Re Cut:

This page was created yesterday (7/9/10). And I don't see why it shouldn't be a trope. Give the Wiki Magic time to work...

Only four examples?! That's just all I could remember in the 15 minutes I was allowed to write that page.

That's what YKTTW is for. Refining the definition and gathering examples. And why did you only have 15 minutes to write it? A good trope is worth a good page.

I'm going to ignore the remark about Standard Sci-Fi Army being good at covering anything.

Powered Armour covers Powered armour only.

Anywho, I don't find the description all that bad but if you go onto YKTTW you might find more patterns or contributions to the main description that will be interesting. It's not just for examples.

In fact, I think it's good as description. It's gets the trope across quickly and easily, points out a couple of common features of the trope and ties in some Truth in Television. On top of that there are four examples and it's a fine name. There's just probably so much more out there and a YKTTW could be very successful.

Here's a link.

A very valid point made on this trope's YKTTW page before this was launched noted that police and soldiers wearing armor is just People Sitting On Chairs. Unless this page is refined to be about armor being worn where it's not expected to be (i.e. among ordinary civilians as if it were Space Clothes, like the name given to this trope would actually suggest), then this page is either (1) too general to be a trope or (2) nothing we don't already have between Standard Sci-Fi Army, Powered Armor, Space Marine, Armor Is Useless and other pages that already describe both Sci-Fi armor sets and the people who wear them.

This trope should have spent more time under development in YKTTW. There's still some chance that this can probably be revamped in a BIG way that helps it stand out from the existing armor/soldier tropes, but if that doesn't happen, I don't think we're going to be seeing this page for very long.
