The Ungifted

    Belle
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/belle_0.png
The protagonist of Curse Crackers: For Whom The Belle Toils. Formerly an acrobat, she's unsure of what she wants to do now as an Ungifted.
  • Badass Normal: She may be an Ungifted, but she still has some impressive moves as an acrobat that she utilizes through the different levels both against the environment and the enemies.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's usually nice and helpful to people, but when Leadra seemingly kills Chime, she becomes really angry to the point where one of the scenes right before the final boss shows her with a red flame effect, implied to be Malice.
  • Blue Is Heroic: Played with. While her outfit is blue, as shown in official art and in the menu of Curse Crackers, her sprites are pink all over. What makes it unusual is the fact that in cutscenes, while the other characters are correctly colored, she's still shown as pink there.
  • Braids of Action: She wears her hair in a single braid with a bell at the end of it.
  • Circus Brat: It's suggested that she was this in her youth, as she grew up and became an acrobat at the Carnival, and a falling out she had with Bonnie resulted in her throwing away the latter's pendant.
  • Domino Mask: She wears a mask over her eyes as part of her acrobat outfit.
  • Muggle Born of Mages: Possibly. It's hinted that the jester at the Dawn Carnival, whose pointy ears suggest that she is Gifted, is Belle's mother, but it's unknown if they are biologically related or not.
  • Oblivious to Love: She fails to realise that Hawk has a crush on her, unknowingly putting him in the friend zone.
  • Parental Neglect: It's hinted that she has a difficult relationship with her mother, who apparently left her to grow up at the Carnival. There's also some information that suggests that her mother is a wanted criminal.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Downplayed; Belle has pink hair and is nice and friendly towards most people and can be helpful, but Fione says at the end of her sidequest in Curse Crackers that Belle's house has a lot of Malice surrounding it, and that Belle herself has a seed that hasn't grown yet because something is preventing it from doing so, suggesting that Belle might have a more malicious side that she's trying to suppress.
    Claire
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/claire_1.png
An Ungifted baker who offers useful consumable items in Curse Crackers, and the protagonist of the upcoming game Claire a la Mode.
  • Artsy Beret: She wears a beret, and is a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to her baked goods.
  • Power-Up Food: In Curse Crackers, she has four different foods that can be fed to Chime to give him a temporary power up, although they require you to find an ingredient the first time you play through the fourth stage of the first four worlds. The Skycakes will make Chime blow up like a balloon, the Angel Donuts will make him grow wings, the Blaze Cupcakes will give him a fire effect, and the Phantom Flan will turn him and Belle invisible and partially intangible.
  • Recurring Traveller: She appears in the fourth level of each of the first four worlds in Curse Crackers, requiring you to fetch an item for her somewhere in the level in order to progress. She also appears in some of the Hollow levels where one of her items will be needed to make your way to the next room.
  • Sweet Baker: She's quite nice and friendly, and if you complete the sidequest in Curse Crackers that leads to her working at the Hearth Inn, she'll let you have her items at any time for free. The items are also free in the levels she appears in.
    Caroline
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/caroline_33.png
A woman who is looking for her father.

For her topes, see Colorgrave Universe Lyrian

    Ema

Ema Parish

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ema_4.png
A young girl who appears Ungifted but brave, and the daughter of Caroline.
  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: Part of a sidequest in Curse Crackers involves letting her play with Chime, where you'll get to play as her for a dodgeball minigame against some bullies.
  • Cutting Off the Branches: Her existence reveals that Caroline canonically married Hugh in Prodigal.
  • Dead Guy Junior: One of the graves in Prodigal is labelled "Ema Crowl", implied to be the wife of Amadeus, and Caroline's mother, meaning that after finding out about her parentage, Caroline decided to name her daughter after her.
  • Plucky Girl: She stands up to 3 bullies who were being mean to Yana and challenges them to a game of dodgeball with only Chime to help her, saying that she'll even hold back to make it easier for them.
  • Wrong Context Magic: Word of God has stated that despite lacking the gifts of the Scales, Ema is capable of magic, but it remains unknown exactly how, whether it's because her grandmother was possibly a Gifted Ledamran or through something else.
    Prizemaster
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prizemaster.png
A mysterious Ungifted woman who runs a few games with varying prizes.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": She's only known as "Prizemaster", with that possibly being her Subtitle.
  • Hidden Depths: Her character introduction on Twitter reveals that she's skilled and well-known enough to be considered a Subtitled, and that some of those who are prejudiced towards the Ungifted have tried and failed to defeat her. She's also one of the characters shown to have a score in Curse Crackers' Arcade Mode, and in the main game it's implied that she beat an Oathen, one of the stronger types of Gifted.
  • Loophole Abuse: Gambling is illegal in Ledamra, but she gets around it by claiming that they're just games of luck and chance that you happen to have to pay for.

The Hearthen

    In General
A race who were gifted by Hearthlove. They have rabbit ears that they can hear other people's feelings with, and they can also bring objects to life.
  • The Empath: Their rabbit ears allow them to hear the emotions of the people around them, although some are better at it than others.
    Bonnie

Bonnie Phel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bonnie_26.png
Belle's Hearthen childhood friend turned rival. After a falling out they had years ago, she returns one day to kidnap Clyde while he and Belle are on a date.
  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: A quest in the post-game of Curse Crackers has Belle going missing, and you playing as Bonnie in order to rescue her. Unlike Belle, Bonnie can't jump on enemies and must instead either throw her scythe at them or do a slam attack. She also doesn't jump as high, but makes up for it by being able to wall jump instead.
  • Anti-Villain: Bonnie isn't really that evil or even malicious (no one ever comments on any Malice she might have), she was just upset with Belle for throwing away her locket during an argument they had as kids, and kidnapped Clyde while leaving her skeletal minions for Belle to deal with because she sensed her depression and wanted to motivate her. While the exact reason she stole the scythe is unknown, it's suggested that she thought Belle would be more than capable of defeating her without it despite having no magic of her own while Bonnie was already quite powerful. It's also only Belle and the Knights that she's really a threat towards - she doesn't try to fight anyone else.
  • Cool Mask: Her "Riot" mode includes a hood and a rabbit mask.
  • Defeat Means Playable: Downplayed in Curse Crackers in that you don't get to play as her right after defeating her, instead having to complete a series of post-game quests. After that, you can switch to Bonnie, play as her in Arcade Mode, or start a new Adventure Mode save file as her.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: In Curse Crackers, after you defeat her, she gets kidnapped by Tedra and Leer, who are implied to be sparing her because she's powerful and therefore valuable to them. The two then take over as the main antagonists, and their fusion is fought as the final boss.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's often quite snarky and has become a wanted criminal after stealing a powerful artifact, taking over the abandoned Library, and kidnapping Clyde, but even if she is still bitter about her argument with Belle from years ago, she still cares about her. Part of the reason she kidnapped Clyde was to help Belle regain the motivation she'd lost, and it's implied that Bonnie sprayed graffiti on Clyde's armor (twice, even) as revenge for him breaking up with Belle. She's also shown to be friendly towards children.
  • Not Me This Time: Playing a new save file as Bonnie allows her to have a conversation with Tedra, where it's revealed that the cauldrons seen at the end of most levels weren't actually Bonnie's doing, but were instead left by Tedra and Leer; Tedra's dialogue implies that they were meant to be some kind of bomb. Bonnie lampshades the fact that everyone will assume that she left them.
  • Silent Scapegoat: Possibly. In the postgame ending, Bonnie returns from the Colorless Void after rescuing Belle and Chime to find that Sir Toan and some of his Knights are there to not only arrest her, but also Belle, Jess, and Vivian for rebuilding the Dawn Gate. However, Sir Toan tells Bonnie that he'll leave them alone if she gives herself up without a fight, implying that she'll not only be punished for stealing the scythe, but will also have taken the blame for opening the portal in order to protect Belle and her friends.
  • Sinister Scythe: Her weapon is a scythe. According to some people, it's called Hollow Whimsy and used to belong to a Titled warrior called Penbrook the Clown. Bonnie stole it from the Grave many years later.
  • Super Mode: When she confronts Colorgrave, in the postgame of Curse Crackers, she uses the scythe to transform into her "Riot" mode, which makes her able to fly and becomes temporarily invisible at times, as well as being stronger against enemies. This lasts until her "magic" points run out, and once you've beaten the segment it first appears in, can be done at any time you play as her.
    Hawk
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hawk_43.png
A Hearthen who used to live in the Wildnerness with his brother; he now works as a bouncer and occasionally a waiter at the Hearth Inn.
  • Hopeless Suitor: It's obvious that he has a crush on Belle, but she keeps believing that he just wants to be friends with her. He ends up rejecting Willow because he thinks it would be unfair to lead her on when he's in love with someone else, not realising that even if Belle was aware, she would probably still not be interested.
  • Promotion to Parent: He and his younger brother fled from the Wildnerness after an attack, where he found a job to support them both, as well as a chance to get his brother into school.
  • Theme Naming: His name is Hawk and his brother's name is Falcon; both names are also birds of prey.

The Forgen

    In General
A race who were gifted by Cradleforge. They have crystal on parts of their skin, which allow them to resist extreme temperatures.
  • Gem Tissue: Parts of their skin are made from crystal, which help them to resist heat as the Forgen mostly consists of blacksmiths and builders.
  • Horned Humanoid: Most Forgen have pieces of crystal on their heads that resemble horns.
    Ursyla
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ursyla.png
A formerly Titled Forgen looking to get revenge against the one who caused her to lose her Title.
  • Everyone Has Standards: When Clyde tells Belle that they were never technically dating and that he's had enough of her and Bonnie's antics, Ursyla tells him not to be so harsh despite being rather mean herself, suggesting that even she wouldn't go so far as to berate someone she just broke up with.
  • The Ex's New Jerkass: Clyde starts dating her after breaking up with Belle, and she's quite rude to people and isn't happy about her lost Title, wanting to get revenge on Vivian for taking it from her (and later fighting Belle when she finds Ursyla at Vivian's house). It's hard to feel sorry for her when Clyde ends up dumping her as well.
  • Parasol of Pain: She uses a spiked umbrella during her boss battle in Curse Crackers, causing damage if you try to jump on her while she has it out.
  • Superboss: She's probably the hardest boss in Curse Crackers, with lots of attacks that come up out of the floor, and two stages. Being able to even fight her in the first place requires rescuing Clyde, getting enough roses to open the portal near Vivian's house, and completing all of the levels in the Cursed Book.
  • Uncertain Doom: During her boss battle in Curse Crackers, her attacks start to include manifestations of Malice. At the end, it's implied that her seed has started to grow and she collapses, but then Belle is knocked out and Ursyla is gone when she wakes up. It's unknown if the growth was prevented or if it completed and she became a Malevolent, effectively killing her.

The Mournlen

    In General
A race who were gifted by Mournless. They have the ability to increase the powers of others, and are associated with having fun.
  • For Happiness: They're known for having the most celebrations and parties, and at least one of them runs a resort, which is specifically to increase levels of happiness in an attempt to reduce Malice.
  • Shark Man: Downplayed; while they don't look completely like anthropomorphic sharks, they have have shark-like features like sharp teeth, and ears and hair spikes that resemble fins.
    Lyle
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lyle_63.png
A Mournlen Knight who helps to protect the city of Grevenfel.
  • Moving the Goalposts: In Curse Crackers, he tells Belle that to earn his approval, she must earn 5 Speed Medals. Once she's done that, he then tells her it was actually 10 that she had to earn.

The Gazen

    In General
A race who were gifted by Blindgaze. They are able to see Malice, with some of them trying to prevent those who have it from being overcome by it.
  • Aura Vision: They have the ability to see Malice, as well as the seeds that can appear within people who have enough of it.
    Yana
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yana_9.png
A young Gazen who is bullied by the other kids, and wants to be a Knight when she grows up.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Some of the other kids bully her for being the only Gazen of her age on Hollore, thinking that she looks strange and distrusting her sight. This largely stops after Ema stands up to them, and Yana invites them to her birthday party.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: She invites the 3 bullies to her birthday party after Ema beats them at dodgeball because she thinks it would be an endless cycle if they kept on being antagonistic towards each other.
  • Shipper on Deck: She can clearly tell that her father has a crush on Coal and wants to ask her out, and is fully supportive of it.
    Fione
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fione.png
A Gazen who spent most of her time on the moon, and wants to explore the world below.
  • Innocently Insensitive: She doesn't seem to realise how alarmed Belle is when she tells her that her house is surrounded by a huge amount of Malice, and that Belle has a seed that hasn't bloomed yet for some reason. The fact that she seemed excited about it didn't help.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: She's fascinated by the effects of Malice, saying that she finds it exciting how it can manifest as Spites and turn people into Malevolents by growing out of their bodies and destroying them.

The Loren

    In General
A race who were gifted by Lorebright. They cannot use magic until their antlers grow in, but they make up for it by having long lifespans.
  • Blessed with Suck: They aren't able to use magic until their antlers grow in... And just like with all the Gifted races, only the females can actually use that magic. The males still have long lifespans, though, but Sir Toan mentions that he's outlived many people because of it, and doesn't seem too happy about that.
  • Long-Lived: It's implied that they can live for hundreds of years, which is much longer compared to the other Ledamran races.
    Maggie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maggie_37.png
A Loren scholar who teaches children of all types.
  • Parental Substitute: It's suggested that she looked after Belle the most when her own parents abandoned her, and may have also done the same for Bonnie after her parents died.
  • Stern Teacher: She's quite strict when giving the tutorial to Belle in Curse Crackers, telling her that she's become more lazy since she quit being an acrobat, but still cares enough to wake her up and give the tutorial in the first place, and she's also one of the few people concerned about Malice who isn't a Gazen.
    Elinore
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elinore.png
A Loren merchant who is known for charging high prices for her goods.
  • Honest John's Dealership: People complain about how expensive her items are known to be, and it's also shown that she doesn't pay Claire enough of the profits from selling her food. Averted with the Cursed Skull in Curse Crackers, though, since she sells it for only 1 Coin while warning you of its danger. Also downplayed with her key in the same game, which she says can unlock any door, even ones that require a Crystal Key; however, it will not unlock the door that leads to where Clyde is imprisoned, which instead opens after completing the main story. In fairness, that door appears to be locked with chains rather than something that's part of the door itself.
  • Only Shop in Town: She seems to own the only shops on the island of Hollore, which is why people still buy from her despite feeling like they're being ripped off.
    Vivian
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vivian_3.png
A "young" Loren Mage who is good at working with portals.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Despite being turned into a child and left unable to use magic, she was still able to defeat Ursyla, a powerful Titled, causing her to become a Subtitled. And she did it completely by accident. The fact that there are several arrows seen near the area where you find her in Curse Crackers suggests that she put up a good fight against Tedra and Leer before they finally caught her.
  • De-power: Loren are unable to use magic until their antlers grow in, so her being de-aged has effectively rendered her powerless. She's still good at fighting and working with portals, though.
  • Fountain of Youth: She used to be an adult, but then got turned into a child by someone (implied to be Lorebright) after playing a prank on her.
  • The Gadfly: She likes to tease people, and it's implied that that's what got her de-aged. One notable instance has her claiming that she doesn't know where the portal Belle helped her rebuild goes to, and suggests that Belle has a look by herself, leading to her tresspassing in what is hinted to be Lorebright's tower and getting trapped in a book. When she returns, she calls Vivian out on knowing all along where the portal went to.
  • Older Than They Look: She looks like a child but claims to be much older. One possible conversation you can have with her in Curse Crackers will reveal that someone turned her into a child. While her exact age is unknown, Loren have longer lifespans than other Ledamrans, meaning that she could possibly be over a hundred years old.

    The Fisherman (SPOILERS

Sir Toan the Salamander

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toan_4.png
A melancholy, taciturn Loren who can be found fishing on a bridge near town. He is eventually revealed to be Sir Toan, leader of Ledamra's Knights and a veteran of the ancient war against the Graven.
  • Ambiguous Situation: It's heavily implied that he has a history with Belle's mother, warning her not to "repeat her mother's mistake" when she tries to interfere in Bonnie's arrest, but the exact specifics are not yet known.
    • Shortly before this, he claims that he can't return to Hyrain empty handed, suggesting that there's a higher authority in the Knights that he answers to, and one that demanded he find someone to punish for opening the portal to the Colorless Void.
  • Awakening the Sleeping Giant: It's noted that he prefers to stay in the background and let his Knights handle enforcing Ledamra's laws, so the fact that he personally shows up to apprehend Bonnie at the end of the postgame shows just how badly she screwed up in stealing the scythe, and that it really wasn't a good idea for Belle, Jess, and Vivian to rebuild the Dawn Gate leading to the Colorless Void.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: He initially seems to just be a simple NPC, but eventually turns out to be much more important than that. Even before then, he is first mentioned during a sidequest in Prodigal, which can easily be overlooked.
  • Da Chief: As leader of the Knights, its his duty to ensure the capture of lawbreakers and that the Titled system is upheld.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Being a Loren, he's lived long enough to have witnessed the war of the Scales that happened centuries ago. According to Burg, one of the Graven you meet in Prodigal, he initially didn't care about the war until he was apparently killed by Mages, which may have been the cause of his scars and his change in attitude.
  • Fiery Salamander: His Title is the Salamander, which is possibly related to his scars from being burned.
  • Eyepatch of Power: His left eye is covered with a cybernetic prosthetic.
  • Hero Antagonist: His actions at the end of the postgame have no malice behind them; he's simply doing his duty as an enforcer of Ledamra's laws.
  • Not Quite Dead: He's first mentioned by Burg in Prodigal, where he was said to have been killed by Mages during the war, but in Curse Crackers he turns out to have survived this. Whether he was just lucky enough to survive the attack or his death was intentionally faked is currently unknown.
  • Pet the Dog: In the postgame ending, he could have easily and with cause have had Belle and the others arrested for aiding and abetting a known criminal, as well as for their own roles in reopening the Dawn Gate, but he promises to let them go if Bonnie comes quietly, and he does so when she agrees.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: While the law system he and his Knights uphold is incredibly strict, Toan himself is not a heartless man. Its noted that under his rule, Hyrain's purpose is just as much rehabilitation as it is punishment, and he's always willing to give the incarcerated light and/or reduced sentences dependent on their behavior and their desire to atone for their past misdeeds. Its also made clear that the worst of Hyrain's punishments, crystalization, is an absolute last resort reserved solely for the worst of the worst criminals who absolutely refuse to change their ways. And when he arrives to arrest Bonnie in Curse Crackers, he doesn't mistreat her at all and is willing to overlook Belle and her friends' complicity in Bonnie's crimes.
  • Red Baron: His full title is Sir Toan the Salamander.
  • Villain Has a Point: As gruff as he is about it, he's not wrong about Bonnie being a criminal, giving that she kidnapped Clyde and stole a forbidden artifact.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: He is responsible for creating and enforcing Ledamra's strict and uncompromising law system, but he does so to ensure something like the Scale war can never happen again.

The Oathen

    In General
A race who were gifted by Oathbind. They are tall and muscular, and have the potential to show great elemental power.
    Jacky
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jacky_4.png
An Oathen traveller who is interested in the history of Ledamra.
  • Adventurer Archaeologist: She's interested in exploring the various areas of Ledamra as well as the Hollows in order to learn more about them, and is also the one who frees Vivian if you don't free her yourself before completing World 4.
  • Mr. Exposition: Talking to her will often have her provide more lore about Ledamra and its history.
    Coal

General Coal

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/coal_1.png
An Oathen Knight and Mage who hopes to be a higher-ranked Knight known as a Wyvern.
  • Badass in Distress: She was turned to stone by one of Leer's arrows shortly before the events of Curse Crackers started.
  • Cigar Chomper: She's almost always seen smoking a cigar.
  • Last-Name Basis: Her reveal on Twitter prior to the release of Curse Crackers says that she finds her (unknown) first name embarrassing, and prefers to go by her surname instead.
  • Second Love: She becomes this to Barax, whose wife died some time ago.
    Barax
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barax.png
An Oathen Knight who helps to protect the city of Grevenfel, and the father of Yana.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: Despite his large size, he is rather friendly, is caring towards his daughter, and is shy about wanting to date again after losing his wife years ago.
  • Pungeon Master: Most of the times he greets Belle are with pick-up lines involving puns. Sometimes she's amused by them, but other times she thinks they're bad.

The Graven

    In General
A race who were gifted by Colorgrave. Because she didn't want to follow a specific pattern like her sisters did when they created their races, they all have different appearances and abilities.

For their tropes, see Colorgrave Universe The Colorless Void.

    Leadra
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leadra.png
The combined form of Tedra and Leer, who is fought as the final boss of the main story of Curse Crackers.
  • Fusion Dance: She's a fusion of Leer and Tedra.
  • One-Winged Angel: Effectively serves as this for her two Graven components, being bigger and more powerful than they are individually, as well as being the final boss of Curse Crackers.
  • Voice of the Legion: Implied by the fact that she has two sounds used for her speech instead of the normal singular sound that plays when other characters talk, suggesting that she speaks with Tedra and Leer's voices at the same time.

Other Characters

    Chime
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chime.png
A strange creature that Belle befriended in her childhood after finding him injured and feeding him until he recovered.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: He takes the form of a large, round bell with two limbs.
  • Balloonacy: In Curse Crackers, feeding him Skycakes will cause him to blow up like a balloon and carry Belle up to higher places until they find somewhere to land, get hit by something, or the player pressing a button to end the power-up.
  • Big Eater: It's said that he likes to eat a lot, and can even provide temporary power-ups when eating Claire's items. He also eats an entire meteor that's threatening to destroy the moon.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: If you look closely while he's eating, you'll see that his eyes are actually the two light-colored dots, and that the round black circles surrounding them are part of his mouth.
  • Magic Eater: He is strongly hinted to be one of the Magic Eaters, creatures that were feared and hunted by many. It's highly likely that this is how he was able to eat the meteor that Tedra and Leer tried to destroy the moon with.
    Clyde
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/clyde_1.png
A childhood friend of Belle and Bonnie, who is kidnapped by the latter while on a date with the former.
  • Ambiguously Human: Well, more like ambiguously Ungifted. Because we never see his face, we don't know if he is Gifted or not, although official art does show him without a shirt on and he doesn't appear to have any abnormal features, so it's likely that he is Ungifted.
  • Exact Words: Part of the reason why he starts dating Ursyla without telling Belle first is that since they were only on their first date when he was kidnapped, he wasn't technically her boyfriend.
  • The Faceless: He is never seen without his helmet. According to Word of God, he's been wearing masks and helmets from a young age to the point where even his parents don't remember what he looks like without it.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He eventually leaves Hollore after getting fed up not just with Belle and Bonnie but also with Ursyla complaining about how she lost her title to a "child".
  • Something We Forgot: At the end of Curse Crackers, Belle and Bonnie end up forgetting to free him after Tedra and Leer kidnap Bonnie and try to destroy the moon with a meteor. They only realise this at the end of the credits.
    Sparky
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sparky_6.png
Elinore's pet dog, who also pulls her wagon for her.
  • Big Friendly Dog: A literal example, as not only is he huge, but he really enjoys pets and always seems happy.
  • Canis Major: He's a giant dog, big enough to pull Elinore's wagon when travelling.
