Curse of Chucky

    Alice Pierce

Alice Pierce

Portrayed By: Summer H. Howell

Appearances: Curse of Chucky

Nica's niece, the daughter of Barb and Ian, and granddaughter of Sara.

  • Cheerful Child: She's generally shown to be a happy little girl.
  • Death of a Child: Played horrifyingly straight, as revealed in Cult. Chucky managed to Body Surf into her at the end of Curse and killed a few people in her body before someone managed to fight back and kill him, and effectively her.
  • Enfant Terrible: Acted like this while being possessed by Chucky, before getting killed.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Had blonde hair and was very sweet. Definitely not when she was possessed by Chucky.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Her bafflingly misplaced trust in Chucky gets her killed shortly before the events of Cult of Chucky.

    Barb Pierce

Barb Pierce

Portrayed By: Danielle Bisutti

Appearances: Curse of Chucky

Nica's older sister, wife of Ian, and older daughter of Sara.

  • Asshole Victim: She's a Big Sister Bully and a very unlikable individual who is very likely a Hate Sink. Few would mourn the character's demise.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: She would make a proper Soap Opera villainess if she wasn't in a Killer Doll Slasher Movie.
  • Big Sister Bully: She's revealed to be this towards Nica due to resenting her for her "special privileges" as a result of her being paraplegic from the waist down.
  • Bullying the Disabled: She's this towards Nica, whom she resents for her paraplegia.
  • Bury Your Gays: She's bisexual and part of the body count.
  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to Nica's Abel.
  • Depraved Bisexual: Is a having an affair with Jill, and is very selfish and manipulative.
  • Eye Scream: She's killed with a knife through the eye (and judging by how quickly it kills her, presumably through the brain).
Chucky: You have your mother's eyes... And they were always too FUCKING CLOSE TOGETHER!
  • Gaslighting: When it becomes clear Ian suspects her affair with Jill, her first response is to accuse him of wanting to sleep with her and pushing off his fantasies on her.
  • Gold Digger: Despite not being married to someone who's rich, she does want to sell her mother's house strictly for money and also disliked Ian's middle-class job as a barista at Starbucks because she expected something more high-class than that.
  • Hate Sink: Pretty obvious, especially with so many negative tropes to describe her.
  • It's All About Me: One of her first actions upon finding herself living in her family's home with Nica is to try to sell the house. She has to get Nica to agree to this since ownership is split between them, and to do this she tries to sweet-talk her into a nursing home. Mind you, nursing homes are for those who can't care for themselves, a threshold Nica doesn't nearly qualify for, and they wouldn't have the accomodations that the family house has built-in for her since she's been paraplegic since birth.
  • Jerkass: She's a self-serving Big Sister Bully and an elitist Gold Digger Rich Bitch wannabe who is resentful her sister received more attention from their mother, tries manipulating Nica to sell their family home because she wants cash, has an affair with Jill and seems only concerned with herself.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name is Barb, as in a sharp object, and Pierce. Not only is this an apt name for someone who has a knife for pretty much every back, but it also accurately describes how she dies.
  • New Media Are Evil: Runs a print media business that she said is dead, resorting to her to find other means of gathering money.
  • Parental Neglect: As far as we can see, she doesn't seem to be a very good mother to her daughter.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: She seems to be an ableist as she resents her sister Nica for her paraplegia. She's also an elitist who has a low opinion of the lower middle class, calling Ian a "latte-making loser" for his Starbucks barista job and apparently despising him for being a pleb and wage slave in general.
  • Rich Bitch: Despite not actually being rich. However, she's implied to have been the wealthiest of the Pierce family through her print media business until it went bankrupt. See Gold Digger above.
  • Smug Snake: She's presented as snide and arrogant.
  • The Sociopath: Can be considered a low-functioning example as she is selfish and manipulative, not caring for others except herself and likely implied to never had mourned for her mother's passing to begin with.

    Ian

Ian

Portrayed By: Brennan Elliot

Appearances: Curse of Chucky

Nica’s brother-in law, husband of Barb and Alice’s father.

  • Asshole Victim: He is killed moments after having Took a Level in Jerkass.
  • Bait-and-Switch: The viewer is led to believe through Ian's eagerness to be near Jill that he is having an affair with her. It's actually Barb who's having the affair, and he's trying to keep them separated.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He's not the laid-back Dogged Nice Guy he initially presented himself as, but a Smug Snake and a misinformed, somewhat possessive and boorish father who when she goes missing goes crazy towards the wrong person, Nica.
  • Bullying the Disabled: He does this after blaming the wheelchair-bound Nica for the murders by tying her to her wheelchair to interrogate her for kidnapping Alice.
  • Heel–Face Door-Slam: When he views the nanny cam footage for evidence of the atrocities that he mistakenly thinks are caused by Nica, he realizes Chucky is alive and was the one who murdered everyone and kidnapped Alice. Wordless, he is prevented from becoming an Only Sane Man like his sister-in law when Chucky cuts his lower jaw off killing him.
  • Henpecked Husband: Is one for Barb, who treats him like trash and cheats on him with Jill.
  • Hidden Depths: Ian seems rather preoccupied with the sexy nanny, Jill. But it's revealed she's actually having an affair with his wife and he's already suspected as much. In fact, he's taken steps to secure the evidence, which he intends to use to win their custody battle for their daughter. Much to Barb's surprise and horror as Ian also behaves like a Smug Snake about it.
  • It's All About Me: He shows some of this aspect as well as his wife.
  • Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: He tries this by tying Nica up upon believing her to be a Broken Pedestal to him after thinking she's the killer and Alice's kidnapper and at first interrogated her for Alice's whereabouts before taping her mouth when she does not comply to his demands, as he was also preparing to turn her over to the police once they arrive to the house after he rescues Alice by himself.
  • Jawbreaker: Ian dies by getting his jaw hacked off with an axe.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: He loses audience sympathy for not believing Nica about Chucky, immediately viewing her as a psycho and then becoming a huge jerk. In his position there're two scenarios, Nica has lost her mind or a killer doll is on a rampage. Only one of those things is logical. However, it is worth noting that just before his death; when he replays the camera, he clearly sees Chucky move and hears a voice that he knows Nica will never replicate. By the time the former makes sense to him, he's already...forcibly speechless and presumably hesitating in denial, which caused him to stoop to being an idiot as it would allow Chucky to ambush and then kill him.
  • Papa Wolf: An unsympathetic example, as he Wrongly Accused Nica of being a killer and Alice's kidnapper and tried to interrogate her after tying her up to squeeze out her daughter's location from her. However, rather showing him as a dedicated father who loves his children so much that he would take action, it instead shows him as a shortsighted, boorish, selfish, possessive and impulsive thug who judges his sister-in-law as the culprit and driven by narcissistic love for his daughter senselessly without ever listening to common reason like how can a wheelchair-bound woman commit murders in her feeble state and is easy to get disillusioned with Nica despite should knowing she would never harm her own family after bonding with her for years before the events of this film. Ian ends up no better than his wife Barb of being unworthy as Alice's parent.
  • Smug Snake: He's as snide and arrogant as his hated wife, overconfident about his nanny cam and trying to out-smug his smug wife.
  • This Cannot Be!: His reaction when he sees footage of Chucky being sentient, however, it causes him to go into denial, allowing Chucky to ambush and kill him when he's off-guard.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He's simply sits and watch himself about to get ambushed by Chucky on camera despite there being plenty of time to dodge that during the first moments, instead he wastes his time going into denial about Chucky being actually alive.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: After viewing Nica as a Broken Pedestal and a murderer and becomes disillusioned by their prior relationship upon this erroneous revelation.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: When he reveals he had a camera placed on Chucky to keep an eye on Barb and catch her cheating on him, it seems that this will be helpful in taking down Chucky since it provides irrefutable proof he's alive and dangerous. However, Chucky kills him almost immediately after he discovers this and the knowledge helps nobody since Chucky, and the footage, escape the house.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Despite he and Nica having a good in-law relationship in the film, it ultimately turns out be hollow and feeble as Ian was quick to wrongly accuse Nica as a Broken Pedestal to him for the deaths of Barb and Jill and Alice's kidnapping, while refusing to listen to Nica of what's really going on despite having known Nica all his life before the events of the film.

    Jill

Jill

Portrayed By: Maitland McConell

Appearances: Curse of Chucky

Alice's babysitter.

Cult of Chucky

    Dr. Foley

Dr. Foley

Portrayed By: Michael Therriault

Appearances: Cult of Chucky

A psychologist who treats Nica.

  • Asshole Victim: Lampshaded by Nica in their final interaction before her Spiteful Spit at him and getting knocked out by Chucky with an alcohol bottle the second time before regaining consciousness just to experience his demise by Chucky in Nica's body.
Nica: You're gonna die, and I'm gonna tell everybody about you.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: If being a Smug Snake Psycho Psychologist who rapes Nica during their sessions gives anything away, even the actual Big Bad Chucky is disgusted but at the same time impressed with his vileness.
  • Bullying the Disabled: His rape of Nica during their sessions count as this.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Gets his skull stomped repeatedly on by Chucky possessing Nica until it becomes a bloody pulp.
  • Dr. Jerk: He makes Dr. Ardmore played by Intrepid Reporter Jack McGee from the first film who was also this look more upstanding in comparison.
  • Eviler than Thou: Not even Chucky would stoop that low.
  • Hate Sink: In a series littered with Asshole Victims, he's near the top of the list as a sadistic rapist who abuses a disabled woman for his own perverted fantasies.
  • Inexplicably Identical Individuals: He shares the same actor as Nathan Cross.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Following his recovery the next day after getting knock out unconscious last night, he myopically Wrongly Accused Nica for hitting him in the back of the head with a bottle despite having her at his mercy right before his eyes without ever lifting a finger to due such a thing under his watch during their hypnosis session. This prompts him to Blackmail Nica with this incident in retaliation and in exchange to do whatever he wants to her. Not to mention that despite Dr. Foley managing to convince Nica to accept the responsibility for the murders in Curse and later for Claire's and Angela's deaths, it's still irrationally and practically impossible due to Nica's paralysis and being wheelchair bound as she be too physically weak and slow to commit such murders
  • Psycho Psychologist: Chucky thinks he's definitely this.
Chucky: And they call me “sick”?
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: Even goddamn Chucky is disgusted by him raping Nica.
  • Villain Respect: Chucky shows this towards him.
Chucky: I just...can't with this guy! I don't know whether to kill him or just take notes!

    Malcolm

Malcolm

Portrayed By: Adam Hurtig

Appearances: Cult of Chucky

A patient who has multiple personality disorder.

  • Big Bad Wannabe: His "Charles Lee Ray" persona is this, as he's just all talk, and even Chucky himself called him a "sick poser."
  • Eye Scream: Gets a drill through his eye in the end.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: His reason why he has a multiple personality disorder, to the point that it's implied he may actually be faking his illness simply for attention.
  • The Load: He's a totally useless loser in general, with his frustrating multiple personality disorder that can bug the heck out of others and his stupidly pathetic and banal reason behind it, even Chucky calls him a "sick poser."
  • Split Personality: Has a multiple personality disorder.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He never saw Chucky coming when he kills him, justified as he was already mentally damaged that left him vulnerable and unable to tell if Chucky is real or part of his disorder.

    Madeleine

Madeleine

Portrayed By: Elizabeth Rosen

Appearances: Cult of Chucky

A patient who smothered her baby to death and believes a Good Guy doll is her baby.

    Claire

Claire

Portrayed By: Grace Lynn Kung

Appearances: Cult of Chucky

A confrontational and paranoid patient who burned her house down.

  • And I Must Scream: Is given an injection that paralyzes her that leaves her in the open for Chucky to decapitate her as she can do nothing, but shed Tears of Fear as she meets her maker.
  • Asian Rudeness: She's Asian American (presumably Chinese American like her Chinese Canadian actress) and a nasty piece of work.
  • Asshole Victim: Subverted, as initially her general attitude and hostility towards Nica seemingly set her up to typically be one, but during her final moments after realizing Chucky is really alive, she attempts to warn Dr. Foley and Carlos who are restraining and sedating her in an operating room about the danger Chucky poses to them and the hospital. Just before she died, she was shedding Tears of Fear in her vulnerable and helpless state, which was enough to feel sorry for her in her last momentsinvoked.
  • Bullying the Disabled: Does this to Nica out of paranoia early in the film.
  • Celebrity Paradox: If Colonel Chucky's "Khan!" Shout-Out in Chucky is any indication, the Star Trek franchise exists in the Child's Play universe as her actress Grace Lynn Kung appeared in Star Trek: Discovery around the same year as Cult.
  • Death by a Thousand Cuts: Chucky hacks her into pieces with shards of a glass window but by allowing a compressed oxygen tank to do the work.
  • Good Is Not Nice: She's outright paranoid and unpleasant towards Nica, but is likely out of a protective side to her out of care for the inhabitants of the asylum.
  • Hate at First Sight: Initially towards Nica after learning about her considerable murder charges and singled her out as Insane Equals Violent in contrast to the other patients committed, justified as from her perspective in regards to her hostility at Nica since she's just protecting her fellow inmates like Angela as best as she can, while thinking Dr. Foley and the hospital are too incompetent to uphold that responsibility. There was no way to know that Nica wasn't still dangerous.
  • Hate Sink: Subverted, she was seemingly set up as an obvious one with that attitude problem of hers during her screen time, but she was ultimately Red Herring of the role and this is defied by the time of her death.
  • Heel–Face Door-Slam: After being a nasty character who thought Nica killed her friend Angela, she spends her final moments realizing Chucky is alive as well as him being Angela's real killer and tries to warn the asylum about his existence to rescue others before he kills her.
  • Insane Equals Violent: Believes Nica fits this criteria for her criminal record that got her committed unlike her and her fellow seemingly less malicious inmates at the mental hospital in comparison.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Claire initially gains minor audience sympathy after she learns about Nica being charged with a violent crimes after just getting committed to a mental hospital, filled with patients whose crimes they committed and/or disorders are not nearly as disturbing and unsettling as Nica's criminal record, and has the nerve to emotionally fend off by her own hand if the doctors and nurses there could not do their jobs properly what she obviously believed is a dangerous woman. There was no way to know that Nica wasn't still dangerous especially after just meeting her and learning about her crimes. By time she does acknowledges Nica's innocence and would take back what she judged of her, it would be too late for her. But while getting restrained by Carlos and Foley to a stretcher, she was correct to call out for them being "bloodsucking morons" for their ignorance of the danger Chucky poses and can be viewed as Right for the Wrong Reasons more then what she thinks, when Foley is not only a Dr. Jerk, but also a Psycho Psychologist who would routinely commit Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil against Nica during their sessions, while Carlos is eventually shown to be Too Dumb to Live when he simply stands upon realizing Nica has been telling the truth all along instead of making a run for it that led to his death.
  • Jerkass Realization: Claire's Tears of Fear just before getting decapitated can be interpreted as this, likely regretting of not believing Nica earlier than at the time of Chucky's biting.
  • Jerkass to One: Towards Nica mostly out of hostile paranoia for her charged multiple murder crimes that were actually committed by Chucky.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's very combative with Nica, but cares for Angela and apparently for the rest of inhabitants of the mental hospital for their safety. She would finally acknowledge Nica's innocence this whole time after Chucky bites her hand in the same matter on how Karen Barclay was bitten, but by then it was too late for her. Had not Claire tried to warn Dr. Foley and Carlos that instead leads her to be restrained and placed in a helpless state due to an injection given by Foley that made her a sitting duck for Chucky, she would have Took a Level in Kindness by going straight to Nica to apologize for her earlier hostility and falsely accusing her for Angela's death to take back all the nasty biased judgments she made against her and acknowledge she now believes she's Good All Along and would team up to stop Chucky's new body count out of their shared care for the asylum's inhabitants' lives and not wanting for them to get all killed.invoked
  • Knight Templar: She is a Well-Intentioned Extremist who acts as the mental hospital's de-facto bodyguard against Nica despite not having the official authority to do that.
  • Tears of Fear: Just before her death, enough to make her a Jerkass Woobie in her final moments.invoked
  • Off with Her Head!: How she bites it.
  • The Paranoiac: She's generally confrontational and hostile towards Nica due to the latter's criminal record of first degree murder which is enough to pose as a danger to a mental institution with minimum security. It is also likely she burnt her house down that got her committed is also due to some sort of paranoia she had.
  • Properly Paranoid: However, after just meeting someone and learned about them being charged with first degree murder can make anyone be on their guard at the drop of a hat no matter how extreme it is.
  • Red Herring: Initially appears to obviously be the Hate Sink of Cult, but around the time of her death, she had some redeeming qualities like her care for Angela, how her paranoia against Nica could be from her protective side for her fellow inmates' and the hospital's staff's lives and eventually having the ability to acknowledge that Nica was innocent the whole time and she was wrong about her following by trying to stop Chucky on her part by warning Dr. Foley, futile as might be.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: Her calling the Carlos and Dr. Foley as "bloodsucking morons" is actually more accurate than she was thinking at the time, when it would later be revealed Foley's a rapist of a Psycho Psychologist and Carlos was Too Dumb to Live that gets him killed in the climax.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Her overreacted paranoia and defensiveness against Nica is based out of care for her fellow inmates.

    Angela

Angela

Portrayed By: Martina Stephenson Kerr

Appearances: Cult of Chucky

A schizophrenic patient who believes she is dead.

  • Bullying a Dragon: She was just begging to get gutted by Chucky when she meets him, tells him he's not scary or even real which is just downright insulting to him.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Even Chucky is disgusted by her mental illness.
Chucky: You're next! I'm gonna be right back. JESUS! Fuckin' cuckoo's nest!
  • Crazy Homeless People: Was homeless at the time she was committed.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Justified as she was already mentally damaged that left her vulnerable and unable to tell if Chucky is real or part of her disorder, Chucky took offense to Angela telling him he's not real and earned her a spot in his body count, while she doesn't do anything to save herself.

    Nurse Carlos

Nurse Carlos

Portrayed By: Zak Santiago

Appearances: Cult of Chucky

A nurse at Harrogate.

  • Ambiguously Evil: Despite being more reasonable towards Nica, in the deleted scenes he underhandedly took pictures of her without her knowledge and selling them on the internet through the Perez Hilton website, which is revealed to Andy Barclay that prompts him to race to the asylum to stop Chucky, to pay for his husband's surgery and trip to Alaska. While he did redeems himself by giving his camera phone that uses to take the said pictures to her for her to have a better chance to gather concrete proof, he notably deleted the same pictures he took previously first before giving to her, though making sure Nica wouldn't find out about that could be the case of Lying to Protect Your Feelings and I Didn't Tell You Because You'd Be Unhappy.invoked
  • Bury Your Gays: He's a gay nurse who ends up on Chucky's body count.
  • Good Is Dumb: He's the only supportive figure in Nica's life during her institutionalization, but is revealed to be Too Dumb to Live, leading to his death by the three Chuckies.
  • Good Is Not Nice: He's polite towards Nica, but expresses he's not eager to be friends with her believing she's responsible for the deaths of her family.
  • Heel–Face Door-Slam: The deleted scenes revealed that he was taking pictures of Nica and selling them on the internet through the Perez Hilton website, which is revealed to Andy Barclay that prompts him to race to the asylum to stop Chucky, to pay for his husband's surgery and trip to Alaska. Then Carlos redeems himself by giving Nica his phone that he used to take pictures of her, but now for her to take pictures of Chucky being sentient to gather proof. Despite this, it wasn't enough to save him.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: More so then Dr. Foley, as he does show genuine leniency towards Nica and treats her kindly besides her considerable criminal record of crimes she never committed and in the deleted scenes, despite his underhanded methods of taking pictures of her without her consent to post on the internet to financially help his significant other out of personal desperation and not believing in Killer Dolls, he does lend Nica his phone with the camera feature (but not to humor her as Nica initially thought at first) so Nica and take pictures of Chucky being sentient as evidence to prove that she was telling the truth all along and he'll back her up once she does find solid proof of Chucky being real.
  • Spanner in the Works: The deleted scenes he's the one who posted picture of her and Chucky on the Perez Hilton site, which Andy caught whiff of and prompted him to race to the mental hospital to save her from Chucky.
  • Straight Gay: He's gay, but is a normal person that no one would ever notice his sexual orientation.
  • This Cannot Be!: The look on his face upon walking in to seeing three sentient Chuckies in Dr. Foley's office just before he's ambushed.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He simply stood and witnessed three Chuckies in Dr. Foley's study when earlier there was some time to flee before Nica noticed him, leading him to be stabbed, drilled and disemboweled by the Killer Doll trio.
