The Super 4
The main characters
- Gender-Equal Ensemble: They are this if you only count the humanoids.
- True Companions: They care a lot about each other, usually get along very well, and are particularly effective at working together.
- Two Girls to a Team: Twinkle and Ruby.
Gene (Agent Gene #120452)
Voiced by: Jordan Carlos (Series 1), Kevin T. Collins (Series 2) (English), Franck Lorrain (French), Rasmus Borowski (German)
- The Comically Serious: Although he is not above the occasional snark or partaking in an "Everybody Laughs" Ending, Gene is usually reacting very seriously to whatever happens around them.
- Flat-Earth Atheist: A Running Gag is that he does not want to accept the existence of magic, despite one of his companions being a fairy who regularly casts spells in his presence, for which he always insists that there is a rational explanation.
- Insufferable Genius: Less so than Dr. X but Gene also likes to throw his intellectual weight around. In "Super Gene", he says he has an IQ of 180.
- Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: He likes to use scientific terms to describe everyday objects. The other characters comment on it.
- The Smart Guy: Gene comes from a technological society and is the most intelligent member of the team, often giving scientific explanations to the problems they encounter (except when magic is involved). He is also developing all sorts of gadgets.
- Token Minority: The only dark-skinned humanoid in the team.
Alex (Prince Alexander)
Voiced by: Billy Bob Thompson (English), Damien Ferrette (French), Jannik Endemann (German)
The prince of Kingsland who acts like the leader- Leader Wannabe: His bravado would convince you he's the leader of the 4. He isn't; they're actually equals, but Gene acts the most like a nominal leader, being the most capable member.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: He's out with the Super 4, adventuring and saving the world, while his family are at home, ruling the kingdom.
Ruby the Red
Voiced by: Veronica Taylor (English), Laetita Lefebvre (French)
A girl adopted by pirates and lived on Gunpowder Island- Deadpan Snarker: The one who's definitely the most prone to snarking, aside from Gene.
- Doorstop Baby/Moses in the Bulrushes: She was found in a basket floating on the sea and was adopted.
- Happily Adopted: The pirate Ruebens left piracy and became a cook to take care of her. They both care a lot about each other.
- It's All About Me: Ruby can be very self-centered, which is justified due to her being a pirate.
- Meaningful Name: She does wear a lot of red.
- Parental Abandonment: It's not said what happened to her biological parents.
- Pirate Girl: She's the only example that we see. It is a plot point that the other pirates (especially Sharkbeard) don't think that women can be pirates.
Twinkle Starglitter
Voiced by: Sarah Natochenny (English), Annouck Hautbois (French), Tanja Dohse (German)
A fairy who turned the queen of the Enchanted Island into a frog and got banished.- Accidental Misnaming: She gets the Sykronians' name wrong most of the time, calling them Krokronians or various similar alterations instead.
- Beware the Nice Ones: She is the most kindhearted of the four, but when she does get angry (usually when her friends are threatened) she tends to show the most competence and creativity in using her magic.
- Cloud Cuckoo Lander: She sometimes displays a particularly personal brand of logic.
- Friend to All Living Things: She is very kind to all creatures, and will first consider non-violent approaches to tackle an issue. For instance, she thinks that a dragon is angry because it has not received enough kisses...
- Inept Mage: Downplayed. Her spells sometimes misfire, and she occasionally complains that she's not good at magic, but she also shows impressive bouts of competence at times.
- Obliviously Evil: When she becomes an antagonist in "Twinkle, Queen of the Pirates" due to Sharkbeard manipulating her to think she's a pirate, she doesn't realize she's being an antagonist until his manipulations are revealed.
- You Can't Go Home Again: She was exiled after her spell turned the Queen into a frog.
Alien
A Furio alien from the Lost World.- A Dog Named "Dog": The characters just name him what he is.
- Evil-Detecting Dog: He is usually able to sense when a character is up to no good well in advance of the human characters. However, since he can't speak, they don't always understand him before it's too late.
- Hell Is That Noise: His singing.
- Team Pet: He plays this role.
Technopolis
Doctor X
Voiced by: Jason Griffith (English), Vincent Violette (French)
The head scientist of Technopolis.- Glory Hound: Most of what he does is fuelled by his desire to be recognised as the greatest scientist in Technopolis.

King Kendrick
Voiced by: Mike Pollock (English)
The king of Kingsland.- Create Your Own Villain: In the fashion that Baba Cara happens to be a Maleficent expy, Baba Cara wants revenge on Leonora because Kendrick forgot to invite Baba to Leonora's first birthday party. Well, not really. Actually, it was for Alex's birthday, meaning Baba Cara actually goes for the king on his birthday.
- The Good King: He tries to be.
- Horrible Judge of Character: He almost loses his throne to this.
Princess Leonora
Voiced by: Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld (English)
Alex's Sister- Flat Character: Started off as this in first appearance. She's rounded by her next appearance.

- Fat Bastard: He's a villain and rather portly
- Demoted to Extra: In Season 2, as he's more of a neutral character
- Straw Misogynist: Apparently, this is the reason he doesn't like Ruby, as, to him, females are bad luck.
- Vague Age: He's apparently the "age of a captain"note .
Enchanted Island
The Fairy Queen
Voiced by: Veronica Taylor (English)
The queen of the fairies that Twinkle accidentally turned into a frog.- Berserk Button: Besides being turned into a frog, one episode states that she can't stand ginger, mint, and cinnamon.
- Bewitched Amphibians: Got turned into a frog by Twinkle accidentally. Often tries (or tried) to turn back to normal.
- Everyone Calls Her "Barkeep": She's called, well, the Queen, so we don't know her real name.
- Jerkass: To Twinkle, anyway, especially since she refused to allow Twinkle back onto the Enchanted Island, even when the latter turned her back to normal.
- Laser-Guided Karma: After Twinkle turned her back into a fairy, she, still holding a grudge, tried to turn the former into a frog but her spell bounced off of a mirror, turning her back into frog.
- Ungrateful Bitch: After Twinkle turned her back into a fairy, her first order of business was to try to turn Twinkle into a frog. Then there's also the fact that she didn't lift her banishment on Twinkle either.
Baba Cara
Voiced by: Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld (English)
An evil witch.- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Apparently, she thinks Alex is handsome. Too bad she's still evil and antagonizes him regardless.
- Expy: Of Maleficent, appearance-wise
- Foil: To the Fairy Queen, in the sense that, while the former is a Jerkass, she's not evil.

- Lethally Stupid:A few episodes are kicked off by his klutziness than anything
- Nice Guy: To a degree, considering he's not openly antagonistic with anyone
- Odd Friendship: With Franz and Twinkle, mostly
