Sure, I guess. Ai Kayano is a voice actress born on September 13, 1987 in Tokyo, Japan. When she first started, she only appeared in anime in the early 2010s. She was first noticed for her role as the popular character Itsuwa of A Certain Magical Index, but her big break has seemed to come with voicing Meiko "Menma" Honma in Ano Hana, though in her case, she became a star within her first year of debuting, a very special situation. She seems to specialize in soft spoken, nice girls. In the 6th Annual Seiyuu Awards, she won the Best New Actress award in 2011.

Now, Ai Kayano shall call forth a storm of her roles...desu tte!

Do you love your seiyuu and her related tropes?

  • Banned in China: An unfortunate incident in February 2021 where she tweeted an otherwise innocent comment in Twitter about nice weather near Yasukuni Shrine ended up going viral and pissing off Chinese peoplenote  that it ended with her roles in several Chinese-based mobile games like Azur Lane and Arknights being replaced, but her career in Japan is still fine and dandy, though her number of roles were noticeably fewer onwards and any shows which featured her heavily are also yanked out from Chinese streaming services.
  • The Danza: On three different occasions: Bodacious Space Pirates, Sacred Seven and Oreshura. Especially so in the latter, where the character's name is even written with the same kanji (愛衣).
  • Ms. Fanservice: Some of her characters qualify, particularly Mamako, Atago and Darkness.
  • Woman of a Thousand Voices: She can play Characters from cute little sisters like Shiro to serious Women with a Deep voice like Alice Zuberg or a ridiculous masochist like Darkness.
