Just unpleasant.

I myself am a big fan of rants on the Internet. From Nostalgia Critic (and Doug himself on movies he hates as both his character and As Himself) to Angry Joe on a bad game to the Angry Video Game Nerd, these types of reviewers do their job well in infusing their legitimate rage at something terrible (exaggerated or otherwise) with their comedy and in addition make their points on what makes that thing terrible in a mature, reasonable and thoughtful way. Sure, people may not agree with them when it comes to certain things they talk about (to this day I still feel a tad raw about Doug's opinion with regards to Zamus' design in Smash 4), but when they explain their points, they do so with tact and they are respectful to some degree to the people that do like it, unless it's something absolutely reprehensible.

The Mysterious Mr. Enter unfortunately does not fall on this category. His types of rants doesn't seem to want to inform the viewer about why that particular animation is either good or bad. His types of rants only seem to want to vent angrily or gush lovingly about why that particular animation is good or bad. The whole thing comes across as just some guy with a mic and a YouTube account came to the scene and wanted to yell about the stuff he does/does not like. The critics that I listed earlier engage in the same thing too, but at the very least they are entertaining in regards to their reviews. Mr. Enter however is just not entertaining to watch, with whatever points he tries to make being buried beneath all the gush/rage.

Does that mean that Mr. Enter is beyond any sort of improvement? No it doesn't. When he calms down, he does make some legitimately good points with regards to animation and the like, and at parts he has flashes of his own brand of comedy in there. He can improve himself in multiple different aspects. Unfortunately for the time being, whatever good can be found in Mr. Enter is just buried beneath this whole overall unpleasant experience.

I mostly have to agree. One thing I especially dislike is how frequently he decides to make personal attacks on writers. It comes off as mean spirited, and there's really no point. What are the odds of writers actually finding these videos and learning from their excessive criticism? On top of that there's the poor pacing, in which he frequently stops to complain about trivial details. These would be much more tolerable in the form of a text anecdote, instead of looping a few seconds of animation to explain it in painstaking detail. This complete lack of flow just kills the humor for me.

"This review has been flagged."

Wow. I don't know anything about the Mysterious Mr Enter but someone on TV Tropes is clearly really, really not dealing well with everyone not loving him.

There was another negative review of him what got flagged. I got no opinion on the dude, but there's someone who seriously needs to chill.

Fanfiction I hate.

The only explanation I can think of that paints this person (or these people) in a good light is that they think that reviewing a person is in poor taste. But I very highly doubt that that's the reason why.

I don't get why this review got flagged. My review got flagged, too, but it was just really angry and immature. This, however, is pretty mature criticism.

One cleanup thread later...

it is, I disagree with it, but so long as someone is reasonable about it, I'm fine with. I completely disagree with all he ever does is gush or rage, as the MLP reviews vary greatly. but you're reasonable about it, so I don't have problems. Who IS flagging these videos anyway?

It's a good thing the mods would never delete this just because of a fan who can't accept something (s)he likes being criticized.

As a fan of Mr. Enter's works, I do have to say that you've made some constructive criticisms concerning his work. However, I do have address one particular point.

"His types of rants only seem to want to vent angrily or gush lovingly about why that particular animation is good or bad" I don't know if I agreehe just simply gushes about the animations he love, because unlike his negative reviews, he manages to keep his cool much better while praising them.

As for venting angrily about animations he doesn't like, that's definitely true. However, Mr. Enter has said that his anger in his videos is cathartic, and that in real life, he's shy and soft-spoken. You can read his post in the link below.
