The two eventually married and now have a young mutant daughter named Margaret. As a member of Excalibur Meggan grew close to many of the X-Men, including Kate Pryde, Nightcrawler, and Rachel Grey whom were named Margaret's godparents.

Widget was a small, floating robot that became attached to Excalibur and took them on a journey through multiple parallel universes. Then later evolved into the Psycho-Cybernetic Temporal humanoid version of Widget.
- Alternate Self: Astonishingly, she was originally the Days of Future Past version of Kitty Pryde, who sometime after what seemed to be a failed attempt to derail their Bad Future (it only failed because of Marvel's rules of time travel - when she went back and changed history, she just split off an Alternate Universe). A second attempt left her without a body and with a scrambled, childlike mind, inhabiting a strange floating robot.
- Alternate Timeline: From one of the most famous ones in fiction, and as Widget, was able to travel between them.
- Bishounen Line: During the Cross-Time Caper Widget obsessively consumed scrap to construct bodies for herself until eventually developing a humanoid form with a metal head and fingers but a body that appeared to be an active rift in space.
- Black Box: How she works is a mystery to everyone, even a bureau of omniversal monitoring. Her pieces are kept together by a magnetic field instead of welding or bolts and her insides are a mixture of baked beans and garbage, even though she regularly consumes massive amounts of scrap. The only apparent clue to her functionality is a matrix of energy flowing through the whole thing, but how it allows interdimensional travel is still unknown.
- Black-Hole Belly: Widget can consume lots with no apparent change in mass besides extruding temporary constructs.
- Catchphrase: One learned from a startled mutant child: "Oh golly, oh gosh, oh wow!"
- Dramatic Irony: Kitty studied Widget at length, not having any idea that Widget was animated by the personality of her alternate future self. Additionally, Rachel spent a great deal of time around her, not knowing that Widget had originally been Kate Pryde, from her future.
- The Reveal: After approximately 70 issues of Excalibur, it is finally revealed that Widget - who everyone had previously assumed was a he - was not only a she, but, in fact, Kate Pryde.
- Thinking Up Portals: Could create portals to pretty much anywhere and everywhere, including across universes, which led to the Cross-Time Caper. After that, Roma locked her to Earth 616.
Dane Whitman / Black Knight

Peter "Pete" Paul Wisdom

Formerly a member of MI6 and the secret black ops unit Black Air, Pete Wisdom is now an agent of MI13, the United Kingdom's paranormal investigative and defense agency.
- Alternate Company Equivalent: There's an old fan theory that he was an attempt to make Marvel's equivalent to John Constantine. In terms of personality, this isn't far off. In terms of position, however, he's closer to Maxwell Lord prior to his Face–Heel Turn, or as Director MI13, Amanda Waller.
- Author Avatar: Of Warren Ellis while he was writing him. Probably why no one else could quite write him the same afterwards.
- The Atoner: For his Black Air days.
- Badass in a Nice Suit: Before and after he ditches the trench-coat.
- Badass Longcoat: He eventually ditches it, to become a Badass in a Nice Suit.
- Character Development: Pete Wisdom has abandoned the trenchcoats and the cigarettes, given up the drinking and womanising (well... mostly) and most of the cynical attitude. He comes across as having been shaken by his experiences; he's gotten more professional, wiser and sadder than he was before. There were signs of this in the Pryde/Wisdom limited series and this has continued into Captain Britain and MI:13. He reverts a little during his appearances in Gambit, though this probably has a lot to do with having to deal with the titular character, who enjoys winding people up.
- Deadpan Snarker: Pete Wisdom started off as a jaded, cynical snarker. During Tieri's short run on New Excalibur he became the butt of the humour. In the Wisdom miniseries and Captain Britain and MI: 13 he gets a few snappy lines but for the most part he seems to be playing Straight Man to the weirdness of the rest of the team.
- Eyepatch of Power: When he got one in X-Force, though it turned out that he didn't need it. He was only wearing it to invoke this trope. And for its effect on the ladies.
- Faking the Dead: His friends saw him get shot in the head. They mourned him and held a funeral for him. He turned up, months later, Not Quite Dead. Apparently,
it was all some kind of trick. - Famed In-Story: Gambit notes before they meet that while he doesn't know Wisdom personally, he's heard a lot of stories, stories which usually involve someone dying and Wisdom walking away. During Vampire State, Norman Osborn states that he considers Wisdom 'a fellow player'. Wisdom is not in the slightest bit pleased.
- Heartbroken Badass: He used to be part of an amoral government-funded Black Ops organization, until he decided that they had crossed the Moral Event Horizon, and that he had to quit. His employers weren't exactly pleased with this.
- Knight in Sour Armour: He's grumpy, foul-mouthed and somewhat amoral, but he is ultimately dedicated to the defence of the realm.
- The Lancer: To Brian, being more collected and pragmatic to Brian’s straight up hero.
- Manipulative Bastard: He plays Dracula like a harp in Vampire State.
- May–December Romance: With Kitty Pryde. She was approximately 18 at the time, but he's (apparently) older than Colossus, so the large age gap is still there.
- Not Wearing Tights: Everyone else can wear what they like, but Pete Wisdom sticks with his suit.
- Nineties Antihero: This faded away over time, during his time with Excalibur.
- Playing with Fire: His mutant power to to create knifelike spouts of flame from his fingertips.
- Really Gets Around: A downplayed example, but save for when he's dating Kitty, he's rarely seen with the same woman twice.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: He tolerates Gambit and grudgingly believes him when he says he was being compelled to help steal MI13's arsenal (the evidence of the explosive cuff with a listening device attached to his leg helped).
- Secret Public Identity: His name is public but his real identity a secret.
- Shoot the Dog: He's usually the one to do this.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: Exceptionally foul-mouthed, which contrasts him with the relatively clean-cut X-Men.
- Smoking Is Cool: He eventually ditched the cigarettes.
- The Spymaster: Runs MI13, Britain's superhuman branch of the secret service.
- Trenchcoat Brigade: In the original Excalibur series.
- Trickster Mentor: To X-Force.
Colin McKay / Kylun

A feral mutant with the power to replicate any sound he hears, and wields two magical swords. He briefly became a member of the British mutant group Excalibur.
- Arch-Enemy: Necrom
- Cat Girl: Gender Flip.
- The Chosen One: Chosen to save the world.
- Cool Swords: They're hard and sharp enough to cut rock and harm otherwise invulnerable beings. And they're enchanted so they cannot hurt the pure of heart.
- Plot-Relevant Age-Up: An unusual example, given that it happened before the character was introduced to the team. Kylun was only supposed to be about eight years old, but had spent enough time in an Alternate Universe that he had aged up to adulthood.
- What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: He has the mutant power of perfectly reproducing any given sound. Yeah. Unsurprisingly, he finds it rather embarrassing, though his team-mates point out that having such a relatively useless power makes his badassery all the more impressive. Of course, it turns out to be extremely useful on more than one occasion.

Douglock / Warlock

When Warlock was destroyed by the villainous Cameron Hodge in Genosha, his ashes were place on the grave of Doug Ramsey, also known as Cypher. Later on, Hodge created the Phalanx, humans infected with the techno-organic virus. These half-men, half-machine beings then attempted to absorb Warlock’s remains, as he was the originator of the virus. They ended up absorbing Cypher as well, and because the Phalanx could not incorporate Mutant DNA, they ended up creating an independent minded Phalanx called “Douglock.” This “Douglock” was actually Warlock, who used Doug Ramsey’s body and mind as a template to revive himself. Douglock joined Excalibur, but many in the team were unnerved by his similar appearance and mannerisms to Doug Ramsey. Though Douglock was able to make friends with the team, he regained his memories after an encounter with the Red Skull and became Warlock once again.

A four-fingered slave, created by the Mojoverse to be a TV star. Supposedly the hero who would free the Mojoverse from its tyrannical despot, he's had some trouble with that over the years. First appearing as a naive, lucky fool (and in a love triangle against his will with Rogue and Dazzler), then becoming a less naive, not quite as lucky, hero. Friends of his tend to end up in the worst way: Ricochet Rita was turned into Spiral, Dazzler miscarried their child. It's worth noting that he was the second non-mutant to join the team.

Also known as Bran Bradic, a man from a bleak alternate Earth who, like Brian, was approached by Meryln and Roma to choose the Amulet or the Sword. He chose the Sword, which Merlyn allowed him to keep, but incensed by their attitude, Bradic went on a one-man crusade, first to restore his world, then to get even with Roma. This eventually led him to Earth-616, where he fought the new Excalibur.
- Alternate Self: For Brian.
- Captain Patriotic: What the point of his powers were intended to be, Albion being an older name for England. He just decided to do something a little different.
- Cool Mask: Instead of the face-concealing helmet those who choose the Amulet get, he gets a golden mask.
- Evil Counterpart: Again, for Brian. He chose the Sword instead of the Amulet, and is far more unhinged and aggressive.
- One-Man Army: All the powers of Captain Britain, and a magic sword in the bargain. He single-handedly ended the endless war on his world, though it took him several years.
- Point of Divergence: In his universe, World War I never ended, it just kept going. It later turns out some interdimensional slavers were responsible, and when Bran found out about this... he wasn't happy.
- Screw You, Elves!: Toward Roma and Merlyn, pointing out it is the height of absolutely dickery to find someone on as horrific a world as his, offer them a way to restore it, and then take that option away for not meeting an arbitrary standard, never mind not having done anything to help in the first place.
- Worthy Opponent: His opinion of the New Excalibur team.

Coven Akkaba is a group of magic practitioners that boast descent from the original settlement of Akkaba, the birthplace of Apocalypse. Unlike Clan Akkaba, descendants of Apocalypse, Coven Akkaba is formed by baseline humans who boast descent from those who cast out Apocalypse after his birth. They are enemies also of Betsy Braddock once she becomes Captain Britain because they fear a mutant being the mystical champion of Britain.
