We aren't wrong when we say there's a lot of characters.

These are the many, many characters from the web-animated cartoon series Brawl of the Objects.

The host

    Controlly
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5wj_d50bd856_e657_44cb_ac05_2beb0d8eb19e.png
Voiced by: Anko6theanimator (Episode 1), Alex (Episode 2- present)
A video game controller. Controlly is the host of Brawl of the Objects; he knows how to sound professional, but he’s clearly full of himself. He likes coffee and anything that will make him richer and more famous. He dislikes when his plans don’t go his way.
  • The Host: He is this to the show.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: He's said that he likes anything that would make him more rich and famous.
  • Kill It with Water: Subverted, unlike other object show characters like him, since he was able to swim and retrieve Rook's frozen body and come back out alive.
    • Downplayed in "The Ever Convenient Objects' Sopping Mall," where he tries jumping into a pool located in the titular mall. And short-circuits. This causes a short power outage in the store. This at least proves that Controlly can die or at least get harmed from water, but in this case he lives albeit sightly blackened.

Contestants

    Baguette

A baguette (a type of French bread). He’s a grumpy and self-driven guy who lies about having a French heritage, as he finds it hilarious that he can say anything about anyone without consequences. Likes storytelling and cooking, dislikes incompetence and when people pronounce “poutine” like “pooh-teen”.

    Big Orange Chicken
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/big_orange_chicken_by_anko6theanimator_dclz5vq_fullview.png
Rank: 11th
A big orange chicken who joined the game in "A Treasured Welcome." Likes birdseed and companionship, dislikes people breaking eggs around him.

    Boat
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/boat_by_anko6theanimator_dclz5vw_fullview.png
Rank: 8th
Voiced by: Anko6theanimator
A sailboat. While generally introverted, she can surprise others with bursts of energy when in her own element. Likes videogames, swimming, and breaking the fourth wall, dislikes ghosts and making small decisions.

    Boombox
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/boombox_by_anko6theanimator_dclz5w7_fullview_4.png
Rank: 12th
Voiced by: Anko6theanimator
A giant stereo boombox. While he’s a quieter fellow, he’s a loyal friend, and enjoys expressing himself through the music he plays. Likes music, dislikes being judged for his size.

    Chocolatey
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5wc_71170e33_6824_4143_ae43_117670ef986d.png
Rank: 7th

A bar of chocolate. She is wild with plenty of charisma, but is prone to getting overexcited and acting without thinking. Likes candy and Battle Monsters, dislikes being misled.

    Hot Dog
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5wr_9dfd732a_c415_4796_89bf_4933ec014a04.png
Rank: 5th
Voiced by: Anko6theanimator
A hot dog. While he’s not the strongest in personality, he enjoys expressing himself through his inventions. Likes singing, knitting, and inventing gadgets, dislikes cooking and catching small, grey boxes.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He's able to build a car with knitted yarn.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Pizza.
  • Hidden Depths: According to the Rook explanation video, Hot Dog actually helped Controlly in his plan to retrieve Rook's dead, frozen body.
  • Prone to Tears: Each time he thinks about his car being destroyed, he's on the verge of tears.
  • Running Gag: Every time he is safe from elimination, he is unable to catch the prize boxes that are thrown at him.
  • Running Gagged: He does manage to catch a box in the finale because he was able to focus. However, Shelly had beaten him during his short-lived triumph.

    Party Hat

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5x0_a99f0cb4_cee5_4266_94ff_91817a3ef182.png
Rank: 3rd

A yellow-and-pink cone hat, and the leader of Team Vanilla. He’s a fun-loving party animal who has a constant positive attitude, and while he loves being the center of attention, he will never hesitate to pipe down his antics so he can help his friends when they’re in need. Likes parties, plush toys, and rainbows, dislikes driving.
  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: There is some evidence suggesting he is transgender of either sex. In the BOTO human lineup, he is the only male sporting eyelashes, and in episode 13, he was called a lady by Pinecone, alongside with Popsicley and Chocolatey, although that could also be attributed to Pinecone being Ambiguously Bi.
  • Big Guy, Little Guy: He's the little guy to Boombox's big guy.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: He lives in a little world... of HAPPINESS!
  • Does Not Drive: He can't drive. This is well-established in "How it All Began."
  • Keet: Loves fun!
  • Nice Guy: He is this in spades. He genuinely wants to get to know Baguette better, develops a fondness for Big Orange Chicken, and only wants for others to party alongside him.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: He has pink stripes on him, and he's a male.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Earlier on, he had a quite feminine sounding voice, causing viewers to mistake him for a girl.

    Pear
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5xb_27e5608f_85f0_4f59_9750_f3ca28338336.png
Rank: 15th

A pear. She’s somewhat of a stereotypical spoilt brat, and is obsessed with material things to the point where she forgets about her own emotional development. Likes shopping and makeup, dislikes humiliation and having to go outside of her comfort zone.
  • Flaying Alive: When she gets angry enough, her skin rips off. This does not hurt or kill her, however.
  • Lovable Alpha Bitch: Despite being a jerkass, she can be nice when she’s in a good mood, and even has a friendship with Shelly, who is one of the nicer characters.
  • Prone to Tears: Has cried twice, first, over thinking that Pizza was being mean, then over her lost stem.
  • Valley Girl: Fits this trope to a T.

    Pinecone
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5xs_dbf72ddd_4b9b_4304_85f2_f1c223882023.png
Rank: 13th

A small pinecone. He is a passionate rapper and chick magnet but is hindered by his minuscule size. Likes rapping and flirting, dislikes being stepped on.
  • Ambiguously Bi: At the end of the show, where he tries to flirt with Party Hat (Who is Male), as well as Popsicley and Chocolatey (who are both Female)
  • The Casanova: Turns out he's this. He uses the golden ticket that was meant to be for Shieldy in the finale to make himself bigger and try to get the girls. That backfired, as none of the females recognized him.
  • Lilliputians: He was so small he was at ankle-length with the other characters, but he grows to about the size of the other characters at the end of "How it All Ended."
  • Totally Radical: Trying to be cool? That's him!
  • The Unintelligible: Due to his size, the other contestants can only hear him in an incredibly high-pitched, squeaky voice that is almost impossible to understand.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Surprisingly, he has a very deep voice when a microphone is placed in front of him as revealed in BOTO's Next Star.

    Pizza
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pizza_by_anko6theanimator_dclz5y0_fullview.png
Rank: 4th
Voiced by: Anko6theanimator
A slice of pepperoni pizza, and the leader of Team Chocolate. Pizza is confident and enjoys being a leader, but can be somewhat impatient with others when under pressure. Likes practical jokes and being correct, dislikes singing and having his flaws pointed out.
  • Animation Anatomy Aging: As mentioned in "How it All Ended," pizzas gain pepperoni when they go through puberty, implying that Pizza didn't have pepperoni when he was younger.
  • Carnivore Confusion: He is appalled at the idea of Shieldy's pizza party at the end of "How It All Ended" and doesn't eat his slice when he comes to said party in the credits because he does not like the idea of eating the thing he is.
  • Dreadful Musician: As shown in BOTO's Next Star. In fact, he's so terrible that his singing accidentally kills Lava Lamp, one of the judges in the same episode, and immediately got a whopping score of zero in the challenge.
  • Every Pizza Is Pepperoni: He is depicted with only cheese and pepperoni on him.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Hotdog.

    Popsicley
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5y8_040106ce_7c6b_4bef_a5b2_83e271cc6fc4.png
Rank: 10th
Voiced by: Anko6theanimator
A pink popsicle (preferably raspberry flavored). She’s a born leader, but can be hard to reason with as she is stubborn and condescending toward others. Likes gossip and upbeat music, dislikes exercise, Battle Monsters, and criticism.

    Scissors
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5yi_dcceb4a2_3816_492f_9b71_946e971bda7e_2.png
Rank: 16th (Last Place)
Voiced by: Anko6theanimator
A pair of metal scissors. She uses anger as a coping mechanism to ward others off, as her worst fear is abandonment from the people she feels close to. She likes people making her feel appreciated, she dislikes when people dismiss her for being an irritable girl.
  • Jerkass: And a major one to boot.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: It's subtle but she did show concern towards Rook in episode 12, Rookie Mistakes and sympathy towards Emerald in the finale when the former became unhinged and the latter was left flabbergasted after his ex-wife went off with her new husband

    Shieldy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shieldy_by_anko6theanimator_dclz5z2_fullview.png
Rank: 1st
Voiced by: Nicolas
A blue-and-silver shield. He is the youngest contestant and is driven by his own curiosity. While he tends to be childish in nature, his heart is always in the right place, and he will always do everything he can to show others he loves them. Likes cars and making new friends, dislikes getting his hopes up.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Is said to be the youngest of all the contestants.
  • Big Eater: Shows shades of this as he gets bummed there is no rock candy in the cave in episode 10 and utterly wolfs down his slices of pizza in the finale.
  • Cheerful Child: Being the youngest contestant on the show, this is a given.
  • The Cutie: Youngest contestant, this is a given.
  • Youngest Child Wins: He's the youngest character on the show and, of course, the winner.

    Shelly
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5yr_2667e4e1_ce6a_4e0d_882f_1f43fe569bf9.png
Rank: 2nd
Voiced by: Anko6theanimator
A light-blue cone shell. While she fears the judgment of others in most situations and is easily spooked, she will not back down when she’s alone and needs to stand up for herself. Likes singing and board games, dislikes cannons, ghosts, and the dark.

    Slurpy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dclz5z8_8c808931_48ec_4f41_a679_e2d92637a6c3.png
Rank: 9th
Voiced by: Anko6theanimator
A straw. What she lacks in legs, she makes up for in brains; she is a reasonable and headstrong person who strives to support her friends. Likes reading and staying informed, dislikes physical activity, and discrimination.
  • Armless Biped: Inverted, since she does have arms but lacks legs.
  • Odd Name Out: Slurpy is the only contestant not named after her species, instead she's named after how you "slurp" with a straw.

Other Characters

    Rook
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rook_9.PNG
Try to guess what he hides inside.
A rook chess piece that lives in the Dream World. He was also a contestant in the original medieval Brawl of the Objects, but died during the finale.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He's been shown to have this through a Flashback in "Rookie Mistakes," which was triggered when Scissors mentions Brawl of the Objects. He was one of the servants who were brought to the newly-discovered Canada back in the medieval times, and competed in the competition held there until the finale, where he tried taking a shortcut when his rival gets an unfair advantage but drowned to death trying to execute the shortcut.
  • Dream Land: Is almost always seen here.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Downplayed. Since he's unaware of how much time has passed since his death, he believes that Scissors is Princess Shears and tends to her.
  • Killed Off for Real: According to the video explaining the original Brawl of the Objects finale, Rook tried taking a shortcut by breaking through the thick ice sheet of the frozen lake and swimming underneath so he couldn't be caught. Unfortunately, when he tries going up to the surface, he couldn't break the ice, causing him to drown and eventually end up frozen at the bottom of the lake.
  • Sudden Name Change: Early episodes of the series had him being called "Chess Piece."
  • Trauma Button: Mention Brawl of the Objects to him, and he‘ll certainly show how much the medieval competition had affected him.

Lemme introduce ourselves. From left to right: I'm Glamour and this is Fabulous, Vanity Pretty and Beautiful!
Introduced in Episode 3, The Ever Convenient Objects' Shopping Mall as adversaries to the contestants in the episode's challenge.
  • Girl Posse: With them all being beauty supplies, they surely fit this trope to a T.
  • Theme Naming: They are all aptly named after synonyms of "attractive". note
  • Token Good Teammate: Pretty the nail polish.
  • Valley Girl: All of them are.

    Lava Lamp
A famous pop star and one of the guest judges of the singing contest in episode 4, BOTO's Next Star

    The Examples
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/examples.jpg
Four shapes, four colors.note
A group of four differently-colored shapes that first appeared in the challenge explanation in "B.O.T.O. the Videogame," but their most well-known appearance is in the Elimination Time theme. They make a physical appearance in "How it All Ended."

    Furball
A pink fur ball who appears in "How It All Ended". He also sells things.

    Tiny Piano Player
A treble clef who plays the piano for The Internet Song.

    Cave Monster
A gigantic gray monster who was first seen in Unexpected Expedition. Makes another appearance in the Grand Finale.
  • Egging: Does this to one of the miner hat twins' house but it made Big Orange Chicken mad and lay eggs like a machine gun that are targeted at them.
  • Gentle Giant: Is this to Shelly and carries her further to the finish line.

    Emerald
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20200422_204159.JPG

A knightly prince who is on a quest to find his wife, Princess Diamond.

  • All for Nothing: Not only did his wife, Princess Diamond, want nothing to do with him after he finally found her in the season finale, she also remarried during the time period and left Emerald in the dust afterward.
  • The Cameo: He made a few appearances throughout the show, still looking for his wife.
  • The Determinator: Had spent 25 freaking years in search of his beloved Princess diamond.

    Battle of the Objects Characters
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20200422_204235.JPG
Controller
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20200422_191001.JPG
Ripoffs, should we say?note

Introduced in episode 8, Meet Your Match, as the copies to the normal contestants with the host, Controller, claiming that Brawl of the Objects has copied his show and has come to cancel their show. This prompted the episode's challenge between the 2 casts in which the losing show has to be canceled.

  • The Cameo: Despite Battle of the Objects being cancelled, the contestants seem to still be alive and well, as Straw was on the news at the beginning of "How it All Ended."
  • Expy: They are all obvious imitations of the host and the contestants of Brawl of the Objects.
  • Effective Knockoff: They manage to beat the Brawl of the objects cast in the challenge and almost succeed in canceling their show if not for a grave error, Huge Blue Cat, who is a knockoff of Big Orange Chicken, giving away that Battle of the Objects started a month before Brawl of the Objects.
    • Slurpy had a really unfair mini-challenge against Straw since (a) it's a running contest and (b) he has legs. Three guesses on who won.
    • Chocolately had been outdone by her counterpart, Coffee, in a candy-eating contest.
    • Present was made to dance as he's a robot, compared to Party Hat, who was already tired after hours of non-stop dancing.
    • Hotdog's counterpart, Frankfurter, is a way better knitter than him due to having ten years of experience compared to Hotdog's one.
  • Hypocrite: Controlley's counterpart, Controller, continuously claims Brawl of the objects was copying off of his show throughout the whole episode despite Huge Blue Cat, a knockoff of Big Orange Chicken, still being present showing that Battle of the Objects started a month before what they were copying.
  • Shoddy Knockoff Product: Even though there are many Effective Knockoffs, just a few of the Battle-OTO contestants didn't manage to beat their Brawl-OTO counterparts.
    • Sailboaty loses to Boat in the video game mini-challenge.
    • Badgey couldn't deflect the way Shieldy does in the ball-deflecting mini-challenge and thus unable to get any balls into his basket.
    • French Fry's second language is French, making him trip up when he tries to spell the French word for watermelon in the French-spelling mini-challenge.
    • Seashell being way too shy to compete in the singing mini-challenge, giving Shelly a free win.
  • Shrinking Violet: Shelly's counterpart, Seashell, can put Fluttershy to shame.
  • Spear Counterpart: Straw and Sailboat are this to Slurpy and Boat.

    Hacker
The main villain in Episode 2, the BOTO videogame.
  • Big Bad: Of episode 2. He trapped Princess Diamond, can shoot lasers to unwitting characters and can hack himself into games. Yup, he fits all the criteria.
  • Kick the Dog: Has trapped Princess Diamond. He also freezes Hot Dog during the finale, costing him the win.
  • Playful Hacker: Averted, as he's a hacker for Serious Business.
  • Stick Figure Animation: What he's animated as.

     Mining Hat Twins
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20200422_212127.JPG
Twins of Mining.
The duo was introduced in episode 10, Unexpected Expedition.
  • Always Identical Twins: Well, almost since they look the same except for their colors.
  • Back for the Finale: Well, at least Pink anyway, she makes a brief cameo in episode 13 at their house.
  • Hope Spot: At the end of their debut episode, they seemingly have escaped the boulder. It crushes them. Luckily, they are revealed to have survived in episode 13.
  • Meaningful Name: They are called Pink and Purple. Guess who's who.

Please add tropes here.

    Gareth
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gareth_8.jpg
Oh my god. He's HUGE.
A dragon who is the new husband of Princess Diamond.
