Fairy Tail guild

Formed by Mavis Vermillion, Yuri Dreyar, Precht Gaebolg (who would later become known as Hades), and Warrod Sequen, Fairy Tail is the most famous wizards' guild in the Kingdom of Fiore, most widely known for producing some of the most powerful wizards in the history of magic—so powerful, in fact, they cause unintended destruction no matter what they do.

    In General
  • Badass Crew: Fairy Tail easily outnumbers the other guilds in terms of badass members by a dozen-fold. They're also a colorful, tightly knit bunch of goofballs who consider each other closer than any family.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: They baffle all ordinary folks (and sometimes each other) with their eccentricities, but they all have one thing in common: mess with their guild, and they will end you.
  • Family of Choice: Act as this to all their members offering them a home and a source of solidarity during any emotional times.

Main Cast

    Bambietta Basterbine
The main character of the story and a former member of the Vandenreich. After her "death" at the hands of Giselle Gewelle, she arrives in the world of Fairy Tail in her undead state before being restored to life by Porlyusica. She later joins the guild and makes some new friends in the process.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: As if being betrayed by one of her best friends and being turned into an undead slave wasn't bad enough, Bambietta also had a horrible childhood before she had joined the Wandenriech, thanks to her father.
  • Adaptational Heroism: The entire story wouldn't be possible without this. Bambietta has gone from a Black Widow, Ax-Crazy Blood Knight to a woman who genuinely cares for her friends more than anything else... even if she still is a Blood Knight who can be quite violent at times.
  • Adaptational Badass: Ever since Tite Kubo gave his own vague answer on the subject (at least in regards to hand to hand combat and Blut), it has been a contentious debate on who the strongest member of 'The Bambi's' really is. However, in chapter 43, Liltotto states that not only was Bambietta the strongest of the group while they were all in their prime, but she was the strongest by FAR. Enough so that she was capable of defeating all four of them at the same time.
    • Bambietta herself confirms this in chapter 95, stating that this was why she was made the leader of 'The Bambies.'
  • Adaptational Protagonist: In Bleach proper, Bambietta was a side villain for the final arc. Here, she's the main character, which has allowed her to grow into a much deeper and developed character.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Has a loving and healthy relationship with Lucy, even if it had its occasional bumps here or there.
  • Adaptational Skill: Tite Kubo revealed in a Q&A that out of 'The Bambies', Bambietta had the weakest hand to hand combat skill and second lowest in Blut. (It's unknown whenever or not this was referring to Zombietta or Bambietta in her prime.) Here, Bambietta was always quite capable in both, but had simply gotten rusty with them once she got "The Explode". However, once she had seen her ranking amongst 'The Bambies' in these categories plummet and subsequently arrived in Earth land, she got training from Liltotto and her skills in hand to hand and Blute have significantly improved.
Ain't Too Proud to Beg: After being bound up with lightning, and being forced to watch Laxus torture Lucy right before her eyes, Bambietta pleads with Laxus to spare Lucy, throwing her pride to the wind if it means protecting her girlfriend. It doesn't work, leading to Bambietta's Incomplete Vollstandig.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: In chapter 95, Bambietta reveals that this was why she was made the leader of "The Bambies".
  • Ax-Crazy: Starts off like this before mellowing out, although it still resurfaces occasionally, usually due to her battle loving tendencies.
    • It comes back in full force in chapter 95 after Laxus pummels Lucy right before Bambietta's eyes. She's so overwhelmed by rage that she tries to kill him. Thanks to her incomplete Vollstandig, she nearly succeeds in doing so.
  • Battle Couple: She forms one with Lucy when they team up against Laxus during the Battle of Fairy Tail. They're pretty effective too, managing to overwhelm Laxus despite the gap in their strength.
  • Beam Spam: She tends to this with "The Explode" but typically only when she fights in a one-on-one battle. Freed learned this the hard way.
    • She also has a special technique like this, Feuerregen, where she lifts up her hand into the air and unleashs a countless barrage of "The Explode" orbs far greater than she normally could.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Bambietta's entire character arc wouldn't have been possible without this. She and Levy become best friends due to her being the one who reached out to her first, Lucy and her become Girlfriends due to Lucy letting her live in her apartment and all of the missions they went on, Erza for constantly looking out for her and being somewhat responsible for her resurrection and bringing her to the guild.
Berserk Button: Hurting Lucy, Wendy, Levy and Erza to a lesser extent are definitely hers. Laxus finds out the hard way what happens when he pushes the Lucy button one too many times.
  • Blood Knight: Still loves a good old-fashioned fight every now and then.
  • Breakthe Cutie: Being made into Giselle zombified slave certainly did a number on her self confidence.
    • However, the first time this actually happened to her chronically was when her sickly mother died protecting her against a hollow. She's blamed herself ever since.
    • It's brief, but Laxus does this in chapter 95 when He tortures Lucy right before Bambietta's eyes while shes bound up with lightning. Afte realizing there is nothing she can do, she breaks and pleads with Laxus to spare her.
  • Brought Down to Badass: When Bambietta was brought over to Earthland, she was stripped of her Schrift, her vollstandig, and a huge chunk of her reiatsu. Despite this massive decrease in power, however, Bambietta is still considered one of Fairy Tail's stronger members by the time of the Eisenwald arc, and defeats Erigor. And she only gets stronger from there.
  • Character Development: When Bambietta had first joined Fairy Tail, she had done so with selfish intentions in mind, and paying no heed to Fairy Tail's words of comeradery due to the betrayal she had suffered in her old world at the hands of Giselle. However, as she spent more and more time with Fairy Tail, she grew more and more attached to several of its members (Erza, Levy, Lucy and Wendy in particular), with it eventually culminating in her seeing the truth behind Fairy Tail's words and viewing the guild as her own family.
    • Another aspect of her growth revolves around owning up to her sins in her previous life and adopting a less violent way of living her life...Well, slightly less anyways.
  • The Chosen One:In a sense. She's been chosen to inherit the powers of the Goddess of destruction on behalf of the gods who wish to fight for Humanity's right to live as they are. Not that she has any idea how to truly wield them yet.
  • Cool Big Sis: She is shaping up like this for Wendy.
  • Darkand Troubled Past: It hasn't gone into depth just yet, but Bambietta has made it VERY clear that her life before she joined the Wandenriech was... unpleasant. One thing we do know, however, was that she was forced to kill her own siblings on her father's orders. So, yeah...Not pleasant.
  • Determinator: She's had multiple incidents of this, but the most notable one thus far has to be her fight with Ikaruga in the tower of heaven. Bambietta gets slashed and stabbed by Ikaruga so many times that she looks just as bad as Renji did by the end of his fight with Byakuya. Despite these incredible wounds, however, Bambietta refuses to give up so she can save Erza.
  • Facepalm Of Doom: By channeling her Divine Champion power into her right hand, Bambietta can unleash one of her most powerful attacks. It's more or less Shining Finger from Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Name and Theme song fully included. It can also strengthen itself into a Laser Blade once she tapes into her Super Mode.
  • Hero-Worshipper: Bambietta has a huge amount of respect for Erza not just for being the one who took her to Porylusica, but also for being a stronger warrior and constantly looking out for her and her own ending faith in the quincy.
I'll Kill You!: After Laxus tortures Lucy right before her very eyes, Bambietta SNAPS and vows to kill him just as she unleashes an Incomplete Vollstandig.
  • I Owe You My Life: After finding out Erza was the one who took her to Porlyusica to revive her and thus allowing her to meet all of her friends in Fairy Tail, Bambietta takes this position for Erza.
  • Just Toying with Them: She's done this twice, though for very different reasons. The first time was against Gajeel, to give the dragon slayer the false impression that he had a chance at winning, only to then shatter that hope to inflect despair.
  • Kamehame Hadoken: One of Bambietta's new techniques, "Atomic Blast" basically works like this. The "Super" Atomic Blast requires a far greater charge up, but with greater firepower, akin to that of the "Special Beam Cannon" or "Final Flash".
  • Lovable Nerd: Bambietta has a strong passion for Star Wars, various anime, graphic novels, and Godzilla movies.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After almost killing Jade and having countless nightmares about her past sins, including one where she killed Lucy of all people and her growth as a person, Bambietta comes to realize just how HORRIBLE her old Habit truly was. Not only does she have a panic attack over it, but she's also so ridden by guilt that she lets Yulian (the Quincy we see her kill in canon) beat her to a bloody pulp to make up for her past sins, and to help him move on.
  • Oh, Crap!: She's had plenty throughout the story, but special mention goes to when Yhwach shows up unexpectedly in Fairy Tail.
    • Yeah, turns out that messing around with Freed due to the prospect of him being a Worthy Opponent wasn't exactly one of her smartest ideas once she senses that both Makarov and Erza are out of commission.
  • Shout-Out: Given her nerdy nature in this continuity, Bambietta does this quite frequently. Typically it's Star Wars and Various other Anime.
  • It Sucks to Be the Chosen One:Bambietta realized rather quickly on her own that being the one blessed with God powers wasn't something she wanted, if nothing else other than the fact that the fate of all of her friends, and humanity, rests on her shoulders. Yeah, no pressure, right?
  • Super Mode: Gains brief access to one during her battle with Ikaruga by gaining access to the divine champion powers given to her by the deities on her side of the war.
    • Thanks to Laxus hitting her Berserk Button one too many times by practically torturing Lucy right before her very eyes, Bambietta unleashes an incomplete vollstandig to fight Laxus.
  • Sword Beam: During her battle with Freed, Bambietta shows that shows off her newest technique, Explodierender Schnitt. (Exploding Slash). Not only is it an attack that fires off from her sword, but anything it makes contact with it is covered in multiple small, but powerful explosions.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In Bleach proper, Bambietta would typically stop fighting once it became clear that a fight was beyond her ability to win. However, because of the bonds she's forged with those in Fairy Tail, she's fought in several battles (Jose, Ikaruga, Jellal), that she's had no chance of winning, yet still persisted regardless, if only to protect her friends and loved ones.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: After being forced to watch Laxus inflict a Curb-Stomp Battle on Lucy and begging for Laxus to spare her, Bambietta's emotions spiral out of control, allowing her to unleash an incomplete Vollstandig.
  • Worf Had the Flu: While still fairly powerful by the standards of early Fairy Tail (Starting off only slightly weaker than Natsu at the beginning of the series and having recently been offered the chance to take the S class trial) Bambietta is nowhere the power she had during the Thousand Year Blood War arc, and no longer has access to her Vollstandig. She had it even worse than the rest of her fellow Sternritter initially, as her Schrift, "The Explode" was sealed away. It's since been unsealed, albeit it's now in a nerfed state where it cannot affect organic material.
  • Worthy Opponent: After their initial clash in their battle, Bambietta views Freed as such. As the battle goes on, and Freed continues to show more and more what he can do, this feeling only intensifies, to the point where Bambietta hopes that once this is over, she can consider him her rival in the guild.
Unstoppable Rage: After the one-sided beatdown Laxus gives to Lucy, Bambietta's anger builds and builds, allowing her to unleash her Incomplete Vollstandig. It does NOT go well for him.

    Natsu Dragneel
A Fire Dragon Slayer and the famous Fairy Tail wizard known as "Salamander". He was raised from a young age by the dragon Igneel, who mysteriously disappeared seven years ago on July 7, X777. Ever since then, Natsu has been on a personal journey to find the dragon and learn what happened.
  • Adaptational Badass: Once E.N.D makes an apperance after Yhwach destroys Lisanna's grave, he gives the Quincy emperor a very hard fought fight, and takes him by surprise several times over, and this is before ANY of the timeskips.
  • Berserk Button: Destroying Lisanna's Grave certainly proved to be one, as its what forces E.N.D out FAR earlier than canon.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Subverted, in that while he didn't actually BEAT Yhwach as E.N.D in their fight, he did temporarily put him down long enough at one point that, for a moment, Lile Barro and Gerard Valkryie felt that he HAD.
  • Hero of Another Story: In Fairy Tail proper, Natsu is considered by many to be the main character (with Lucy being the only point of contention). While he's still fairly relevant and gets plenty of action, he no longer has the same prominence, or faces the same enemies That he does in canon.
  • Oblivious to Love: Is absolutely clueless about how Liltotto is romantically interested in him.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: E.N.D. makes an early appearance after Yhwach destroys an illusion of Lisanna's grave and proceeds to give the Quincy king a much greater challenge than anyone else in the story has thus far.

    Lucy Heartfilia
A Celestial Wizard who uses a set of magical Gatekeys to summon otherworldly Celestial Spirits to fight on her behalf.
  • Adaptational Badass: She obtains a Fullbring at the Tower of Heaven and Battles Laxus alongside Bambietta, and even briefly engages in a one on one battle with him after he binds Bambietta up with some lightning. While she does lose, she hangs in their surprisingly well, even surprising Laxus on occasion.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Makes up the Official Couple of the story with Bambietta, something completely absent from canon.
  • Battle Couple: Forms one with Bambietta when they battle against Laxus in the final fight in the Battle of Fairy Tail, managing to turn the tide massively in their favor
  • Determinator: Despite going up against Laxus of all people, Lucy continues to fight in spite of the massive pain he puts her through. It takes nothing short of a truly horrible Curb-Stomp Battle to put her down.

    Levy Mc Garden
The de facto leader of Team Shadow Gear who utilizes Solid Script Magic. She is one of the first people in Fairy Tail to befriend Bambietta

    Erza Scarlet
Fairy Tail's most powerful female wizard, renowned throughout the kingdom as "Titania", the Queen of the Fairies. Using her magic, The Knight, she can "Requip"—instantaneously exchange and equip—hundreds of different weapons and suits of armor that enhance her already tremendous strength and swordsmanship.
  • Adaptational Badass: As hard as it is to believe she could be more badass, it's true. From defeating Kariya (The Big Bad of the Bount Arc) instead of Aria, defeats Meifon, one of the Wizards Saints in a sparring match, defeats Kirge Opie, and even defeating Jellal during the tower of heaven instead of Natsu, or Bambietta. She's even added an Espada to the list with her defeat of Nnoitra Gilga. And, most impressive of all, is the first person in the story to make Yhwach bleed.
  • Always Someone Better: Bambietta has strived to become her equal someday, but outside of her Super Mode Erza is her superior in every regard.
  • Blinded by Rage: While extremely powerful, Erza's Purgatory Armor Berserker Mode has this one fatal flaw, which is what allows Jellal to defeat her in their first bout atop the Tower of Heaven.
  • Cool Big Sis: She acts like one for the whole guild, but primarily Erza is constantly looking out for Bambietta and Liltotto's wellbeing, resulting in both of the Sternritter's respect and admiration. Once the Tower of Heaven comes around, the pair does everything they can to save her.
  • I'll Kill You!: It's temporary, but Erza does consider doing this to Jellal after he kills Liltotto.
  • Tranquil Fury: After Liltotto's death, Erza's demeanor quickly becomes this, seeing how she learned her lesson from her earlier fight with Jellal. Throughout most of their final battle, Erza remains terrifyingly quiet, and only steps into her more typical rage once Jellal insults Liltotto.

    Liltotto Lamperd
A former Sternritter and one of Bambietta's oldest friends
  • Back from the Dead: Is brought back to life by Jellal's sacrifice after he is exorcised of the spirit possessing him.
  • Big Eater: Retains this trait from her traumatic past.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Just like in canon, she's a gifted tactician but prefers to laze around with her guildmates. She rises to the occasion when needed however.
  • Cannibalism Superpower: As revealed in Bleach: Cannot Fear Your Own World Liltotto can take the powers of whoever she devours fully. However, seeing as she is now a member of Fairy Tail, she's very hesitant to ever do this. She can however store up attacks that shes devoured and use them for as many times as she has eaten them untill she runs out.
  • Deadly Upgrade: Liltotto's one of the very few Sternritter who can still use her Vollstandig, but the form damages her body after a period of time due to her no longer having a spiritual body.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Uses Ransotengai to block Jellal's Altaris to save Erza and Bambietta at the Tower of Heaven.
  • Hopeless Suitor: She has romantic feelings for Natsu but the author confirms she has no chance with the Dragon Slayer.
  • Made a Slave: In her first life, she was sold into slavery to pay off her parents' debt.

    Candice Catnipp
A former Sternritter and another of Bambietta's old friends.
  • Ethical Slut: She enjoys sleeping around but will back off if someone is already in a relationship or aren't interested.
  • Loveable Sex Maniac: Once you get to know her, she's a great friend to have ... provided you can get used to her frequent flirtations and tendency to get laid with nearly everyone.
  • Really Gets Around: Very promiscuous and doesn't have many standards about who she sleeps with. Case in point, she hooks up Laxus while he still very much a colossal jerk.
  • Shipper on Deck: Serves as this for Juvia and Grey as well as Alzack and Bisca.
  • Shock and Awe: As per canon, as result of her Schrift.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: She's not afraid to cuss up a storm whenever she talks.

    Happy
An Exceed, a race of cat-like beings from the parallel world of Edolas, whose egg was found and hatched by Natsu, and the two have remained inseparable friends ever since.

    Gray Fullbuster
An ice wizard and rival of Natsu, who happens to be a fire wizard. Though more down-to-earth than most of his guildmates, he has the unhealthy habit of taking off his clothes without thinking.
  • Official Couple: His relationship with Juvia becomes this much earlier than canon thanks to Candice's help

    Wendy Marvell
A young Sky Dragon Slayer known as "Sky Maiden", raised by the dragon Grandeeney in the art of healing and support magic, until her disappearance in X777.
  • Adaptational Badass: Gains Pseudo Dragon Force at the Tower of Heaven during her fight against Shrieker, where as in canon, Wendy doesn't get a proper fight until the Grand Magic Games and Dragon Force (Albeit a complete one) during Tartaros.
  • Everyone's Baby Sister: At least to Bambi and her immediate group of friends. They even give her "The Talk".
  • Hero-Worshipper: After The Battle of Clover arc and becoming a temporary member of Fairy Tail, Wendy holds Bambietta in very high regard, much to Bambietta's potential worry.
  • Morality Pet: She certainly seems to take up this role for Bambietta, as the quincy tries to watch her language and acts far less violent than she normally does.
    • . Much like Bambietta, Wendy seems to be taking this role for Vanica (the protagonist for Redemption V), atleast to an extent. Despite her current lack of strength, Vanica still treats Wendy extremely well. It also helps that she has a high level of potential.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Happens much earlier here than in canon, when, after a peptalk from Bambietta, Wendy transforms into an incomplete Dragon Force and soundly defeats Shrieker. Bonus points for doing so prior to the timeskip unlike her canon counterpart.

    Carla
Carla is Wendy's serious-minded but well-meaning female Exceed partner and caretaker, born and raised at Cait Shelter after being sent from her native Edolas by her mother, Queen Shagotte.

Other Guild Members

    Makarov Dreyar
The Guild Master of Fairy Tail and the Sixth-ranked member of Ten Wizard Saints.

    Laxus Dreyar
Makarov's Grandson and one of Fairy Tail's S-Class Wizards and self-proclaimed strongest
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Thanks to Candice, Laxus actually decided to no longer go through with 'The Battle of Fairy Tail' plan that he devised in canon. Too bad Emberella had to come on in and spoil it.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Its only because of this that Laxus goes through with 'The Battle of Fairy Tail' thanks to Emberella.

     Gajeel Redfox
A former S class Wizard of Phantom Lord and an Iron Dragon Slayer—-

    Mystogan
A Mysterious Masked Man who is one of Fairy Tail's S-Class Wizards. He also looks like Jellal for unknown reasons.

    Mirajane Strauss
Former rival of Erza Scarlet, Mirajane is one of Fairy Tail's S-class wizards who has gone into retirement.
  • Adaptational Badass: Instead of defeating Freed like she does in canon, she fights and defeats a Reigai clone of Grimmjoww made by Syzaelaporro. Keep in mind that Grimmjoww was the Sexta Espada before Aizen's defeat in the Winter War, which means that his clone is definitely no slouch in a fight.

    Totomaru
A former member of Phantom Lord's Element 4
  • Adaptational Badass: Was trained by none other than Yamamoto himself and has inherited some of the flames of the former Captain-Commander's Shikai.
  • Ascended Extra: Goes from a member of the Element 4 into a full-fledged member of Fairy Tail.

    Juvia Lockser
A former member of Phantom Lord's Element 4 and Grey's girlfriend

    Reigai Rukia
The Reigai doppleganger of the still-living Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki
  • Artificial Human: Well, artificial non-human, but still it counts. Of course, no one treats her and differently for it, and it's because she isn't the real Rukia that she becomes friends with The Bambis, as she is not the same woman they went to war with.
  • Heroic Rematch: Rukia finally gets a chance to properly defeat Yoshino, even after she tries to take Millianna hostage. Thanks to her having Sode no Shirayuki this time around, it doesn't work, and she soundly defeats the Bount.
  • The Mentor: The takes up this role for Wendy once the Dragon Slayer wants to become stronger, but Bambietta refuses to do so herself.

    Ulquiorra Cifer
The former Cuarto Espada who joins the guild after running into Levy
  • The Stoic: He's still as emotionless as ever, but he's growing out of his shell
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Him getting pissed off at Nanana for threatening Levy while unleashing his Resurrecion certainly counts
  • What Is This Thing You Call "Love"?: Carrying on from his development in Bleach, Ulquiorra continues his quest to understand "the heart" and to this end joining the Fairy Tail Guild. To his own surprise, he finds himself caring for his new guildmates even if he doesn't fully understand why.

    Reigai Momo Hinamori

The Reigai doppleganger of the still-living Lieutenant of squad 5, Momo Hinamori.

  • Adaptational Badass: Becomes much more powerful than her original self due to Iris fusing the two reigai Momo's together, putting her strength above that of most of the Privaron Espada
  • Adaptational Curves: An unintentional side effect from Iris fusing the two reigai together, with Momo filling out her shihakusho much more than the original did.
  • Artificial Human: Well, as artificial a human as a reigai can be, but still. Just like Rukia, none of the others seem to be bothered by this in the slightest, though Aizen seems to have taken an interest in her due to her increased power.
  • Escape Battle Technique: Momo has two techniques that do this both of which are inspired by Yugioh cards. Magical Hats and Mystic Box.
  • Jack of All Stats: Rather than simply master one type of Magic like the majority of Fairy Tail's cast, Momo has decided to learn several. While she hasn't mastered any fully like the others have, this has allowed her to learn multiple spells of various elemental spells, alongside her already vast Kido arsenal, making her a very powerful opponent.
  • Magic Knight: While her expertise is still in casting spells, Momo proves that she's also very proficient with a sword, easily defeating Mabry, another skilled swordsman with a single blow with her sword.
  • Strong and Skilled: While the original Momo was by no means weak, having the rank of Lieutenant back in soul society, it's thanks to her god fusing the two reigai doppelgangers into one being, she's much stronger than her original counterpart. She's still incredibly skilled with Kido like the original and has even begun to pick up some spells from various magic from Earthland.

     Jade Ladro
A former thief and assassin working for Emberella, Jade quickly became friends with Candice Catnipp when her mother figure abandoned her and is now a member of Fairy Tail.
  • Because You Were Niceto Me: Due to her rather unfortunate life growing up, she quickly formed a fiercely loyal, mother/daughter-like bond with Emberella when she took her in. However, once Emberella's plans with Chicken Fangs Guild failed and she seemingly abandoned Jade, she soon formed a powerful bond with Candice for this reason as well, even if it's more of the tough love variety.
    • As of Chapter 68, this seems to be how she feels about the rest of the main cast as well.
  • Being Evil Sucks: She didn't mind being an assassin for Emberella at first, but after befriending Candice and other members of Fairy Tail, she's starting to have second thoughts about it and greatly dreads the upcoming betrayal planned for the Harvest Festival.
  • Expy: Of Emerald Sustrai from RWBY
  • Sealed Badass in a Can: Former Big Bad Sosuke Aizen, of all people, has been sealed inside of her.

     Freed Justine
Leader of the Thunder Legion, Laxus's most loyal subordinate and the favorite to win the upcoming S class trials on Tenrou Island.
  • Adaptational Badass: Freed gets utterly trounced by Mirajane in the manga when she uses Satan Soul. While he does fairly better in the anime, he's ultimately still no match for her. Here, however, not only is he battling Bambietta, but he also manages to have a good back and forth battle with her. It's not until Bambietta goes Full Power that she starts to trounce him.
  • Adaptational Sympathy: Chapter 92 reveals the reason why he's so insistent on following through Laxus's plan from Fairy Tail isn't purely out of blind loyalty to Laxus. His own father and brothers, strong mages in their own right were both killed due to the cowardice of one of their guildmates in Gargoyle Wing and he wants to prevent such a thing from ever happening in Fairy Tail.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Kidnapping Wendy during the battle of Fairy Tail did not sit well with him at all, enough so that he placed a fail-safe to ensure her protection.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He breaks down in tears after his loss to Bambietta, realizing full well that his actions wouldn't have saved the guild, but would have instead destroyed what made it so special.
  • One-Winged Angel: By using Dark Écriture: Darkness, Freed transforms into a demonic like creature that greatly increases his strength. It's enough to turn the tide against Bambietta, at least, until she starts getting serious.
  • Shades of Conflict: While Freed is willing to go along with Laxus's plan like in canon, he does NOT approve working alongside dark guilds to accomplish their goals, and ESPECIALLY the kidnapping of Wendy Marvell.
  • Worthy Opponent: Freed seems to judge Totomaru as such, at least as a swordsman, and then latter Bambietta. The feeling is mutual.
  • Would Not Hurt A Child: Disapproves of Wendy being kidnapped during the battle of Fairy Tail and sets up a failsafe to protect her.

     Bickslow
Member of the Thunder Legion who work under Laxus.
  • Adaptational Sympathy: Thanks to his completely new backstory (opposed to his lack of one in canon) Bickslow couldn't get into any proper guilds do the magic he used, which he only learned to keep the souls of his dead friends around him. When Laxus accepted him despite this, he forever earned Laxus's loyalty.

     Evergreen
Member of the Thunder Legion who work under Laxus. She believes herself to be worthy of the title of Titania more than anyone else.
  • Adaptational Sympathy: Evergreen unlocked her magic after witnessing the murder of her own parents and turned their killer into stone. The villagers considered her a monster, and Evergreen was forced out of her home till she was found by Meifon. She wanted to become the Titania, just like her...only for Meifon to leave without a proper goodbye and gave the title to Erza instead.

Redemption V

A Canonical Spin-Off of 'A Quincy's Fairy Tail' that takes place after Tenrou Island.
    Vanica Zogratis
The Main character of Redemption V from the world of Black Clover
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Unlike her younger brother, Zenon, there was no attempt to make Vanica sympathetic in Black Clover proper. Here, it's been made clear that her childhood was filled with discrimination due to the nature of her magic.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Due to her not being able to have the Friendly Rivalry she wanted with Noelle, and the betrayal of Megicula, Vanica has seemed to mellowed out a fair bit...key word being a bit.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: What little flash's we get of Vanica's past during chapter 1 and 3 of Redemption V show that this was the case, thanks to the nature of her magic and being a part of the Zogratis family. It certainly left it's mark on her, as it's the source of one of the few times we actually see her vulnerable on an emotional level.
  • Berserk Button: Cowards, or to be more specific, cowards with the potential to be so much stronger. This also extends to braggarts who are 'too big for their breeches' who only fight, torment, and kill, people far weaker than they are. Also, while only vaguely hinted at, it seems as if her childhood also seems to count.
  • Blood Knight: She wouldn't be Vanica if she wasn't this. While she seems to have learned how to tone it down considerably, both for the sake of Wendy and blending into Earthland, Vanica still finds herself enthralled by prospect of a challenging foe.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: The brief glances we see of her past make it clear she spent most of her life being shunned and discriminated against purely for the nature of her magic and her relation to her family.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Losing to Noelle helped Vanica remember that having a friend was something she really wanted as a child. Currently, it's only for the desire to have a strong opponent to battle over and over again, but still.
  • I Owe You My Life: Without Wendy's assistance, Vanica would have died, bored and alone in the middle of nowhere. Now able to engage in the battles she loves so much because of her, Vanica feels like she owes it to Wendy to keep her safe, and in the event she was to be made into a dark disciple, she would be treated considerably better than her old ones.
  • I Shall Taunt You: She did this quite a bit during her battle with Schwarzwald, all so she could get him to fight at full strength.

  • Mood-Swinger: Vanica went from having a rather fun time with toying with Schwarzwald to completely livid once he turned into a complete coward in spite of his boasts.
  • My Greatest Failure: Vanica sees her failure at having a Friendly Rivalry with Noelle as this, enough so that she seems to even regret the kidnapping and torment of Lolopechka.
  • Not Worth Killing: Seems to have adopted this in regard to the weak, after her battle with Acier. Not out of the goodness of her own heart, mind you, but simply due to the lack of enjoyment that comes from it, as well as her plan to eventually to settle in with Fairy Tail
  • I'm Crying, but I Don't Know Why: She has this reaction after she recalls Megicula's betrayal to sacrifice her.
  • Trauma Button: Being reminded of either Megicula and their subsequent betrayal, or whenever her childhood memories come back to her, are a slightly subdued example of this.
  • Worthy Opponent: Despite her much kinder approach to finding strong foes, Vanica seeks this more than anything else. If they can prove to be such, then she wants to befriend them, just like Noelle.
    • While she was skeptical at first, Natsu quickly proved to be one in her eyes, enough so that she bothers to learn his name and see him as a genuine friend/Rival once the battle is over.
