"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman Hide / Show RepliesI've noticed a lot of misuse lately. ZCEs like "Character X wears a sweater" and inversions presented as straight examples, like "Character X wears baggy sweaters to hide her figure".
I think the previous TRS thread arrived at a good consensus to let the trope match the common (but dated) usage outside of the Wiki, viz. "A woman wears tight sweaters to emphasize her bustline", but I also know that there are many people who have never heard of that term. I know of it because of some forays into 1940s and 50s popular culture, not because I use it in daily life.
I also noticed that the trope definition has been extended to talk about sweaters in other cultures etc, and I opened a Trope Talk thread about that, but attracted very little attention and didn't get a consensus any way.
