I understand a lot of your issues, however I think you're overestimating how dangerous the boys actually are. For one, I don't consider the Mount Rushmore episode "extremely offensive" (and yes, I'm an American) because frankly Mount Rushmore means nothing to me to begin with; and any damage was erased in the end anyway. Otherwise, it's actually been established that Phineas and Ferb do handle all of the paperwork necessary; it's where the "Aren't you a little young" Running Gag comes in. It also feels needlessly nitpicky to assume they didn't wash their hands? Like... at best that's fridge horror, but nothing in the show supports that they would be so disgusting and careless. A majority of their plans aren't even harmful to others, such as making ice-cream on the moon, turning aglets into a household word, and becoming popstars.

But moving on from that, I mostly just think it's a very well produced show with a good sense of humor. The music is phenomenal, the repetitive nature of the episodes eventually becomes something they use for subversive comedy or silly Running Gags, and Perry and Doof in particular develop a really close bond and essentially become best friends who have to fight not because of how evil Doof is, but because they genuinely enjoy having their rivalry. There's an entire episode that plays out like a tragic breakup based around Doof "cheating" with another agent, and it's one of the best in the show. Candace also has more going on with her, and her character has less to do with "stereotypical teenager" and more to do with her doomed efforts at "busting" her brothers — something else the show plays with mercilessly.

In general, I can get the idea of why you dislike it, but I feel like some of your issues are either exaggerating the actual events of the show, or would be resolved if you'd engaged with it a bit more (as a lot of the repetition becomes intentionally toyed with as the show progresses).

they once defaced a US monument to put their sister\'s face on there (which is extremely offensive to Americans)

Lol wait \'til you hear about the history of the Six Grandfathers AKA \"Mount Rushmore\".

defeating a German dude named \"Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz\", a dude who looks like some elderly Ben Tennyson

...wut.

I\'ve flagged the review. The troper in question was suspended before for posting an inflammatory review about P&F, and this is filled with patently false information and bordering on troll sentences.

I\'m not sure it\'s bad enough to warrant a flag, but this review definitely has issues. It seems like the OP has a chip on their shoulder about how this show is popular while Johnny Test is treated like a punching bag. I can sympathize to a degree, but taking that anger out on P&F is both misguided and ineffective. In particular, blaming P&F for the cancellation of shows like Kick Buttowski strikes me as odd. For one thing, KB only aired on Disney XD, whereas P&F was primarily on Disney Channel. It\'s unlikely that P&F had anything to do with KB\'s cancellation at all.

As for the other criticisms, it sounds like the biggest disconnect was between the show\'s brand of humor and the O Ps. The humor is really P&F\'s main selling point, and if you don\'t buy into it you\'re inevitably going to find the characters and plots weak. I will say though that the criticism towards the main characters feels unfair at points and off the mark in others. Candace is far more obsessed with \'busting\' her brothers than she is with her phone, and Phineas and Ferb are often shown accommodating their neighbors or even going out of their way to help them. The show doesn\'t fixate on the details often because it\'s not really important. It\'s a cartoon comedy after all. No one questions whether Will E. Coyote has a permit to use dynamite.

I'm a geek.

^ It's more to do with the fact that:

  • 1. The troper has enough of a Single Issue Wonk about the show that their only review activity consists solely of bashing it (whether in the comments or in the reviews themselves)
  • 2. They promised not to do it anymore when they were suspended (yet they've done it again).
  • 3. Meta stuff (such as "I hate the show because of the toxic fandom" and "I hate the show because it's responsible for a show I like getting cancelled") is not allowed.
  • 4. A good chunk of the information in this review is either exaggerated/nitpicky or factually untrue.

The best thing you could say about the review is that it's not as rule-violating as their first one.

@Arctimon so in other words, you\'re reporting my review just because you disagree with it? Aren\'t you a little too old to do something as childish as that?

No, Leia, they are reporting your review because it is full of unneeded jabs at both it and its fanbase and it is rude for no good reason.

^^The very fact you’re using a well known set up for one of the show’s running gags tells me that yea, your review is borderline trolling.

Leia, you asked people to leave comments explaining why we liked the show. I did that. I\'d appreciate if you didn\'t just ignore everyone making valid arguments in the comments about why your review wasn\'t accurate.

So...is this review getting removed, or...? They\'ve already been suspended, and the mods are well aware that this review is a trolling attempt.

<Moderator headband on> I\'ve redacted the review, but folks, if you think something is trolling don\'t respond to it. Also, commentary on a review author is no more in order than a review commenting about fans in general.
