Refreshing

It is exceedignly rare to find works that depict homosexual relationships realistically and in non-soap-opera-ish way, especially male-on-male ones.

As such, The Less Than Epic Adventures Of TJ And Amal is a very good idea. A lanky, dreadlocks-wearing, pot-smoking slacker and an athletic, masculine, rational Indian guy are definitely not the type of image you can get in popular imagery when you hear the word "homosexual". The whole "road trip" setting is also kinda unusual in romantic settings and opens possibilities for a steady, lively storyline. Despite using some staples such as Amal's coming out story, both leads and twists are well rounded and most clichés of gay romance (Love Triangle, All Gays Are Promiscuous etc.) are carefully avoided.

The artwork is also pretty good for a webcomic and can sometimes amaze by its details. The character design is also strangely appealing, perhaps due to their unusual types.

All in all, this series was a very pleasant surprise and i really look forward to reading the next chapter!
