Ronaldo Vampire Hunter Agency

    Ronaldo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ronald_0.png
Voiced by: Makoto Furukawa (Japanese), Ian Sinclair (English)
A Vampire Hunter and one of the main characters of the trio.
  • Absurd Phobia: He not only dislikes the taste of celery but is actually deadly afraid of the vegetable itself. The mere sight of celery, especially living ones, is enough for him to immediately run for the hills while in tears and/or screaming his lungs out.
  • The Ace: He is a famous vampire hunter and a competent one at that. He also writes his own autobiography which is incredibly successful and Draluc admits that it's very well written.
  • Big Little Brother: He's taller than his older brother. This seems to be a trait running back to him at high-school age.
  • Butt-Monkey: When it's not Draluc as the butt of a joke, it's usually Ronaldo.
  • The Gunslinger: Often carries a revolver that fires Vampire Tranquilizer Darts that he uses to hunt Vampires.
  • Only Sane Man: Serves as the Straight Man for practically anything going on with Draluc, the Hunter's Guild, or just about anything in the world of the story.

    Draluc

Sand!
Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama (Japanese), Frank Todaro (English)
A Vampire Lord and the one who dies in no time.
  • Butt-Monkey: His tendency to die very easily tends to get him killed quite a bit.
  • Catchphrase: Yells "Sand!" every time he dies.
  • Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Generally prefers to leave humans alone and spend time playing video games. He hasn't had blood in so long that his first taste in years killed him. Downplayed at first as it seemed more like he simply couldn't be bothered to harm them than out of benevolence.
  • Hedonist: He's often up to no good, doing things only because it amuses him. In fact, he's even referred as a hedonist by several of the cast.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Holds a deep bond with his armadillo familiar, John.
  • Otaku: He'd rather stay in his room playing video games than suck people's blood or work at all.
  • Pathetically Weak: Anything can kill him, from light physical damage to even just emotional shock. He is always able to resurrect himself as long as something doesn't interfere with his dead dust pile.
  • Supreme Chef: He is an amazing cook, which Draluc explains is a necessity in order to lure humans to feed on them.
  • Vampire Vords: As expected for a vampire, the English dub of the show gives him the typical Bela Lugosi accent.
  • Vegetarian Vampire: Drinks more milk than blood to the point where when he tried to drink blood he died immediately from the taste.

    John
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/john_82.png
Nu!
Voiced by: Mutsumi Tamura (Japanese), Ellie Dritch (English)
An armadillo from South America and Draluc's familiar.
  • Animal Talk: Most of his appearances have him say "Nu" for his dialogue.
  • Interspecies Friendship: He holds a very deep friendship with Draluc, a vampire.
  • Loved by All: Every character introduced adores John and spoils him. Even on the rare occasions where Ronaldo wants to get rid of Draluc, he wants to stay with John. There was an episode where Draluc and Ronaldo believe he was kidnapped quickly move the entire Hunter's Guild and VCD to find him, who were already on high alert, but make it personal.
  • Overly Long Name: Initially called "Joker Ball Tamao Marusuke Orichalcon Z Guardian", which consisted of random names given by Draluc's family. It was shortened to "John O Guardian" almost immediately after and eventually to just "John".
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Often considered adorable by several hunters and vampires in-universe.

Vampire Control Division

    Hinaichi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hinaichi.png
Voiced by: Natsumi Hioka (Japanese), Alicyn Packard (English)
The genius young Vice-Captain of the Kanagawa Prefecture branch of the VCD.
  • Child Prodigy: Said to be the youngest member of the entire VCD, and the youngest Vice-Captain in its history.
  • Innocent Prodigy: Due to her young age, her social inexperience really shows. Cases in point: she gets flustered when Draluc courteously kisses her hand, and her "dirty" vocabulary consists of only the word "penis".
  • One-Word Vocabulary: Under Mr. Y-dan's spell, which forces any affected person to voice their dirty thoughts instead of what they are really trying to say, she's stuck with saying "penis" over and over.
  • Sweet Tooth: Instantly falls in love with Draluc's cookies after she tries one.

    Tou Handa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/handa.png
Voiced by: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Japanese), Anthony DiMascio (English)
A Dhampir member of the Vampire Control Division with an unhealthy obsession with ruining Ronaldo's reputation.
  • Bad Liar: He was taught that lying was bad, and whenever he does, his explanations in trying to uphold the lie get more and more ridiculous.
  • Momma's Boy: Tou loves his mother Akemi very much, and is one of the reasons why he wants to destroy Ronaldo.
  • Unknown Rival: To Ronaldo, whom he's wanted to best since they were in high school together. He's obsessed with finding ways to humiliate him.
  • Zany Scheme: Some of his plans in his attempt to tank Ronaldo's reputation involve serving him celery Hamburg steak or using inferior vampires known as Land Cliones to make him look like he's wearing high-cut pants.

    Hiyoshi
Captain of the Kanagawa Prefecture branch of the VCD.
  • The Casanova: Despite Ronaldo's belief that he was a gentleman that turned down the women he was so popular with, Hiyoshi actually became a hunter just to have a better chance with girls and was a party animal that got together with whomever he could.

Hunter's Guild

    Ta Chan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ta_chan.png
Voiced by: Kaori Ishihara (Japanese), Kristi Rothrock (English)
A sharp-tongued hunter with a China theme.

  • Anime Chinese Girl: A major theme as a Hunter. In the manga, her dialogue is translated to have a Chinese dialect.
  • Bigger Is Better in Bed: Ta Chan admits this to be her fetish while under the hypnotic effects of Mr. Y-dan's ability. The Dub has her go so far as to call herself a "size queen".
  • Brutal Honesty: One of Ta Chan's character traits. She's not afraid to speak her mind, no matter the emotional damage she causes.

    Maria
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maria_25.png
Voiced by: Yōko Hikasa (Japanese), Emily Fajardo (English)
A Hunter in a nun's uniform.
  • Cleavage Window: Her nun attire has one that proudly showcases her prominent rack.
  • Naughty Nun: Above trope notwithstanding, her nun outfit is rather risque appearance-wise, which is justified by the fact that Hunter costumes are used to draw customers. In her showdown with Yakyuken Lover, she takes her underwear off first as a strategy that ultimately backfires on her.

    Medoki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/medoki.png
Voiced by: Koudai Sakai (Japanese)
A hunter who also works at a hunter's tool shop.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He's the only inventor amongst the Hunter's Guild and has invented several hunter tools for his shop, such as Vampire Garlic Spray.

    Senya Siriski
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/signa.png
Voiced by: Masaya Onosaka (Japanese), Adin Rudd (English)
A vampire hunter who trains vampires like they were pets.
  • Leatherman: The aesthetic of his outfit. It also plays into his hobby of training vampires.
  • Macho Camp: He's a very muscular hunter who also has some very flamboyant mannerisms.

    Satetsu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/satetsu.png
Voiced by: Yoshimasa Hosoya (Japanese), Alan Adelberg (English)
A big and shy hunter with a robotic arm.
  • Butt-Monkey: Very often becomes one of the first victims of a vampire that can make him do something embarassing like stripping naked or confessing his kinks.
  • Has a Type: Under Mr. Lewd Talk's influence, Draluc pokes him and gets him to confess that he likes strong women who can take charge of him.
  • Nice Guy: He's very soft-spoken and polite even to vampires. He also takes behind-the-scene jobs as a hunter since the others usually don't take "boring" ones.
  • Reformed Criminal: He used to be a delinquent when he was younger, which he is very embarrassed about nowadays. Turns out it was mostly an aesthetic thing and he was never really a troublemaker, he just wanted to look like one.

Autumn Books

    Fukuma
Voiced by: Shun'ichi Toki (Japanese)
An axe-wielding editor in charge of The War Chronicles of Ronaldo.
  • The Dreaded: The entirety of the Ronaldo agency considers him this due to his harsh methods.

    Sanzu
Voiced by: Mariya Ise (Japanese)
A shuriken-toting editor who wants to replace Fukuma as Ronaldo's editor.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: While not exactly in a romantic sense, she's extremely jealous of Fukuma for having the position she's vying for.
  • Fangirl: She's a huge fan of Ronaldo, to the point where it's her reason for being hired at Autumn Books in the first place.

Vampires

    Draus
Voiced by: Show Hayami (Japanese), Mike Pollock (English)
Draluc's father. Due to Ronaldo needing to hide his identity, Draus calls him Paul McCartney.
  • Doting Parent: Loves to spoil his son with gifts and money. He is very happy that Draluc seems to be enjoying himself spending time with others in the city.
  • Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Draluc's family in general doesn't harm humans.
  • Papa Wolf: Draus is very protective of Draluc and spoils him rotten. It's justified as Draluc has been quick to die since he was a child, causing Draus to worry about him constantly well into his adulthood.
  • Vampire Vords: Speaks with a Bela Lugosi accent in the English dub.

    Etiquette Breacher
Voiced by: Soma Saito (Japanese), James Cheek (English)

A mischievous vampire whose main gimmick is breaking the unspoken rules of human society.

  • Poke the Poodle: For all his big talk, what he does with his powers is simply being a public nuisance, such as spraying water on the sandbox in the children's playground, littering, or leaving a half-empty can of juice on a bench's armrest. Satetsu and Draluc are baffled by this, expecting him to be much more devious with his powers.
  • Summon Magic: Has the ability to summon ghouls by his side... but he only uses that power to cause mild trouble.

    Mr. Y-Dan
Voiced by: Kazuhiko Inoue (Japanese), Mick Wingert (English)

A suave-looking vampire with the ability to hypnotize people into saying perverted things. Also known as "Mr. Lewd Talk".

  • Didn't Think This Through: Happily admits this after Draus and Ronaldo defeat Yakyuken Lover and break the Lewd Talk Barrier they have set up.
  • Tongue-Tied: His signature ability is to force people into voicing their inner perverted thoughts whenever they try to speak.

    Maremi
Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa (Japanese), Morgan Garrett (English)

An overweight college student who falls in love with Adam after mistaking a compliment he said to another girl as being directed towards her. After she pushes him out of the way of a truck, he turns her into a vampire to save her life and she revives as a powerful vampire empress.

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Is initially one for Adam.
  • Aren't You Going to Ravish Me?: A vampiric variation. Adam reveals he's a vampire to her in hopes that she would run away in fear. Instead, she insists that Adam drink her blood and turn her into a vampire as well.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: In her dying moments, she revealed to Adam the reason she kept coming after him despite his constant rejections was because he was the first man not to call her ugly.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Upon her transformation into a vampire empress, she ceases being portrayed as a Gonk, instead being portrayed as being much more confident, sultry and attractive.
  • Came Back Strong: Upon being turned into a vampire, she immediately becomes engulfed in power and revives as a powerful vampire empress.
  • Emergency Transformation: She saved Adam by pushing him out of the way of a truck and is hit instead. To save her life, Adam bites her and turns her into a vampire, although no one expected her to become as powerful as she did.
  • Gonk: How she was portrayed prior to her transformation.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: After becoming a vampire empress, she now large and powerful enough to carry Adam in her arms or on her back while flying.

    Adam
Voiced by: Tomohiro Omachi (Japanese), Austin Tindle (English)
