Main Residents
In General
- Vague Age: They’re adult enough to live alone and have some kind of occupation; child enough to get into childish mischief. About the only thing that seems established is that Magellan is the 'kid' of the group.
Eureeka
Performed by: Cheryl Blaylock
The titular character, an Inept Mage who’s also the Voice of Reason to her friends.
- Ambiguously Human: She looks and acts very much like a normal human, but she’s also a Horned Humanoid.
- Character Catchphrase: "Aw, wand whiskers!"
- Inept Mage: She's still learning how to do magic, so very often, her spells backfire on her, usually as pun of what she was initially trying to do.
- Meaningful Name: A misspelling of "Eureka", a Greek phrase meaning "I found it".
- Parental Substitute: She's basically Magellan's mother.
- Team Mom: Eureeka is easily the most mature of the main characters, but she's not that mature.
- True Blue Femininity: She's always wearing her blue robe.
- Voice of Reason: Whenever someone in the castle has a problem, whether the Moat Twins are having an argument, or Magellan is upset about something, Eureeka will usually come up with some kind of solution.
Magellan
Performed by: Noel MacNeal
A large green dragon who acts pretty childish despite his size.
- Affectionate Nickname: Batly calls him "Magelly".
- The Baby of the Bunch: He's easily the most immature of the group.
- Delightful Dragon: Magellan is a friendly dragon with a child-like personality who is taken care of by Eureeka.
- Does Not Know His Own Strength: Due to his size, he is quite strong, but it typically causes more problems than it solves, both for him and everyone else, such as the time he accidentally destroyed the birdhouse Mr. Knack was building when he was trying to help hammer on the roof.
- Fully-Dressed Cartoon Animal: While he is mostly seen from the waist up on the show, his merchandise, as well as his illustrated appearances depict him wearing pants and shoes along with his shirt.
- Gentle Giant: He towers over everyone else, but he's easily the nicest character on the show and would never harm anyone... well, not on purpose anyway.
- Organ Autonomy: Magellan's tail seems to have a mind of its own. He'll even talk to it. Needless to say, this helps contribute to Magellan's clumsiness.
- Signature Laugh: A deep throaty "huh huh huh huh!"
- Sneeze of Doom: Whenever Magellan gets upset, he tends to make sneezes so powerful, that they shake the whole castle and himself. They're so powerful, that they actually once broke one of Eureeka's spells; she had accidentally turned Magellan into a bat at the time, but his sneeze turned him back into a dragon.
Batly
Performed by: Jim Kroupa
A klutzy, egotistical bat with glasses. Usually seen with Magellan.
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: He's blue.
- Animals Hate Him: Cooey dislikes him greatly. To be fair, this isn't completely unjustified (Batly ate Cooey's dinner once). Webster isn't particular fond of Batly either, often disobeying his orders.
- Blind Bats: Batly wears glasses, but often crashes into things. He's even more clumsy without his glasses.
- Blind Without 'Em: Batly is even clumsier when he loses his glasses.
- Captain Crash: If Batly is seen flying anywhere, he will almost inevitably crash. After which, he will usually say, "I Meant to Do That." Sometimes, even if he isn't flying, he'll crash into something or knock something over.
- Character Catchphrase: "I meant to do that!"
- Failure Is the Only Option: Batly will never succeed in eating the Slurms. The one time he even catches one of them, he's subjected to a Metronomic Man Mashing.
- Hidden Depths: Batly is shown to be a good dancer often. Even Magellan, who is usually pretty blunt about Batly's (lack of) singing ability, concedes that Batly can dance well.
- Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Although he can sing well too at times depending on the episode.
- I Meant to Do That: It’s even his catchphrase!
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Especially when it comes to his friendship with Magellan.
- A Lizard Named "Liz": A bat named Batly.
- Small Name, Big Ego: Batly thinks he's this amazing genius, but is really just a klutz who's inept at most things he tries. His "I Am" Song draws special attention to this.
The Moat Twins
Performed by: Brian Muehl (Bogge) and Pam Arciero (Quagmire)
Two Half Identical Twin monsters who usually swim around in the castle moat.
- Argument of Contradictions: A lot of the Moat Twins' arguing consists of this. Sometimes falling into Duck Season, Rabbit Season territory.
- Collector of the Strange: Their most prominent trait is that they like to collect any weird cast-offs that come their way (or in some cases, things they steal). Their "I Am" Song is about how much they love to collect things.
- Cute Little Fangs: Both of them have a snaggletooth.
- Failure Is the Only Option: Bogge and Quagmire will never successfully con Magellan out of his peanut butter sandwich. Ever. Bogge did succeed on his own in eating Magellan's sandwich once and commented on how full he was, only to find out that Magellan was about to give him the two peanut butter sandwiches Eureeka made for his lunch, but since Bogge said he wasn't hungry anymore, he took them for himself.
- The Gadfly: They love to play tricks and mess with people. The always naïve Magellan seems to be their favorite target
- Jerkass: Both of them have very few redeeming qualities.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: On the other hand, there are moments when the twins show they have a good heart. In "Christmas at Eureeka's Castle", they show concern for Magellan when he wanders into the darkest parts of the woods to find a suitable Christmas tree.
- Pink Means Feminine: Quagmire is pink.
- Punny Name: Bogge and Quagmire are both terms for "swamp".
- Sibling Rivalry: The moat twins pretty much always annoy each other and fight except for when they team up to try to steal Magellan's sandwiches.
- Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Quagmire wears a bow.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: The Moat Twins frequently argue and fight, but they seem to enjoy it, and they miss each other when separated for too long.
Mr. Knack
Performed by: Brain Muehl
A Cloud Cuckoo Lander handyman with a vaguely European accent.
- Ambiguously Brown: He's noticeably darker than Eureeka or the Giant.
- Catchphrase: "Heavens to bootsy!"
- Complexity Addiction: He'll often imagine up an elaborate and impractical to implement Rube Goldberg Device to solve a minor problem and become disappointed when someone else shows up with a simpler solution.
- Collector of the Strange: Not quite to the same extent as the Moat Twins, but his love of making trades has resulted in him accruing a large inventory of weird items.
- Don't Call Me "Sir"!: One of the running gags involves Mr. Knack insisting on the others calling him Nick, causing them to reply, "Oh… Nick Knack," to which someone else (usually one of the mice) will chime in and sing, "Paddywack, give a dog a bone!"
- Last-Name Basis: Mainly because his full name sets off the above-mentioned Running Gag.
- Mad Libs Catchphrase: His "As my Granny Tusnelda used to say..."
- Mr. Fixit: If something in the castle needs repair, he will usually be the one to fix it. His "I Am" Song is about how he is a handyman who likes to fix things.
- Never Bare Headed: Mr. Knack almost always wears his aviator helmet, and if not, he's wearing some other kind of hat.
- Non-Specifically Foreign: He has a nondescript European accent. His puppeteer, Brian Muehl, was instructed to perform him as though he came from a country called "Ethnia".
- Parental Substitute: Serves as a kind of father figure to Magellan when Eureeka isn't around.
- Pro Bono Barter: Mr. Knack will, by his own admission, "trade anything for anything". So he frequently trades things from his cart to the other characters in exchange for useless or even intangible things (Magellan once traded him his hiccups).
- Punny Name: His full name is "Nick Knack".
- Token Human: Implied, given that he’s the only human puppet that doesn’t have any monstrous features.
- What the Hell Is That Accent??: Justified since he’s from a fictional country.
Minor Residents
The Mice
Performed by: Jim Kroupa (Sir Klank), Lynn Hippen (Kate), Pam Arciero (Emma)
A group of three mice you pop up every now and again.- Big Eater: Emma, who usually has to apologize for eating all of the food.
- Pungeon Master: All of them, they have whole segments where they just tell the viewer puns.
- Running Gag: Sir Klank's suit of armor falling down on his face.
Cooey
Performed by: Lynn Hippen
Megellan’s pet... thing.- Pokémon Speak: Cooey is only able to say "Coo", although Magellan is perfectly capable of understanding him.
Webster

Batly's pet spider.
- A Lizard Named "Liz": A spider named "Webster".
- Fuzzball Spider: A spider that looks like a fuzzy ball with legs and a face.
