Olivia White

Vocalist for the band. She lives with her grandma.
- Adaptation Name Change: In the book, her surname was Whitehead. The film shortens it to just White.
- Freudian Excuse: Olivia's breakdown comes from the death of Nancy (her pet cat) is because Olivia sees it as the last living part of her dead mother.
- Missing Mom: Her mom passed when she was young.
- Parental Abandonment: Olivia lives with her grandmother because her mom died and her dad's in jail.
Wendel "Wen" Gifford
Played by: Adam Hicks
The band's pianist. Has a strained relationship with his dad due to his new girlfriend.
- Speech Impediment: Wen speaks with a lisp.
Mohini "Mo" Banjaree
Played by: Naomi Scott
The bassist for the band. Her father is constantly telling her to be perfect.
- Adrenaline Makeover: The outfits that Mo wears on stage with Lemonade Mouth are not something you'd arguably see her wearing anywhere else.
- Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: "I'm classically trained. I don't play whatever this is!"
- Brainy Brunette: Though she's not the Bollywood Nerd her dad wants her to be.
- But Not Too Foreign: Believe it or not, Naomi Scott is actually of Indian descent.
- Female Rockers Play Bass: As mentioned in the description; Mo plays bass for Lemonade Mouth.
- "Well Done, Daughter!" Girl: Her dad wants her to be a perfect Indian daughter, and she struggles to live up to his expectations.
Stella Yamada
Played by: Hayley Kiyoko
The band's guitarist and lead. She feels inadequate in family due to them all being super smart.
- Adaptation Name Change: Her surname changed from Penn to Yamada in the film.
- Asian Airhead: Subverted, she thinks she is this when compared to her more book smart family members, but she herself, while not as skilled in academics, is a very talented musician and singer-song writer. She is also a visionary, leader and driving force of not only Lemonade Mouth, but in the effort to give the students a voice, and the one who gets Mel to build the music hall for the school.
- Berserk Button: Stella has a few berserk buttons, from being able to express herself to the aforementioned drive to save the vending machine. Both end up being critical to the formation of the band.
Charles "Charlie" Delgado
Played by: Blake Michael
The band's drummer. He lives in the shadow of his older brother.
- Successful Sibling Syndrome: Living with what has to be perfect brother has made him feel inadequate.
- The Unfavorite: His parents do love him , but are more interested in their older son's achievements and try mold Charlie into his image. That's the Disney version - in the book, he's the Angsty Surviving Twin and his parents have "celebrated" all his birthdays with a trip to his stillborn twin's grave.
Scott Pickett
Played by: Nick Roux
- Heel–Face Turn: Leaves Mudslide Crash for Lemonade Mouth in the finale.
- The Sixth Ranger: After leaving his band he joins Lemonade Mouth as their second guitarist.
