    Jiang Haoyi
The protagonist of the story. Haoyi is a 19-year-old college student whose only aim is to live through his life without standing out. However, everything does a turn around when three girls he has never talked with claim he is their boyfriend: this is a result of the four of them eating a cake, the Cupid's Chocolate, that has given the girls false memories of being in a relationship with him. The only way to revert this and restore the girls' proper memories is to fulfill each girl's deepest desire.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Makes for a convincing (and cute) girl when he's dressed in a Meido cosplay outfit.
  • Butt-Monkey: Poor guy cannot spend an episode without being attacked or being accused of something he's innocent of.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Past trauma has turned this highly skilled badass into a disillusioned loner, not putting any sort of effort into anything if he can help it.
  • Cowardly Lion: The biggest wuss in town, by his own admission. Don't push him though.
  • Cynicism Catalyst: When he was young, a group of burglars entered his home, attacked him and attempted to kidnap him, and his father (a policeman) never even checked on him after the incident. This caused Haoyi to lose interest in becoming a policeman...and everything else. After all, if dear old dad couldn't be bothered, why should he?
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Being the target of a kidnapping attempt and his father not appearing to care about it gave him plenty of trauma.
  • Driven to Suicide: Jumps from the top of a building in chapter 1 to avoid the girls' enraged devotees. Mai Tata saves him by slowing down time.
  • Freudian Excuse: A large part of why he wants a normal, uneventful life was due to his parents not being home very often while he was growing up, and Xueli acting cold and harsh towards him suddenly while they were kids.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: He's often chased down by mobs, after being falsely accused of doing naughty things with the girls.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: He was perfectly content with the single life of being a nobody before all this started, and wants nothing more than to get back to that.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: The effect of the Cupid's Chocolate turns him into this for the girls due to the false memories they receive.
  • No Guy Wants an Amazon: Played With. Haoyi is terrified of Xueli, who is willing to even injure or cripple him if that's what it takes to make him stay with her. However, she is legitimately a danger to herself and others, and his apprehension is justified.
  • No Guy Wants to Be Chased: Played With. At the moment, Haoyi is only looking to live a quiet, uneventful life. Thus, the number of women who are after him (especially the aggressive and/or popular ones) are extremely unwelcome.
  • Ordinary High-School Student: Well, Ordinary College Student. He is one of the smartest students in his class, but does his best not to stand out. He is actually a Brilliant, but Lazy Genius Bruiser who lost all interest in both study and combat due to his Cynicism Catalyst.
  • Unwanted Harem: One day, all of a sudden, three girls he does not know at all suddenly declare themselves to be his girlfriend/wife - and that on top of his Childhood Friend Yandere Stalker with a Crush. He couldn't be less enthused if he tried.

     Mei Tata
A love goddess who was responsible for leaving the titular chocolate at Haoyi's school, and thus causing all of the problem sin his life.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: After a short while, she begins to have feelings for Haoyi and becomes jealous of the attention he gets from other girls.
  • Divine Intervention: She often does this for Haoyi, such as saving him for dying after he jumps off the top of a building to avoid a murderous crowd at his university, or stopping a truck from fatally hitting him.
  • God Is Inept: She is an angel of love from the heavens, but is so bad at her job that she actually ends up causing way more problems.
  • Love Goddess: She is a love goddess, but is really bad at her job.
  • Ms. Exposition: She explains the rules of Cupid's Chocolate and also explains quite a bit about magical power and abilties in general.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her mini dress has a low-cut neckline that reaches her stomach.
  • Shipper on Deck: Her whole point with the chocolate cake that causes humans to fall in love with each other if they eat the same cake.

    Xia Zitong
The college idol, Xia Zitong is famous all over the campus due to her beauty and her sweet personality - and is the one that kickstarts the story by walking up to Haoyi and telling him she's pregnant with her son.
  • Fake Memories: She has false memories of Haoyi promising to marry her and getting her pregnant.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: Says this several times to people who think she's Xaoyi's girlfriend.
  • Impossibly-Low Neckline: Her dress has a pretty low neckline.
  • Mistaken for Pregnant: Enters the story by telling Haoyi she's pregnant by him. He ends up taking her to a hospital, where she is surprised to learn she isn't actually pregnant.
  • Romantic Fakeā€“Real Turn: Ends up falling for Haoyi for real after he helps her with her problem.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: She's the nicest of all of the girls that want to be with Haoyi.
  • When You Coming Home, Dad?: The root of her problem is the almost permanent absence of her father, a millionaire who ensured she could live in a mansion and never want for anything, but is barely at home himself - to the point that Zitong considers the last time they had lunch together (more than a year before the beginning of the story) the best of his life. Haoyi giving the man a stern What the Hell, Hero? makes the man realize his error.

    Tang Xuan
The captain of the athletics team, Tang Xuan is a tough-as-nails Tank-Top Tomboy who is not very happy to learn that her "boyfriend" Jiang Haoji appears to be cuckolding her with two other girls, even when he swears up and down that he doesn't know any of them - or her.
  • Bully Hunter: She met her two best friends by fighting off a bunch of guys who were bullying them.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Displays this from time to time, especially if Xueli is around.
  • Dumb Jock: Downplayed. She's not stupid by any means, but her notes are described as "average".
  • Fake Memories: Eating the Cupid's Chocolate makes her think Haoji is her boyfriend.
  • Hidden Depths: Likes cosplaying and has won several contests, but keeps this hidden from her friends because she's afraid to lose them. Haoji helps her win one such contest and be more open about her hobby, which turns out to be the wish she wanted to fulfil.
  • Hopeless Suitor: She likes Xaoyi, but doesn't act on her feelings because she doesn't think she has a chance against Xia.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: After seeing how comfortable Xia was with Xaoyi several times, she tries to be a Shipper on Deck for them.
  • Secret-Keeper: She likes to cosplay, but hides it while around school. Haoyi then makes a bet with her to have her wear a maid outfit if he placed first in an upcoming exam. He never tells anyone about her cosplaying, and goes about it in a way so that she could do it at school. It works, as students find her outfit cute, and a few female club members joins her with her cosplay.
  • Tank-Top Tomboy: She's a tomboyish athlete and basketball player who almost always wears a tank top. Her true and secret passion is wearing cute, feminine cosplay outfits.
  • Tsundere: Puts a tough front and tends to overreact to anything Haoyi does or says, because she is in denial of her feelings.

    Ling Yuan
The college's smartest student, Ling Yuan is studious and meticulous - and is the third girl to appear in Haoyi's life by claiming the two of them are married and have two children together.
  • Fake Memories: Cupid's Chocolate gives her memories of a married life with Haoyi and two children.
  • The Smart Girl: The number one student of the entire college.
  • The Stoic: She rarely shows intense emotions, even when she's very happy or angry.
  • Throw the Book at Them: Uses a book in chapter 1 to slap Haoji when he claims not to know her.
  • When You Coming Home, Dad?: Her father left her and her mother at some point in her youth, and she wishes him to return. Unknowingly to her, her biological father died around the time her mother found out she was pregnant with her, and the man she knows as her father is actually her stepfather, who left because he could not accept being father to a girl that wasn't his daughter. The man returns after Yuan almost dies from being run over by a truck.

    Ouyang Xueli
Haoji's Childhood Friend, she is obsessed with him, having become a Yandere whose main aim is to make Haoji love her. Whatever it takes.
  • The Bus Came Back: Zigzagged repeatedly. She shows up throughout the show, and is often apprehended by her mother who then takes her back to the US. She ends up butting heads with the other girls regarding Haoyi.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Does not like seeing Haoyi being around other girls. She often has Yandere tendencies as well, and often carries an oversized sword with her.
  • Damsel in Distress: Gets kidnapped by Du Yuze, her ex-boyfriend, when she refuses to help with his plan to convince her mother to save his family's failing business.
  • Despair Event Horizon: When Du Yuze broke up with her in front of their entire school, Xueli was so humiliated that everyone in the school began mocking her, completely ruining her reputation and prompting her to drop out. When Haoyi came to check up on her, she demanded that he can never leave her again and at that moment and gave up on everything except getting his love by any means necessary.
  • Didn't Think This Through: She became ultra-competitive with Haoyi at some point in their childhoods, expecting that her winning against him would make him fall in love with her - only for this to actually turn him off and want to stay away from her. She then decided to make him jealous by dating another guy, only for said guy to break up with her publicly in the most humiliating possible way.
  • The Dreaded: Haoyi fears her with good reason.
  • Faking Amnesia: When she awakens in the hospital after getting stabbed by Du Yuze, she claims she doesn't recognize Haoyi, though she at least remembers her parents. After he gives her a brief summary of what they were like growing up, he promised to protect her. She then embraces him, and tells him he'd better keep that promise. The other girls are not happy when they walk into her room and overhears her.
  • First Kiss: The first time she ever kissed Haoyi wasn't a tender moment of love — it was an awkward, unhinged kiss which signaled her descent into madness.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She has several minor moments of this when growing up.
    • Trying to beat Haoyi academically because her mother told her that he'd only be interested if she could beat him. She slowly realizes that everything she tried to do in regards to this, such as refusing a gift from him, to being way too competitive backfires. Instead of making Haoyi more interested in her, he starts to distance himself from her.
    • She has a major one after accidentally causing a fire at a camping trip while trying to attack Tang Xuan. Ling Yuan ends up doing a What the Hell, Hero? on her, telling her if either Tang Xuan or Xia Zitong drowned after they fell into a nearby river, Haoyi would never forgive her.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Is obsessed with Haoyi, and despite doing various things to try and get his attention, and having them backfire on her, she still wants to be with him.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Completely obsessed with Haoyi, following him everywhere with a sword in hand.
  • Taking the Bullet: Does this twice to save Haoyi. The first time was when one of Du Yuze's thugs were about to hit him with a club. Later before he's detained by the police, Du Yuze attempts to stab Haoyi with a hidden knife. She also jumps in front of that, taking the blow.
  • Tsundere: At some point in their childhoods, Xueli turned into an abrasive tsundere that was extremely competitive with Haoyi - wanting to beat him at everything.
  • Yandere: She's always carrying a sword around and is not shy about threatening to use it or any other weapon on any girl she believes to be a threat to her love for Haoyi or on Haoyi himself.

     Du Yuze
Xueli's ex-boyfriend from high school.
  • Asshole Victim: He publicly humiliates Xueli at a dance party by stating he was going to marry some random girl while she was dating him. Later he kidnaps her and tries to Black Mail her. Finally, he tries to stab Haoyi in a fit of rage with a hidden knife shortly before he's detained by the police.
  • "Blackmail" Is Such an Ugly Word: He wants Xueli to help convince her mother to rescue his family's failing business. She seems to agree at first, but then adamantly refuses later on. He then implies he's going to do something to Haoyi, prompting her to leave her room, and get kidnapped by some thugs he hired. He was also about to resort to stripping her naked and filming it to get her mother to cooperate.
  • The Casanova: He gets female attention everywhere he goes, and uses it to inflate his massive ego.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: He claims that his company was "framed" for corruption, but his personality and practices imply that this was a bald-faced lie.
  • The Dreaded: Even Xueli is terrified of him, and for very good reason.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Admits that he hated how Xueli was a bit too arrogant in middle school, and that she still liked Haoyi while they were dating.
  • Hate Sink: He is a complete bastard. Being the most popular boy in high school, he chose to date Xueli just for the sake of using her as disposable eye candy, and then dumped her in front of the entire school in the most humiliating way possible. Years later, he comes back to town simply to seduce her and convince her wealthy mother to bail out his failing company. When that fails, he switches to threatening her, and when that doesn't work, he then threatens Haoyi instead. And lastly, he and his cronies kidnap her and threaten to rape her unless her mother cooperates. Then, when Haoyi arrives to help, they beat him with weapons. When the police finally arrive, Du Yuze makes one final attempt to kill Haoyi with a knife, but Xueli takes the blow for Haoyi.
  • Sadist: He enjoys seeing people (Xueli in particular) cowering and wimpering in fear of him, and took great pleasure in making her school life so miserable that she quit.
  • Shame If Something Happened: When Xueli refuses to go along with his plans, Du Yuze then says he will "talk" with his dear junior, Haoyi. Fearing the worst, she leaves her room and gets kidnapped by some thugs Du Yuze hired.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: In a funny harem comedy with silly magical elements, Du Yuze is an abusive, sadistic stalker that threatens to rape his ex for the sake of saving his corrupt business. When beaten, he takes one last attempt to kill Haoyi. He is by far the most despicable villain in the entire series.

     Mrs. Ouyang
Xueli's mother and the owner of an international corporation
  • Affectionate Nickname: Due to knowing her all his life, Haoyi refers to her as "Auntie".
  • Always Someone Better: As strong and capable as Xueli is, her mother makes her look like an absolute weakling by comparison. When the two briefly fought over whether Xueli stayed in China or came back to America, Xueli got knocked out in seconds.
  • My Beloved Smother: She is completely controlling of every aspect of Xueli's life. Every time Xueli runs back to China to reunite with Haoyi, Mrs. Ouyang finds her and drags her back.
  • Shipper with an Agenda: She supports Xueli's interest in Haoyi — for a purpose. Haoyi being better than her at academics, martial arts and other subjects allowed Mrs. Ouyang to motivate her daughter by saying that to win his love, she's had to beat him at everything. This actually ended up pushing Haoyi further away, but Mrs. Ouyang didn't really care because Xueli was now #1, and she got what she wanted. In fact, Haoyi's rapid decline in achievements made her stop caring about him one way or another.
  • Still Got It: Her first scene has her knocking out her armed daughter within a matter of seconds, with Haoyi's stunned classmates proclaiming, "Old but still good!".
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: By telling her daughter to outdo Haoyi, she wound up causing almost all of the pain in both their lives. Without her interference, Haoyi and Xueli would probably still be very close and Haoyi would have had less reason to give up on school. Not that she cares either way.
