The Team In General
The Children of the Atom
- Ascended Fanboy: They all hero-worship the X-Men, to the point of completely basing their names and outfits on them. They actually get to take part in supeheroics and meet the X-Men.
- Kid Hero: They all go to the same high school, the Corbeau Preparatory High School.
- True Companions: It's clear that they are all best friends and would fight for each other.
Cyclops-Lass
Beatrice "Buddy" Bartholomew / Cyclops-Lass
Notable Aliases: ArchivistX
Nationality: American
Species: Human
First Appearance: Children of the Atom #1 (March, 2021)

- Alliterative Name: Beatrice "Buddy" Bartholomew.
- Boyish Short Hair: Buddy has blonde hair cut short, making her look a bit androgynous.
- The Leader: Like Cyclops she leads her team.
- Socially Awkward Hero: Buddy appears to be good at fighting crime, but still nervous at the "talking" part, often stumbling over her words. Outside of the costume, however, she does stand up to some anti-mutant bullies in school, but is still too nervous to ever tell her crush she likes him.
Gimmick / Feint
Carmen "Carm" Maria Cruz
Nationality: American
Species: Human mutant
First Appearance: Children of the Atom #1 (March, 2021)
Gimmick is a member of a new superhero team that patterned her look on the X-Men's Gambit.

- All Love Is Unrequited: Has an enormous crush on Buddy. By the end of the Children of the Atom, Buddy reciprocate her feelings and are officialy dating.
- Black and Nerdy: She is a huge Dazzler fan and also designed all of the team's costumes.
- The Fashionista: Carmen is a rookie fashion designer, having her own youtube channel focused on her work (which is pretty popular), and she is a big fan of Jumbo Carnation.
- The Heart: She was this with her friends of the Children of the Atom, as many of them relied in her for advice or help. She also was this in the X-men team formed by the Goblin Queen.
- Nice Girl: Unsurprisingly, in the Dark X-men team. An example of this is when she confronted Marisol Guerra after she incapacitated the other members of her team. Instead of fighting her, she tried to connect and reason with her.
- Improbable Weapon User: While Gambit likes throwing kinetically-charged playing cards, Gimmick appears to throw kinetically-charged hairpins. They still do a good amount of damage.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: It's eventually revealed that she is a mutant with the power of shapeshifting. She can also use her powers to change her clothes or create personal accesories like gas masks for herself.
Cherub

A member of a new superhero team who patterned his look on the X-Men's Angel.
- Academic Athlete: He lampshades this in the second issue, narrating how people assume that he's skating by because he's a good basketball player, when actually he's been in advanced math classes for a while and his grades have only dipped when his father was in the hospital with cancer.
- Affirmative-Action Legacy: A black Archangel.
- Big Brother Instinct: Has a younger sibling whom he calls "Space Case".
- Disappeared Dad: His dad was a firefighter who died of cancer. It obviously still affects him and is implied to be one of the reasons he is part of a group that fights crime.

- Keet: Imaging if Bart Allen was a teleporter instead of a speedster.
