Team 8

Kurenai Yuuhi

• Only Sane Man: Often seems so in her interactions with the other jounin... Anko in particular.
  • In fact, one could easily say she qualifies for the entire main cast.

Hinata Hyuuga

• Action Girl: Ninja
• Adaptational Badass: As per canon she is a professional ninja but she has some extra training here.
  • She's easily the strongest kunoichi in the Konoha 12 after Sakura, and Sakura has the advantage of future knowledge. After the Time Skip, she's easily one of the strongest ninja in the entire village.
• Ascended Extra: Not that she was that much of an extra in canon, but she really gets to shine here, having been the second one after Naruto in Ghost's training program and being one of the more central characters.
• Berserk Button: Stay away from her diary. She threatened Neji that if he ever read her diary, she would use him as her testing dummy for her personal jutsu. He stills shivers at the memory.
  • Never get between her and Naruto, especially when said idiot's been gone for three years and this is their first meeting in a long while. Sasuke fully admits that he'd much rather fight his brother at full strength then try to pry his best friend from his girlfriend's grasp.
• Beware the Nice Ones: As she shows her entire clan after training with Ghost and Naruto, just because she is a sweet and shy girl doesn't mean that she is weak at all.
• Clingy Jealous Girl: She is very possessive of Naruto, and easily gets irritated if someone else sets their sights on him, such as when Shion outright kissed him.
• Covert Pervert: And getting less and less covert by the minute. Her diary is implied to have some fairly explicit fantasies in there...
• Cute Bruiser: She can fight Naruto and come out relatively unharmed, and she may be the most promising heir the Hyuuga have ever seen. She's also only a teenager.
• Dissonant Serenity: She tends to lapse into this when she's angry, and it is terrifying.
• The Dreaded: To Ghost. His return to the village without Naruto has left her very pissed with him. As a result, Ghost is making an effort to stay away from her.
  • An angry Hinata is a scary Hinata, whom everyone is rightly afraid of, those most so being Naruto (due to being her boyfriend), Ghost (her teacher), and Neji (who probably has the most contact with her outside of Naruto, Ghost, and her team).
• Excalibur in the Rust: Her treatment by the Main Branch and subsequent insecurities made her this.
• Heroic Self-Deprecation: She lapses into this on occasion, although she has been coming out of it.
• Lightning Bruiser: She has good defense, phenomenal offense, and is quite fast.
• Little Miss Snarker: She has started to pick this up. Sticking around Naruto and Ghost will certainly do that to you.
• Puppy-Dog Eyes: She has mastered them pre-timeskip. They are most effective on Naruto.
• Red Baron: After the timeskip, she is known in the Bingo Books as 'The Princess.'
  • She is also known as Konoha's Arashi no Me (Eye of the Storm) before the timeskip.
• The Rival: One of Naruto's, albeit in a friendly way.
• Super-Reflexes: More so even than most of the Konoha 12.
• Took a Level in Badass: Compared to her canon self. To clarify, she is one of only a few (as in "countable on one hand") out the Konoha 13 (including Kin) that can keep up a fight against Naruto and "not be brutally murdered".
• Violently Protective Girlfriend: Towards Naruto, and it's one of the reasons that Ghost is trying to stay as far away from her as possible when Naruto ditched him at the beginning of Take Two Round Two.
• Yandere: Of the cultured variety, according to Word of God.

Kiba Inuzuka

• Butt-Monkey: To a certain extent, he is this to the Konoha 12. He certainly gets a lot of flak for his smell and tendency to hit on everyone, and he's the only one who doesn't make it past the preliminaries of the Chuunin Exams.
• Sadistic Choice: Why he doesn't make it past the prelims; his opponent holds Akamaru at kunai-point and threatens to kill him if he doesn't concede.

Shino Aburame

• Ascended Extra: He finally gets to be the Deuteragonist during the Demon Country mission, being the only one aware of the Time Crash aside from Shion for Naruto to confide in.
• Big Creepy-Crawlies: Shino takes his Kikaichu even further than in canon. Thanks to training under Gai and Lee, with the addition of some custom gauntlets, he can shoot them into his enemies with taijutsu. And thanks to some advice from Shadow, Shino can now evolve his Kikaichu even further normally thought possible and infuse them with the elemental affinities, creating summon sized monstrosities.
• Hidden Depths: Apparently has a wondrous singing voice.
• Meaningful Name: The title Shadow dubs him, Genesis, is rather fitting. Genesis is the origin or formation of something, and Shino has reached the point in his abilities where he can create monstrous insects by sheer will. As Shadow put it, Shino doesn't need to fight like or become a monster, for he can make more than enough already.
• Names to Run Away from Really Fast: While not officially in the Bingo Books yet, Shadow has dubbed Shino with a fitting name for when he is thanks to his new skills as a result of her advice. That name? Genesis.
• Not So Stoic: When he gets put on a mission with Naruto, as he was the last to experience the phenomenon of "all hell breaks loose on missions with Naruto on them." He's...quite enthusiastic about the idea.
• Out of Focus: Out of all of the Konoha 12, he's the one who suffers this the most, though he has his occasional Day in the Limelight. Firmly subverted once he is put on the team for the Demon Country mission.
• Power Fist: Thanks to his modified gauntlets, his punches can shoot out his bugs and make him devastating at close range as well as long range battles.
• Secret-Keeper: He's one of the few non-Time Travelers to be aware of the Time Crash, having been informed about it after he noticed something was going on with the others.
• The Stoic: As in canon; actually, he's possibly the one character who keeps most of his stoicism.

Team 10

Asuma Sarutobi

• She Is Not My Girlfriend: Defied; his relationship with Kurenai becomes fairly open after a few chapters. It helps that he had his memories restored and has more time to be with her.

Shikamaru Nara

• Adaptational Badass: His training with Shadow has given him huge amounts of raw power, and the chainlink gave him a considerable mental edge.
• Belligerent Sexual Tension: As per usual, with Temari.
• Beyond the Impossible: The techniques that he learns as a result of Shadow's training are stated by multiple people to have been considered impossible by the Nara Clan.
• Casting a Shadow: Taken even further thanks to his training with Shadow.
• The Chessmaster: Given that he's got the chainlink, he counts. He even commands most of Konoha's forces during the Sound Invasion.
• Generation Xerox: Lampshaded by Chouji during the interlude between the second phase and the prelims, when he connects Temari's beating of Shikamaru to that of Shikamaru's parents. Apparently, Yoshino had started beating the crap out of Shikaku when he came home drunk one night... before kicking out the boys when they started to make out.
• Names to Run Away from Really Fast: The Black Deer. If with Ino and Chouji, the three of them are collectively called the Black Witch Mountain.
• The Sacred Darkness: After training with Shadow he has this mindset about darkness ninjitsu.

Ino Yamanaka

• Action Girl: Ninja
• Cute and Psycho: Ever since she started training with Anko, she's been showing signs of this because it's ANKO; like teacher like student.
• Genius Ditz: She is well-versed in both medical jutsu, poison techniques, and mental techniques. However she is also an unrepentant gossip despite any logical reason not to be, has a bad habit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, and can still be a bit of an airhead.
• Harem Seeker: She considers it at one point during the chuunin exams. Ultimately, she discards the idea and ends up happy with Chouji.
• Love Makes You Crazy: During the Chuunin Exams, resulting in the Funny Moment mentioned above.
• The Mole: Her cousin Fuu, a Root Agent, is using her to spy on the Oogakari for ROOT. The Oogakari are aware of this and as such deliberately give Ino false information so that in turn Danzo will only gain false info from Fuu.
• Names to Run Away from Really Fast: The Smiling Witch. If with Shikamaru and Chouji, the three of them are collectively called the Black Witch Mountain.
• Official Couple: Is initially wigged out by Chouji confessing his feelings for her during the Chunin exams, but later comes to terms with their feelings for one another. Soon after they start hooking up, and by the sequel, she makes no bones about her affection for him.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: At the beginning, she was the last person to take her training seriously, and she still has some issues with being weaker than a good number of her peers. Her training with Anko has really helped, though.
• Poisonous Person: She trained with Anko. It's also noted that her experience at the flower shop made her a prodigy when it came to poisons.
• Slasher Smile: She's a student of Anko Mitarashi, what do you think?

Chouji Akimichi

• Beware the Nice Ones: A gradual build up of stress from training, fat insults, and finally confessing to Ino caused Chouji to... snap during his match in the third phase of the Exams and use his Hyper-Destructive Bouncing Ball properties in conjunction with a technique that causes tremors. On the bright side, he won the match and his performance got him promoted!
• Hyper-Destructive Bouncing Ball: He learns attacks that allow him to, basically, function as this.
• Lightning Bruiser: As big as he is he can hit hard but the size doesn't slow him down.
• Names to Run Away from Really Fast: The Mountain King. If with Shikamaru and Ino, the three of them are collectively called the Black Witch Mountain.
• Troubled Fetal Position: When near anything explosive wielded by Tenten after a bad experience involving explosive sealed kunai. In fact, when near anything explosive in general.

Team Gai

Gai Maito

• Bunny-Ears Lawyer: He's Gai and Gai is always expert ninja who is out of his mind.
• Death by Adaptation: Due to Jashin (or some other God similar to him) making an unexpected appearance using Hidan as a body, Gai's entire left side was cursed. He dies after Crypt allows him a goodbye with his team. Crypt was around because this God was not supposed to have any access to the Narutoverse. Steps were made by the Oogakari and Naruto but something broke through anyway.
• Running Gag: Talking about anything related to the flames of youth, while anywhere in the village, will lead to Gai screaming out "YOUTH!" at the top of his lungs for everyone to hear.

Neji Hyuga

• Butt-Monkey: Whenever Crypt is around him, you can expect Crypt to bite on Neji's "Strawberry Flavored" head.
• Eye Scream: When Han attacks the Moon Country mission team, he gouges Neji's right eye out. Naruto gives him one of his own to replace it, but it requires him to keep his left eye covered ala Kakashi so he doesn't get a headache using his Byakugan.
• Laser-Guided Amnesia: He can do this to short-term memory via the Gentle Fist.
• Names to Run Away from Really Fast: They call him the "White Demon."
• Oh, Crap!: When Hinata's diary was stolen. Neji knows better than to go against the natural order.
• Too Dumb to Live: At several points Neji expresses his frustration with the Oogakari and comes a hairs breath away from attacking them himself. This is in spite of knowing what they are capable of doing and seeing just how loose their morals are. With Ghost its a bit more excusable since Ghost wouldn't outright kill him, but with Crypt while acting sane... The narration even makes a point to state that Crypt would have killed Neji for annoying him had Lee not stopped Neji.
• Twitchy Eye: Gained one when he saw Tenten have one of her fits when she saw Waltz's sword, having realized that she had succumbed to the crazy and therefore making him the only sane one of his team.
  "They've gotten to Tenten. I have to beg Hokage-sama to turn me into a chunin soon and get me out of the team soon or else I will break next…"

Lee Rock

• Boring, but Practical: The "special training" that Ghost comes up with for Lee is to take every third or fourth day off and rest. Lee is skeptical, since he believes it'll make him weaker, but after a brief run-through of how the body is supposed to rest and repair damage done to it (through, say, intense training) and seeing the results in action, he gets on board pretty quickly.
• Empowered Badass Normal: Crypt alters his body to be able to, in theory, open all eight gates and live. It's mentioned that this might actually be a bloodline limit now.
• Lightning Bruiser: Even more so than in canon, even before the timeskip!
• Names to Run Away from Really Fast: The Silent Beast. Named for the fact that he's mastered the Silent Killing technique, and is taught by Gai.
• Not Helping Your Case: Zabuza has Lee shave his eyebrows as a condition of teaching him the Silent Killing technique, claiming it will help him in his training. Zabuza comes to the conclusion that he looks worse without them.
• Weirdness Censor: As hypothesized by Tenten, the fact that they actively try to ignore him and Gai due to their eccentricities probably helps him be frighteningly successful at silent killing.

Tenten

• Absurdly Sharp Blade: Most of what she uses—she can do this with bows and arrows.
• Ascended Extra: In canon, it's practically a joke how little attention she gets. Here, she becomes Scabbard's apprentice, gaining a load of other, useful powers, and being elevated to a major supporting character on the same level as Shikamaru.
• Berserk Button: Don't mention the size of her chest or that she isn't feminine because she likes using weapons. That ends badly.
• BFS: She can create them with her faker abilities.
• Locked into Strangeness: Like other Fakers before her, her skin receives a permanent tan and her hair is stained white as a result of overusing projections after the Time Skip.
• Person of Mass Destruction
• Red Baron: After the timeskip, she is called 'The Blacksmith.'
