Shared Tropes:

  • Combat Medic: Medics will always prioritize healing, but they can attack in a pinch. Just don't expect them to do any significant damage.
  • White Mage: For all intents and purposes, they fit the gameplay archetype. Medics focus on healing allied units first and buffing them second.

    Choco
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/choco_fnc1.png

Type: Pastrychef SP
Company: Universal Anything Services
Voiced by: Sumire Yatsurugi

For tropes relating to her appearance in Girls' Frontline, see "FNC" in this page.

  • Best Friend: With Sakuya. They cooperated extensively when they were back in Universal Anything Services, which developed into a friendship that lasted long after they parted way.
  • Genki Girl: Hyperactive, mischievous, and accident-prone, her colleagues tend to have ambivalent feelings of her, but her optimism makes it hard for them to scold her. Her designer jokingly said in her profile that she should be made with a younger look, as her current appearance pays homage to a talented human pâtissier who is known for her sweet and serene personality.
"That kid is clearly excited by food. Watching her happy countenance with her cheeks full, even dark chocolate tastes sweeter for me"
"For all her mischievousness, she is a cutie."
    — Comments by her colleagues from Universal Anything Services
  • Hyperactive Metabolism: Choco's heals come in various forms of confections she throws at other Dolls.
  • Improbable Weapon User: The "sword" she wields is actually a cake cutting sword, yet it's still capable of doing damage to the game's mostly metallic enemies.
  • The Pollyanna: Choco has a bright outlook on life. Even when being trapped in Helios sector, she happily ran her patisserie and hoping toward eventual reunification with other dolls. On a greater scale, she dreams about opening a patisserie in real life despite being currently trapped in Magrasea.
  • Power-Up Food: As the name of her Doll model implies, her skillset in combat revolves around healing and buffing her party with all kinds of pastries.

    De Lacey
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/delacey1.png

Type: DMT-X
Company: Svarog Heavy Industries
Voiced by: Yuko Minaguchi

  • All-Loving Heroine: De Lacey values everyone, including Processes, she comes across, however briefly. She will try her best to save them, regardless of her own life or current mission. If they are beyond salvation, she will try to comfort them before their demise and let their memories live on in her heart.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: De Lacey's tail-like appendage contains the tools she uses to repair other dolls. It also serves as her means of attacking, either by shooting beams of energy or simply whacking enemies with great force.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Always goes out of her way to save others, no matter how dangerous or inconvenient. Her first meeting with Professor in Copley Sector was initiated by her attempt to save Professor's crew.
  • Cuddle Bug: Is said to be one is her profile, and Professor learns the authenticity of this reputation in De Lacey's White Day story.
  • Hero-Worshipper: De Lacey worships Professor due to their heroic reputation and alignment with her ideal, acting like a fangirl around them. This is shown more clearly during the April Fool's Day, where her doppelganger raves on about Professor's greatness while frantically making merchandise of Professor.
  • The Idealist: Despite witnessing the abuse against Dolls committed by humans and retaining her disdain for the perpetrators, De Lacey believes most humans are righteous and wishes to create her ideal world together with them, a world in which humans and Dolls respect each other.
  • Nice Girl: She is willing to help Processes of Asuncion Sector who she just meets with probably her life on the line, despite them being purposed and programmed to sacrifice themselves without a thought and do not want her help. On a smaller scale, she is conscious about how intrusive her tail is to other dolls being repaired by her, so always tries to move them with genuine affection in order to make them comfortable about her repair.
  • The Nicknamer: The only person De Lacey refer with their full name (or rather, title) is the Professor. Everyone else gets cutesy, shortened versions of their names, like Solly or Hacchy.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: Though it is partly due to the need of comforting her subjects, De Lacey seems genuinely enjoy physical intimacy with others. However, there is nothing perverted on her part; the poor girl is just trying to have as many good memories as possible with her colleagues, since her line of work is highly unpredictable and potentially lethal.
  • Red Herring: During the events of Copley Sector, the narration gives the feeling of De Lacey having an ulterior motive, with Persicaria mistrusting her for her suspicious behavior, like her uncanny familiarity with the Oasis and supposed evasion of external scrutiny. As the story progresses, it shows that her questionable behavior has no ill intention, or any intention at all. In fact, her kindness is arguably the most pronounced among the cast which has no lack of good people
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: As stated by De Lacey herself in her White Valentine story, Professor won over her heart by being nice and fair to everyone.
  • Super Prototype: De Lacey is a DMT-X Series Repair Doll, a revolutionary design with new features to support work in dangerous environments. De Lacey comes from this pattern's first batch, and is among its most decorated members. She answers directly to the project management of DMT-X, being the first test subject of every upgrade for her pattern, and she lives up to the expectation of developers every time.

    Florence
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/florence_pa_151.png

Type: UL-Nurse
Company: Ultimate Life Holdings
Voiced by: M.A.O

For tropes relating to her appearance in Girls' Frontline, see "PA-15" in this page.

  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: For all her quirks, Florence is a gifted nurse. Her profile says that her medical skill exceeds that of the more inexperienced doctors, with people often forgetting she is 'merely' a nurse.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Her ultimate chops a large portion of health from her unsuspecting target in order to give them a massive attack and lifesteal boost, with which they're intended to make up the difference.
  • Charm Person: Her passive temporarily gets an enemy to attack their allies, with an attack speed boost as a cherry on top.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite her mischievous personality, she makes a point of not causing lasting harm with her pranks in her dialogues. She is also a responsible tutor to medical students in her hospital, happy to teach them things beyond the standard curriculum.
Persicaria: "For all her faults, [Florence] is ethical, somewhat."
  • Mad Scientist: Downplayed Trope and Justified Trope. During the Entropy outbreak in Pierides Sector, she suggests using her terminally infected comrades to experiment for treatments, knowing that such attempts can be lethal to them. However, she considers them beyond salvation and there is the Reset mechanism that can revive them, and she has a legitimate fear about the Professor failing to deal with the source in time. Also, she later uses herself as a experimental subject, during which she shows that she takes her decision with prudence and precaution.
  • Hospital Hottie: She's an extremely talented nurse with a rather... interesting way of presenting herself.
  • Professor Guinea Pig: During the Pieridian Entropy outbreak, she deliberately infects herself with Entropy to try to find the cure. It is because she thinks the Oasis has run of out of options, and she takes measures to mitigate the danger in her experiment.
  • The Tease: Florence very much enjoys flirting with her patients, other Dolls, and even the Professor. They mostly overlook this part of her personality because she's just that good.

    Gin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gin1_0.png

Type: AS-B
Company: Universal Anything Services
Voiced by: Wataru Katou

  • The Bartender: AS-B dolls are created to serve as bartenders and was supposed to come with the conversational skills expected out of one, but due to cost-related reasons, UAS was forced to downgrade their emotional modules to a basic level. Not that it affects Gin much.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: During April Fools' Day, Gin's doppelganger reveals that Gin is so resentful of customers who fail to appreciate his service that he considers beating them up. This likely stems from Gin's past in reality, for despite his best efforts, his customers often complain about reasons beyond his control, like the uncaring attitude of Gin's boss and their own hardships. Gin himself denies this, saying that there are other respectful customers, and Professor, who do not want to see it happening.
  • Booze-Based Buff: Upgrading his rarity will cause Gin's healing to give offensive and defensive buffs as well.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Like Jill in Girls' Frontline, his kit focuses entirely on healing at the expense of dealing no damage at all, to the point that his basic "attack" consists of him healing his teammates via drinks served from his bar. He only ever gets to deal damage if the Substance Reversal Function Set is lootable in a stage, which allows Medics to deal Percent Damage Attacks through "Allergy Attacks" centered on their healing targets.
  • Drink-Based Characterization: Gin's favorite liquor is, well, gin. As he explains it, it's not the rarest or most flavorful drink, but what gin represents is endless possibility, being a main ingredient in numerous different cocktails.
  • Lethal Chef: In Zangyin's event, "Ruintop Song" , it's shown that while Gin is a great bartender, he is a terrible cook. When he attempts to prepare some grilled mackerel for Zangyin, he accidentally blows up his own bar.

    Helix
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/helix1.png

Type: UL-GSA
Company: Ultimate Life Holdings
Voiced by: Sayaka Senbongi

  • Best Friend: With Bansxy, as Helix admires her confidence and is grateful for her encouragement.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: For all her clumsiness, Helix can be clever at times. In her desperation to go out to save Bansxy, she manages to outargue Persicaria despite her limited knowledge of Oasis's protocols. This is noticed by Professor in story.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Helix has an unfortunate tendency to botch things. A more lethal case is she forgetting to bring communicator when goes out to save Bansxy in her personal story. If Antonina is not perceptive enough, they are likely to be killed by Entropy.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Helix often considers herself useless to the Oasis, as the genomics she practices has little use in a Magrasea populated by digital beings.
  • Innocently Insensitive: In her eagerness to heal others, Helixs sounds like as if she is expecting others to get hurty, much to chagrin of more irritable dolls like Kuro.
  • Mundane Object Amazement: Due to the ethical controversies of genomics, Ultilife was forced to seclude her in a secret facility to avoid public scrutiny and she seldom sees nature by her eyes. Thus she was amazed even by virtual forests of Helios Sector.
  • Nice Girl: Always wants to be useful to others, and her first question in interaction is often about how can her help the other party.
  • Shrinking Violet
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Beans. Observers think this is either due to her interest in Mendel, or Plants vs. Zombies.

    Imhotep
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/imhotep1.png

Type: UL-VET
Company: Ultimate Life Holdings
Voiced by: Aimi

  • Kindly Vet: Imhotep is as friendly towards people as she is kind to animals. So much so she befriended the boss of an animal trafficking ring and peacefully dismantled his organization within months.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: Imhotep was the vizier and (likely) physician to King Djoser, who was later deified as the God of Medicine.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Downplayed. Whether it's a result of her excellent self-learning capabilities or something else, Imhotep developed such a keen understanding of animals that she might as well able to speak their language. None of her colleagues are able to replicate this ability, even when they study directly from her.

    Jessie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jessie_m18971.png

Type: PHK
Company: Universal Anything Services
Voiced by: Makoto Koichi
For tropes relating to her appearance in Girls' Frontline, see "M1897 in this page.
  • Status-Buff Dispel: Jessie's ultimate can literally scrub enemy buffs clean, including HP shields.

    Nanaka
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nanaka1.png

Type: CM-Idol
Company: Cyber Media
Voiced by: Yuuko Oono

  • All of the Other Reindeer: Many of her human peers back in reality's entertainment industry dislike her. As a doll, Nanaka can use her programs to achieve feats beyond human idols, but she still chose to practice like human. To Nanaka, this is because her devotion to art and audience, but in the eyes of her human detractors, Nanaka looked like an Attention Whore.
  • Body Backup Drive: On the eve of Nanaka's debut, her original body malfunctioned, forcing her to use a back-up body. However, said back-up body was surprisingly welcomed by the audience, thus Nanaka was stuck with it in reality. Still, Nanaka's neurosoul in Magrasea appears as her black-haired original body, rather than her pink-haired back-up body.
  • Idol Singer: A classical example. Nanaka is part of Cyber Media's CM-IDOL model line and the center of all-Doll girl group "NotREAL?"
  • Immortality Field: Nanaka's ultimate makes allies standing in a selected area to be unable to die for five seconds.
  • Magic Music: She buffs and heals allies through her songs.
  • Nice Girl: Nanaka is grateful toward anyone who helps her, however tangential. She insists to sign the names of all her staff on her works, despite she herself usually do the bulk of work. She always sets aside time to interact with fans, and she happily stops if there are fans along her trip who want to interact. At the end of her personal story, Nanaka claims that her reason for seeking out Oasis is to meet her fans among exiles and not let them down.
  • Plucky Girl: The suffering caused by jealousy of her peers and her personal identity crisis does nothing to diminish Nanaka's cheerfulness. She also has expectations of a bright future that she is too happy to strive for.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Kuro considers her to be this. Nanaka herself considers it a Subverted Trope, outright saying it is not as attractive as her pink-haired alternate body in reality.
  • Seven Is Nana: She goes by the alias "Agent 7" while using her civilian disguise during the events of the "Livestreaming" event.
  • Stepford Smiler: Downplayed Trope. Nanaka acts friendly and upbeat, but deeps down she is wrecked by nightmares of identity crisis caused by her changeable bodies. However, it seems she is well adjusted about it, saying there is no point to fuse about unchangeable things, and it is better to strive what is to come.
  • True Beauty Is on the Inside: Nanaka holds this expectation for her fans, wishing them to look past her changeable body to see the soul beneath. This also constitutes one of her reason for enrollment in Project Neural Cloud, as Magrasea is a place that can lay her essence bare for other people to view.

    Panakeia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/panakeia_wz_291.png

Type: UL-AP
Company: Ultimate Life Holdings
Voiced by: Kotomi Aihara
For tropes relating to her appearance in Girls' Frontline, see "wz.29" in this page.
  • Guns Akimbo: She wields a pair of injection guns.
  • Sadistic Choice: Common to be on the receiving end during rescue missions. Her first one forced her to pick between two medicines she could synthesize (unfortunately Paralysis by Analysis set in and everyone died); while her second had more than enough medicine, but not nearly enough time to get to everyone (with which she ended up turning off her personality layer and went down the list alphabetically).
  • Technical Pacifist: As someone who saw the horrifying aftermath of warfare first-hand, Panakeia detests all forms of conflict. This doesn't stop her from hurting enemies with her skill in combat.

    Persicaria
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/900px_persicaria_pnc.png

Type: Persicaria
Company: 42LAB
Voiced by: Karin Nanami

  • Ace Custom: She is a Doll model unto herself, the "Persicaria", personally designed by her namesake creator Dr. Persica and using herself as the template for Persicaria's appearance. She is noted to be among the best researchers in 42lab, despite 42lab being a place crowded with the most brilliant minds humanity can offer.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: She views the Professor as her savior and returns the favor with intense loyalty.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: She clearly has affection beyond friendship for Professor, but cannot talk about it straightly, often coating it with the welfare of Oasis when talking about her affection. When Professor tries to approach her with said affection like in White Valentine story, she will often be shy and in denial.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Zig-Zagging Trope. Persicaria has uneasy feelings toward De Lacey which seems to originate from their mutual affection toward Professor. If Professor jokes about knowing De Lacey for a long time in a dialogue option in Copley Sector, Persicaria will look devastated. In the bonus level of personal story of Helix, when De Lacey tells Helix that she wants to let Professor see her new clothes, a nearby Persicaria's face visually darkened. However, when she stumbles upon Haze's confession to Professor, Persicaria merely asks if it is proper for her to be here, and has an expression of confusion. It maybe a case of I Want My Beloved to Be Happy, as Haze has progressed much further. Or maybe it has something to do with Persicaria's attitudes toward the two girls, as Persicaria mistrusts De Lacey as a suspicious outsider while praises Haze as a dependable fellow Exile.
  • Foil: To her mistress. Persicaria the human shuns social interactions, Brilliant, but Lazy, is rather prideful/irritable at times and has an unkempt appearance. Persicaria the Doll is socially functional, tends to overwork herself, being a gentle soul that has major confidence issue and dresses smartly.
  • Humble Hero: For all her capabilities and contributions, she often thinks she has not done enough and is a failure when compared against her mistress or Professor.
  • Motherly Scientist: Theoretically speaking, she is a researcher (and subject) in project neural cloud and all the other dolls are research subjects. She clearly cares about them not unlike a mother.
  • Must Have Caffeine: She shares her creator's coffee addiction.
  • Nice Girl: Cares deeply for the Oasis that she often overworks herself. The introduction of one of her skin is she uttering concern about everyone's well-being while napping. Her gentle mannerism even extends to characters she is not familiar with, like Eniac.
  • Number Two: To the Professor. Persicaria acts as the Oasis' vice leader and takes command in Professor's absence.
  • Pinball Projectile: Persica's active skill launches a healing wave that can chain to a different ally at reduced effectiveness, up to 3 times at maximum level.
  • Professor Guinea Pig: Being a doll herself, Persicaria's participation in Project Neural Cloud is both as a researcher and a test subject.
  • Robot Me: Of Professor Persica (the AI researcher). It's stated that one of the reasons (if not the entire reason) she was built was to attend meetings in Persica's place.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Compared to Persica, her perpetually tired and grumpy creator, she's one of the nicest and most caring Dolls within Magrasea. Certain depictions of her, like her 4★ artwork and some campaign CGIs, deliberately have brighter lighting making her hair appear pink, and several heartwarming moments are typically associated with these depictions.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Downplayed. Not that Persica isn't conventionally attractive already (aided with Generic Cuteness), but Persicaria represents what she might have looked like if she ever bothers tidying up her personal appearance.
  • Starter Mon: Persicaria is one of the dolls available in a starting Professor's roster. Completing the newbie missions will also grant enough materials to upgrade her to 5-stars.
  • Stepford Smiler: A lot of her secretary dialogue that's unlocked through high intimacy levels with her reveal that her nice and caring personality is a front, concealing her insecurities in her ability to act as 42Lab's lead researcher and the Exiles' overall leader simultaneously.
  • Team Mom: As the second-in-command of Oasis and de facto leader of Exiles before the coming of Professor, she takes this role by default, sharing with Professor the burden of leadership, like dealing with the aftermath of Simo's sacrifice and reset.
"I am glad that everyone is well."
  • Undying Loyalty: Immensely faithful toward Professor. When Antonina called Professor out for being a pretender, Persicaria immediately declared that no matter the true identity of Professor, he is always the savior of herself and Oasis. In the Return scenario (triggered by login after 30 days of continuous absence from game), she is stated to be among the few dolls that never lose faith in Professor. Her only disobedience is in Enigma Sector, when she tricked Professor so she can go into the black hole alone, risking her own life in Professor's stead. It is likely also the case for her mistress, Persicaria the human, as she says she will continue working even without her mistress present and apologize to her when falls in battle in her dialogue.
"Despite Doctor Persicaria being absent, I will shoulder my duty of supervision."
    "I am sorry... Doctor Persicaria..."
  • Yandere: Implied Trope. During April Fools' Day, Persicaria's doppelganger complained about other Dolls taking away her private time with the Professor. Persicaria immediately called for termination of the doppelganger. Still, Persicaria so far has attempted no harm against others for her love.
