    • And to top it all off, some Loki time variants are searching for him as well, and not only do they make sure that he wins the Mayor for a Day contest when he didn't even enter as part of a plan to get him run out of town, but there's at least four more Loki variants out there that they're also looking for.
    • Not only do the McGees lose the house, but Loki is captured by Amora and Skurge.
    • The mysterious villain who mind-controlled Lady Death has now taken control of Odin.
    • A certain family of ghost hunters have now set there sights on Brighton.
  • Gender Bender: Like in the myths, Loki can freely change his gender at will.
  • Good All Along: In the final, it's revealed that Lady Death was really under mind control by someone who fed off the fear that the ghosts caused by scaring humans, when really she was actually quite a benevolent being who definitely didn't need fear to live, nor did she approve of the idea of scaring humans.
  • Greater Scoope Villain: The mysterious entity who possessed Death (and later Odin).
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Amora's own spell to give the McGees Laser-Guided Amnesia about Loki being in Brighton gets deflected back at her and Skurge, wiping their memories, and if that wasn't bad enough their beacon gets the attention of Thor and Sif, who drag them off to prison on Asgard and assume that they were the cause of anything they detected of Loki.
  • I Can Live With That: When Molly tells Loki that Brighton's Lemmings give him "a team deodorant" as a nickname, he said that as long as they praising him (or her), he can live with that (while disliking it a bit).
  • Identity Amnesia: Bobby Daniels lost all of his memories save for his name after an explosion at the off-the-books lab of the scientist who recreated the Super Soldier Serum and tested it on blew up thanks to the scientist having stolen some of the materials from a colleague, who brought the police there and started a firefight with Bobby's military squad. He doesn't recover his memories for decades.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite Loki getting the "Mayor for a Day" position instead of Molly, the syrup and horsefly incidents still happen.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: When Molly asked Loki that all Brighton's Lemmings need is to believe in themselves to win, Loki replies that pretty much all supervillains starts crimes with a full of confidence until some superhero crushed them. Scratch agreed with him.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • During one of Molly's presentations, Loki says he'd rather have snake drip venom into his eyes until Ragnarök than listen to that.
    • In Chapter 9, Loki claims to have the face for a streaming show.
    • In Chapter 31, Amora traps Loki in a greatest hits of his past failures, just like in the Loki show.
  • Noodle Incident: Whatever resulted in Loki's death. Loki refuses to talk about it, and from what Thor described, it happened in Norway and resulted in his body being vaporized.
  • Oh, Crap!: Loki when he sees Lady Sif hunting for him in chapter 14. He has it again in chapter 15 when Thor arrives investigating the storm caused by Ezekiel Tugbottom.
  • Pet the Dog: Loki’s had a couple of moments so far:
    • After spending the whole softball season cheating with magic, Loki decides to let the team prove themselves after seeing how Molly reacted to the truth.
    • Molly is absolutely crushed when she discovers her plan to intercept Kenny Star to play at the Bandshell was all for nothing. So what do Loki and Scratch decide to do? Have Loki shape-shift into Kenny and sing instead.
  • Point of Divergence: Thanks to a false submission, "Lukas" wins the "Mayor for a Day" contest instead of Molly.
  • Protagonist Title: The Ghost (Scratch), The Trickster (Loki) and Molly McGee.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Lady Death is very polite and listens about Scratch and Loki without a moment of jerkassery or hesitation and helps them with advice. Also she gave Loki a second chance but he needs to prove it to be fully ressurected and free.
  • Ship Tease: In chapter 5, Andrea removes her attention from the phone and asks Lucy (Loki's female alter-ego on Earth) if Lucas (Loki's male alter-ego on Earth) ever talked about her.
    • Chapter 9 sees Andrea sing a romantic duet with Lucas. Her excuse is it’s part of her new script…
    • Chapter 22 reveals her actual name is the name of Loki’s lover from the Norse myths further teasing the ship.
    • In Chapter 29, when "Lucas" asks Andrea for the luck-enchanted penny, saying that it's his and he was going to check and see if it was worth anything, she agrees to give it to him if he uses any money he gets to get coffee with her, clearly wanting it to be a date despite Loki's denial of the idea when the others mention that. It's also noted that Loki is the only one of the group who isn't negatively affected by Andrea's excessive good luck, meaning she'd consider it unlucky for him to get hurt.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Loki's reaction to Brighton's residents and ghosts are resentment at the best. Usually he's more vocal and expressive about this.
  • Synchronization: Lady Death mystically tied Loki to Scratch when she changed him into his child form, so anything that mystically affects the latter also does so to the former. Besides letting him be summoned by Molly because of the curse just like Scratch, when Scratch starts becoming cute, Loki does as well.
  • Truer to the Text: Loki is genderfluid in this continuty like in original myths. Loki also reveals that he once cut off Lady Sif's hair as a prank, just like he did in the myths.
  • Villainous Crush: Andrea carrying a torch for Loki, or rather Lucas.
  • Villains Out Shopping:
    • Loki is seen eating nachos and other junk food at chapter 5.
    • Lady Death likes to relax in her personal domain in her garden.
  • Villain Protagonist: Loki is a main protagonist and a villain as in canon.
  • Wham Episode: Chapter 30 ends with Amora and Skurge capturing Loki, while meanwhile Andrea starts to realize that "Lucas" is Loki.
  • Wham Line: When discussing who put her under mind-control to gain power from the fear of mortals scared by ghosts, Lady Death mentions that she remembers a single name, "Cul".
  • Wham Shot: Chapter 22 reveals Andrea is adopted and has been using her social media fame to try and reach out to her real family. She was left on the steps of an orphanage in a basket with her name on it. The chapter ends with an even bigger bombshell. Her real name is Angrboda, as in the mother of monsters and Loki’s lover in Norse mythology.
    • When Loki steps into the blizzard that rolls through Brighton, his frost giant traits start to show from the intense cold. Lo and behold it turns out one of his variants stepped into town during that time trying to find him and their very presence was the source behind the extra cold.
    • Chapter 35 has a few, like the dream Andrea has of her birth mother abandoning her, and the flash of purple in Odin's eye showing that the one responsible for Lady Death being brainwashed is now controlling him.
  • When She Smiles: Loki can’t help but crack a smile at seeing the townspeople come together and help build the bandshell.
