Hotel Eterna

    Aluche Anatoria
Voiced by: Sayaka Senbongi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aluche_cg.png
The protagonist of the game. She is a newly ranked Knight of the Curia who has been tasked with escorting the Bride of Time to be sacrificed to the Moon Queen to stop the Night. During the prologue, she is killed by the Moon Queen but was brought back to life by Camilla as a half-demon. She then makes it her personal mission to reunite with her friends and defeat the Moon Queen without having to sacrifice the Bride of Time.
  • Affectionate Nickname: People close to her call her "Al".
  • Alliterative Name: Aluche Anatoria
  • Back from the Dead: Within the first 15 minutes of the game, no less, thanks to Camilla turning her into a half-demon.
  • Book Dumb: Aluche's intelligence, or her lack thereof, is often Played for Laughs in the game. Former student council president Muveil also outright tells Aluche in one late-game Lily quest that Aluche had the lowest marks in the entrance exam to Espheria Academy.
  • Bridal Carry: Is both the one carrying and the one being carried, depending on who the partner is on the battlefield.
  • Chick Magnet: There's at least four people who have strong feelings for her. Even the Big Bad wants her, though only because Aluche looks like her former lover.
  • Dual Wielding: In her burst with Arnice, the latter lends her BFS to Aluche, which she uses both Arnice's and her weapons to strike her enemies.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Only one of her legs has a thigh-high stocking and a knife strapped to it.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Much like Arnice. However, unlike Arnice, Aluche starts out the game as a full-blooded human and doesn't become a half-demon until after she's killed by the Moon Queen and brought back to life by Camilla.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Her starting weapon is a sword.
  • Heroic RRoD: She's not used to her new body which is why she's required to rest for one day after a trip. Justified as unlike Arnice who has gotten used to her body for a long time, Aluche only has had her body for a few days.
  • Identical Stranger: There's a painting of a woman in the Moon Palace that looks a lot like her. The woman in the painting turns out to be Alstromeria.
  • Idiot Hero: Downplayed as Aluche isn't completely dumb and is actually a skilled warrior as well as insightful. However, she has no aptitude for school and thus struggled in class during her school days.
  • The Hero Dies: The default ending has her dying after Rue uses the fail safe device that Camilla gives her.
  • Killed Off for Real: In the default ending, Aluche plays right into the Moon Queen's hands and is then absorbed by the Moon Queen as the Bride of the New Moon. This forces Ruenheid to use the failsafe that Dr. Camilla gave her beforehand in order to stop the newly formed New Moon Queen, killing both Malvasia and Aluche at once.
  • Modesty Bedsheet: An early chapter in the game shows that she sleeps naked with her bedsheet preventing anything from being shown.
  • Multi-Melee Master: Even more so than Arnice in the first game as all of the weapons that she can use are all melee weapons.
  • Naked First Impression: The first chapter of the prequel manga has Aluche naked in bed while both Liliana and Rue waking her up. Rue blushes at her.
  • Oblivious to Love: Ruenheid, Eleanor, Camilla, and Muveil have all shown interest in Aluche. She doesn't notice any of them due to her already being in love with Liliana.
  • Official Couple: Aluche ultimately ends up with Liliana at the end of the game. The Collection feature that details all the characters and plot-important items even calls the two of them lovers.
  • Our Hero Is Dead: Within the first thirty minutes of the game, Aluche is impaled by the Big Bad right away and is only revived thanks to Camilla, who transforms her into a half-human, half-demon.
  • Protagonist Title: The titular Bride of the New Moon is Aluche herself due to being an Identical Stranger to Alstromeria. Malvasia plans to fuse with Aluche in order to become the New Moon Queen, after which Malvasia will then take Liliana's powers as the Bride of Time in order to bring about the Night again.
  • Red Is Heroic: Her prominent hair and scarf are red.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: Wears a prominent scarf.
  • Sleeps in the Nude: Several cutscenes make it clear she does this.
  • Stripperific: Barely wears anything as her clothes somehow manages to combine Underboobs, and Sexy Backless Outfit all in one. The wedding dress-themed outfit she wears in the maintenance room is even more revealing, as it is skintight and transparent apart from a few select areas (notably the nipples and crotch).
  • Stupid Sexy Flanders: Is very impressed at Camilla's body when she starts examining her that her heart starts pounding, making her clutch it. Camilla figures out immediately that she's turned on but not why, which makes Aluche scream and run away in embarrassment.
  • Thanks for the Mammaries: In the prequel manga, she gets this from Rue who is afraid of ghosts.

    Liliana Selphin
Voiced by: Ai Kayano
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/liliana_artwork.png
One of Aluche's two childhood friends and, like Aluche, is also a member of the Curia. She is chosen by the three Popes of the Curia to become the next Bride of Time to seal away the Moon Queen.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Both Aluche and Ruenheid sometimes refer to her as "Lilia".
  • Childhood Friend: She's this along with Aluche and Ruenheid.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Liliana ultimately ends up with Aluche at the end of the game, with the in-game descriptions even calling the two of them "lovers".
  • Heroic Sacrifice: In order to stop the Night from spreading for good, Liliana performs one with Aluche, stopping time for both of them and Malvasia for eternity.
  • Official Couple: Liliana and Aluche end up together by the end of the game in the true ending.
  • Time Master: Her powers allow her to control time, namely of the Time Stands Still variety. This is revealed to be her status for the entire game as after Aluche was killed, Liliana was knocked unconscious and the Moon Queen kidnapped her. When she came to, the Night was already spreading so in order to stop it, she uses her powers to delay the spread of the Night. This leaves her weakened and dying until Aluche helps her out at the end of the game.
  • Together in Death: Although they don't die, this is her ultimate fate along with Aluche at the end of the true ending as both of them decide to freeze themselves in time along with Malvasia to stop the Night. As the in-game Collection feature notes, "the two lovers embraced each other for eternity" after this.
  • Victorious Childhood Friend: She's the one that ultimately ends up with Aluche.

    Ruenheid Ariarhod
Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ruenheid_artwork.png
One of Aluche's two childhood friends and a member of the Lourdes Order. Much like Aluche, she seeks to protect the Bride of Time from being sacrificed to the Moon Queen.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Aluche and Liliana both call her "Rue" at times.
  • BFS: Wields one.
  • Childhood Friend: She's this with both Aluche and Liliana.
  • The Ojou: Aluche notes that Ruenheid is a rich girl when Al points out that the hotel they're staying has a pool.
  • Take Up My Sword: After the conclusion of her final Lily quest, Aluche gives Ruenheid her old sword as a memento of the promise they made to each other. In the true ending, she continues to fight with the Lourdes Order in honor of Aluche and Liliana's memories, expressing hope that she'll be able to see them again someday.
  • Tsundere: She's a Type A towards Aluche, albeit not an extreme case.
  • Unlucky Childhood Friend: The game makes it clear that Ruenheid has feelings for Aluche. Unfortunately for Ruenheid, Aluche is already in love with Liliana.
  • Weight Woe: She repeatedly mentions being on a diet, and quite a few of her character-specific sidequests involve Aluche helping her exercise by fighting fiends.

    Dr. Camilla Alucard
Voiced by: Hibiku Yamamura
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/camilla_artwork.png
A scientist working for the Curia. Her research on the Blue Blood is the most advanced in the world. When the fiends attacked the capital city of Eurulm, her knowledge of them allowed humanity to move the capital. Her knowledge of the Blue Blood allows her to bring Aluche back to life by turning the latter into a half-demon.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: She seems to fall for Aluche over the course of the game. Unfortunately for Camilla, Aluche is already in love with Liliana.
  • Back from the Dead: Not her but it's thanks to her that Aluche was brought back to life after the latter was killed by Malvasia during the prologue of the game.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She has a rather dry wit, especially when it comes to Aluche's Idiot Hero tendencies.
  • Defector from Decadence: She's actually been a mole for The Lourdes Order for some time, and even helped Lady Loergwlith establish the order in the first place.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She's rather distant and impersonal in the beginning. Thanks to Aluche, she loosens up and becomes friendlier.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Her swimsuit. It has a sideways triangle look going for it.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Camilla's main combat style is to provide support from afar with her guns.
  • The Mole: One of her later side quests reveals that Camilla has been acting as an inside informant for Lady Loergwlith for some time.
  • My Greatest Failure:
    • Before Aluche, Muveil was the first one that Camilla turned into a half-demon. Unfortunately, Muveil eventually became a pure-blooded demon thanks to Vallderossa's machinations. She apologizes to Muveil for the pain she's caused after the latter was saved by Aluche, for which Muveil forgives her.
    • The default ending has her crying due to not being able to save Aluche.
  • The Spock: She is analytical and tends to look more into rational ways of solving a problem. She later moves out of this due to Aluche's influence.

    Veruschka
Voiced by: Miyu Tomita
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/veruschka_artwork.png
An artificial, apparently emotionless half-demon working for the Lourdes Order. She initially clashes blades with Aluche but later becomes one of her most trusted allies.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: According to Veruschka, she never knew her parents. She was also taken from her orphanage at a very young age and was experimented on and transformed into a half-demon by the people that took her in.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Due to her status as an Emotionless Girl, she comes off as cold and aloof early on in the game. Her Lily quests have has her becoming warmer and more receptive to everyone else thanks to Aluche's influence.
  • Emotionless Girl: How she initially was because of her rough childhood. She eventually moves out of this after some Character Development thanks to Aluche's influence.
  • Friendless Background: As an assassin who has had a troubled childhood and a sense of self-worth no better than a tool's, she regards things like friendship and feelings as alien. Seeing as Aluche can't leave such people alone, Veruschka's quests are all about subverting this.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Much like Aluche, she's also an artificial half-demon.
  • No Social Skills: Refers to Aluche as "Half Demon", doesn't understand the concept of fun, doesn't know what a pool is and then considers stripping naked to swim faster, and asks to be "childhood friends" with Aluche, Ruenheid and Liliana, in spite of all of them being well past childhood.
  • When She Smiles: Veruschka never smiled prior to meeting Aluche due to being an Emotionless Girl. After meeting Aluche and spending time with her, Veruschka begins to learn how to smile and when she does, it's adorable.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: Thanks to the rough methods used to transform Veruschka into a half-demon, her body can't handle the stress and as a result, her cells are slowly dying one by one. Veruschka doesn't mind at first but with Aluche's influence, she begins to defy her fate and wants to stay alive so she can be by Aluche's side.

    Eleanor Ernest
Voiced by: Aimi Tanaka
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eleanor_artwork.png
A traveling chocolatier, she roams the world in order to better her skills as well as to create what she calls the "Ultimate Chocolate".
  • Precocious Crush: It's heavily implied that she develops one towards Aluche. Her final Lily quest even takes place on Valentine's Day and has her making Valentine's chocolate for Aluche.
  • Supreme Chef: One of the world's best chocolatiers, and most of her relationship level up quests involve her efforts to become even better.
  • Token Mini-Moe: She's the youngest of the Hotel Eterna inhabitants.

    Muveil Foulin Lou
Voiced by: Nozomi Furuki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/muveil_artwork.png
Aluche's former upperclassman and old Student Council President at Espheria Imperial Academy. She was a former member of the Curia before she became a pure-blooded demon.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Both on the receiving end and the giving end. There's certainly enough evidence that Muveil also has feelings for Aluche that goes beyond a senpai/kohai relationship but unfortunately for her, Aluche is already in love with Liliana. Meanwhile, a female fiend is also implied to be in love with Muveil but the latter doesn't seem to notice.
  • Blood Knight: She enjoys fighting. This gets to the point that she's absolutely giddy that Arnice joins the team because that means that Muveil can challenge the Nightlord to a fight.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Underwent this some time before the game started, although not of her own volition. She eventually manages to pull a Heel–Face Turn thanks to Aluche.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Her swimsuit actually leaves one of her breasts completely bare. However, it has a large tuft of feathers surrounded by scar tissue on it.
  • Loss of Identity: Her working for Vallderossa is revealed due to her losing her memories of when she was a human. Aluche manages to save her by absorbing her Blue Blood, allowing her to regain her memories.
  • Stripperiffic: While none of the swimsuits worn by the girls are particularly modest, hers probably takes the cake by leaving one of her breasts totally exposed and having the bottoms look somewhat shredded.
  • Student Council President: She used to be one during her academy days.
  • The Rival: To Aluche. Muveil constantly works to make herself stronger so she can challenge Aluche to a rematch.

The Lourdes Order

    Lady Loergwlith
Voiced by: Chie Matsuura
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rogerdilis_cg.png
The Leader of the Lourdes Order, a woman who can see the future, and into people's hearts.
  • Big Good: Takes this role for the game, being the one trying to stop the Curia from sacrificing Liliana, which she believes will actually doom the world, rather than save it.
  • Blind Seer: Wears a blindfold and can see the course future events will take.
  • Defector from Decadence: She originally served the Curia, but split off to form her own order after having enough of the Curia's reliance on Human Sacrifice.

The Curia

    The Popes
The Leaders of the Curia. They are the ones that task Aluche with protecting Liliana until the time is right to sacrifice her to stop the Night's arrival.
  • Jerkass: All three of them are this, showing blatant disregard for the lives of their agents, going so far as to willingly offer Liliana up as a sacrifice to Malvasia. Also made even more evident in the ending where Aluche dies when one of them asks why Camilla was crying, despite knowing that Aluche had to perish in order to stop Malvasia.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: Between this game and the first one, it seems like sacrificing a young maiden is the Curia's go-to solution for every problem.
  • Karma Houdini: While their original plans were ultimately derailed due to their agents coming up with another way to stop the Moon Queen, they don't get any comeuppance for their sheer jackass-ery in the game.

Villains

    The Moon Queen, Malvasia
Voiced by: Yu Shimamura
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/malvasia_cg1.jpg
The Big Bad of the game. She is a cold and near-emotionless demon, set on bringing suffering and despair to her enemies. Much like the Nightlord of old, she plans on bringing about the Eternal Night in order to have her revenge on humanity for something that happened to her in the past.
  • Back from the Dead: Demons are indestructible creatures that can't be permanently killed. As such, she comes back to life after Alstromeria strikes her down in her backstory just in time to see that her lover has been Driven to Suicide.
  • Big Bad: Of the game. Her plans to bring about the Eternal Night makes her the main threat that must be dealt with.
  • Hero Killer: She kills Aluche with no effort at all during the prologue of the game.
  • Humans Are Bastards: She has this viewpoint after they drove Alstromeria to despair and later suicide, and after the Curia tortured and experimented on her in their labs. As a result, she wants to bring about the Night in order to punish humanity.
  • I Have Your Wife: While the characters in question aren't married, Malvasia pulls this on Arnice when she kidnaps Lilysse in order to force Arnice to surrender. It works for some time but Lilysse eventually escapes from being her captive and manages to go into hiding, forcing Malvasia to lie to Arnice by saying that Lilysse has already been killed in order to bring Arnice to despair.
  • Leave Me Alone!: What her Literal Split Personality basically tells Aluche in the Time Drifts Through the Moonlit Night expansion because of her mistaking Aluche for another human that wants to drive her and Alstromeria apart.
  • Literal Split Personality: Revealed to be the case in the Time Drifts Through the Moonlit Night expansion when it's explained that Alstromeria accidentally separated Malvasia's emotions (which took on a form of its own) from Malvasia's being, turning her into the cold and ruthless individual that she is in the game.
  • Love Hurts: The main reason that she became the way she did is because of this. She and Alstromeria deeply loved each other but humanity did not tolerate the relationship between a demon and a human. This got to the point that Alstromeria could no longer stand the abuse and decided to try and commit a murder-suicide in order for her and Malvasia to be Together in Death but that attempt failed. When Malvasia comes back from being killed by Alstromeria, she finds that Alstromeria has hanged herself due to the grief the latter felt. This helps leads to Malvasia becoming determined to destroy the world.
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: Malvasia wasn't evil back then and was content to simply live in peace with her lover, Alstromeria. According to Arnice, Malvasia used to love humanity despite all the pain they've caused her due to their experiments. However, after humanity drove Alstromeria to despair and later suicide, followed by the Curia capturing, torturing, and experimenting on her in the Beatria Laboratory, Malvasia decided then that she would become the very thing that humanity thought of her: an evil demon. Although the Time Drifts Through the Moonlit Night expansion reveals that this is a result of Alstromeria accidentally causing a Literal Split Personality situation: the Malvasia in the main game does not have her heart nor her emotions, while the Malvasia in the Floating Fortress embodies Malvasia's emotions and memories of the past.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Despite her ruthlessness, it's hard not to feel sorry for her after learning of her backstory from Christophorus.

    Vallderossa
Voiced by: Chiaki Takahashi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/valderotha_cg.png
A pureblooded demon resembling a spider whom serves under the Moon Queen. She is a sadistic demon, taking pleasure in torturing others and the people they care about.

  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: She's a spider demon and she can change between a humanoid form and a spider form.
  • Death Equals Redemption: As she lays dying, she is moved by Aluche's words and tells her to save Malvasia from her pain before she passes on.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Her specialty is making people cross this. She made Muveil cross this some time in the past, leaving Muveil to have a bout of Loss of Identity. She also plans to make Aluche and Ruenheid cross this so that the former would be the perfect candidate as Malvasia's Bride of the New Moon, and the latter would succumb to becoming a demon if she kills Aluche. It's also revealed that Vallderossa herself crossed this some time ago when she reveals that humanity's hatred of demons led to Malvasia becoming the way she is.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: When she kidnaps Ruenheid and tortures her at the Eclipse Palace, Vallderossa's dialogue is peppered with double meanings as well as other undertones.
  • The Dragon : She is Malvasia's right-hand. She is tasked by Malvasia to torture Aluche mentally.
  • I Have You Now, My Pretty: After she kidnaps Ruenheid, Vallderossa engages in this with her, stroking her face and all while also torturing her.
  • Sadist: She loves making others suffer.
  • Shipper on Deck: The Time Drifts Through the Moonlit Night expansion reveals that she is one for Malvasia and Alstromeria. This gets to the point that during Vallderossa's temporary death (demons cannot be permanently killed), she has a talk with Alstromeria's specter and rips into her for betraying Malvasia as well as for not talking to Malvasia despite being able to.
  • Undying Loyalty: She's been serving Malvasia for a long time, and Vallderossa's been at her side even back when Alstromeria was still alive. If Arnice is brought along during the fight against Vallderossa in the Eclipse Palace, Arnice will say that the Malvasia that Vallderossa once served is long gone as the current Malvasia no longer loves humanity after Alstromeria's demise changed her.

    Joe
Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/enemy2_38.jpg
  • Bullfight Boss: The main gimmick during his fight is to get him to crash through barrels of oil so he can be set on fire for massive damage.

    David
Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hqdefault_251.jpg
  • Large Ham: David is bombastic and is definitely eager to chew up the scenery during the fight against him.
  • Puzzle Boss: Barely, all that is required to beat him is to redirect a beam with some mirrors to destroy his barriers while he does absolutely nothing, this blows his head off and turns him into...
  • Zero-Effort Boss: After his head gets knocked off, he just floats around and still doesn't attack, leaving you free to swing away at him, the only challenge to the fight is that hitting him makes his head fly away, but even that can be negated by maneuvering him into a corner.

Others

    Christophorus
Voiced by: Tomoyo Kurosawa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3f3f3f3f3f3f3f_5.png
A pure-blooded demon that Aluche meets early on in the game, in the abandoned city of Eurulm. Much like Aluche, Christophorus is also looking for someone important to her.

  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Despite being a powerful pure-blooded demon, Chris knows when she's outmatched. As such, she immediately turns tail and runs away when Arnice reappears in Eurulm. This is justified as by this point, Arnice is the Nightlord, the strongest demon around.
  • Shipper on Deck: Even decades later, Chris still ships Arnice and Lilysse together, telling their story to Aluche with a mixed tone of fondness and sadness. In fact, this is the reason that Chris implores Aluche to find any evidence of Lilysse's survival in order to snap Arnice out of her rampage and Loss of Identity.
  • Split Personality: Much like in the first game, Chris switches between being childish and upbeat, and being morose on a dime.
  • Sweet Tooth: Chris absolutely loves Eleanor's chocolates, as do a lot of other demons; in fact, Eleanor just giving her a bag of chocolates is enough to turn Chris into a gushing mess. Aluche is absolutely surprised by this.
  • Tsundere: A non-romantic example. She goes from being helpful but aloof towards Aluche to wanting her to survive the entire ordeal at all costs. If Arnice is brought along to Malvasia's palace in the final chapter, they will have a conversation where Christophorus will blame Arnice for turning her into "a softie".

    Arnice
Voiced by: Mao Ichimichi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arnice_nights_of_azure_2.png
The legendary half-demon that defeated the Nightlord and saved the world. Her influence is felt in the game and fiends that sense her presence nearby run away in fear. She suffers from a Loss of Identity in this game and after snapping out of it, she joins Aluche's cause in order to get some payback on the Moon Queen.
  • Badass Armfold: How she starts her burst while dragging her enemies into the dark world below.
  • BFS: Which can somehow extend even more.
  • Bridal Carry: Does this to Aluche at the end of her burst.
  • Combination Attack: For Double Chase, Arnice grabs Aluche and sucks her blood, then uses the energy to point her sword and fire a continuous blast of demonic energy. As for the Lily Burst, Arnice hands Aluche the Demon Sword Jorth, prompting the latter to dual wield and slash away her enemies, followed by Arnice creating a dark hole that sucks the enemies into a dark world to blast them with a fusillade of explosions and lasers. Arnice then flies out of the hole and takes Aluche in her arms.
  • The Dreaded: Chris and other fiends are afraid of her. Or to be more specific, her out-of-control self. This is to be expected considering Arnice is the Nightlord, the strongest demon around.
  • Energy Weapon: The final attack of her burst has her attacking her enemies with a lot of laser beams.
  • Evil Costume Switch: Played with in that she's not evil but her originally red clothes become blue in this game. Given that there's still a bit of purple at the hem though, it's likely becoming the Nightlord dyed her clothes in Blue Blood.
  • Evil Laugh: In her burst while brutalizing her enemies.
  • Goggles Do Nothing: As usual, except somehow she changed the tint of her goggles.
  • Humble Hero: When Aluche finally talks with her normally, she finds out that Arnice acts just like a normal person and isn't exactly a fan of showing off her body at the pool (a possible nod to her not being able to change her clothes in the first game, save for her conversations with the Maiden of Jorth in the first game).
  • Interspecies Romance: Arnice was a half-demon that became a full-demon after absorbing the Nightlord's blood at the end of the first game. Lilysse is a normal human. They've also been in a relationship with each other since the end of the first game.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: The fact that Arnice is the new Nightlord is casually revealed by Christophorus halfway through the game's story.
  • Legendary in the Sequel: Arnice is known amongst the members of the Curia as the legendary half-demon that defeated the Nightlord in Ruswal and saved the world from the Eternal Night.
  • Loss of Identity: This is what happens as a result of the Moon Queen kidnapping Lilysse and lying about having killed her when Arnice rose up against her. As a result, Arnice snapped and went on a years long rampage and was only snapped out of it because of Christophorus' and Aluche's interference.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: Arnice reveals to Aluche that demons age slower than humans do and thus that also means seeing the ones they love grow older without them. This doesn't stop Arnice and Lilysse from being together.
  • Mirror Character: Arnice notes this about herself and Aluche: both of them are half-demons assigned to protect someone very dear to them, and both of them will do absolutely everything to keep them safe from their supposed destinies. Due to their similarities, Arnice guesses that much like how she fell in love with and ended up with Lilysse years prior, Aluche must be the same with Liliana. Arnice ends up being right about that.
  • Official Couple: With Lilysse, as the game reveals that the Golden Ending from the first game is the canon ending. Even Lilysse being taken hostage by the Moon Queen and separated from Arnice for some time isn't enough to destroy their relationship as once Arnice finds evidence that Lilysse is alive and well, she immediately decides to go on a quest to find Lilysse at the end of the game.
  • Red Baron: Currently known as the new "Nightlord".
  • Shipper on Deck: For Aluche and Liliana later on in the game. Arnice even asks Aluche if the latter is in love with Liliana during one late-game Lily quest to which Aluche responds by sidestepping the question. Arnice ends up being right on the money.
  • Unstoppable Rage: After being told by Malvasia that Lilysse was dead, she completely and utterly snaps and goes on a rampage that lasts for years with the addition of losing her sense of self. It's not until Aluche finds evidence that Lilysse is still alive that she finally calms down.
  • Willfully Weak: Barely uses a fraction of her powers in the game even compared to the first game. Still one of the most powerful characters of the setting.
  • World's Strongest Woman: Despite having to regain a lot of her former power after snapping out of her blind rage, Arnice is still far stronger than everyone else due to being the Nightlord.

    Lilysse
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3f3f3f3f3f3f3f_1.png
Arnice's lover from the first game. She doesn't show up in the game but she is still the driving force behind Arnice's actions in this game.
  • The Ghost: Lilysse doesn't show up in person in the game and she isn't namedropped until after Arnice's final Lily quest has been completed.
  • I Will Wait for You: Arnice and Lilysse were separated from each other because of the Moon Queen's machinations. A letter from Lilysse found near the end of the game reveals that Lilysse managed to escape from being the Moon Queen's hostage and has gone into hiding in the east, eagerly awaiting for Arnice to reunite with her.
  • Interspecies Romance: With Arnice. Lilysse is a normal human and Arnice used to be a half-demon before she became a pureblooded demon after absorbing the Nightlord's blood. They've been together since the end of the first game.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: With Arnice. Arnice reveals to Aluche in the final chapter that demons age slower than humans, meaning that Arnice will outlive Lilysse. Despite this, the two still continue to love, and remain with, each other.
  • Official Couple: With Arnice ever since the Golden Ending of the original game. Even being taken hostage by the Moon Queen and separated from Arnice for some time isn't enough to destroy their relationship as Arnice goes on a quest to find Lilysse at the end of the game, with Lilysse eagerly awaiting Arnice's arrival.

    Alstromeria
A Knight hailed by humanity as a hero due to her striking down a terrifying demon in one blow. The truth is most definitely far from the heroic tale that humanity's spun from her deeds.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Malvasia calls, or used to call, her Als.
