Protagonist

    Kisa Tachibana
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kisa_0.png
Voiced by: Yuka Terasaki

The main character herself. She dreams of going to Univeil and after a chance encounter with the principal, who convinces to join disguised as a boy, she takes the opportunity to able to shine on stage. Much like her older brother, Tsuki.

  • Celibate Heroine: One of the possible endings for Kisa is this if you chose not to pursue anybody and did not max out at least one of the stats that correspond with the love interests by the time of the fourth play, and it's named the "Kisa Tachibana" route.
  • Jack of All Trades: As the story progresses, she is proven capable of playing both Jack and Jeanne roles, much like her brother Tsuki. This later becomes a plot point as several rivals classes want to have her to transfer to other classes so they can cultivate her talent.
  • Recursive Crossdressing: She's a girl who is disguised as a boy and is sometimes casted into Jeanne (female) roles. This becomes important during the Winter Performance, when she becomes concerned that she will expose herself by playing the show's main girl.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: She has pink hair and is a sweet-hearted Nice Girl.
  • Sweet Polly Oliver: One of the conditions that Kisa has to accept in order to be enrolled and succeed in Univeil is that she has to disguise herself as a boy, and that no one should know of her true relation with her brother. Given that it's an Otome game, that doesn't stop the love interests from falling in love with her.

Quartz

    Suzu Orimaki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/suzu_11.png

Voiced by: Yūma Uchida

A red-haired boy, whom Kisa firsts meet during the audition. He is energetic and always eager to do his best.

  • Big Eater: Suzu enjoys eating large meals and a good chunk of his free events involve food. Justified as he is the most physically active of Quartz and thus needs to maintain his energy.
  • Black Bead Eyes: Whenever Suzu is confused, his eyes turn into small black dots.
  • Butt-Monkey: He is often poked fun of by his fellow students (though most of it is light-hearted) and is sometimes victim to Neji's antics and teasing.
  • Custom Uniform: He wears the standard Univeil uniform with a stripped shirt underneath.
  • Determinator: In his route, Suzu is determined to continue to act alongside Kisa in the Univeil performance despite having a painful ankle injury at that point.
  • Fiery Redhead: He has red hair and is very energetic and often quite loud.
  • Game-Breaking Injury: The practice for the Autumn performance revealed that he had an ankle injury back in middle school, with all the practicing making it worse. It would return again in the Finale when Suzu strains himself during the performance, though fortunately, he managed to stand with Kisa during said performance.
  • Keet: Suzu is very energetic and is often in a good mood.
  • Lovable Jock: He's quite atheletic, having been into Kendo, and is an all around nice guy.
  • No Indoor Voice: Many characters remark on how loud Suzu tends to be.

    Soshiro Yonaga
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/soshiro.png

Voiced by: Gen Satō

Kisa's childhood friend and fellow classmate. He moved away when the two were in middle school but the pair would be reunited in Univeil. Quiet but determined, he is one the few who know that Kisa is a girl.

  • Can't Catch Up: When Kisa and Suzu get cast as prominent characters in the fall performance, Soshiro starts to feel insecure about his lack of improvement on his acting, starting from when he gets relegated to a nameless background character in said play.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: In his route, its revealed that he had been crushing on Kisa since childhood and tried to tell her about it before he moved away, but didn't get the chance to. At the end of his route, he found the old letter he initially intend to give to Kisa all those years ago and confessed.
  • Childhood Friends: He and Kisa are childhood friends who used to play "Make believe" together with Kisa's brother and dream of becoming an actor together. He later moved away in middle school, but is reunited with Kisa at the start of the game.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: If you choose his route, Kisa and Soshiro can potentially develop to have this relationship.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: In his route, he grows rather clingy with Kisa since he wants her to be the Al Jeanne of the Univeil performance. It gets worse when Kisa becomes Al Jeanne after Mitsuki steps down and when Kakuto encourages Soshiro to focus on Kisa alone. Thankfully, he gets called out on it and he realizes the error of ways by the time the performance occurs.
  • Foil:
    • To Momonashi in his route. The both of them are presented as the calm level-headed one in their respective trio and are incredibly devoted to another person (Soshiro to Kisa and Momonashi to Chui). While Momonashi just sees himself as a tool and vessel to further Chui's talent, Soshiro wants to improve his skills so he can be seen as an equal to Kisa with the two of them on stage.
    • To Kasai in general. They're both first-years who are striving for the role of Jack Ace despite looking more cute than handsome like an ideal Jack Ace. Kasai is an outgoing Lovable Jock who has no problem landing Jack roles early on while it takes some time for the introverted Cute Bookworm Soshiro to get a Jack role in the autumn performance.
  • Secret-Keeper: He is one of the few people who know that Kisa is a girl.
  • The Smart Guy: He is very good at memorizing lines for plays and has a knack for reading. Fittingly, his main stat is the Study stat.

    Mitsuki Shirota
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mitsuki_9.png
Voiced by: Gakuto Kajiwara

Quartz's tresor and a noted talented singer. He has a very blunt personality and doesn't tolerate non-sense.

  • Abusive Parents: Mitsuki has an abusive Stage Mom who treats him more like a trophy and her Establishing Character Moment involves her demanding Mitsuki to come to a party without care of his priorities in Univeil, callously telling him to drop his studies in Univeil for a day just so she could show off her talented son. However, that's the only instance that she shows up and she hasn't appeared again in future events Kisa would have with him since.
  • Beautiful Singing Voice: Mitsuki is often noted to have a lovely singing voice by other characters. Fittingly, he is often named as Quartz's tresor.
  • Custom Uniform: He wears a beige blazer over his white Univeil buttoned shirt.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Mitsuki stands out from his fellow classmates for his androgynous appearance, making him look right at home at Rhodonite. Kisa even compare him a doll when she firsts meets him.
  • In-Universe Nickname: He is sometimes nicknamed Mikki.
  • Only Sane Man: When compared to his colorful companions, he often tends to be the sole voice of reason among them.
  • Remember That You Trust Me: A plot point and issue that occurs between Mitsuki and Kisa is the issue of trust between them. Until the Winter play, ‘‘Oh Rama Havenna’’, Kisa’s reluctance to share her secret and be honest with him led to Mitsuki believing that he isn’t worthy enough to have Kisa’s trust and its only when his route is chosen that Mitsuki can learn Kisa’s secret and finally patch up some of the misunderstandings they had over the trust they had with each other.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Mitsuki first comes off as aloof and cold, often with a blank expression on his face, and is very prone to speaking his mind. Over time, he starts becoming more close to Quartz, and if romantically pursued, he grows more affectionate with Kisa.

    Sarafumi Takashina
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sarafumi_0.png

Voiced by: Takayuki Kondō

Quartz's Al Jeanne and a very talented dancer. He has a laidback personality but takes his dancing very seriously.

  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Many characters often note how good he looks whenever he gets to plays a Jeanne role. He also gets a good amount of Fangirls in-universe thanks to it.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Pursuing further in his route reveals that Fumi knew Kisa is a girl right from the start since the entrance exam, simply through seeing Kisa dance. This also implies that Fumi is a Secret Secret-Keeper in the other routes regarding her true gender. The ending of his route also has Enishi and the Director lampshade this, mentioning that Fumi is one of the more intuitive and smart students and thus there's no fooling him.
  • Became Their Own Antithesis: Deconstructed. His backstory reveals that his family disapproved of him not taking over the Takashina dance school, so he rebelled and went to Univeil so he can pursue his own dreams. But being partnered with Tsuki gave him an inflated ego, and the fallout from Tsuki's disappearance resulted in Fumi being angry at everyone for every perceived slight, to the point where he ruthlessly bullied Kai and demanded that he quit Univeil. It takes Neji giving him a What the Hell, Hero? talking to and realizing he became no different from his family and put unrealistic expectations on everyone else.
  • Don't Call Me "Sir": He prefers that his juniors don't call him "senpai".
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He was first seen during the performance with Tsuki at the very beginning of the game. He later makes his first formal introduction during Kisa's audition.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He has blonde hair and, while a bit teasy, very much cares about his fellow classmates.
  • Hidden Depths: An easy-to-miss character event reveals that Fumi is good at sewing and mending clothes, because of having needed to mend his own dancing outfits growing up. Sometimes Neji called upon him to assist in putting together costumes for all the plays when he needed to make last minute changes, and in said character event, he fixes a part of Kisa's shirt easily, even down to the specific embroidery. Fumi mentions that Neji may used that experience to create the character of Mary Jane, who sews dolls.
  • In-Series Nickname: He simply prefers to be called Fumi.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When he tells Kisa about his past and how he used to be a Jerkass to everyone around him as a result of Tsuki's disappearance, admitting to having bullied Kai, he only realized what kind of person he had become when Neji chewed him out. His friendship with Kai has significantly improved since then.
  • The Nicknamer: Sarafumi frequently gives out nicknames to his classmates. To wit, he calls Suzu “Su”, Soshiro “Soshi”, Mitsuki "Mitsu" and Kokuto “Kuro”.
  • Playing Against Type: In-universe; for the winter performance he gets to play a Jack (male role) in contrast to his usual role as a Jeanne (female role). In his route, he gets to play the Jack Ace of the Univeil performance.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He is the more outgoing and sociable red oni to Kai's stoic, quiet, taciturn blue oni.
  • The Tease: He frequently flirts Kisa during their affection events and cranks it up a notch if one enters his route.

    Kai Mutsumi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kai_63.png

Voiced by: Jun Kasama
Quartz's Jack Ace. Very quiet and not very expressive but is nonetheless a kind man.

  • Friend to All Children: He is shown to have a soft spot for kids and, in his first affection event, is seen teaching them dance lessons at the local church.
  • Nature Lover: He adores nature and is seen around Mt. Oodate during his free time. This is because he grew up in the mountains as a child.
  • Nice Guy: He is nothing but encouraging to his juniors whenever they are practicing. He is also very supporting of Kisa throughout his affection events and in his route.
  • Not So Stoic: Despite Kai’s stoic demeanor, he has shown expressing emotion through the game and his route. One such instance being when he opens up to Kisa about the loss of both his parents and him tearing up about it (which he notes is something he didn’t do when his mother passed away).
  • Parental Abandonment: Kai’s affection events reveals that both of his parents are dead, with father dying sometime before he was born and his mother passing away from illness when he was a child.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He is the stoic, quiet, taciturn blue oni to Fumi’s outgoing and sociable red oni.
  • The Stoic: He is always calm and collected in almost every situation.
  • Unknown Rival: Kaido always proclaim he is “Kai’s rival”, though Kai doesn’t see him as such.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kokuto.png

Voiced by: Daisuke Kishio

Quartz's main script writer and director. He has a very loud, flashy personality and is known to play both Jack and Jeanne roles.

  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: For all his eccentricities and hammyness, he is a very talented scriptwriter and director.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Kokuto is loud, eccentric, and does whatever he wants whether his classmates like it or not. It's really a facade to hide his insecurities about his father's suicide.

  • Fun T-Shirt: His training shirt often changes between the performances, ranging from what kind of role he put himself in to cartoony drawings of both Suzu and Kai.

    Kyoji Otori
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyoji_7.png

Voiced by: Genki Muro

A member of Quartz. While a talented actor, he often looks down at those he considers "bad".

  • Butt-Monkey: He is constantly insulting the other first years and proclaims that he's the best actor there is...but he always gets delegated to every role that's not the main character, usually the comic relief, much to his infuriation.
  • Character Development: He first starts of as an arrogant and prideful student who looks down on others and gets upset when he is not the center of attention. Over the course of the game, however, he becomes more nicer as he shows legitimate concern over his fellow classmates, even thanking them while blushing during Fumi’s route.
  • Jerkass: He is arrogant and prideful, looks down on everyone around him, openly insults his classmates to their faces, and claims he's deserving of starring roles, though he always gets delegated to minor roles, which informs his Butt-Monkey status. • The Ace: As Onyx's Jack Ace, he has the best dancing skills and the rest of the class looks up to him.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/utsuri.png

Voiced by: Ayumu Murase
A student in Amber who is often condescending to those around him.
  • Hate Sink: Out of all the characters, Kamiya is the only one who is openly, unapologetically adversarial towards everyone and, unlike Ohtori, doesn't change his ways after the fact. He spends most of his time insulting anyone he feels is beneath him, especially Kisa, even for slights as petty as calling Tanakamigi by name. Most people outside of Amber don't care for him because of his self-important attitude. By contrast, Kakuto is Affably Evil and remains as such even in other routes.

  • Affably Evil: Not to the extent of being fully evil, but he remains a fairly friendly face to Kisa and the others despite the passive-aggressive barbs that he made towards them.
  • Anti-Mentor: In Soshiro's route, he encourages Soshiro to "sharpen" his talents by focusing on Kisa and no one else, much like Kakuto did with Chui. This leads to Soushiro focusing his energy of Kisa alone. Fortunately, Soshiro realized how much this is hurting his other partners and in the Univeil performances, he makes sure to highlight everyone in the play.
  • Graceful Loser: If the player wins the final Univeil performance, he takes his class's loss with better grace than Utsuri.
  • Insufferable Genius: He is a talented actor and while his jerkassery is not as pronounced as Utsuri, he does have a very high opinion of himself and often makes passive-aggressive statements in order to put others down.
