Insulting in so many ways

I recently finished reading an unabridged MST of this story, and if it wasn't for the fact that people were mocking it, I would've stood up and started shouting about how bad this was very early on. I may not be much of a Kingdom Hearts fan, but I do know and care enough about the characters to know and openly dislike when their personalities get butchered, and this goes beyond almost any Character Derailment I've ever seen in a typical KH Mary Sue High School AU fanfic, which is saying a lot. I'm also no World War II expert, but even I could tell when the author had blatantly gotten things wrong or just made things up.

This fanfic fails in so many ways. It fails at being romantic because the "romance" goes nowhere. It fails at being dramatic because it's so poorly written that it comes off as offensive. It fails at being entertaining or interesting because the prose and pacing make it hard to sit through. It fails at being historically accurate because of the obvious lack of research (one class does not make you an expert on WWII, author). It fails at preaching acceptance of others because this author shows no such acceptance for her own gender (read it and try to find a female character who isn't practically non-existent, annoying, or a bitch). It even fails as a mediocre fanfic not only because of how Out of Character everyone is and how cliché it is, but also because of how it's written. It'd be forgettable if this were one of thousands of other KH High School AUs, but no, for some reason this had to take place in Nazi Germany with all of the characters working for Adolf Hitler. How nice.

However, there is one thing this fanfic is unintentionally good at: it's good at offending people. It's offensive namely to those who like the characters, those who study and/or had relatives involved with WWII, but then there's the misogynistic angle, the unintended No Bisexuals thing (both of which are hypocritical), and the pointless filler involving the interrogation of an autistic girl... It's all one ugly mess. Whoever said this was worth reading if you could get through the first three chapters without throwing something is wrong; it's only worth it for those with morbid curiosity, and maybe not even then. If it's the subject of an MST, maybe, but otherwise...No.
