Takigakure

    Fu

Fu

Taki's jinchuriki, who carries Chomei.

  • Afraid of Their Own Strength: She ends up losing control of her Tailed Beast during her fight against Gaara in the Chunin Exams after drinking the Hero Water Shibuki gave her. While Gaara managed to knock her out before she could hurt anyone, the fact that things could have gone horribly wrong scares her off using any of her Tailed Beast's powers beyond basic flight for the next three years, even when she finds herself in a life or death fight against Akatsuki.
  • Animorphism: As Chomei's jinchuriki, she can grow beetle wings on her back. This later extends to shift her limbs into or simply growing insect body parts like claws and horns on her body (plus a scorpion's pincer at one point) once she successfully tames Chomei.
  • Ascended Extra: Becomes a major character during the Chunin exams, and after the Taki invasion remains as part of the core cast.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Due to her strength, Shibuki stepped down and appointed her as the new head of the village at some point after the Fourth Ninja War (though it's mentioned that he still handles the administrative aspects of the job).
  • Big Little Brother: Of the Like Brother and Sister variety. She declares Naruto to be her little brother despite him being several months older than her due to her towering over him.
  • Can't Stay Normal: Chomei is willingly resealed in her at the end of the story, making her one of only four remaining jinchuriki in the epilogue (along with Naruto, Killer Bee, and Yugito).
  • Conveniently an Orphan: Both of her parents were killed in a skirmish with Iwa. Her lack of an immediate family was part of the reason why she was chosen to be Chomei's jinchuriki.
  • Cover-Blowing Superpower: She publicly outs herself as a jinchuriki when she ends up manifesting a chakra cloak during her fight against Gaara.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: She manages to use her Super-Strength to stop Hashirama's Thousand Armed Kan'on from moving (if only temporarily), a feat no one had ever achieved before.
  • Friendless Background: It's mentioned during the Invasion of Takigakure arc that she didn't have any friends before meeting the animal squad.
  • Genki Girl: She is very high energy and almost always cheerful. This, combined with her jinchuriki status, made it difficult for her to make friends back in Takigakure.
  • Healing Factor: If someone manages to rip off her wings, she can regrow them after a night of sleep.
  • Honorary Aunt: The epilogue implies that she fills this role for Naruto and Hinata's children as well as Kiba and Tamaki's daughter. She's notably upset when she's informed that Boruto is away on a mission while she's in the village for the Ninja Summit.
  • It's Personal: She openly announces to an entire stadium full of people her desire to beat Gaara in the Chunin Exam Finals so she can avenge Shino's loss in the preliminaries.
  • Like Brother and Sister: She's quite happy to learn that Naruto views her as a sister while they're undergoing their jinchuriki training.
  • Long-Distance Relationship: She lives in Takigakure and her boyfriend Shino lives in Konoha, though she later moves in to his clan compound after Akatsuki's attack on Takigakure due to Shibuki feeling she'd be safer in Konoha.
  • Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex: Discussed when Naruto witnesses her stop the First Hokage's most powerful jutsu with her Super-Strength and comments that Shino will be his hero if he survives their honeymoon. The epilogue mentions that he did manage to survive without any broken bones, though he was walking with a limp for the next few weeks.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Zigzagged. During Part I, she's short and scrawny, yet she exhibits a degree of Super-Strength and Super-Toughness leagues above that of her peers and on par with Kage-level powerhouses like A or Tsunade. While she does develop an Amazonian Beauty physique after the timeskip, it's later revealed to be a side effect of having Chomei sealed inside her for her entire life (similar to how beetles and other bugs in real life are able to lift weights several times above their own).
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Her reaction to learning about the Forest of Death is to say that it sounds like a great place to take Shino on a date.
  • Non-Human Lover Reveal: Downplayed. Shino doesn't find out that she's a jinchuriki until the day before they started dating. He doesn't react beyond thinking that it's "an interesting turn of events" since having known that Naruto was also a jinchuriki for pretty much his entire life has left him Fantastically Indifferent.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Downplayed. While she isn't exactly a genius, she likes to pretend to be dumber than she actually is just to mess with people.
  • One-Steve Limit: She shares her name with one of Danzo's bodyguards, though his name is spelt as "Fuu" in order to distinguish between the two.
  • Phrase Catcher: "What the hell do they feed you?", usually said when she shrugs off a beating or shows off her Super-Strength. She even lampshades it when Gaara doesn't say it during their match.
  • Promoted to Love Interest: To Shino Aburame.
  • She Is All Grown Up: Puberty was very kind to her. She goes from a scrawny little kid to a Statuesque Amazonian Beauty.
  • Siblings Wanted: When Naruto admits that he's started to view her as a sister, she happily proclaims that she's always wanted a little brother... to torment.
(while giving him a noogie) Feel my sisterly love!
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon, she was captured and killed by Akatsuki after her tailed beast was extracted. Here she escapes that fate and continues to survive until the Fourth Ninja War.
  • Statuesque Stunner: she's noted to be taller than Kakashi post-Time Skip.
  • Strong Girl, Smart Guy: The strong girl to Shino's smart guy. While she is nowhere near as dumb as she pretends to be, she's an overly excitable Amazonian Beauty with Super-Strength on par with Tsunade who mostly fights in close combat (even if she's no stranger to ninjutsu).
  • Super Mode: In addition to the traditional jinchuriki transformations, she received Sage Mode training from Naruto.
  • Super-Strength: As the jinchuriki of Chomei, she has a Spider-Man-esque proportional strength of a beetle. Exaggerated when she learns to use Sage Mode from Naruto, which multiplies it even further.
  • Telephone Polearm: Her weapon is a felled tree trunk that she affectionately refers to as "Arbor-chan".
  • Tough Beetles: Fu has had Seven-Tailed Beetle sealed within her since she was a young girl. As a result, she is physically stronger and tougher than her peers to an almost absurd degree in spite of her (initially) unimposing physique.

    Shibuki

Shibuki

The current head of Takigakure.

  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Both of his attempts to keep Fu safe during the Chunin Exams end up backfiring on him:
    • He has two jonin masquerade as her teammates so she'll have guards at all times. Jiraiya easily figures it out and proceeds to force him into a hilariously one sided treaty as compensation for trying to pull a fast one on him.
    • He gives her a vial of the Hero Water for an emergency, which she ends up drinking during her fight with Gaara. It causes Chomei to go on a rampage, which not only outs her identity, but could have caused mass death and property damage had Gaara not knocked her out right afterwards.
  • Parental Substitute: To Fu.
  • Staking the Loved One: Ends up facing off against his revived father during the Fourth Ninja War.

    The Next Generation (Epilogue Spoilers)

Daisuke and Sawako Aburame

Shino and Fu's children. Daisuki is the elder of the two by three years.

  • Fan-Created Offspring: Their parents never met in canon, and their mother was killed by Akatsuki.
  • Lamarck Was Right: Downplayed. Their mother being a jinchuriki somehow gave them a new Bloodline Limit, though it's implied that their father's genes played a part as well.
  • Winged Humanoid: Thanks to their mother being Chomei's jinchuriki (and probably their father's Aburame genes) they're able to grow insect wings from their backs that allow them to fly.

Amegakure

    Hanzo of the Salamander

Hanzo of the Salamander

The former leader of Amegakure, and the one who gave the Sannin their title. He was killed off by Nagato in revenge many years ago.

  • Back from the Dead: Like in canon, he's brought back as part of the Edo Tensei army.
  • Hypocrite: He constantly talks about honor, yet is not above using underhanded tactics to take out his foes (like luring the original Akatsuki into an ambush under the guise of peaceful negotiations).
  • Last Request: Before being sealed, he asks for Konan to make sure that Amegakure stays strong and never gets stomped on by any other ninja village. Konan assures him that she will.
