The duo

    Stella Zhau

Stella Zhau

The protagonist of the story. She is a girl from the phillipines who arrived to Royal Woods two months ago, but after saving with a mellowed-out Lincoln, she forms a strong friendship with him and they now face threats against them.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: Stella is more rebellious and tomboyish in this continuity, with her always sneaking around and not conforming for many rules, instead of being a common girl in canon.
  • Adaptational Badass: Stella certainly wasn't a fighter in the priginal show, but this version has an electric bat that can deliver electrified blows.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: Downplayed. She still retains her niceness from canon and interest in technology, but she is more rebellious and secretive here.
  • Adaptational Protagonist: Stella was a mere side character from the original show and mostly appearing in Lincoln-focused episodes. Here, she is the star of this AU, with her moving the plot and sharing the point-of-view with Lincoln, who is a co-protagonist.
  • Adaptational Skill: The story has more emphasis on her tinkering skills here, even managing to create a modified baseball bat and planning to invent more things.
  • Age Lift: Downplayed. She was 12 years old (11 years old before Season 5), in the show, but her age is changed to 13 here.
  • All-Loving Heroine: Downplayed. She isn't a paragon of heroism and virtue, but she absolutely refuses to let other people be bullied and won't hesitate to jump into action.
  • Ascended Extra: Stella is the protagonist from this story rather than being a secondary character.
  • Batter Up!: Stella created a baseball bat with lightning to be used as her weapon.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Before Lincoln can be beaten up by Chandler's lackeys, Stella saves him by knocking Chandler unconscious and dragging Lincoln out of the area.
  • Color Motif: Red and White. She wears a short-sleeved red hoodie with a white star on the center and a white hood, her knee shorts is white with red lining, and her shoes is also white, with red stripes.
  • Composite Character: Due to Clyde not existing in this AU, Stella effectively takes over his role as Lincoln's best friend. Downplayed since she was one of his friends in canon.
  • Cosmic Motifs: Stars. Her name is similar for the word 'star', she has a white star on the center and her weapon has drawing of stars.
  • Electricity Knocks You Out: Stella's electric bat can knocks out her opponents unconscious by hitting them hard enough. This is shown with Chandler.
  • Elemental Motifs: Stella is associated with Lightning due to her inventive skills and she can become cheerful and very active. Her baseball bat can be electrified to defeat her foes.
  • Experienced Protagonist: Stella has already set well in Royal Woods before the syory, having a secret base close to her home and another in the junkyard, making her a more experienced adventurer than Lincoln.
  • Friendless Background: Stella remarked she wanted to make a friend, implying she wasn't popular in her country. Fortunately, she forms a small friendship with Luna and a partnership with Lincoln.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Stella has a secret hideout to work on her inventions in this fanfic, the first thing she created was her signature weapon that can be elctrified.
  • In the Hood: Occasionaly, Stella will put the hood of her hoodie over her head to hide her face and to feel more safe.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Ultimately, Stella is completely in the dark about the situation in Royal Woods, mainly from Lincoln's old family and the drama surrounding Royal Woods.
  • Mood-Swinger: She has a somewhat strange mood since she usually is focused and serious, but then acts overly cheerful when excited for something and during the day, making her not think well and end up in trouble.
  • Nice Girl: She is genuinely a friendly girl who won't hesitate to help other people.
  • Shock and Awe: Stella's weapon can be electrified to deliver powerful attacks to knock opponents unconscious.
  • Sleep Deprivation: Downplayed. Due to the fact Stella explores the city midnight, she can occasionaly fall asleep as shown when she slept on a bench, only to be woken up by Girl Jordan.
  • Sneaking Out at Night: Stella frequently sneaks out to go for her secret hideout at midnight to work on her projects.

    Lincoln

Lincoln Loud

The co-protagonist of the story. He is a boy who returned to Royal Woods after hr was sent for juvie due to unknown reasons, but after being saved by Stella from Chandler and his two lackeys, he forms a strong friendship with her.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: Lincoln in this fanfic is more closed, less afraid of bullies and more willing to fight back.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: While Lincoln and his sisters always had a friendly relationship despite the odds, he is estranged from his original family here. Word of God confirms that they won't reconcile but maybe he can end his relationship with one of them in better terms.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Lincoln is emotionally hollow, closed and more apathetic than his canon self in this universe, lacking his cheerfulness and optimism, and he also calls himself a loser.
  • Adaptation Distillation: Lincoln only retain his liking for comic books, lacking his love for ghost-hunting and magic, and even then he only has a minor liking for superheroes, only being a casual fan nowadays.
  • Adaptational Hairstyle Change: His hair int his version is more massive than the thing hair he had in the original canon, even occasionaly obscuring his eyes, forcing him to move the bangs aside.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Lincoln is a better person in this AU after returning to Royal Woods, no longer coming up with self centered schemes, now wanting to help other people like Stella.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: The worst traits from his original incarnation such as his self-destructive selfishness are gone, with him being shown to be a consistent nice boy.
  • Adaptational Ugliness: Lincoln's hair is more messy and grown here, no long being clean and small.
  • The Atoner: He wants to fix his "mess", according to his own words, before moving away from Royal Woods for good and start anew elsewhere.
  • Became Their Own Antithesis: Assuming his story is similar to his canon self from Season 1, he used to be a cheerful, idealistic, generous yet selfish boy who always did plans that backfired on him but always tried to make up for, but he did something that resulted in him becoming an apathetic, cynical closed but selfless boy who is despised by other people in the town.
  • Color Motif: Orange and black. He wears an orange hoodie with a black hood and sleeves, he has black fingerless gloves with orange lining, black pants and he has two black spades on the front and back of his hoodie.
  • Hated by All: Implied. While we don't see the general opinion of the citizens towards Lincoln, everyone so far (except Stella due to not knowing his past; Liberty and Lucas for trying to be friendly towards him) has been hostile to him, most notable is Cristina and Cookie/Cynthia claiming he is a "delinquent" and "thief", believing he is manipulating Stella.
  • In the Hood: Like Stella, he also occasionaly puts the hood of his hoodie over his head to hide his hair.
  • Knight in Sour Armor: While he is more cynical and don't even attempt to stay hopeful, he still tries to be nice and enjoys his life, even being willing to join Stella in her escapades despite the possibility of ending up in trouble.
  • Noodle Incident: Something that Lincoln did was bad enough for him to be sent into juvie before the events from the story, with him returning in the summer vacation and being estranged from his family. Word of God says that his selfishness went too far.
  • Pipe Pain: By the end of the first chapter, Lincoln has a L-shaped pipe as a gift from Lucy due to her thinking this type of weapon fits him.
  • Playing Card Motifs: Lincoln has spade symbols on the front and back of his pocketless orange hoodie.

Allies & Supporting Characters

    Liberty

Liberty Leal

The deuteragonist from the story. She is Lincoln's sarcastic cousin who is the sole daughter of Lucas.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Liberty like to give sarcastic remarks to other people, but even she recognizes when she goes to far.
  • Everybody Has Standards: While Liberty is a snarky Jerk with a Heart of Gold who always makes jokes at the expense of others, she recognized she went too far by insulting Stella and wants to apologize to her.
  • Gamer Chick: She has a Nintendo Switch in the living room, with her claiming she likes to play into it.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She isn't the most nice person around as shown when she dismissed Stella, but she is still a good person at heart.
  • Missing Mom: She only has her father and her mother wasn't shown to be present in her life.
  • Not So Above It All: Even she is happy at the news of Summer vacation being extended for one more month.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: She acts dismissively and even somewhat rude to strangers such as Stella, but with her loved ones, she acts playful and friendly towards them.

    Luna

Luna Loud

The tritagonist from the story. She is a musical teen and the leader from her personal band.
  • Nice Girl: She is generally pleasant and helped Stella when she fell from a tree.

Minor Characters & Side Cast

    Lucas Leal
A man who returned to Royal Woods with Lincoln.
  • Good Parents: He is a caring and helpful father and uncle to Liberty and Lincoln, but he is willing to put his foot down.

    Girl Jordan
A girl apparently popular at the school who took an interest in trees.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Downplayed. While this version lacks most of her negative qualities from canon, she can be pissed off if you push her buttons too far.
  • Berserk Button: She felt personally offended when Stella implied she was only interested in dodgeball when she was planting trees, but she calms down and apologizes for her outburst.

Antagonists

    Chandler

Chandler McCann

A local boy who tried to "finish" Lincoln off. He now wants to get revenge against Stella for defeating him.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Chandler was a brat in canon, sure, but he is made into a bully who outright ordered his two lackeys to "finish" Lincoln off.
  • Evil Redhead: He is a bratty redhead and a bully who ordered his lackeys to attack Lincoln.
  • No-Sell: He didn't feel affected when a projectile from a slingshot hitted his forehead.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Rather than being glad Jess and Henry care for him, he decided to lash out at them when he saw Lincoln and Stella escaped from their clutches.

    Cristina

Cristina

A girl who saw that Lincoln returned to the town and is planning to expose his sisters.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • She and Lincoln didn't interact much in the oeigibal show, but their relationship was over after the video he posted. In this universe, Cristina clearly hates him and his sisters, claiming they are a danger for the town.
    • She and Cynthianote  never interacted in the original show, but they are allies in this AU.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: We didn't see mich of her in the original show, but she was never shown to cuss and hold resentment towards someone for so long. Justified since events similar to "Making the Case" still happened in this universe.
  • Adaptational Villainy: She was merely a girl who had right reasons to take Lincoln out of her life, but wasn't so antagonistic behind that. However, in this AU, she is a resentful girl who is planning to ruin him and his estranged sisters' life.
  • Anti-Villain: She isn't really evil and malicious, she's just want to prptect the city and is extreme.
  • Ascended Extra: Gone from a minor character who only appeared in some episodes to one of the antagonists from the fanfic.
  • The Resenter: It is clear she don't think very high of Lincoln due to a "video incident" and for him being a delinquent and a "thief".

    Cookie

Cynthia

Cristina's friend and partner who joined her plot against the Loud Siblings.
