This is more a review of the fanbase than the show. It goes into little detail of your opinion of the show and mostly complains about the fandom and hatedom, as if this would affect one's opinion of the show.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"That's one reason I havn't even touched the show: I'm afraid of being lumped in with the crazies, and then being gassed by the hatedom.
Not to mention, the Avatar fandom is fucking crazy enough. Not as bad as MLP, but the self-entitlement from the Kataang shippers is fucking legendary.
@Mallard To be fair to the Kataangers,Zutarians were far worse back in the day, a little vindication was nice.
Finally,I can think of two franchises that both start with S that fandoms and hatedoms far more self-entitled
At least Aang x Katara is canon, whereas Katara x Zuko remains the average fangirl's silly dream (I dislike both pairings).
I agree with the reviewer, though it's not a good review of the show.
Like it or not, you are a brony if your an adult male who likes the show.
The world isn't ready for giant T4 combustion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GbpGiYmBSs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKm9No offense, but try to edit your review so it doesn't get deleted...anyway, I agree with the fandom and hatedom. I dislike how some of the fans put My Little Pony comments on places where it's irrelevant, and I hate how the haters mock you for liking the show....
I have to say, "Brony" is a really stupid sounding word.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"Well, I don't agree that the fandom is terrible, but I do agree that the hatedom is really terrible.
The fandom is just as bad...they declare death threats over shipping and whether you like or hate characters. It's not only the hatedom, so don't single out please.
Okay, I've seen death threats in every fandom I've ever read up on. I also have seen death threats in every hatedom I know about. Thing is, these are disturbed individuals who like a show, movie, book or franchise. They aren't creators or the property itself...so how does this relate to a show?
illegitematus non carborundum est@Ms CC: You should also not assume that the entire fandom is utterly batshit crazy because of a couple of extreme idiots either. Every fandom that grows large enough has a vocal section that act like entitled assholes, and the larger, more rational parts of the fandom shouldn't get lumped in with them.
Anyway, yeah, this review has little to nothing to do with the show itself, so I'm not entirely sure what the point is.
Reaction Image RepositorySame with Hatedom. And I think he was using a hyperbole.
Shipping? To be honest, I don't care about that. There's not too much shipping in MLP here.
I agree with this review.
@ Japanese Teeth ...don't worry, I also like this show too, but it's some of the rabid, annoying bronies I have a problem with. I know not all fans are like that, but to just target the hatedom and ignore the bad things that the fandom does is just annoying sometimes. Plus, bronies and Sonic fans stand out the most, which is why people target them easier.
Despite this not being the most...in-depth review, I can at least somewhat relate to the frustration it expresses. I've never seen an episode of the show before, but I'm afraid to. I feel like the sheer amount of hype and hate have in equal parts ruined my ability to watch it objectively. These days it seems like no matter where you are on the internet, all it takes is one little unnecessary reference to ponies and bam; instant shitstorm of haters, bronies and Fan Haters going at each other's throats.
Really, I don't mind if anyone likes or hates the show. I just wish they could keep it to themselves. And if you feel the need to harass people for liking the show, you should probably get a life. I'm just sick of hearing about it. /rant
@Mr Mallard Ahh I get what you what mean. The Kataang shippers are what led me to ditch the Avatar fandom.

Good show, terrible fandom and hatedom
This show isn't the best, nor is it the worst. It's funny and genuinely cute in some parts, and the characters can be relatable. However, the fandom and hatedom this show gets makes it difficult for me to actually enjoy this show. The fandom acts like this show is LOST or Breaking Bad and complains when the show is not up to their standards. I have never seen so much zealotry and self-entitlement in my life. If I wanted to watch Lost or Breaking Bad, I'd watch Lost or Breaking Bad, not Friendship Is Magic. The hatedom demonizes people who like the show even a little bit and attacks the fans rather than the show. This is why I shall never refer to myself as a brony.
