As of February 13, the trope of Ill Girl has entered TRS due to what turns out to be misuse (if my memory serves me well, this misuse has already been there in 2008). The tenor of the discussion seems to be that:

  • A new trope will be launched, tentatively named "Sickly Innocent Children", tentatively defined as: "an innocent, never-that-strong person who has a debilitating disease for a large part of the story and looks both cute and pitiable with it. They attract the sympathy of those around them, and the intention is that the audience will too. "
  • The intended meaning of Ill Girl already has a modern name: Healthcare Motivation.
  • Some examples are examples of Convenient Terminal Illness and Soap Opera Disease, and will be transplanted there.
Since the Ill Girl trope is something of storytelling importance in the earlier part of the series, I wonder which of these would be the best replacement?

To say that Momo and Shamiko are "Heterosexual Life-Partners" (in the item on "The Only One Allowed to Defeat You") is a crass case of heteronormativity. There is nothing in the manga so far (chapter 75) to suggest that either is heterosexual. In fact, the only character you could say that about is Shamiko's mother.

I agree. Although their relationship is still subtext in the series,I think it's wrong to just label them as being "sisterly Heterosexual Life-Partners" when the characters themselves haven't fully defined their relationship beyond enemies turned friends.

While I launched this page, I didn't write the entry in question. I'm open to suggestions on how to improve the page.

I'm not entirely sure what it should be changed to, but describing them as being "sisterly" gives off a gay erasure vibe. Especially since there isn't anything to suggest they see each other as sisters. At the same time, I acknowledge they haven't technically been confirmed as gay for each other either.

Maybe change it to something like "It's still the case later on when they have grown much closer to each other with both of them willing to die for each other." It keeps the sentence mostly the same without being too presumptuous.

So,the latest chapter came out and there were some major revelations concerning Momo. This led, obviously, led to new examples of tropes being added to the main page and the character page under Momo's section.

That's all well and good, but I have one minor nitpick: Momo is repeatedly mentioned in those trope examples as speaking Russian or having been part of a secret Russian facility. The problem? Momo wasn't speaking Russian. She was speaking Ukrainian. It's an understandable mistake since Russian and Ukrainian are very similar to each other.
